Mark Zuckerberg
Age now: 26
Title/Company: Co-Founder Facebook.
Made his first million by age: 22

Wish you were as wealthy as this guy? He's Mark Zuckerberg, co-founder of Facebook, and his super-geek-to-billionaire story is the basis of the hit movie The Social Network. "Young people are just smarter," he told a Stanford University audience in 2007. He started Facebook from his Harvard dorm in 2004 as a sophomore. Now he's a 26-year-old philanthropist, recently donating $100 million to the Newark, N.J., school district.

Zuckerberg's youthful fame and fortune makes for a riveting tale. But across America every year, plenty of entrepreneurs make their first million under the age of 25, some in high school. It takes vision, smarts, determination and a little luck. Here are eight of them, along with their advice for achieving prosperity.

Michael Dell
Age now: 45
Title/Company: Founder and CEO, Dell Computers
Made his first million by age: 19

Dell launched his computer company in 1984, just before dropping out of the University of Texas. By selling direct, Dell lowered prices and won over customers. At 24, the company had revenues of $258 million. At last check, his estimated net worth was $13.5 billion.

His advice for young entrepreneurs: "You've got to be passionate about it," he said in an interview with the Academy of Achievement. "I think people that look for great ideas to make money aren't nearly as successful as those who say, 'Okay, what do I really love to do? What am I excited about?' "

Catherine Cook
Age now: 20
Title/Company: Founder, myyearbook.com
Made her first million by age: 18

In 2005, Catherine and her brother founded the social-networking site, which functions like a digital yearbook with pictures, friends and virtual currency called "lunch money." Today, it boasts 20 million members and is one of the 25 most-trafficked Web sites in the U.S.

Her advice for young entrepreneurs: "Stop just thinking about it, and make it happen. When you’re young is the best time to start your own business, as you do not have the responsibilities you will have when you're older. The worst that can happen if you fail now is that you have firsthand experience to make your next venture a success."

Sean Belnick
Age now: 23
Title/Company: Founder, BizChair.com
Made his first million by age: 16

Belnick's been selling business furnishings online for nearly a decade now, but the recent B.A. graduate of Emory University's Goizueta School of Business still saw value in a college education.

His advice for young entrepreneurs: "It is never too early to start. I started when I was 14. There was a lot of great information on the Internet. Just do the research and find a way to do what you want to do."

Jermaine Griggs
Age now: 27
Title/Company: Founder, Hear and Play Music Group
Made his first million by age: 23

Griggs' passion for teaching music evolved into a site that teaches piano, drums and guitar by ear. More than 2 million students download online lessons each year. Griggs' plans include the launch of brick-and-mortar learning centers, a TV network and a magazine.

His advice for young entrepreneurs: "Understand the power of selling, not just things, but yourself and your ideas. Study business. Study those who have come before you, and find people with the same dreams and aspirations as you."

Matt Mickiewicz
Age now: 27
Title/Companies: Founder, Sitepoint, 99designs and Flippa
Made his first million by age: 22

Mickiewicz, who launched his first company in 1998, points out that the Internet enables immediate customer feedback, making it relatively inexpensive to test and launch new ideas.

His advice for young entrepreneurs: "People who say it takes money to make money are using the worst excuse ever. . . Create massive value for others by providing a solution where no other exists."

Juliette Brindak
Age now: 21
Title/Company: Cofounder/CEO, MissOandFriends.com
Made her first million by age: 19 (Brindak won’t divulge when she earned her first million, but says that her company was valued at $15 million when she was 19)

At 10, Brindak started drawing the "cool girls" cartoon figures who became stars in 2005 of her online community for tween girls. Today, she is seeking investors and preparing to take the site public as she attends Washington University in St. Louis.

Her advice for young entrepreneurs: Find a solid support team who believe in your idea. "If someone starts to doubt your company and what you’re doing, you need to get rid of them."

David Hauser & Siamak Taghaddos
Age now: 28 and 29, respectively
Titles/Company: Co-founder (Hauser, right); Co-founder, CEO (Taghaddos, left) -- Grasshopper Group
Made their first million by ages: 24 and 25, respectively

Hauser and Taghaddos met at Babson College, where they developed a virtual phone system designed to serve mobile entreprenuers. Hauser built the technology; Taghaddos led the marketing and sales.

