I would like to share to you my experience,  my first child Mayumi has a stressful birth I have had dry labor and waited 3 days. They used vacuum and it was so strong that she got a big hematome in her head. She got an Apgar score of 8, she did not breath for the first 2 minutes. I panicked because the doctor said there is a probability that she will be 25% mentally retarded. This has caused me to learn to read books in German about raising a baby. She slept with us in our bed. I always combed her hair, massage her tiny hands and feet. I sang to her to sleep and even while asleep I let my cassette running with some songs. I was not able to breast feed her because I did not have enough to feed her. She grew fast and 7 months she could walk all on her own.
I have read that the first 2 years must be an intensive caring, after this 24 months, a child will be less susceptible to sickness and most likely to be happy and stable.
SIDS is also prevalent here in Germany.

Towards the advent of 1972, Alpha Sigma Phi in Bohol, as in the rest of the country was forced to go underground due to martial law when all forms of students organizations and movements were viewed as anti-government. The chapter became inactive and never made new recruitments. The chapter was revived in 1978, but this time, it was operating underground. The activities at that time were accorded to the heroic deeds of Brods
Danilo Gocila, George Galapin, Edgar Durante and Zosimo Basanez who took the pains of maintaining the quality of members despite the limitations and restrictions enforced by government. By that time, many of the alumni in Bohol were from other chapters who affiliated themselves with the rest of the Bohol alumni.

The UB Chapter used to hold the name Beta Chapter having evolved from CMU, until 1978 when Greek letter names were formally assigned to all chapters based on the newly approved constitution and by-laws during the Davao convention. Bohol was not able to send a representatives in that convention.

In April 1982, was the venue of the 4th Bienial National Convention of Alpha Sigma Phi wich was attended by Richard Gibbs, the Grand Senior President of Alpha Sigma Phi - USA. That was a significant part of the history of Alpha Sigma Phi not only for Bohol, but for Alpha Sigma Phi Philippines because it was during the convention when Richard Gibbs became an honorary member of Alpha Sigma Phi Philippines, Inc.

Meanwhile, Theta Chapter of the University of Bohol continued as the mother chapter not just for Alphans from DWC and PMI, but also from the Bohol Agricultural College in 1983. Both alumni and undergraduate members had the opportunity to constantly interact with each other when there are activities.

Alpha Sigma Phi in Bohol traces its roots back to Central Mindanao University in Musuan, Bukidnon. It was brought on Boholano Soil in 1965 and found its home at the Rafael Palma College (now University of Bohol). Alphans Freddie Graciosa, Carlos Buenachita, David Porticos and Norie Namoc organized the first Alphan community in the college by recruiting and persistently initiating students "the Musuan way". The initiations lasted
six consecutive weeks of psychological tests and weekends of hazing. The usual rendezvous was at the former "Gun Club" in Taloto, Tagbilaran City which is now where the First Consolidated Bank (FCB) main office is located.

There were 13 who survived the initiation and they comprise the pioneer Alphans of what would be known as the Theta Chapter: herbert Obenza, Tito Villanueva, Medong Aceron, Orlando Pizana, Adriano Damalerio (+), Jesus Garcia, Pepe Pacatang (+), Mar Dayo, Gary Suganob, Tito Torrefranca (+), Joe Javier (+), Cesar Copaler, and Pascual Cabando, Dr. Victoriano "Wil" Tirol, Liux Lofranco and Engr. Vir Ungab were the advisers and
honorary members of the newly organized Alpha Sigma Phi. Six years later, Vir Ungab and Liux Lofranco submitted themselves to the initiation procedures and became full-fledge Alphans.

In 1967 two Alphans from Bohol, Manuel Cempron and Valeriano Vitor joined the YMCA-sponsored leadership traning in Dasmarinas, Cavite. Being newly accepted, they proudly wore t-shirts with the Alpha Sigma Phi logo. It was how they were noticed by delegates from Cebu who also happened to be Alphans. The initial encounter was lukewarm understandably because of mistrust as to the authencity of the other. For one, they did
not share the common traditional triangle tattoo at the base of the right thumb. The triangular dot tattoo is of Musuan origin, like the Boholano Alphans, while the Cebu Alphans were initiated by the Silliman group. However, that initial encounter opened opportunities for future linkage and interaction between Alphans from Bohol, Cebu and Negros.

This later on bloomed into subsequent merging into one Alpha Sigma Phi Philippines, Inc.

