Robbers kill victims, so as not to recognized and prosecuted.
If that is so, then why some are left alive? Because they do not poses a threat.

Think how it may felt to the husband to recognize the thief, maybe some “old family friend of the brides”.
To be shot by the very friend who sat at your table and drank your wine.

Today I was offered a lot on Panglao Island. Great piece of land, view, water power, road.
Sale price because of the sellers other investments going bad.
I turned him down, where as a year ago I would have snapped it up.
It’s a sad thing, and I miss the Bohol of past, but its like someone said,
many new faces now on Bohol.
Sometimes I write here hopping someone stands up and argues with me,
tells me the dream still lives.
Unfortunately this has not happened. The veil of smiles is growing thinner.
Don’t think this is a Bohol problem. I know it’s worldwide.
Somehow I hoped a little corner of some forgotten island had the peace I seek.
Maybe paradise lives in books best read behind high walls.
Find peace and happyness where you can,
take great pleasure from simple things

The Angles education system.
Never become worth more dead than alive.

Welcome to the big time Bohol.
Army gorillas in Garcia Hernandez, street gang signs everywhere, questionable tourist police. Speed drug use skyrocketing. Foreigners are expectable targets.
What is going on? My plans are definitely on a cold hold for Bohol.
Is this another, Bangkok, Manila or Cebu?
I have to read about this in the Gulf Times.
Where is the reporting and fallow up?
Dumaguete, Siquijor, here I come.
Your big time Bohol.  This road does not go both ways.
Your headed down a long road to California.

Sincerest prayers for the Martin’s family and friends.

As a foreigner with aspirations for investments on Bohol this case has several concerns: Never become “more valuable dead than alive”.
Showing great wealth in country where marital contracts are in dispute may not be wise.
The police are not trusted fundamentally.
This is a case of contract killing for gain and not one of overall societal safety.
The excepted and expected practice of overcharging foreigners carries deeper problems.
If foreigners are viewed as excepted targets crime at all levels will continue and prosper.
I welcome your input and in no way mean to show disrespect in this drastic tail.

The perp is being as an engineer for Yahoo. No relation to the gang problem we have here. A problem that is growing in Bohol. The tags are there for you to see. Bloods in Red. Crips in Blue. Violent gangs are suspected in 12 killings in the city I live near this year alone. 25 last year. Salinas California. Calling out one violent gang is not productive. They are local and territorial. Killings are done within gangs and against
Ex-members, as well as nongang members. Gangs are family to these young people. They do not believe you can turn your back on your family.