Taghaddos' advice for young entrepreneurs: "Education helped polish the inherent entrepreneurs within us. Always be on the lookout for new venture opportunities from the voids and challenges you experience in your life.
Success is finding solutions in challenges that help others; money is secondary."

Cameron Johnson
Age now: 25
Title/company: Launched more than a dozen Web sites between 1998 and 2004, before he was 20 years old
Made his first million: before graduating high school

At 9, Johnson started a printing company making greeting cards from his home. At 12, he made $50,000 selling his sister's Beanie Baby collection (with her permission, of course). Regarded as an entrepreneurial icon in Japan, Johnson hosted a BBC television show last year called "Beat the Boss." He now focuses on writing and guest lectures.

His advice for young entrepreneurs: "Put yourself out there. Get started, do something and start small -- the
lower your startup costs, the easier it is to find profitability.
Create value for others, and you’ll be rewarded."

Michael Jordan bought a 2007 Mercedes McLaren SLR 722? That's one of the best cars ever made. Nice move, M.J.

Wait, he's selling it after only driving it 962 miles? Seriously? You give me hope, Michael, and then you take it all away.

So, the McLaren can be yours for $430,000, which is a little dear for that brand even if the wheels were spun for fewer than a thousand miles (considering it cost around $475,000 new). The sellers are clearly factoring in the whole "Michael Jordan owned this car" addition.

The specs? Even three years later, this is one of the fastest things in the world. It has a 5 1/2-liter V8, it'll go from zero to just over 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, it runs with 640 horsepower and it will reach 209 miles an hour; and the rear-wheel driven monster is loaded with all sorts of carbon fiber bits so it's light as a feather in comparison to other supercars.

Also, Michael Jordan drove it. For a few hundred miles, at least.

For more pictures of the car -- which for most of us will be as close as we can get -- click the link.

Yuko Narushima IMMIGRATION CORRESPONDENT
October 20, 2010

A FAMILY recruiting Filipino boxers to fight in Australia is under investigation for allegedly keeping the men in slave-like conditions in a Sydney garage.

The immigration department yesterday confirmed it was investigating complaints against a stable of boxers in the western suburbs. The NSW government's Combat Sports Authority is also aware of the complaints.

The four men bringing the complaint are originally from Cebu in the Philippines. They allege they were stripped of their passports on arrival and were forced into domestic servitude, washing dishes, cleaning toilets and child-minding.

Advertisement: Story continues below They say they lived in the family's garage, eating the same rice meals day after day without a heater through winter, and were not paid proper entitlements from title bouts. They allege they were threatened with deportation and, in one case, death if they complained or defected to another manager.

''They live in a very standard place, only in a garage, no heater, dangerously dangling treadmill overhead,'' the complaint says. ''They wash their clothes by bare hands, doing housework … as if they are houseboys.''

One complainant, a super bantamweight, told the Herald he was brought to Australia to box two years ago.

The 23-year-old said his manager had lied to him. ''I know about my real prizes,'' he said. Of the $3000 he won in a title fight recently, he received $400.

The Liberal senator Eric Abetz, raising the allegations at a Senate committee in Canberra yesterday, sought more information on the special sports visas on which the men came to Australia. The 400-series visas entitle athletes to compete and train for up to two years. They can bring family members, who can work and study.

Iniwanan at iba ang pinuntahan
Parang babaeng mahirap talagang malimutan
Ikaw lamang ang aking laging binabalikan

Manila, Manila
I keep coming back to Manila
Simply no place like Manila
Manila, I'm coming home

I walked the streets of San Francisco
I've tried the rides in Disneyland
Dated a million girls in Sydney
Somehow I feel like I don't belong

Hinahanap-hanap kita Manila
Ang ingay mong kay sarap sa tenga
Mga Jeepney mong nagliliparan
Mga babae mong naggagandahan
Take me back in your arms Manila
And promise me you'll never let go
Promise me you'll never let go

Manila, Manila
Miss you like hell, Manila
No place in the world like Manila
I'm coming here to stay

Sunset sa manila bay
Mama-manila mama-manila
Mama-manila mama-nila

Gigimik lang ako sa malate...

