Buwad and Father, i am only giving you this advise because you two are diabetics and also i know that you two are taking your medications religiously. I want you two to remember that the longer you are in medication regimen, the longer one delays the negative effects of diabetes.
Buwad and Father, make sure you keep a look on your BP especially if you two are hypertensive. Make sure to take your medication for HTN because diabetes is severely linked to hypertension and cardiovascular problems.
Buwad, you are taking oral hypoglycemics that can be nephrotoxic; can damage your kidneys, so make sure you check your kidney functions and ask your doctor to see if you are taking any drug therapy for any other conditions than are minimizing your kidney's ability to function. If so, tell him to see if he can find another diabetic medication that is not nephrotoxic. Ang side effect of some oral hypoglycemics is that it is nephrotoxic. Ask him about Orynase and Dymelor.
Ask him to put you also in metformin. This is a preventative, but note that it does cause acidosis. Ask him about this.
Watch your rice intake, Buwad and Father, as well as watch your sugar intake.
Reduce your LDL levels and increase your HDL levels and reduce your Triglyceride levels.
Ask your GP about taking gemzofibril, niacin and feneofibrates.
