wow....sounded like you had a really bad experience...so sorry to hear it! Men and women have the same dilemma of finding the right person. We women do not have it easier...it's still a struggle.

I cant believe you came all the way from Spain.  What prompted you to go to the Philipines anyway?

Anyway, here's my email ccaztn@aol.com if you'd like to chat more.  It's so cumbersome to keep on opening this site...hehehe!

Keko, that's another big dilemma....who are the right people? I was visited Philippines in September and I was completely lost....so my family guided me through a lot of places.  I only hanged out with very few old friends.

I think I need a different strategy! heheheh  ;D  ;D  ;D It's a jungle out there..hehehe!

Concerncitizen, do you have a background in law or studied law? With due respect, I believe I do understand the law pretty well, afterall I am a lawyer.

Cheers!

Well excuse me for sounding a bit ignorant, however, as far as I know even if the governor does not have the full responsibility of legislating the elected governor MJST communicate with the Legislature during each calendar year regarding the condition of the province and make recommendations. Furthermore, isnt the governor required to submit itemized budget to the legislature. Doesn't the governor also have the power and authority to veto any bill passed by the legislature and return it with objections to the house of origin?

That said, a full understanding of the workings of legislature is of utmost important and I should say mandatory.

One of the primary duties of a governor is to see that the law is faithfully executed. Without the fulll understand of how laws are created by the legislature how do you suppose a governor can effectively and efficiently perform his duties?

Cheers!

I like Cesar as an actor, however, can he legislate?  What are Chatto's credentials? This is not a popularity contest rather than the future of the Philippines is at state here.

Vote wisely!  Good luck!

Attitude and outlook in life helps so much! I am into extreme sports and activities, i.e. skydiving, rock climbing, scuba diving, zumba, swimming, tennis, rollerblading, and riding my harley.  It's not only exhilarating but it releases all the tensions and stresses I have.

I stay away from negative people because they tend to also bring you down. So, surround yourself with happy and positive people. Don't sweat the small stuff!   :-*  :-*  :-*

Lastly, find inner peace! Be at peace with yourself and with others!

My first question is: What has he done so far to merit such a vote for presidency? I have not heard anything much about him until his mother passed away and he somehow capitalized on that popularity.

Vote wisely!

Being single is nice for a while but there I always prefer to be married. I hate going on dates... it is so calculated and rehearsed.  One day I will find my right match.  Sorry, I do not want an old person. I am very active and I want someone that can keep up with my pace, you know what I mean?  ;)  ;)  ;)

He's out there somewhere! If you find him, will you tell him I'm looking for him?  LOL

I DO NOT sweat the small stuff. Life is too short to ponder on small things. I never hold a grudge on anyone, forgive those that done wrong to me, and forgive myself for things I've done to others.

Exercise, eat well, have some fun, and lots of sex...hehehe!

Now, my secret is out!

General Topic / Re: Okra good against diabetes
December 10, 2009, 07:11:04 AM
I believe this is a very new study and has not yield sufficient scientific results as far as getting rid of diabetes. However, one proven way of getting rid of diabetes is thru gastric bypass surgery which only qualifies morbidly obese individuals. Eating okra might help reduce your sugar level as long you also minimize intake of starchy or carbohydrates and of course maintain a daily regimen of exercise. Eating okra alone does not eliminate diabetes although it would be beneficial for your body.

I am a Type 2 diabetic and there is no way to get rid of it but there is a good chance of my diabetes advancing to Type 1.

Have a wonderful day.

Yes we do give a separation package.... a minimum of 2 wks pay plus 1 wk pay for each year employed full time with the company after the 5th year.  It is actuallly very generous compared to several companies. As the CFO of the company, it does break my heart to make recommendations like this but I also have to think about the hundreds of employees still left.

Happy Holidays!  Ciao

Made a presentation and proposal to shut down one of our non-revenue generating facilities.  It will be shut down after the holidays.  It's a smaller facility and will affect only about 10 people unlike the last one in Nevada which laid-off 35 people. Being a CFO is a heart-breaking role sometimes.

Preparing my Christmas trip to Canada....I can't wait just to get away and hang out with old friends.

In all honesty, it will take me a lifetime to discover my own self....how much more discovering your partner.  Sometimes, the challenge of discovering each other is part of growing and nurturing of the relationship.  Other times, it could mean the parting of ways. No one can ever predict but we all take our chances..... a chance to find happiness with the one we are with, right?

I couldn't agree with you more Hofelina! I am born Catholic (Roman) and will die a catholic, however, it does not necessarily mean believers of other faiths are less than ours. My first husband is Catholic but his family was dysfunctional, my second husband is Muslim and we clash more his culture than religion, and might even marry a protestant!
It is how you live your life and how you treat people that makes you a good person..... regardless of your faith!

The ship is a symbol of your journey in life and from birth to death. In a man's dream, the ship represents his longing to love a woman. Being a passenger on a ship, you are dissatisfied with your life and want a change. Boarding the wrong ship, take a close look at your professional and personal relationships and goals - you have made wrong decisions. The "shio pf your life" can bring you to happy as well as unhappy places.

Dreaming of excrement, you have gained new insight from past experiences. Seeing or stepping in excrement is a good omen: personal matters are resolved in your favor and to your satisfaction.

Hope this helps you!

Never underestimate your role as a housewife... that is a huge task that involves 24/7 attention to details otherwise your children and/or partner are not fed on time, dont have clean clothes to wear, dont have clean house to come home to, dont have a nurse to take care of them when they are sick, etc.

Somehow I was the favorite with the Benedictine nuns so I always ended up best in religion in grade school and high school. I excelled in music because of my piano background and singing voice.