Amoy usok, amoy pawis
Jeepney driver nang-iinis

ang nagsige ug comment is ang PAL, i dunno why? maybe because most of their FA's are more mature than the ones in cebu pac? or since cebu pac FA's are not members of FASAP or they now feel the heat of the competition between them and cebu pac. cebu pac FA's are doing 2 safety demo before each flight. before the plance will depart, they will do it sans the music. so the demo is done carefully and technically. they will the do the other demo on flight while the plane is cruising to it's destination. i think it's for them to give their passengers other ways to enjoy their trip.

kung naay right ang mga lider modektar naa sad right ang mga member to reason out to their express opinions.

Just about anything can be fodder for an ideological dispute these days. Just consider news of the recent fire at Gene Cranick's home in Obion County, Tenn.

Here's the short version of what happened: In rural Obion County, homeowners must pay $75 annually for fire protection services from the nearby city of South Fulton. If they don't pay the fee and their home catches fire, tough luck -- even if firefighters are positioned just outside the home with hoses at the ready.

When Cranick's house caught fire last week, and he couldn't contain the blaze with garden hoses, he called 911. During the emergency call, he offered to pay all expenses related to the Fire Department's defense of his home, but the South Fulton firefighters refused to do anything.

They did, however, come out when Cranick's neighbor -- who'd already paid the fee --called 911 because he worried that the fire might spread to his property. Once they arrived, members of the South Fulton department stood by and watched Cranick's home burn; they sprang into action only when the fire reached the neighbor's property.

"I hadn't paid my $75 and that's what they want, $75, and they don't care how much it burned down," Gene Cranick told WPSD, an NBC affiliate in Kentucky. "I thought they'd come out and put it out, even if you hadn't paid your $75, but I was wrong."

The incident has sparked a debate in many corners of the Web. Writers for the National Review, arguably the nation's most influential right-leaning voice, have seized on the episode to discuss the relative merits of compassionate conservatism versus a hard-line libertarianism. (See their arguments here, here, here, here and here.)

Daniel Foster, a self-described "conservative with fairly libertarian leanings" who writes for the magazine, took issue with the county's  laissez-faire approach to firefighting, calling it "a kind of government for which I would not sign up."

"What moral theory allows these firefighters (admittedly acting under orders) to watch this house burn to the ground when 1) they have already responded to the scene; 2) they have the means to stop it ready at hand; 3) they have a reasonable expectation to be compensated for their trouble?" Foster wrote.

But Foster's colleague Kevin Williamson took the opposite view. Cranick's fellow residents in the rural stretches of Obion County had no fire protection until the county established the $75 fee in 1990. As Williamson explained: "The South Fulton fire department is being treated as though it has done something wrong, rather than having gone out of its way to make services available to people who did not have them before. The world is full of jerks, freeloaders, and ingrates â€" and the problems they create for themselves are their own. These free-riders have no more right to South Fulton's firefighting services than people in Muleshoe, Texas, have to those of NYPD detectives."

Liberals are pouncing on the Cranick fire as an illustration of what they take to be the callous indifference of a market regime that rewards privileged interests over the concerns of ordinary Americans.

"The case perfectly demonstrated conservative ideology, which is based around the idea of the on-your-own society and informs a policy agenda that primarily serves the well-off and privileged," Think Progress' Zaid Jilani wrote in a response to the National Review writers. "It has been 28 years since conservative historian Doug Wead first coined the term 'compassionate conservative.' It now appears that if any such philosophy ever existed, it has few adherents in the modern conservative movement."

