Im amazed that you remember everything people say Bene san! Yeah i have  seasonal depression and i dont want to hide it to everyone. This happens every winter, agi nga mo ngitngit ug sayo. I dont like dark jud! Mao nga i always have to live in a bright lighted house, (im lucky i always have).  Getting dark (sundown/kilum-kilom/ dusk) is making me crazy jud, i dont know why. When i had that severe depression before it messed with my panic attack pa jud! I experienced that when i was all alone. And i found out nga work out ray maka relieve sa akong depression so far i never tried medications pa, i hope it will never happen, but we'll never know...

Bella, there is a kind of theraphy I've seen in Ripleys Believe it or not.

In Northern Europe, you can find in spas a room all painted in white (roof, floor and 4 corners) and it is brightly lighted. The name is white light theraphy and you will be placed there for 1 hour at weekly session.

This will cure seasonal depression and anxiety.

I've seen the PDA last night and thier guest was Martin Nievera. He preached some tips regarding career as singers or actors.

Here are some life tips from that session:
1. Career is like going up a stair. The people you met going up are the same people you will meet going down. So, you must not forget the crowd that puts you to the top.

2. There is only one unique you, so be yourself or you can not survive in the industry. You can not represent any character, but your own self. Like singers can not immitate voices and styles, but they have to perform by thier own style.

Because the dentist and nurse can kill her husband silently with injection. While the cook can only kill the husband with knife, thus husband can shout.

My kids names are:

Jonah Pia: Jonah (boy's name) because at first, the ultra-sound reading told she is male, but when delivered a girl. Pia (born April 4, same my grandmother Pia's Birthday)

Mark Sean: Mark (Macky) Saint Mark the appostle. Sean (Irish for John), Saint John the baptist, also my late father-in-law's name. Born, June 12 Phil. Indipendence day. My wife July 4, American Independence day.

Candice Mary:Candice (means fire white, candle) because she was very white when born. Mary (mother of Jesus) Born in Oct month of Mary.

Baby Matt: My wife had a miscarriage last Jan 13 and my Kids called the baby Matt (maybe because they are fans of Baby Matt). It sounds scarry but as I told you before that every 13th of the month, my cell phone would light up suddenly and make a toot sound like it is re-booting and it hangs for around 10 minutes, then back to normal again. I don't know if somebody is playing a game on us. My kids are used to it and they are waiting every 1:00am every 13th of the month. Last night it happened and they said baby Matt is visiting again.

Scarry!

Our neighbor's baby name is "Skyler". I don't know from where they got that name.

Filipinos are too involved in politics.

How can a country attain economic stability if there is no peace, if we are not united? How can the filipino nation focus on growth if it is contstantly disturbed by political issues, driven by self-interest?

I see no love/service of country, but self-interest amongst our leaders.

Shame on you politicians!

The flower pendant pinned on my left breast of the rented barong tagalog is vivid to my memory. There were asparagus leaf, orchids, kalachuchi and white flower that looks like otot-otot. All organically grown and hand picked from our backyard. The toga was a travelling steam sauna, heat and humidity unbearable. Our hairstyle, schollarly look "murag gi tilaan ug baka" (my father's pomade consumed), not to mention the girls "nag lokdo ug pan insaymada" some overdone hair-do.

After the speaker said the word "congratulations", all hats were tossed up in the air, like retaliating troops of flying saucers launched from an allien mother ship.

Kanosa to nila abrihan ang Cabernet Sauvignon. Maayo pa ila nalang to isagol ani nga recipe.

There is only one reason why they are overstaying and that is because they love the place and they are well accepted, well respected. Most of these people are pensioners. If they stay in thier home country, they are poor, but if they stay in the Philippines, they are well respected and their pension have more buying power, compared to staying in thier home country. They are smart. I believe they are doing business for the sake of self sufficiency or for hobby. But I don't believe they are here for big time profits.

They tried to escape the pressures of living by investing thier time in Bohol.