College - I love the debate classes, management, and finance classes.  I did not like accounting so much....who knew I ended up taking another BS in the US majoring in Accounting...hehehe! I dated a young economics professor - but not my professor.

I cried this afternoon and it came with my terrible migraine.  I will be travelling to Nevada next week to shut down one of our facilities which means I will be laying off all the employees in that facility.  It's a terrible feeling...I do the budgets and forecasting as a CFO and therefore made this proposal to the president of the company who also agreed with me.  It's the only way the whole company can survive at this dwindling economy.  This is the 3rd facility I had to shut down within this year.

Hello Misty, I like the fact that you are still forgiving and yet firm on your ground.  We women should not tolerate repeated unfaithfulness from our partner.  I asked the same question.... would he grant you the same if you have been unfaithful to him?

Lorenzo, I really admire you for being faithful to your partner! That is a rarity these days and I hope you stay the same.

Sometimes people cheat because they need to take time or space from their partner, dissatisfied with theri relationship which means they are probably ready to move on/out - which brings us to our question few days ago that I believe it is important that divorce should be mandated in the Philippines.

You and I have experienced unfaithful partners and it has traumatized us beyond belief but we do not give up, right!
Good luck to you!

This is very interesting topic especially with the filipinos' double standard.  A lot of filipino men are habitual cheaters and it is almost accepted by our society and forgiven by their partner.  I have asked several men this question "Would you expect your partner to forgive you if you were caught cheating? and most of them said yes.  Turned the tables around, if they caught their partner cheating, their answer would be "hell no!"

What do you think?

Thank you for patiently waiting!

I believe I have already mentioned earlier in this discourse that older women (not all) has gone through their share of experiences that most men are attracted to. I consider myself a cougar - very different from just "older women". WE COUGARS are financially and emotionally stable, we stay fit and take care of our body, looks, and stays DELICIOUS all the time, (yes, a little vain, hehehe). I for one, loves to have sex and I dont mean just a 1-2-3- bang thank you mam-goodbye, but a long, slow and passionate love making that does not limit to a missionary position.  I roll with the punches in life, doesnt sweat the small stuff in life. I dont like to play games like younger women because they are of course immature. I do not like "drama" and stay away from people that brings them... they tend to be very disastrous.

Bottom line.... yeyyyyyy, OLDER WOMEN ROCKS! We know how to get things done, we know what we want although sometimes not know how to get them just like the rest of the women population. This is my honest opinion.

#79
The only constant in this world is change itself. So it is inevitable that ALL of us change one way or another. Couples get married because they love each other and there is always that thought it will last forever. WE ALL change and that is something no one can deny. Couples stay married for varied reasons and the greatest of all would be love, children, compatibility, emotional and financial security, status, etc. When couples change parallel with each other during their union, they stay together. However, when couples change in different directions that is when it crumbles. NO ONE intends to be divorced when they get married but things change and people chnage - that is why we get divorced. It is better to be away from each other than to stay miserably with someone.

It is pretty naive to think and/or believe that couples do not change throughout the course of their union. That is just absolutely a lie!
#80
Nevertheless, just "irreconcilable differences" alone does not meet the legal requirements under Philippines law.  Divorce law does!

Ciao
#81
Unfortunately, most people that are legally separated in the Philippines does not meet the legal requirements for their marriage to be annulled.  There are also two kinds of annullment, one from the Philippines law and the other from the Roman Catholic Church law.

The divorce, I believe, is the ultimate mandate for legally separate couples who are anticipating getting married once again.

Ciao
#82
Glace, it is not necessary to amend legal separation.  In family law that is a separate mandate. Legal separation is merely a law that would protect both parties in regards to their assets, obligations, custody, etc. Legal separation enables both parties to divide their assets, obligations, etc. accordingly.  I believe Philippines has community property law which gives equal division of everything couples own during the time of their marriage.  When I say equally, it also would be determined by the length of their union, children, etc.

Divorce, however, would allow both parties to legally remarry.  Without divorce, both parties and most especially women are at a loss. Starting over would be very difficult.  The annulment portion is also another process especially if the couple were married in a catholic church.  Annulment takes several years..... mine took 8 yrs. This allows me to remarry in a catholic church again.

Hope this info helps a bit!

Ciao
#83
I believe there should be divorce in the Philippines.  I have noticed that when the men (husbands) leaves their family, the burden of raising the children is almost always left to the wife while the husband starts over again with someone else.  The legal separation does not give enough equity on the part of the women in the Philippines and I find that outrageous.  Women (wives) are left to mend their broken heart and try to find ways to make ends meet.  Women are often times left at a loss - financially, emotionally, etc.

Nope. Ex husband - handsome, strong body, financially stable, strong family ties (but only with his family, not with mine), sometimes cooks, jealous, possessive, gambler, unfaithful, and a liar. I was more his financial partner.

Ex bfs - young, tall, handsome, big  ;); high energy, not financially stable, loving, cooks well, emotionally secure, a lot more good and bad qualities.

Future - remains to be seen! I guess I will know when I meet him, right?

Love Talk / Re: The Sexiest Scent for Women

I have always been told it's my fresh natural scent especially coming out of a shower - not camouflage with perfumes.  It's the fresh smell of my breath.

I would have to say, I like the same with men.... just natural smell of his skin especially after a good shower (with me, hehehe). I do not like men that wears too much cologne...eweee!

Love Talk / Re: DESCRIBE YOUR LOVED ONE...
November 08, 2009, 05:51:25 AM
Are you referring to your LOVED one(s) - those people that you loved? OR are you referring to those you LOVE NOW?

Just want to clarify before I make a statement!

My dream was about watching few men shooting each other! I was the only spectator.
I actually consulted my book of dreams and I'd like to see if you have the same analysis.