Any religious organization are exempted from paying tax not only the catholic church brod.
bai vhinz, sakto ka nga exempted ang churches in paying tax to the government. not only the catholic church but also other duly registered religions including non-profit organizations. hasta gani hospital nga dagko kaayo ug charges sa ilang mga pasyente ug mga schools nga tag-as ug tuition fees sa ilang mga students mo claim gani nga non-profit sila maong magpa-exempt sad. lihok lang unta ang simbahan sa ilang tahas paglambo sa pulong sa dios ug dili nila hilabtan ang gobyerno nga naglihok pud sa ilang tahas sa pagpalambo sa panginabuhian sa mga tawo nga ilang gialagaran. dako jud ug impluwensiya ang simbahan pero sabton sad unta nila nga naa jud tawo dili madala ug kabig.

Quote from: vhinz08 on October 05, 2010, 04:56:16 PM
Ngano man nga gi himo man ning requirements sa simbahan, lisod ba kining buhaton isip usa ka kristyano? Ngano man?

Quote from: vhinz08 on October 05, 2010, 04:56:16 PM

Quote from: vhinz08 on October 05, 2010, 04:56:16 PM

Quote from: vhinz08 on October 05, 2010, 04:56:16 PM

Boxing and Boxers / Mercito Gesta at home in SD
October 05, 2010, 11:52:29 PM

After establishing himself in “America’s Finest City”, San Diego, CA, nearly three years ago from his hometown of Mandaue City, Cebu, PI, unbeaten WBO Youth lightweight champion Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta (19-0-1, 9KOs) has made himself feel right at home in the seaside city. Within the large Filipino population, the 22-year-old Gesta has found a built-in audience for his quick as lighting southpaw style which is ready to support him on October 22nd when he takes on his stiffest test to date, KO artist Ivan “Relampago” Valle (28-9-3, 24KO) at the Four Points Sheraton in Kearny Mesa, a suburb of San Diego. The eight round main event will be televised on Telefutura’s “Solo Boxeo Tecate”. Recently, Gesta was honored as one of the special guest at this year’s Fi-Am Festival which celebates Filipino heritage and their contribution to the San Diego community.

“I like San Diego a lot, the weather and everything. The Filipinos really have started to support me here,” Gesta stated while he signed autographs and mingled with the festival attendees. “The Filipino community really has welcomed me with open arms and have begun to follow my career. I am working hard to make them proud.”

Vince Parra, Gesta’s co-manager and trainer, has worked diligently in introducing the young fighter to the local people that share his native tongue.

“It took a little bit of time to have the San Diego Filipino community embrace Mercito but now that they have gotten to know him, he feels right at home,” He said. “With each of his local fights, we’ve seen his fanbase grow and this next one is no exception. We are near a sellout”

As far as his next opponent, Gesta knows that Valle represents a fighter with much more experience than he as the man from Los Mochis, Mex, has faced the tougher opposition such has Humberto “Zorrita” Soto and Urbano Antillon among others. Despite the disadvantage in experience, “No Mercy” feels that he has the tools to have his hand raised in his next bout.

“I think my speed is the advantage that I have,” Gesta stated. “We are looking to test his power then see how he moves. We are going to test him in the first round. He is tough but if the knock out comes, we are going to go for it.”

para nako ang pag apil ug mga ing ana nga organization is not bad as long as kahibaw ka sa tumong ug tuyo sa imong giapilan. kahibaw ka daan unsay imong maani kung mahiapil naka sa grupo aron walay mahay in the end. no free love ang amoa kay we believe that we are brothers and sisters and it's an incest to have a relationship with your own brothers or sisters. maong kung naay masakpan, kadtong di kaagwanta adto moresulta sa medyo harsh nga punishment and will be booted out completely.

ang akong pag-apil ug mga organizations sama sa fraternity, society among others. ako jud una gitan-aw ug gisuta unsay akong maani. ug wala ko nasayop kay wala jud ko nila pasagdi sa diha pako sa school kung manginahanglan ug tabang hangtud na karon bisan lagyo na kaayo mi mga naabtan. diha pud ko nadasig apil ug mga civic works, school activities and religious events kay gi-encourage man mi sa among mga leaders. which is nadala pud na nako until now nga habit. so fulfilling and rewarding ang akong pag-apil or maingon ta nga fruitful ang outcome.

The white sand beaches, is a mat that thousand people could rest and be awed by its sights.

The serenity of  the place is an Eden, that one could lost worldy burdens.

