TACOMA, WASH. (PRWEB) SEPTEMBER 18, 2019

Before and during Climate Week, the media will be talking about the Climate Strike, student action, and the negotiations at the UN in New York City.

The public will be trying to translate that news and information into the effects on their lives and how they can engage in positive action. Everyone is responsible for responding to climate change; not everyone knows what to do. Museums, zoos, gardens, aquariums and historic sites around the country are mitigating their own impacts while helping their audiences learn about and take action on climate change.

Sarah Sutton will be commenting from Climate Week on the role of the cultural sector in climate action and on their participation in We Are Still In. Museums across the country are mitigating their climate impacts and engaging the public in learning about climate change and taking action.

These include the 64 cultural institutions and associations that are part of We Are Still In, the largest coalition of non-state actors in the world that support the Paris Agreement, including:

The Phipps Conservatory, Pittsburgh

The New England Aquarium, Boston

Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, Miami

The Science Museum of Minnesota, St. Paul

Roger Williams Park Zoo, Providence, RI

The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, Detroit

Strawbery Banke Museum, Portsmouth, NH