However, these are with exceptions to Chinese people because generally, they are opportunists and doing things for big time profits and this profits will be hoarded back to China.

I am not talking about Fil-Chinese, which I have high respect like the Ongs, Uys and Lims. They are more than Filipinos and part of our economic progress.

What I am talking about are the new batches of Chinese (new comers). They are just profiting from us and enjoying our cheap labor. Some are even engaged in manufacturing illegal drugs in Manila.

Actually, I start to like the style of Ivyliz because she is Palaban sa Tinagawg pa. I like her style nga mo sukol gyud, but why leave?

Anything here is just for the sake of argument, a mental exercise and it is OK to dissagree on anyone's opinion, but to hate a person and be judgemental is another story.

Also about Aguiman3mm, I also start to like her style nga palaban, like she told a story about how she lambast an Indian co-worker who tries to show-off supperiority. But why lambast your fellow Boholano and co-member. We should support each other as Boholanos, like the Filipino First ideals of President Garcia.

I was in grade six when the HSS and UB decided to conduct a joint Jamboree at the former Magsaysay Camp now Raja Sikatuna National Park. Our scoutmaster was Mr. Pedro Marcojos and UB's scoutmaster was Mr. Dinsay. There were a total of 5 platoons all aboard 3 MB Liner (the old one colored dark brown with right side fully open). The memories are so vivid that I can hear the chanting of the kids.

As a kid, I could not contain the exitement that I could jump six feet for joy.

The activities were diffrent kinds of contests like chanting, drills, knot tying, field games, tent making, fire making, etc. Of course we have to cook our own food, which consist mainly of canned goods.

Night fell and there was the traditional camp fire in the middle of the forested surrounding that warmed the cold night. Bilar is like the temperature of Baguio due to its thick forest and high altitude. UB had a presentation of an Indonesian song "Disini Sinang" and we have that hiking song "We're on the upward trail" and some drama. We could barely sleep that night when the air is full of strange sounds from nucturnal creatures. You can hear the howls of lemurs and night owls that initated a horror story, and there were the loud pala-otots that broke the silence.

The next day, our activity was swiming at the cold spring water. The water was ice cold as it comes from the mountains. Then there was trail hiking inside the forest. We hike into the forest following a trail of sticks and scouting signs. Then there was simaphore signaling. Then hiden message finding (like treasure hunting) with given maps.

Next day is packing up day. Our causin came to see me as their house is just nearby. Then there was an old lady who sells native bibinka or rice cake. It was brown in color and very tasty. The size is around 12 inch in diameter with banana leaves as lining. I bought 3 and my mother was delighted as she told it is a special and baked from a native oven with coconut husk as fuel.

When we get back to the city, the truck driver could not bear our noise.

LGU Philippines / Re: The Legacy of Marcos
August 08, 2008, 09:31:26 PM
During the time of Marcos, the Peso vs. Dollar is 1:7. When it became 1:9 against the dollar, people start talking about overthrowing the government. What now?

During the Marcos regime, there is very low incidents of malnutrition. Filipinos were self sufficient in terms of food. There was a green revolution initiative and tree planting initiative. Everything can be done instantly by the power of signature through a presidential decree.

I am not a Marcos fanatic or supporter, but I am talking about real facts.

Now that we got genuine democracy after the Marcos regime, please folks don't complain. We got what we want, this is what we want. Now that we do not have a dictator, it is up to our individual attitude if we want progress or just live a simple life. We are free.

The only reason nga wala ta mo asenso is because we are playing business against our own countrymen and very few companies/individuals are venturing abroad. Business is a form of panglalamang. So, kinsa man ang imong nilamangan karon di ba ang imo rang kaugalingon nga kalahi?

So, the key is to invest in other countries para sila ang atong lamangan sa atong business strategies. Dako kaayo ang atong role and potential as OFW, since we are already here outside the country. However, Juan Tamad ang nagpairal sa atin & lack of self confidence.

