Oumuamua is the first interstellar object in history to pass through the solar system. Astronomers say that this first interstellar visitor came from the direction of Vega, which is the brightest star in the Lyra constellation. At Oumuamua's velocity, a voyage from Vega to the solar system would take 600,000 years. The head of Harvard's astronomy department Avi Loeb says that this unidentified object definitely originated outside of our solar system and was likely "an alien spaceship". ~