Up and down its highways is an experience to cherished.

Its lagoons, pools and caves are mysterious places one should visit.

Its antique churches, structures and buildings the world heritage preserved.

Not all but some of its generous and warm-hearted dwellers one should befriend.

These and more treasures all the money of this world can't buy.

Weird and Extreme / World's Scariest Bridges
October 02, 2010, 12:32:35 AM

Aiguille du Midi Bridge, France
Don’t look down. At this height, you’ll want to keep your eyes locked on the panorama of the craggy French Alps. Fortunately, the bridge itself is short, making for an easy escape if acrophobia sets in. But those truly afraid of heights probably won’t even see the bridge; getting here requires taking a cable car that climbs 9,200 vertical feet in just 20 minutes.

Where: The summit of Aiguille du Midi in the Mont Blanc massif near Chamonix.
Stats: 12,605 feet above sea level.

Royal Gorge Bridge, Colorado
America’s highest suspension bridge may be breathtaking for some, but those scared of heights may be left gasping for air as they stare straight down nearly 90 stories at the Arkansas River below. Completed in 1929, the bridge didn’t have stabilizing wind cables until 1982.

Where: Royal Gorge, Colorado, over the Arkansas River.
Stats: 969 feet above the gorge; 1,260 feet long.

Trift Suspension Bridge, Switzerland
One of the Alps’ longest and highest pedestrian suspension bridges, Trift was built in 2004 to reconnect hikers to a hut made inaccessible by a retreating glacier. A replacement in 2009 gave this bridge higher handrails and stabilizing cables to prevent it from swinging violently in the wind. But it still provides an adrenaline rush.

Where: Trift Glacier, near the town of Gadmen in the Swiss Alps.
Stats: 328 feet high; 558 feet long.

Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Northern Ireland
First things first: nobody has fallen off this bridge. However, many visitors who walk across simply can’t handle the return and have to go by boat. It used to be even scarier. Erected by fishermen who went to the island to catch salmon, the original bridge had only a single handrail. The rope bridge eventually became popular with tourists seeking a thrill, and the National Trust replaced it with a sturdier structure with two handrails.

Where: Near Ballintoy in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.
Stats: 65 feet long; nearly 100 feet above the rocks below.

Capilano Suspension Bridge, Canada
Originally built in 1889, this simple suspension footbridge surrounded by an evergreen forest is very high, fairly narrow, and extremely shakyâ€"the cedar planks bounce on their steel cables as you walk across them. If the bridge doesn’t scare you, wait until the spring of 2011; the Cliffhanger attraction will allow visitors to climb across a series of suspended walkways attached to a cliff.

Where: North Vancouver, British Columbia, across the Capilano River.
Stats: 450 feet long; 230 feet high.

Mackinac Bridge, Michigan
Some drivers get so nervous about crossing this five-mile-long bridge that they don’t even go. And this happens so often that the Mackinac Bridge Authority will drive your car or motorcycle for you (and for free). The biggest fear is the wind, which often exceeds 30 miles per hour on the bridge.

Where: Between Michigan’s Upper and Lower Peninsulas.
Stats: 5 miles long; 199 feet above the water.

Puente de Ojuela, Mexico
This bridge leads to a ghost town, but it’s the squeaky wood floor that makes it scary. Fortunately, steel cables suspended from two towers bring a greater feeling of safety. Still, steel is a relatively recent addition: when German engineer Santiago Minhguin built this bridge in the 19th century, those towers were made of wood.

Where: The ghost town of Ojuela, an old mining settlement in the northern state of Durango, Mexico.
Stats: 1,043 feet long; 2 feet wide; 360 feet above a gorge.

Chesapeake Bay Bridge, Maryland
Drivers are notoriously afraid of this bridge, as it’s subjected to frequentâ€"and often violentâ€"storms. And when the bad weather hits, forget about visibility: get to the middle of this five-mile-long bridge and you can barely see land.

Where: Spanning the Chesapeake Bay to connect Maryland’s eastern and western shores.
Stats: Nearly 5 miles long; 186 feet high at its highest point.