Nursing is the most indemand profession 5 years back that many doctors studied nursing as a stepping stone for going to the US. But as per Mr. Bennelyn, Japanese hospitals are now employing Indonesian nurses. Other countries are now employing Chinese and Malaysian nurses as cheap alternative. Nursing in these countries are a two year course compared to 5 years standard. I considered them as fake nurses.

With cheap competition, we will end up being a country of "nurses without doctors" instead of "doctors without borders".

With the growing population of senior citizens, these so called fake nurses are now utilized as caregivers or midwives. They are a big threat to our genuine nurses. Our nurses should not accept such jobs which are humiliating to thier sacred profession.

I remembered the famous expression when I was in college: "Agay nars"

In any case, you should not force your children to take up courses which are against thier passion. It is like a forced marriage.

Question 10: What kind of drinks do they take when they eat? The water, where do they get it? Answer: They use no drinks. Some people obtained their water from conserving rainwater. The others obtained water from wells found a half-hour distant from the town center. (Note: This was at Lungkajab near the Birhen Sang Barangay Church in Cogon District. The pool is gone and water-well is already dry. - JBT).

I know this is "out of topic" but what the heck, I have to tell the truth about pinoy cpa's.

Starting in 2004, Filipino cpa's (particularly auditors) were being hired in large volumes by the big 4 auditors (i.e. PwC, Deloitte, E&Y, KPMG) to work in the US/UK/Australia/Ireland etc.  Several thousands of auditors (myself included) have left philippine firms like sgv, p&a, laya, & manabat for "greener pasture" abroad. Greener means having to work 7 hours a day instead of 16, and earning an equivalent of you annual philippine salary in just one month. Currently its not only the big 4 auditors who noticed the competence of filipino cpa's, the world's biggest like Citigroup, HSBC, etc. started hiring filipino number crunchers.  In the city where I work, one of the biggest employers of pinoy accountants is Citigroup.

I would say filipino cpa's are now at par with the world's best. Thanks to Enron and philippine's adoption of IFRS. After Enron's fall, US regulators changed the reporting requirements for public companies which requires accounting firms more people to do the audit. Philippine's full adoption of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) in 2005 was also a big factor, this made filipinos cpa's very familiar with accounting standards used in most countries.

What happened to Sir macky's friend a long time ago will no longer apply to today's pinoy cpa. At least not in the next two or three years.

Yeah, I guess that friend of mine spoiled his future by focusing too much on current job and not upgrading himself in new trends and developments. As a professional, it is so important to subscribe a magazine or online publications related to your profession or maybe you should involve yourself in clubs; i.e. accounting clubs or PICPA, etc. so you will share upgrades or new things. The world is constantly evolving.

Yeah, I heared about that UK giant accounting firm nga nang hire ug Asian Accountants (Filipinos and Indians).

Naa bitaw mi bag-o nga Indian Accountant nga hambugero kaayo. Mao nga napuno na mi mga pinoy ug among gi ingnan nga "why are you in Saudi and not in UK? That means you are not a high caliber accountant".

Tingali mahitabo na in times of extreme situations like Civil War. Like what happened in East Timor when their country is in civil chaos and Foreign governments must step in to intervene.

God forbid, if our situation leads us to civil war, the US can not just watch as we are allies. They must step in and intervene. As policy of the UN, a war torn country will be under a probationary rule of a host country until such time that the country can stand on its own. There is also an option weather to adopt that country after conducting a national referendum. Like what happened in Germany when the people/majority decided to join as one country.

Moreover, Philippines is in a very important strategic location that America wont allow us to fall in the wrong hands. Specially now that Iran and North Korea are developing ICBMs.

I guess Abu Sayaf and other forms of rebellion would die out naturally, even without military action. The logic is simple; if everyone is contempted, if living conditions are fair, there is no rebellion at first place. We have freedom of religion in the Philippines and I don't think there are hendrances in Islamic religion. Muslims will be given special treatment with no discrimination. Like in the US, they are well respected and with equal opportunities like any other Americans, there are Muslim professors, doctors, scientists, police, you name it.