In the succeding years, Alpha Sigma Phi consistently increased in number and became one of the most active fraternities on campus. It produced the best because it recruited the best. It sent representatives to various campus activities and won many awards in both academic and in literary competations. In 1971, the UB chapter allowed the affiliation of Saint James College (now Philippine Maritime Institute-PMI) and Holy Name College (later renamed Divine Word College, now Holy Name University) to the University of Bohol Chapter. Among the survivors were Brods Jun Lumanas, Jun Rebosura, Jun Bandala, Jun Columnas and Boloy Dominise.

I´m a member of Alpha Sigma Phi Frat/ Sigma Mu Alpha Sorority during my college years in formerly Rafael Palma College now University of Bohol
It was a surprise that a brod from Iligan City invited me to join the Forum and lo and behold.., I saw old brods and sis all over the world.
The website was designed by Brod Samuel Matunog , a lawyer ,head of PIA in Davao City. Brod Samuel was from Siliman University but he hails from Bohol also, his mother is Relampagos.
I was greeted by the younger generations and the most wonderful part, I met a brod who I initiated 30 years ago. Recalling those happy days really warms my heart.

The date is September 19, 1961.  A middle aged New Hampshire couple, Betty and Barney Hill, are driving home from a short vacation in Canada.  It’s dark, with the moon and stars illuminating the wooded landscape along U.S. Route 3 in central New Hampshire.  The Hills’ curiosity is aroused when a bright “star” seems to move in an irregular pattern.  They stop the car for a better view.  The object moves closer, and its disklike shape becomes evident.

Barney grabs his binoculars from the car seat and steps out.  He walks into a field to get a closer look, focuses the binoculars, and sees the object plainly.  It has windows -- and behind the windows, looking directly at him are ... humanoid creatures!  Terrified, Barney stumbles back to the car, throws it into first gear and roars off.  But for some reason he turns down a side road where five of the humanoids are standing on the road.

Apparently, unable to control their actions, Betty and Barney are easily taken back to the ship by the humanoids.  While inside they are physically examined, and one of the humanoids communicates to Betty.  After the examination she asks him where they are from.  In response he shows her a three-dimensional map with various sized dots and lines on it.  “Where are you on the map?” the humanoid asks Betty.  She doesn’t know, so the subject is dropped.

Encounter or abduction?

On the evening of October 11, 1973, 42-year-old Charles Hickson and 19-year-old Calvin Parker — co-workers at a shipyard — were fishing in the off a pier on the west bank of the Pascagoula River in Mississippi. While fishing at the abandoned shipyard, they heard a whirring/whizzing sound, saw flashing blue lights, and reported that a domed, football-shaped aircraft, some 100 feet across, suddenly appeared near them. The ship seemed to levitate about 14 inches above the ground.

A door opened on the ship, they said, and three creatures emerged and seized the men, floating or levitating them into the craft. Both men reported being paralyzed and numb. Parker fainted due to fright. They described the creatures as being roughly humanoid in shape, and standing about five feet tall. The creatures' skin was gray and wrinkled, and they had no eyes or mouths that the men could discern. There were three "carrot-like" growths instead - one where the nose would be on a human, the other two where ears would normally be. The beings had lobster-like claws at the ends of their arms, and they seemed to have only one leg (Hickson later described the creatures' lower bodies looking as if their legs were fused together).

On the ship, Hickson claimed that he was somehow levitated or hovered a few feet above the floor of the craft, and was examined by a mechanical eye that seemed to scan his body. Parker could not recall what had happened to him inside the craft, although later, during sessions of hypnotic regression he offered some hazy details. The men were released after about 20 minutes and the creatures levitated them back to their original position on the river bank. Wikipedia

UFO sightings in Germany
#8736
General Topic / Re: UFO: Fact or Fiction?
January 29, 2009, 04:36:29 AM
Although the so called "modern era" of Ufology began with the Kenneth Arnold sighting in 1947, UFO reports go back to ancient times. Even cave drawings, sculptures, paintings, and folklore of yesteryear show an influence of flying machines on mankind.

Because of the many varied reports of UFOs, it seemed necessary to establish a system for classifying these reports. There are two different systems used by Ufologists, the Hynek System, and the Valle System. The former is by far the most widely used;

NL (nocturnal light): a simple visual sighting of a unidentified flying light seen at night.

ND (nocturnal disc): a simple visual sighting of a unidentified flying extended or structured light source seen at night. (This is an extension to Hynek's system).

DD (daylight disc): A simple visual sighting of a UFO with distinct shape seen during the day.

