basing from the post above, do you think money was the sole reason that drove the suspect from committing the crime?
the number of stabs showed profound anger and hatred...
one, two, three stabs, i guess, is enough to make a person bleed to death...
but 24? (some newspaper says 22)....
hu-hoomm...

24 is more of a show of panic from some one who does not know how to kill in a few blows...MONEY is the most logical theory....I have already posted my take on this issue on previous threads....Ebarita was the provebial "goose that should lay the golden egg" for the suspect. The suspect and the victim have known each other for about a year or so. There is no plausible reason why the suspect/s would kill or hurt the victim just for anger or "love's" sake...

Intervention by hometown politicians on the suspect's behalf kinda makes you wonder... maybe somebody influential was in the group that did the deed. And maybe that's why ms. suspect would rather rot in jail than blow the whistle on them. She would still be the mastermind though, if you consider my speculation in my first post, if she was the one who arranged the whole she-bang for these dudes from home. And for those of you who said that my theory (about the victim being setup by the suspect to be the 'pulutan' of some guys she could have owed a lot to, promising them a wild time at the expense of the her close friend) was too morbid. Read Cebu Daily News' headline today, about an 18-year old girl gang-raped and held captive by a group of four men for a week but fortunately escaped before being murdered. That almost ended like Lynn Vi's case if the 18-year old hadn't gotten away. So my point is: my speculation wasn't too morbid at all. It could have been the whole purpose of the get-together but apparently went wrong and the crooks had to resort to Plan B, as one member here referred to the gruesome murder... --my ten centavos' worth.

Your speculation is not morbid nor is it a figment of imagination. As I have said time and again, this theory about the perpetrator making something (money, favor in return) out of this happening is the most logical motive of them all. For those people who still believe that this is a crime of passion or hatred or envy, their perception of what motivates people to commit gruesome atrocities against another person/s is very shallow.

naabot ang pitaka sa balay ni jonelle kay nitabang c jonelle ug pagpanglimpyo sa mga killer.... hehehhe... mangatawa ta... :)

It is possible all those involved met in Enfectana's house, with some of Ebarita's belongings, of course, to hatch out a plan after the killings. What is not clear or known to Enfectana is that it is every man for himself/herself at that point and she could have been set up also. Those others who were involved may have very well planted some of Ebarita's belongings in her house so that when a future search is done, evidences would be found in her "possession".

She could make an alibi by saying that Ebarita left her belongings to her and never saw the victim again...she could use that as a defense...

then we should say na mas safe pa sa prison if ing ana man gani ang situation kay kon adto sa gawas, walay moprotect niya...huh! lisora no? siguro if ms. enfectana is really involved kahibalo na man siguro siya sa mga consequences before ni niya or nila gibuhat.

No place is "safe", really, but if the choice is inside the cell or the street, the former is the logical choice. One's basic instinct is to preserve one's own life....family, friend, etal are just secondary....

Why the philippine government is perpertually corrupt? Introduce the jury system this coming election 2010.

The failure to find the right solution to the perpetual government corruption in the Philippines is due, in fact, to the failure of knowing its fundamental cause. The compadre system often blamed as its chief cause is not, but a mere product of, a basic underlying cause - wrong analysis equals wrong solution.

The basic cause: The disenfranchisement of the people by the government of their participation in the justice system is the primary and ultimate cause of government corruption. Like in almost all corrupt governments of many countries, the Philippine justice system is a total government monopoly which primarily benefits, directly or indirectly, government officials while the people are mere secondary beneficiaries and treated like second class citizens after the elections. Public officials are not afraid of the people because the Filipino people have no clout in their justice system.

The ultimate solution to make Philippine public officials more fearful of abusing their authority is to implement the supreme power of the Filipino people, as declared in their Constitution, by way of establishing a device for their participation in the Philippine justice. Without such a device, the people's sovereign authority is nothing but a toothless power no matter how much they demonstrate that power in the streets. The people should be the boss in their justice system and not the other way around.

The Filipino People Have Supreme Powers But They Are Beggars of Justice

The Filipino people's assertion for justice cannot be heard on their side because their voices are disenfranchised. Their show of force in the streets is merely an informal statement of their will but fundamentally they are just beggars of justice because public demonstration is not a formally organized body of citizens that is capable of an orderly investigation of the misconduct of public officials upon which they can base their decision to indict or convict and to send corrupt officials to jail.

We may be wondering why the Philippines is not as stable as the United States although we have copied, and tried to improve, the American Constitution and also in spite of the fact that we are comparably well educated as the American people are. Any Filipino who has lived in the U.S. knows this. The BASIC CAUSE for the wide disparity of the social stability between the U.S. and the Philippines is due to the EXCELLENT JUSTICE SYSTEM in the U.S. compared to its poor counter-part in the Philippines. In the U.S., the highest dynamic authority of justice are exercised by the common American people, and not by their government officials. The supreme authority of justice in the Philippines is totally the opposite - the Philippine government is the boss. In the U.S., the people are the real boss of justice. American prosecutors and judges need to show their evidence to the people upon which the people make their decision to indict or to convict a public official or any person who commits a major crime. They accomplish this by means of their local direct representative groups, called Grand Juries (to secretly investigate and indict) and Trial Juries (to publicly try and convict).