No religion is preaching evil. It is human self interest that makes everything evil and the cause of all trouble.

Here is Saudi Arabia, we are working in harmony with Muslims for decades. Working in foreign culture teaches you humbleness, respect and open mindedness. Infact the Muslims are the closest twin of the Christians in terms of belief and prophets.

That i would go home and vote! honest! naa gani mo tunol nako ako jud insultohon! bisan kinsa pa sha! haaah!

Since long back, there is what we call Absentee Voting in the Philippine Embassy in Key cities around the world.

So unsa man ang among buhaton as OFW?

Like Puerto Rico, we will be given US citizenship, but we will remain an existing country. We will become like Hawaii, a tourist destination and retirement destination of the Americans.

Thanks Insurectus,

That line is the ten commandments of Engineering. It is found written at UB old Engineering Building in front of high school building before it was demolished.

In fairness to Ivyliz, nakabasa pod ko nga Accountants are the masters of survival. That is "Financial Literacy". Many may consider themselves highly educated, but are financially unsuccessful and maybe burried in debts / loans. Financial Literacy are the key to financial survival in real life and accountants are masters of this discipline.

Ivyliz, you have choosen the right course. Many of our female schoolmates just ended up as housewives, some shifted to nursing.

Infact I shared some part of that book in TB forum last year. This is the link: http://tubagbohol.mikeligalig.com/index.php?topic=2583.0

You are absolutely right Olintaha.

Scrap metal business is the janitor fish in our city. They are giving us free service of cleaning our city. What we need to do is simply put up strict regulations, penalty system and temporary suspension system, but we can not abolish them.

If we abolish the scrap metal business, our streets will be littered with empty cans and plastics. Then it will be a headache of the municipality to buy more garbage trucks, more garbage collectors and search for a bigger landfill, which I believe is more expensive than the problem and would hurt the tax payer's pocket. I don't think the city's budget for garbage collection is enough for all these unnecessary expenses.

If our city would abolish them for the sake of avoiding metal theft, it is comparable to burning the whole house to kill a rat (quote from Mike Ligalig). ;D

Even rich countries like Saudi Arabia is recycling thier organic materials and selling the fertilizer byproduct. It is a big business here and the gadget is just a size of a cement mixer. You can not just throw away things. Metals are separate, plastic and aluminum also are separate. There is a sorting station. No wonder our streets are very clean.

Moreover, selling scrap metal is a source of money-for-rice to many of our fellow Boholanos.

Finally, let me say that abolishing the scrap metal business is one of the most handy solution and a mentality of Mayors who are not capable of confronting a problem.

Yes, I agree with you Ivy. Accounting is mainly in analysis and the first time I encountered such complexities, it is headbreaking.

It is actually numbers without formulas. It is like a tangled thread where you have to figure out both ends. The worst thing is that there is a given time. You have to be mentally fast.

However, applying math desciplines in accounting would help to simplyfy the complexities. Like for example, I've seen most of our accountants are using the long method of calculation while there are simplier ones.

Maia,

I have a couple of questions.

- Are the dealings online and in actual time? Or is it made through phone vide your broker?
- If it is online, is the website accessible worldwide?
- Which country is the broker based?
- What are the specific timings does the trading open and close?
- Is Forex Trading like Stock market which is a physical trading and held in a trading venue or is the trading made only virtually?
- If the trading is made virtually, are their sites secure without the risk of hackers or identity theft?

Please PM to me the basics, just the basics of Forex and TY in advance.

Message from Jose Nazareno

Hello guys!

Wa pa ko mahuwasi. Anyway, here's my short account of what happened.

The reunion was a grand success!

