Elements of Special Operations Group of Bohol Police Provincial Office and Sagbayan Police Station led by P/INSP VENER SANTOS arrested an escapee from the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm in Puerto Princesa, Palawan while operating in Poblacion, Sagbayan, Bohol, last August 12, 2007 at around 9:00 in the evening.
The sentenced prisoner who managed to escaped from the penal institution way back on April 16, 1989 was identified as Antonio Torrefranca y Libres, legal age, Filipino and resident of Poblacion, Sagbayan, Bohol.
The arrest was effected by virtue of an Arrest Order from the Bureau of Prisons based in Muntinlupa, Metro Manila, per File No. 302231 and Prisoner File No. 129231-P. As remembered, Antonio Torrefranca y Libres was convicted for the crime of Robbery with Homicide and was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Presiding Judge of Branch 1, Regional Trial Court of Bohol on June 18, 1987.
The escapee is now detained at the Camp Dagohoy Detention Cell awaiting the arrival of authorities from the Bureau of Prisons who brought him back to the Brureu of Prisons Center to serve his sentenced.
