Inspiration & Hope / Re: Dont QUIT!
May 29, 2009, 11:11:49 AM
It's true.

Many times I feel like quitting in my walk with God, but I'm reminded that He'd never quit on me.
I experienced that when I once backslided. He just pulled me back. He won't let go.

But of course don't make it an excuse for you to just walk away from Him easily...

Don't give up. Even when we don't understand why things are the way they are right now.
Just trust Him. Yes, times of nothingness may come, but sometimes it's meant to be so that we'd come close to Him.

I'm a Christian, but to my shame, I've not honored my mom as I should have, even when I was already in the ministry.  :-[ I did things my way. And it did not go well.  >:( My mom got so discouraged. I'm not in any way proud of my foolishness - looking righteous on the outside, but at home, very willful and stubborn and insensitive. I remember last Mother's Day we had the worst quarrel at home. So bad that my Kuya had to beat me up a bit. But I've confessed my sins of rebellion, pride and arrogance to the Lord, and I know that as I have repented, I know and I can sense His forgiveness. However, we're still in a process of recovery.

So I say to all of you out there. Don't do my serious mistake. Being successful at school or at work and being involved in the ministry doesn't override our mother's authority over us, even when we're leaving teen-age years and want independence.  :-X Glorify God in all our relationships, especially in those relationships that not everyone can notice -- like the one with our own mom.

Inspiration & Hope / Re: No Time for God?
May 29, 2009, 10:45:57 AM
It really ain't easy, even as a Christian. :'( I'm a full-time government scholar, with several ministries at hand. Many times, I get caught up with so many church activities and studying, that there's no time anymore to pray before the day starts.  :-[ But I have to break through, and get back to the basics of personal devotion. I thank God He's helping me towards that direction, and now I find myself drawing people to God, this time, not as a duty, but as a joy.  :) Even just simple encouraging texts to friends or invitations to services. I realize it's impossible to go on with life without drawing near to Him in a daily basis.