The most well-attended activity was the opening mass in the morning of the 25th with Fr. Ted Gapuz,
SVD as celebrant. 89 of our classmates attended the mass, right after the registration in the morning. Then we have the orientation on what's going to happen during the three days, a business form right after lunch where some of our classmates promoted their respective businesses and then the first
fellowship night in the evening which ended at 12 midnight. Diha mi audio visual presentation sa atong mga photos cropped from the year book. All 400 plus of our young faces were again brought to life in the presentation. Ato pud gitagaan ug tribute ang atong former administrators (Fr. Gapus and Dr. Dohig) and our former teachers who attended (Fe Gallares, Ines Mitra, Joe Clarete, Jose Bedio, Mr. & Mrs. Bueno, Mr. & Mrs. Cirujales, Mrs. de la Serna).

And we spent the rest of the night dancing and singing.

The second day was the scene of a 18-vehicle convoy that announced our celebration around the city up to the Janssen campus in Dampas. 8 batches, that included ours, celebrated reunions this month alone. But our motorcade was the grandest of all. After the motorcade, we had a tour of the new campus in Dampas. Many of our classmates were able to see for the first time the newest facilities of the campus. After the tour, we proceeded to the high school building and had an informal meeting with Mam Cardino. We presented to her a plaque of appreciation being the class adviser of the Pioneers. She was so happy seeing us. But of course, with lambing, was hoping that we could donate
something for the school. Unya naniudto mi tanan sa Tarsi Grill, a restaurant operated by one of our classmates si Juvy Tan. The evening was spent with the election of our new sets of officers. Jonas Inting and Theresa Dohig-Baquial were elected President and V-President, respectively. Included in the line up are Liza Laway-Dohig (Secretary), Marilou Sajonia-Visarra (Treasurer), Dolores
Corloncito (Auditor) ug Jimmy Logarta (PRO). Board of Directors: Allan Cajilog, Eduardo Labunog, Jose Vertulfo, JB Bullecer & Raymond Roldan. Diha pud photo presentation of old pictures of our high school days ug ang recent family shots sa atong mga classmates. Pagkahuman sa election, nag videoke hangtud 1:00 AM.

The third day was spent in Muro Ami Beach in Panglao. Nag thansgiving mass mi with Fr. Francisco Estepa, SVD, bag-ong president sa HNU as celebrant. Pagkahuman nag oathtaking ang mga newly-elected officers and the rest of our classmates also expressed their "oath of support". Then we had parlor games and bottomless bahalina for the rest of the day.

Addendum: Aside from the cash subscriptions for the souvenir books and other donations, we had 7 lechons during the duration of the reunion (2 each in the first two days and 3 at the beach), all donated by our classmates.

Wow! I wish that I can all express in words what we experienced. But I can only say so much. The rest now rests in our hearts and memories.

During the 70s or 80s, I was in elementary grades. It was a time of chaos when the Marcos government starts to crumble. Then there was this radio commentator Aquilino Pimentel who proposed that statehood to the USA is the only solution of the then 9:1 peso vs. dollar slide. Needless to mention now as it is frustrating.

So, back to the topic, Pimentel become a successful politician due to this stand. However, at present situation, given his power and wealth, I don't think he could afford to say "I am for statehood". Since he became a Senator and in power, everything seems to be forgotten. Infact just recently he sponsored a bill for Philippines to become a Federal Republic, which is an exact copy of the US system. This means he does not only reversed his stand of US statehood, but to compete the system by copying it.

Well, I lost faith of our leaders. I don't know whom to believe anymore. I don't know if a leader is really patriotic, really sincere or just for self interest and power.

So, I believe President William McKinley was right in his famous words:

"We cannot give the Philippines back to the Pilipinos to run because, they are incapable of self-rule and self-governance.Therefore, I have decided that the Philippines will be annexed to the Map of the USA, and there it will stay, for as long as I am president."

Unfortunately, McKinley was assassinated shortly after he won his presidential election. Bright future died with him.

However, I have a trickle of hope left. That only hope is a man who has everything now in the US. But due to his pure concern to the fate of his nation, he will come back to the Phils to serve/run for office and implement reforms. He is not only one but many. These are the men and women whos concience could not stand to watch a dying country. We are the OFWs.