Monkey Bridges, Vietnam
It may seem that only monkeys could make it across traditional monkey bridgesâ€"after all, they’re typically made of a single bamboo log and one handrail. However, the name comes from the stooped monkey-like posture you have to maintain when crossing, so as not to plunge into the river below.

Where: Various points across the Mekong Delta at the southern tip of Vietnam.
Stats: These bridges are built by hand by local residents and vary from town to town. Newer ones are made of concrete.

Hussaini Hanging Bridge, Pakistan
Massive gaps between the planks, a wild side-to-side swing: there are reasons this is considered one of the world’s most harrowing suspension bridges. While rickety cable and wood bridges are common in this area, crossing this bridge over the rapidly flowing Hunza River is particularly frightening, as the tattered remains of the previous bridge hang by threads next to the one currently in use.

Where: In the village of Hussaini in Northern Pakistan, crossing the Hunza River.
Stats: Floodwaters reportedly submerged the bridge in May 2010. However, due to its draw as a popular adventure-travel activity, the bridge is likely to be rebuilt.

Sidu River Bridge, China
When this bridge opened in November 2009, it was the world’s highest bridge, rising more than 1,500 feet in the air. The span is so high that Shanghai’s Oriental Pearl Tower could fit underneath it.

Where: High above a river gorge in China’s Hubei Province
Stats: There are 1,550 feet from the bridge’s roadway to the valley floor.

Seven Mile Bridge, Florida
Besides being seven miles long, the bridge itself doesn’t seem that scary. But its position in the Florida Keys makes it a prime target for the region’s many hurricanes. In fact, the current bridge is the second iteration. The newer bridge scrapped the swing span concept of the original in lieu of a sturdier 65-foot-high arch to allow boats to pass by. While it may be sturdier, we still wouldn’t want to be on it during a storm.

Where: The Florida Keys, connecting the Middle and Lower Keys.
Stats: 7 miles long; 65 feet high.

U Pain Bridge, Myanmar
With no handrails, you’ll want to be extra careful crossing this bridge, especially in the dry seasonâ€"there’s no lake below to soften the fall. And it’s not exactly brand-new; this 3/4-mile-long teak bridge was built more than 200 years ago. More than 1,000 wooden posts (read: logs)â€"with roughly four or five feet between eachâ€"hold it up.

Where: In Mandalay, connecting opposite banks of Taungthaman Lake
Stats: 3/4 miles long; 15 feet high.

Deception Pass Bridge, Washington
If the drive over this foggy strait in the Puget Sound isn't particularly scary to you, try walking over the narrow pedestrian lane at the edge of the bridge. That's where you'll find especially hair-raising views of the rushing water directly below.

Where: Connecting Whidbey Island and Fidalgo Island, in Deception Pass State Park.
Stats: Combined, the two spans are 1,486 feet in length; 180 feet above the water.

Iya Valley Vine Bridges, Japan
This remote region on Shikoku, Japan’s smallest island, is home to three vine bridges. The originals were built with slats of wood placed between 7 and 12 inches apart, secured in place with two single vines. While the new bridges are reinforced with wire and hand rails, they’re still not for the faint of heart.

Where: Tokushima, over the Iya-gawa River
Stats: 148 feet long; 46 feet high.

Captain William Moore Bridge, Alaska
True, earthquakes don’t happen all the time, but this bridge isn’t where you want to be during one: it crosses an active earthquake fault. Engineers, aware of the potential for disaster, anchored only one end of the bridge securely, so when the ground below shifts, the bridge isn’t torn apart. Still too terrifying? Take the White Pass & Yukon train route, which passes by the bridge.

Where: Along the South Klondike Highway near Skagway
Stats: 110-foot-long cantilever bridge built in 1901

Cikurutug Bridge, Indonesia
Most of the three-hour trip on the Argo Gede train is packed with gorgeous views of green mountains and river valleys. But the ride turns from scenic to scary once you get to the Cikurutug Bridge, where the train slid off its tracks in 2002. Though nobody was hurt, authorities have elevated security precautions to protect their passenger’s safety since the accident.

