A couple lost more than P90,000 in cash and valuables to three unidentified suspects in Sagbayan town.
The victims were identified as Florencio Sr. and Angelita Gambi, residents of Sitio Hillside, Barangay Poblacion, Sagbayan.
A child of the victim identified as Flor Gambi personally reported the incident to the police. According to the younger Gambi, the hold-up took place about 8:25 pm last July 13.
The suspects divested the victims of P50,000 in cash and expensive jewelry valued at P40,000, a cellular phone worth more than P2,000 and important documents.
The hold-up is still the subject of follow-up operations by the Sagbayan police.
In another development, a pregnant woman was arrested in Baclayon town in connection with a snatching incident that took place in the public market.
The suspect was identified as one Jocelyn Abalto, 24, a native of Bindoy, Negros Oriental but presently residing in Gallares street, Tagbilaran City.
Initial reports revealed that the victim identified as one Gelyn Ednalgan, 35, was in front of the Baclayon public market about 2 pm last Wednesday.
The suspect suddenly grabbed the bag containing P2,700 and other important documents from the Mayana, Jagna native.
Responding policemen and witnesses chased the suspect who fled towards the seawall and arrested her while she was hiding in the mangrove swamp. The authorities recovered the bag with the cash and valuables from the suspect.