I am not a good writer folks, but I hope my thoughts are well understood.

Technology / Re: How To Cure Your CrackBerry Habit
August 02, 2008, 05:06:42 PM
In France, it is considered very rude to answer a mobile call in public places. You must run to an unpopulated corner or some private place to answer a mobile phone call. If the call is inevitable, you must answer in a low tone while in public places.

In France, leisure time is more important than work. They have 3 days holiday in a week and working more than 8 hours a day is against the law.

For them, leisure time is a time to develop your skills, re-evaluate yourself, plan your future. No wonder, there are many artists and successful people in France.

I never call our business partners in France during weekends as they will think I am rude.

Let me share to you the Ten Commandments of mobile phone etiquette

Thou shalt learn these rules, or I shalt smash your mobile phone to pieces.

Switch off, and read on.

There comes a time in any technological revolution when some basic guidelines need to be laid down. It happened when email exploded on the scene and people started to learn some basic dos and don'ts around the new medium. For example, if you copy the boss in on an email message to a colleague, it means that you are through kidding around. No one teaches these things in company training; they are just things that get learned.

Well I've reached the point with mobile phones where I feel the need to lay down the law. There are some real abuses of wireless technology being perpetrated all around us, and the time has come to create some social order out of the mobile phone chaos. This is by no means an exhaustive list simply because as the technology evolves, new annoying traits will surely emerge. But commandments usually come in tens, so think of this as the first Ten Commandments of mobile phone etiquette, with amendments to follow:

1. Thou shalt not dial while driving In all seriousness, this madness has to stop. There are enough people in the world who have problems mastering vehicles and phones individually. Put them together, and we have a serious health hazard on our hands.

2. Thou shalt not wear thy earpiece when thou art not on thy phone You there, the one wearing the Bluetooth earpiece because you are just so important that at any given moment, a critical call could come through, and you need to be able to answer it while gesticulating wildly as if to say, "I am so important, I have a Bluetooth earpiece that I must wear at all times." Yeah, you. Knock that off, would ya?

3. Thou shalt not speak louder on thy cell phone than thou would on any other phone Yes, it's true that mobile phones don't relay what you say into the mouthpiece out through your earpiece the way regular phones do, but they still pick up and transmit your voice just fine. No need to shout. These things have incredibly sensitive microphones, and it's got to the point where I can tell if someone is calling me from a mobile because of the way they are talking, not how it sounds. If your signal cuts out, speaking louder won't help, unless the person is actually within earshot.

4. Thou shalt not grow too attached to thy mobile phone For obvious reasons, a dependency on constant communication is not healthy. At work, go nuts. At home, give it a rest.

5. Thou shalt not slam thy mobile phone down on a restaurant table just in case it rings This is not the Old West, and you are not a gunslinger sitting down to a game of poker in the saloon. Could you please be a little less conspicuous? If it rings, you'll hear it just as well if it's in your coat pocket or on your belt.

6. Thou shalt not make the mobile phone more important than the company thou art keeping If thou wantest to talk on thy mobile phone, thou don't need my company. This also means no phoneage when a waiter is taking your order, or when you're at the front of the checkout line.

7. Thou shalt not leave the mobile phone ringing just to show off the "cool" ringtones or refrain from answering for that same reason Not everyone wants to listen to a cellphone ringing for minutes, even if it sounds 'cool' to you.

8. 1. Thou shalt not subject defenceless others to phone conversations. When people cannot escape the banality of your conversation, such as on the bus, in a cab, on a grounded airplane, or at the dinner table, you should spare them. People around you should have the option of not listening. If they don't, you shouldn't be babbling.

9. Thou shalt not have a message intro lasting more than 15 seconds If I wanted to listen to 'We Are the Champions,' I would have listened to it before I called. I'm sure many of us remember Seinfeld's George Costanza's answering-machine greeting set to the theme song of The Greatest American Hero. It was a riot, but sorry, you are no George Costanza.