Where: On the Argo Gede train from Jakarta’s Gambir station to Bandung
Stats: About 200 feet above the valley floor.

Canopy Walk, Ghana
These footbridges soar above the forest floor in Ghana’s Kakum National Park. Sure, there are hand rails and net walls that rise up on either side of youâ€"about three-and-a-half to four feet high, anywayâ€"but you’re still walking on a plank of wood no more than one foot wide. Oh yes, and you’re 100 feet off the forest floor.

Where: Kakum National Park
Stats: 1,000 feet long; 100 feet high.

Lake Pontchartrain Causeway, Louisiana
This bridge rises just 16 feet above the waters of Lake Pontchartrain, but the real fear factor is that it never seems to endâ€"it spans nearly 24 miles from Metairie to Mandeville, LA. (Once you reach roughly the eight-mile mark, say goodbye to land visibility.)

Where: Across Lake Pontchartrain between the towns of Metairie and Mandeville.
Stats: 24 miles long; 16 feet above water.

Millau Viaduct, France
Looking down on clouds is to be expected from an airplane, but it’s a bit more unsettling in a car. Yet that’s often the sight when driving across this bridge, which is taller than the Eiffel Tower at its highest point. In fact, when it opened in 2004, it claimed the title of the world’s tallest vehicular bridge.

Where: Crossing the Tarn Valley, near Millau in southern France.
Stats: Less than 2 miles long; 1,125 feet from the valley floor to the peak of its tallest mast.

Musou Tsuribashi, Japan
Bring a balancing poleâ€"the only railings you’ll find on this 50-year-old bridge are two thin barely-there ropes. That’s a bit disconcerting considering the dizzying heights reached by this bridge, especially when the winds begin to howl over the forest below.

Where: In the remote wilderness of the Southern Japanese Alps (also known as the Akaishi Mountains).
Stats: The bridge is so remote that not much is known about its length and height.

World's most dangerous bridge. EXTREME
Vitim River Bridge, Russia
Surviving this bridge crossing is considered such an accomplishment that the 34 people who have done it created their own Facebook page. The old railway bridge is only 50 feet above the water, so what makes it scary? Well, it’s barely wide enough for one car, and it’s iced over for much of the yearâ€"oh, and did we mention that there are no railings to catch your fall?

Where: Crossing over the Vitim River, a tributary of the Lena River, in eastern Siberia.
Stats: 1,870 feet long and 50 feet above the water.

Brainrotting EXTRAS: Crossing a Colombian bridge - Overland Motorcycle Adventure BMW F650 GS Dakar
Road Between Tierradentro to La Plata, Colombia
This mountain road is littered with simple bamboo bridges that wobble violently as you cross, with water rushing mere inches below you. The slickness caused by frequent torrential rainfall increases the danger quotient even more. Daredevils brave this road to see the massive underground tombs in the National Archeological Park of Tierradentro. A better option, perhaps? Taking the bus.

Where: On the road between Tierradentro to La Plata in southern Colombia.
Stats: Because it’s so remote, there are no official stats.

Scary! Massive waves on huge road bridge send Volgograd drivers asphalt surfing
Volgograd Bridge, Russia
This bridge is practically brand new, but it’s amazing it hasn’t been shut down. During a violent storm in May 2010, the roadway began to shake and oscillate, in a similar manner to the Tacoma Narrows Bridge before it collapsed in 1940. The rippling roadway caused cars to be thrown into the air and careen into the opposite lane. Authorities blamed it on an earthquake, but seismologists disagreed. The safety investigation is ongoing, even as cars still drive across.

Where: In the southern Russian city of Volgograd, crossing the Volga River.
Stats: 4.5 miles long.

Bridge of Death...Quepos, Costa Rica
Quepos Bridge, Costa Rica
Known as the “Oh My God” bridge, this crossing is so narrow that cars can travel only in one direction. After waiting your turn, you pile onto the bridge with many other cars (including heavy trucks). The loose slats of the roadway clank loudly while the bridge shakes under the weight of all the vehicles.

Where: On the road from Jaco to Quepos on Costa Rica’s central Pacific coast.
Stats: No official stats
