Cagayan de Oro City (29 June 2005) -- THE Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in Bukidnon is urging students and the general public to help them monitor and report cases of technical-vocational schools charging unauthorized fees.
In a statement, TESDA-Bukidnon said there are schools that are not complying with TESDA requirements, especially on fees being imposed on students.
TESDA-Bukidnon provincial director Marjorie P. Nilo said appropriate sanctions will be imposed on erring institutions.
Nilo said they are closely monitoring various institutions in the province to ensure students’ access to technical-vocational courses.
This effort is part of the thrust of TESDA to develop the Filipino workforce with world-class competence and positive work values under President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s 10-point agenda.
Under the10-point agenda and the President’s economic reforms are putting the country’s fiscal house in order, sustaining investment confidence, and fostering the political and economic climate for more jobs and better social services. (PIA-10