10. Thou shalt never answer your phone while you're in the toilet…

I am translating another documentary on the life of fishermen in the Philippines to be shown on Japanese TV. I'm stumped by the following words/phrases.

pukot--fishing net  (ok?)

bobo--

manarap ug bat--

I'll request for more as the need arises.

When I was in the Philippines, I must admit I'm an ignoramus to fishing terms. However, when I went to this place, I was surprised how the Indian and Arabic fish pedlers knows fish names in tagalog or bisayan, better than I am.

So, this challenged me to learn. Thanks to Noy Oki, my former co-worker, a born fisherman and a relative of Blue Angel.

Perhaps this could help Benne:
pukot - fishing net  (ok?)

bobo - Fish Trap made of wire mesh. There's a small hole where fishes could get in, but could not get out.

manarap ug bat - Bat means sea cocumber. Manarap is catching with a net. This is wrong and non existent. Sea cocumbers are being picked by hand and not by net.

Tuy - a fish being twined by the net.

Tamba - making loud splash to scare the fish or drive them to the direction of the net.

Mata sa pokot - size of net mesh. The legal minimum size for commercial fishing should be 2 inches so that the small or juvenile fishes could escape.

Bunsod or Payao - Fish pen usually built in shallow waters or lagoon.

Mano' - Catching fish at night using a torch or kerosene lamp.

Manawm - Catching fish by diving using 'pana' (spear).

Destructive fishing:
Lagtang - using poison such as cyanide or a kind of poisonous plant.

Dinamita - using dynamite

Moro ami - Destroying corals (fish habitat) to drive out the fishes and when the fishes are exposed, it is followed by a pokot (net).

Decieving tactics man ni. In times of Fuel hike, price hike, rice hike, mao pa gyud ni ang gi una ug atiman sa gobyerno, and with too much publicity infact it is only P0.50.

It is just purely wasting her time. This only means that the telecommunication department is not fuctioning, no authority and not doing thier jobs. The president should not be involved in such things, she has huge tasks to tackle like our economy, Sabah claim, illegal inhabitants at Spratly's islands, corruption, billions of foreign loans, etc.

There are more important things to do, rather than polishing her image.

If Bill Gates happen to drop a thousand bucks, whould he dare pick it up. No, his time is worth more than that amount.

What I know is that the world demand for oil just leveled and did not increase due to the recession that also affected subsidiary companies in Europe and Asia. Production industries which are the main consumer of oil are slowing down.

This is the main reason why OPEC have to increase it's prices in order to fulfil its target in terms of Cash, since they can not increase in volume anymore.

Moreover, the uncertainty of whos gonna win the presidential election has worsened the situation. People are focused on the election instead of investments. Major Companies are on freeze as their strategies and plans are built on policies of the winning president. Companies are flexible, but at this time, they are uncertain.

I have an analysis to this Lorenzo and this is just a doubt. But this doubt makes me think that the US is really using its brain and using a smart strategy.

Since there is a recession, most of the industries are geopardized and on halt. Hence, I have a doubt that the US is holding its supply because who needs oil anyway? So if supply is less, the prices will go up.

I know that Saudi and the US has a deal that Saudi should produce this much for the US for one year. There is a quota.

Hence, I doubt that there is a surplus of oil in the US and there should be, but they are not releasing it because there is no industry to feed. This surplus oil will just go to the national reserve.

As I know, only the President and the CIA or FBI knows the exact location of the National Reserve. Nobody can touch the national reserve unless needed in war or only during an extreme national catastrophy.

Type 1 = 1 Riyals per liter = $0.27 per liter = $1 per Gallon
Type 2 = 0.60 Riyals per liter = $0.16 per liter = $0.60 per Gallon

Tubig (Bottled mineral water) = 2 Riyals per liter = $0.53 per liter

Sis A, mo hapit gyud ko sa inyong resort ining bakasyon next year pohon.