Radar Cases: UFOs detected by Radar.

Radar Visual Cases: UFOs observed visually whilst being simultaneously on radar. From Hynek's study these make up 1 to 2% of reports.

Close Encounters of the first kind (CE1, CEI): as first defined by Hynek, a CE1 is an observation of a UFO within 150 yards.

Close Encounters of the second kind (CE2, CEII): a UFO which leaves some form of physical evidence. Example: A burn where the UFO appeared to touch the ground or the finding of material of unknown makeup.

Close Encounters of the third kind (CE3, CEIII): a visual sighting of an occupant or entity associated with a UFO. An analysis by Hynek of 650 reports found only 1% to be CE3 (Close Encounters beyond the third kind are extensions to the basic Hynek system. Different authors have used the same designation to mean different things.)

Close Encounters of the fourth kind (CE4, CEIV): an abduction of an individual by an alien being or race.

Close Encounters of the fifth kind (CE5, CEV): a direct contact or communication with alien being or race. Example: Billie Meier with the Pleiadians, U.S.Govt. with the Greys, or channeling.

Vallee Classification System:

A system used to categorize the various types of UFO and paranormal experiences invented by Dr Jacques Vallee and is now used more often instead of the Hynek Classification System since it gives the reader a more detailed summary of a case. The categories are as follows...

AN RATING Classifies any anomalous behavior.

AN1 Anomalies which have no lasting physical effects. i.e. amorphous lights, unexplained explosions.

AN2 Anomalies which _do_ have lasting physical effects. i.e. poltergeists, materialized objects, areas of flattened grass, corn circles.

AN3 Anomalies with associated entities. i.e. ghosts, yetis, spirits, elves and other mythical/legendary entities.

AN4 Witness interaction with the AN3 entities. i.e. near-death experiences, religious miracles and visions, OBEs (out-of-body experiences).

AN5 Anomalous reports of injuries and deaths. i.e. SHC (spontaneous human combustion), unexplained wounds as well as permanent healing that results from a paranormal experience.

MA RATING Describes behavior of a UFO. It is analogous to the Nocturnal Light, Daylight Disk and Radar Visual Hynek classifications.

MA1 A UFO has been observed which travels in a discontinuous trajectory. i.e. vertical drops, manoeuvres or loops.

MA2 MA1 plus any physical effects caused by the UFO.

MA3 MA1 plus any entities observed on board. i.e. the airship cases of the late nineteenth century.

MA4 Manoeuvres accompanied by a sense of reality transformation for the observer.

MA5 A manoeuvre that results in a permanent injury or death of the witness.

Unidentified Flying Object ,  UFO is technically an "unidentified flying object," nothing more nor less.

Any object that flies and cannot initially be identified as an airplane, helicopter, blimp, balloon, kite, or any other object that normally flies, is a UFO. Many flying objects that are listed as a UFO can later be identified as an object made on Earth, then they can be called an "IFO," or identified flying object.

Marco Evaristti (born 1963 in Santiago, Chile), is an artist who has lived in Denmark since the 1980s.[1]

After studying at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Evaristti gained notoriety for a museum display entitled Helena in 2000 that featured ten functional blenders containing live goldfish. The display, at the Trapholt Art Museum in Kolding, Denmark, invited guests to turn on the blenders. This led to museum director Peter Meyer's being charged with and, later, acquitted of animal cruelty.

Evaristti's next major work, in 2004, entitled Ice Cube Project, was to paint the exposed tip of a small iceberg red. This took place on March 24, in Kangia fjord near Ilullissat, Greenland. With two icebreakers and a twenty-man crew, Evaristti used three fire hoses and 3,000 litres (790 US gallons) of paint to color the iceberg blood-red. The artist commented that, "We all have a need to decorate Mother Nature because it belongs to all us."

On January 13, 2007, Evaristti hosted a dinner party for his most intimate friends. The main meal was agnolotti pasta that was topped with a meatball made with the artist's own fat, removed earlier in the year in a liposuction operation.[2]

On June 8, 2007, Evaristti draped the peak of Mont Blanc in France with red fabric, along with a 20 foot pole with a flag reading "Pink State". He was arrested and detained on June 6 for attempting to paint the peak red. His aim is to raise awareness of environmental degradation.[3]

Marco Evaristti, a renowned shock artist served up some interesting meatballs to his friends as of recent. He prepared 48 meatballs with fat from his own body from a liposuction procedure he underwent last year. “The question of whether or not to eat human flesh is more important than the result,” he said, explaining the point of his creation. “You are not a cannibal if you eat art,” he added. Some of his earlier piece’s include inviting people to kill fish by pressing the button on a blender where the fish were held, as well as in April 2004 he dyed an enormous iceberg in Greenland with red paint. Bizarre and unethical to some as it may seem he cooks in the name of art, and you can enjoy his art by dropping a cool $4,000 to pick up 10 human fat cooked meatballs to throw on your spaghetti.

