The Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT) is intent on adding Tagbilaran City and Tuguegarao to its list of areas being promoted for business process outsourcing (BPO).

Presently, 17 areas in the country have been identified as having existing investments in the BPO industry. Commissioner Monchito Ibrahim is working to expand the list to 22 and identify these areas as information and communications technology hubs.

Although a relatively young industry, the BPO industry is estimated to generate an annual revenue of US$5 billion, which is close to half the annual remittances from overseas Filipino workers.

A few months ago, the provincial government was reportedly initiating plans with the PLDT on how to upgrade Tagbilaran's wire communications network to fiber-optics to make the city feasible for BPOs.

Benne,

So ang remittances natong mga OFW matag tuig, naa sa US$10 billion diay. Pun-an pa aning US$5 billion = US$15 billion atong expected matag tuig gikan sa manpower export.

Grace mao ni ang gi ingong ni Jess Tirol sa usa sa iyang column nga two kinds of economy: Growing and Expanding (also known as traditional economy).

Wala man niya ma explain maayo ang buot ipasabot ani.

Example of investors that does not benefit is Franchise type of business like foreign brand fast food. Although it benefits the Traditional Economy in form of Employment, the growing Economy is not benefited because we are buying foreign owned product which will benefit foreign firms ug nakuhaan atong kwarta kay mo palit man ta nila. Moreover, we are spending precious fuel to cook the burgers plus fuel for delivery, electricity etc., so in general, gansi ta.

The foreign investor which really benefits both Traditional and Growing Economy is outsourcing type, like call centers and recruitment agencies. This is a form of Export, manpower export. Wala tay puhonan ani kon di ang atong health and education. Pero ang atong gobierno ilang gi neglect ang health ug education which is our primary asset.

Probably Ben & Grace, I will not be able to attend the Grand EB. There are unexpected changes in the company where I am in and it needs my presence. We acquired 5 more world renowned brands: Alberto Culver (Tresemme): Hair Care, Brics: Italian Handbags, Cavalli: Sunglasses & Frames from Italy, Sugar Free: Sweetener, Airtec & Carlton: Luggages.

I explained to my boss that it is possible to serve your company without paying emotional toll of being away from home and loved ones through internet & modern communications. I explained to him the concept of outsourcing.

My boss, being a first generation businessman finds it hard to understand this concept. However, he seems absorbs major points. Should I succeed on this, I will go for good this year and serve his company from the comfort of my home under Bohol sun. Furthermore, I will organize a team for this purpose. The nature of the job is mainly office works and correspondence in purchasing, forecasting and logistics. Starting with one company is the single step and soon it will serve two, three until it becomes a big firm.

Moreover, I gave my boss the set up of Bausch&Lomb as a good example, where their head office is in New York, thier distribution and logistics in France, warehouses and shipping in Italy and Netherlands and manufacturing in Brazil. All of their components are functioning with precise coordination. It seems that they are just a room away from each other. This is outsourcing in action and my boss seems to get the concept and all I need is to follow-up with him.

Hi Macky,

I'll pray for your success in this endeavor. I myself am experimenting with how to do my translation and cargo forwarding business electronically so I could spend most of my time home. On my next trip home, I'll try to set up a little and see if things could work. Though my wife is doing a great job, my teenagers need a father.

Macky, like of products ninyo ang Cavalli?  :o  Oh my Goodness!  Daghan na diay Cavalli bags si Johde, Macks?  Aguy kalami ana oi pero pirte man na kamahal na mga bags tawon oi!

Grace, I myself can not afford them, they are too expensive at $250 a piece for just a handbag. I have samples of Cavalli and Bricks from supplier, but it is half the bag. That means the other half is scissored/cut off; it is just for just quality presentation.

This product needs niche marketing since it is a high end product. Our company opened exclussive shop in malls and extensive branding awareness. During launching of this product, we hired russian promo girls who looks like Italians to serve sandwiches, Italian pastries and drinks at the showrooms in Dubai. We placed a shiny Itallian scooter as props of the display. The best attraction we made is an Italian violinist serenading our guests. Our objective is to create an Italian atmosphere inside our shop since the products are Italian.

Benne, thanks for your prayers.

Ngek!  Kasayang sa bag gipikas man diay! For a Cavalli, 250 is not that bad kay kasagaran average ug 500 dollars.  Oh well.  Outrageous na jud na na kantidad.  I have a friend whose sister went for a European tour last week.  Gi surprise akong friend gipabuhatan ug Italian bag from the manufacturer jud mismo with my friend's initial!  I wish I also had one!

Italian handbags are mostly made of soft leather and as you know, properly cured leather will last to 40 years. So, you may consider the handbag as a lifetime companion and a piece of jewelry.