Over crowded na kaayo. Ang mo hatod nimo from port to hotel lahi ang bayad sa sakyanan ug additional P100 para unload sa imong bagahe, unya another P100 pag alsa from road to hotel room.

Patronize our own.

Sis A, para completo ang imong package, I suggest nga mag hire ka ug violinist or acoustic guitar player.

Abi nako naa diha si Sig. The last time I saw him is 1996 when my Visa was expired and I have to travel to Manila for extension. I saw him with a white pilot's uniform inspecting some cargo. We just wave hands kay busy siya and on duty.

I really don't know.

I am patriotic, but on the other hand I saw suffering, corruption, high cost of education, scam, malnutrition, etc.

Just imagine what would be the scenario, should the Philippines became the 51st State. Perhaps I would visit my causins in Michigan this weekend and drop by at Bella's mansion, ride a Greyhound to SF, to have sikwati  breakfast with Grazie, Hapon & meet their relative Sigfried my classmate for a drink. Then proceed to my brother in Long Beach for a fishing and kinilaw.

China is comprise a multi category of production business and each category will rise and fall independently.

Since China is the backyard of the US in terms of production, China's economy too will follow with the curve. However, not all items from China will be affected by the US recession.

Some items like home fabrics (curtains, carpets, bed sheets) and garments will surely fall due to the current recession caused by housing policy crisis. People tend not to buy fashion related goods.

However, plastic products will be in demand as China is the king of plastics. To save, Americans tend to use the cheap/economical plastic as almost all gadgets can be substituted by plastic. Durability is not the concern in US at this time.

Hence, it is wise to buy stocks from companies related to PLASTICS (raw materials or finished goods).

Hi WBP, TBTK has lost its direction since its infamous fight/walkout at the MetroCentre Hotel. The election was canceled. I hope TBTK would be revived.

I see a weakness in TBTK gathering. Attendees don't really know each other even online. There was no connection. There was no spark of friendship. It is not that easy to strike a passionate friendship on first meeting.

There was also a big issue in which a TBTK official was brandishing his/her wings of superiority.

A TBTK gathering may not serve its purpose if there is no sweet friendship to cherish and hold on for life.

Sakto gyud ka Mike. An organization exists only on paper or in the web, but friendship lives in our hearts and in our memories. It is regardless of time, space, gender, age, status, human logic, etc., it is priceless, unconditional, universal, etc., etc, dugangi pa Mike.

We may argue or disagree on certain things, but just refer to the above pharagraph.

I observed that mostly newbies are hostile, and as they interact more with the TB citizens, they will calm down and harmonize with the rest. This process is not instant. There is time of adjustment and several communications. Then there is the EB which is the physical seal of this friendship.

Friendship reigns in our virtual home Tubag Bohol.

Even ang Aids drug, barato ra kaayo sa Brazil compared to European or US made nga original.

I dont think so hesitant ang Filipino's in investing..  sugarol paman gani kaayu ang pinoy kun bu-ot huna-hunaon.. the only thing is.. only a few knows and understands trading.. may it be equity, currency or etc..

i think the govt should sponsor seminars to educate Filipinos on how to invest..
for me, i initially was self taught.. took me a couple of $$ loses before I get a grip  of how the market works.. but its worth the risk..manugal man gani ta sa buwangan nga wla ta kaila knsay tag-iya anang ubang manok.. wla ta kabalo gi-unsa pag gam.. unsay klasi sa manok..

In the case of Currency Trading or foreign exchange, I will give you an example. So ang currency nga imong gi palit 1 year back is now x 100.

Pananglitan karong november election sa US, so uncertain ang mga US businessman nga mo invest kay basin dili mo daug ang ilang gi suportahan nga candidate. So ang economy sa US mo ubos at its lowest in 2008 karong November.

1.  Road sign and Engine  2. Parking 3. Highway and round about 4. Market and residential area.

Kinahanglan mamemorized gyud nimo tanan sign. Nakat=on gyud maayong driving.

Sa bohol wala gani driving school asa mana sila makat-on.