THIS PRESIDENT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANYBODY
IN THE PAST.
The Obamamobile: New presidential limo is unveiled - and it can
withstand rocket and chemical attacks
It's official call sign is Cadillac One, but it will always be known
as the Obamobile.is
But his Secret Service agents have already been familiarising
themselves with the machine they call 'The Beast', built by General
Motors in Detroit and based on a Cadillac chassis.
The company refuses to give precise details of how it will perform
its primary purpose - protecting the president.
But bulletproof glass and armourplatingare standard throughout and
the car is hermetically-sealed to withstand chemical weapons.
As with previous presidential limos it is packed with electronic
communication systems to allow Mr Obama to keep in contact with the
outside world.

A Broken Penis: Facts About a Real, Debilitating Condition
January 07, 2008 by

Though the penis does not contain a bone, a penile fracture - or broken penis - can easily occur in certain situations.

According to Sheldon Levine, D.O., of Orland Park, Illinois, there are about 1,000 cases of broken penises reported each year. In most cases, a broken penis occurs during sexual intercourse.

Q. If there is no bone, what breaks in the penis?

A. According to Dr. Levine, the penis contains ligaments and cartilage. Although there is no bone, a penile fracture occurs when the ligaments are torn. This is just as painful as a broken bone.

Q. How does a broken penis occur?

A. Dr. Levine states that in most cases, the penis breaks during sexual intercourse when the penis is fully erect. At full erection, the penis is the most vulnerable. If, during this time, it hits an immovable object, or a hard object, it can break just like an arm or a leg. In most cases of a broken penis, it occurs during sexual intercourse while the woman is on top of the man.

Q. How will I know if my penis is broken?

A. You will know. The first thing you will hear is a snap. Then you will feel pain that you have never before felt. You may even experience blood. Although the penis is broken, it will not break off, according to Dr. Levine. Of all the cases of a broken penis, there is no single incidence of a penis breaking off.

Q. What do I do if my penis breaks?

A. Get thee to a hospital emergency room and fast. Years ago, ice packs and pain killers were the remedy of choice. This often left men with either a penile curvature or impotence. Today, simple surgery will repair the torn ligaments and you will be good as new in a few weeks, says Dr. Levine.

Q. How do I avoid a broken penis?

A. The only way you can avoid this condition is to curtail your sexual intercourse or be extremely careful. This may put a severe damper on your sex life. As there are only 1,000 reported cases of broken penis each year, you are better off to go about your business and not worry too much.

The Belgian man charged with killing two babies and a nurse at a creche near Brussels has admitted carrying out the murders, his lawyer has said.

Kim De Gelder, 20, "understands that what he did was inhuman", lawyer Jaak Haentjes said.

He was arrested following Friday's knife rampage through a nursery in the town of Dendermonde, in which 13 people were also hurt - most of them babies.

Authorities say they also suspect him of killing an elderly woman.

Prosecutor Christian Du Four said he was believed to have been behind the stabbing of a 73-year-old woman in her home in Beveren, not far from Dendermonde, a week earlier.

Mr Haentjes said his client had denied all knowledge of that attack. BBC

Bad monk steals sex films
Friday, March 7, 2008

A monk has been arrested in Germany for stealing erotic movies from a sex shop.

49-year-old Benedictine monk Brother Niklaus was found to have stashed almost 40 rude films in his cell at the abbey.

He was only caught when an assistant at a sex-shop in Wuerzburg – 150 miles from the abbey – spotted him trying to hide a selection of movies under his habit. Among the films he was stealing were Ladyboys do Bangkok and Nuns in Heat. ...and also, ladyboys.

He was regularly sent to the town on church business.

After the assistant spotted the pilfering holy man, he ended up being chased through the streets of Wuerzburg, during which time he tried to dump the stolen films in a rubbish bin. A scene which we can't imagine without the Benny Hill music playing in the background.

