Chinese universities and local communities across the country will soon be welcoming new neighbors as Alibaba Group announces deployment of 1,000 delivery robots over the next year in an effort to reduce delivery time and costs.
This logistics robot is designed to fulfill last-mile delivery requests for communities and campuses – with students being prolific shoppers on digital e-commerce sites like Taobao and Tmall.
With Alibaba Damo Academy & Cainiao now mass-producing the logistics robots, the organizations have also elaborated on their plans to develop larger, self-driving trucks to expand the radius of autonomous deliveries.