I AM DEFINITELY IN FAVOR OF THE JURY SYSTEM>>>

Are you a psychologist? "Most criminals, if not caught, will repeat their crime due to psychological problems."

Best friend becomes your horrible enemy.

A best friend is the person you share a significant portion of your self with and receive the same in exchange. They usually know your thoughts, feelings, desires and deepest secrets. They have been beside you during times of turbulence and also celebrated your every success.

Your best friend has the power to hurt you more than any other person, possibly because they have been exposed to what you think and feel. They understand what motivates you, as well as what breaks you down. After lowering your defenses in a relationship based on total trust, they can be a dangerous ally. They've had a glimpse into your heart and mind and know ways to use it against you.

"Don't repay evil for evil. Don't retaliate when people say unkind things about you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God wants you to do, and He will bless you for it."  1 Peter 3:9

If it is true that some politicians have intervened, it is safe to

assume that there may be bigger personalities involved. As I and a

couple of bloggers have said on previous threads, Enfectana may have

"delivered" Ebarita to her would be assailants (not immediately

killers at that point). She did not necessarily stab the victim nor she had any plans of having someone deliberately kill the victim. If a criminal can get away with the loot, there is no need for collateral damage. No need to kill someone unless necessary. Blackmail is still the motive here and it is a big possibility that the victim was given as payment to these personalities or for gaining something in return. I see that Enfectana needs money badly.

She would go to great lenghts (not necessarily killing) because of

this. A sex vid of the victim plus a "gift" (in the person of Vi) to those personalities are just too much to resist. Enfectana would have gained a lot on this had the situation not gone hay wire. She would have Ebarita on her hands (forever). Personally, I

think that Enfectana is now covering up for some people. There could be a possible threat to her life and her family. The other

personalities who may be involved here have an upper hand. Assuming

that those unidentified are true blooded psychopaths, do not expect to hear anything from them. They would rather harass their fellow accomplice (Enfectana) than deal with the law. Enfectana, on the other hand, would rather deal with the law than take a chance dealing with those still unidentified personalities. It is a choice between the lesser evil for her.

Yup, titus! Totally agree. That was precisely the point I was making nga guilty as sin gihapon ni ang suspect bisan dili siya mao mismo ang nag-patay kay she was the one who sold her friend to those people from hell. Luoy kaayo oi. I got a lot of friends who are a lot like the victim so I totally sympathize sa family... But who knows? Maybe she was the one who did it--with the others holding down the victim? Makes you wonder.

Yup.Might very well be a case of planned blackmail. The main
perpetrator of this crime wanted to make money out of this AND
THAT'S THE MOST LOGICAL MOTIVE. Going for the money, shooting a sex
video of the victim was the most probable thing to do. The materials
were available (camera, hotel room, etc.) and there could not have
been a better situation, with all the merry-making around and the
"availability" of the victim. This is the same theory by a couple of
bloggers here also it made the most sense. The victim knew the
killer/s. If there were several people in that room that night, it
does not follow that all of them were involved. Killing the victim
was a spur of the moment thing. The 24 stab wounds explains that the
killer is an amateur, who most likely panicked, and did not know how
to inflict "real damage" with lesser stabs. The number os stab
wounds has little or nothing to do with hate or anger (towards the
victim). Yes, the victim was BETRAYED. For some reason, she (Vi)
hooked herself with someone she did not fully know. Many people
sympathize with the victim. I sympathize with her and her family
too. But was it ever asked why she got involved with the assailant
on the first place. That is important too because by knowing that, a
good insight of who really killed her can be established.

Hi! Hope you all won't mind my pitching in. I've been disturbed about this tragedy ever since I read it in the papers last week... she could have been any one of my female friends. My condolences to the victim's family--what a loss!

react lang ko Swede...yup...that's my theory and take too. I hate to say it but I think they are about to do something wild(er) that night. Too bad it went hay wire. It's a combination of Plan A and Plan B. Plan A being, if the victim subscribes to what her companions would do then all goes "well". Unfortunately things went array and plan B just needed to be employed. Plan B by the way was a far-fetched idea of killing the victim if Plan A fails (which it did). I Personally do not know the people involved here. I do not wish to speculate or judge that the victim was liberal herself. The garbage bags and the knife were too easy to be picked up. Anybody could have brought a knife in. The bags and tape can be picked up from the nearest store. Sure, Enfectana, may have panicked but she is still equally liable to the victim's death. She was the one who fed her to the lions.