Dear Sir,

I would like to express my feelings of disappointment  as a Bol-anon residing outside the country  to the ICM establishments
I was informed  that the last  Raffle draw of the Island City Mall was not in accordance to the date as stated in the raffle ticket. It was held 4 January, 2009 instead of 6 January 2009.
The whole event might be trivial to you, or it might not be even important to you, but to some poor Bol-anons winning means something to hold on as  a ray of hope for  this bitter times of  hardships.
I could have just  enjoy my favorite meal, sit comfortably in my flat  and forget the whole thing but I sympathised with my fellow Bol-anon who don´t get the nerve or chance to bring their voice of disgust.
I deem it proper that the ICM establishments  give a written apology to their  loyal customers.

very truly yours,

Baby with Three Arms : This 2-month-old baby named Liu Junjie from Anhui Province, China, was born with a third arm on 2006. Doctors successfully removed the extremely rare and well-developed third arm, but the baby required long-term physical therapy to gain function in his remaining hand, which has no palm and flexes in either direction. "We're hoping to exchange information with doctors who've dealt with similar cases anywhere in the world," said Chen, head of the orthopedics department at Shanghai Children's Medical Center. "This is so rare that we have virtually no information to go on.

Frog-like Baby : this bizarre-looking baby was born in Charikot, the headquarters of Dolakha district, attracting a huge number of onlookers to witness the astonishing sight.

The neck-less baby with its head almost totally sunk into the upper part of the body and with extraordinarily large eyeballs literally popping out of the eye-sockets, was born to Nir Bahadur Karki and Suntali Karki at the Gaurishnkar Hospital in Charikot. The Karki couple is a permanent resident of Dolakha's Bhirkot VDC.

The bizarre baby, however, died after half an hour of its birth, Suntali, the mother, informed. It was taken to the hospital after its death. The news about such a baby being brought to the hospital spread like wildfire and there were hundreds gathered at the hospital to have a look. The police had to be deployed to control the crowd.

The baby weighed 2kg at birth and was born after the normal nine-month gestation period. Suntali, already a mother of two normal daughters, was not suffering from any illness during the pregnancy. Nir Bahadur, the father, says he does not feel any remorse for the newly-born baby's death. "I am happy that nothing happened to my wife," he said.

Note : The baby has a condition called anencephaly, a neural tube defect (like the cyclops baby), with no proper brain formation. The baby would have died a few days later. That's why women are advised to take folate in early pregnancy.

The parents say the baby was born a normal weight close to 8 pounds when he was born, but he keeps eating every hour. The Iranian doctors do not know what this eating disorder is or where it came from.

World's Smallest Baby : Amillia Taylor was born at 21 weeks and six days. No baby born at less than 23 weeks gestation had ever survived, but 10 ounce Amillia was able to pull through (and even was trying to breath and cry on her own at birth). Hospitals had initially hoped to release her yesterday, but decided to keep the now healthy baby a few extra days for observation.

Her mother doesn't mind the wait, she's just proud and happy that Amillia is healthy: "Even though she's only four pounds (1.8 kilos) now, she's plump to me."

Calle thanks for leading me here, I´m so busy with my sick in-laws, so I am relaxing now browsing this Forum.  I could remember the Zobel-Ayala family, they have a foundation in Davao City, a self-help program for unwed mothers. It is a beautiful handicraft project where bags, throw pillows, bed covers are made. Quilts and patching where the linens or clothes are of typical Mindanao motifs. They are unique not for mass production. I was even surprise to see them in Singapore shops. Nalimot nako sa ilang brand name kay dugay nako nawala sa Davao City.
I never doubt the sincerity of Madam Zobel´s intentions. So it surprises me if some tongues put malice on her work ? Why?
Was her work not explained to the community? She is an outsider, meaning a non-Bol-anon.Kon pasabton tingali ang mga mamomoyo kon unsa ang iyang tuyo, menos ang tahap. This is a good analysis of the existence of Hamas. They were at first very benovolent to refugees from Libanon to Damascus. This makes their name so sweet and attractive, but this hopeless refugees and displaced palestines has no choice but to go along with, a ray of  hope, kapit sa patalim. They were shrewed enough to convince them to allow the Hamas to build their tunnels (utang na loob) so it is no wonder that the Israeli forces marched in their midst to destroy their underground tunnels.
The whole situation is a vicious cycle. The next question is who provides the money?

Hamas has 'overwhelming responsibility' for Gaza war: EU
Mehdi Lebouachera
January 26, 2009 - 11:39PM

A senior EU official touring Gaza on Monday blasted the "abominable" destruction in the enclave and said its "terrorist" Hamas rulers bear overwhelming responsibility for the war.

