That probably is the reason why our private sector is keen on the reclamation. Avoiding the nitty-gritty of dealing with difficult circumstances in acquiring "large areas" for their proposed investments. We have to accept the fact that it is the private sector who runs our economy. The government only lays down the basic.

In fairness, duna baya pod koy nakita nga advantage ana nga reclamation. For example, easier na ang pagpatuman sa mga balaod or regulations kay contained man siya; sayon pagbutang og basic facilitites or common service facilities like waste treatment, etc. Kay kon maghisgot ta og damage to the environment, daghan baya nga damage are happening and we see it everyday, yet we "do not see". Kining gitawag og cummulative effect sa carelessness and insensitivity to manage both solid and liquid wastes from coastal households and from resorts.

Bantayan lang gyud nga during construction and during operation, minimal ang damage nga mahimo sa marine life, dili kaayo ma hamper ang movement sa seawater, etc. Kini gud nga stage karon murag pre-feasibility pa man tingali ni. Then the Local Government needs to create its Environmental monitoring team dili lang para ana nga reclamation, kon dili hasta pod para sa uban pa nga mga establishments diha sa panglao that are also causing damage to both the coastal and marine ecosystem, as well as on the terrestrial.

This is just my ten cents worth... ug mga panahom... isip usa ka kinhason

such arrogance and self righteousness... hypocrisy of pharisees in the modern world!

Why cant we just all accept that we all have sinned and worthy of the punishment? Have we not destroyed our forests, and polluted our waters and our air?

kadto bitaw rain sa december 31 which caused flooding in many parts of Bohol, and which also affected Rosarion (Camayaan) in Cortes and Malayo Sur (near the barangay hall). But it was fortunate nga walay mga families nga badly affected. Kadtong sa Camayaan was near the bridge on the way to Balilihan where there are rice paddies duol sa kanipaan.

Pero murag ang dili makaya sa Cortes mao ang among water supply especially the Kalooy spring source. This source supplies tap water to 4 or 5 barangays including the Poblacion. A few hours rain would surely result to murky water coming from out faucets. This has been the cry of many cortesanons especially those who cannot afford to buy purified water. I heard from a reliable source that this waters source had already been tested by DOH-PHO and results showed E. coli coming from both human and animal wastes.

Mura mag walay gihimo ang LGU to improve this revenue -generating enterprise.

Corruption is a manifestation of a decaying moral value. Ug kana nga moral degradation makit-an nato bisan asa nga suok sa kalibutan. ug kay ang Pinoy, di man jud magpa-uwahi lagi, mao na nga kita maoy pinaka-.

We tend to point an accusing finger at each other forgetting that in the process, three fingers point in our direction. It's not only the state, it's not only the church. we all are. Mas klaro lang ang corruption diha sa gobyerno kay mao man na ang kanunay ma-highlight sa atong mga television, broadsheets, radio, etc. labi na kay we claim to be part of the institution. That is, in the spirit of "pagpakabana", we cry "foul" to these wrong doings. But aren't we part of the corrupt system.

If the mission of changing the system is a far cry, then let's do our share in our own little ways. "...it is better to light just one little candle... than curse the dark..."

Let's make today a brand new day. Let's start by knowing where we are....

ikaw caminero (kamanero, etc.

and if you answer "yes" to any one of these questions... either we are already corrupt, or are prone to corruption.... so we need to re-align our lives a little...

Nakahinumdom ko nga sa bata pa ko, ang akong kinabuhi, in one way or another, touches that of the sacred ube. My grandfatehr and ancestors were famous ube farmers in Cortes. I have been observant as a kid. But when i grew up and studied agriculture, i found out nga duna diay toy scientific relevance ag ijang gihimo.

Panaglitan kining mosunod:
1. Pag-baow - clearing the area from unnecessary weeds, shrubs, etc. ibilin ang kahoy nga sobra sa 2 meters ka taas = kay gamiton para katayan sa ube

3. Pagguwad - maghimo og hutok para tamnan. Individual nga hutok matag punoan. (Think of the soil type nga batoon, topography nga bakilid, etc which makes it even harder)

5. Pag-guha - hiwa-on ang binhi nga ube mga 2-inches x2 inches each (kadtong wala madunot o mangunot ang panit), disdisan  (halibisan sa kilid) ug i-air dry for half day. = aron ma seal off ang unod, dili malata ug dili susceptible to fungal infection inig tanom

6. Pagtanom ug pagpaabot hangtod moturok. Buntag ug hapon pa-asohan aron walay mananap or pests. Usahay kon taas ang huwaw, bubo-an pa jud og tubig.

And mind you, dili sa tanan panahon nga dagko ang ube nga mapanlin. Or should I say, the reward was not worth the effort?  Suway ba mo...