"It is abominable, indescribable," Louis Michel, European Commissioner for Development and Humanitarian Aid, told reporters in Gaza after touring some of the worst-hit places of Israel's deadly 22-day assault on the territory.

"At this time we have to also recall the overwhelming responsibility of Hamas," he said. "I intentionally say this here -- Hamas is a terrorist movement and it has to be denounced as such."

"In order for the EU to relaunch a political dialogue with a minimal chance of succeeding and a chance of moving forward towards peace, Hamas must accept the two little conditions that were put to it -- one, the right of Israel to exist and two that it abandon the armed struggle, the terrorist dimension of its approach."

Blasting the scale of destruction in Gaza, Michel said the European Union, the main donor to the Palestinians, was sick of paying for the same infrastructure that's destroyed over and over again.

"Public opinion is fed up to see that we are paying over and over again -- be it the (European) commission, the member states or the major donors -- for infrastructure that will be systematically destroyed," said Michel, known for his critical comments about Israel.

He said the bloc had approved nearly 60 additional million euros in aid to Palestinians in the wake of the Gaza offensive.

"Since 2000, Europe has spent three billion euros in Palestine," he said. "Every year, we spend 600 to 700 million euros. Today we decided on a supplementary payment of 60 million euros.

Thirty-two million euros would be allocated to Gaza, 20 to the West Bank and six million to the refugees, he said.

"All we do is pay. You know very well that from time to time we pay several times for the same infrastructure that is regularly demolished."

"Europe is doing all that it can, but unfortunately it cannot do any more. Show me a political body or an institution that is more engaged than Europe in helping the people of Palestine, because I'm not aware of one.

He said reconstruction was going to be difficult, voiced hope of a "sustainable and durable ceasefire" around the territory and urged Israel to open Gaza's border crossings to facilitate rebuilding efforts.

"It goes well beyond what I imagined. I didn't doubt that it would be serious. It is going to be extremely difficult to reconstruct and it will no doubt cost an enormous amount of money to bring people to decent living conditions," he said.

Israel must open Gaza's border crossings, which have been sealed to all but basic humanitarian aid since the Islamist Hamas, sworn to the destruction of the Jewish state, seized power in the territory in June 2007.

"The access really must be complete and not just medicine and food, we need goods in order to restart the minimal economic activity -- including fuel, spare parts, cement, all that will little by little permit a rebuilding of minimal living conditions," said Michel.

Michel planned to travel to Israel later on Monday.

Landing near to God!

A car has skidded off the road in eastern Germany and landed on the roof of a church.

Police said the vehicle was travelling at high speed when the collision happened in Limbach-Oberfrohna on Sunday.

The 23-year-old driver missed a bend in the road and drove through a railing before careering up an embankment and flying 35 metres through the air.

Emergency workers had to free the man who was taken to hospital in a serious condition. BBC

If we write to him, which is correct, he could do only two things: 1 get personal about it as it would be considered an affront of 2: agree with us but still shoot our letter right to the trash bin.

If everyone submits a letter or collect signatures bisan tag 10 kada page, it might take his attention that there are really concerned sectors. I won´t subscribe to the above amigo because I know the power of letter writing and collections of signatures being an active member of Amnesty International. Bohol pa ni, raffle draw ra ang atong reklamo, kon managhi-usa kita ug ubay ubay ang mamirma, makahinung sila, plus we could make follow-up.

Chinese food for the New year festivities
#8795

BBC
The Chinese capital is preparing to celebrate the Chinese Lunar Yew Year,
Chinese New Year is the longest and most important celebration in the Chinese calendar. The Chinese year 4707 begins on Jan. 26, 2009.

Chinese months are reckoned by the lunar calendar, with each month beginning on the darkest day. New Year festivities traditionally start on the first day of the month and continue until the fifteenth, when the moon is brightest. In China, people may take weeks of holiday from work to prepare for and celebrate the New Year.
An Obstinate Year

Legend has it that in ancient times, Buddha asked all the animals to meet him on Chinese New Year. Twelve came, and Buddha named a year after each one. He announced that the people born in each animal's year would have some of that animal's personality. Those born in ox years tend to be painters, engineers, and architects. They are stable, fearless, obstinate, hard-working and friendly. Jack Nicholson, Jane Fonda, Walt Disney, and Anthony Hopkins were all born in the year of the ox.
Fireworks and Family Feasts

At Chinese New Year celebrations people wear red clothes, decorate with poems on red paper, and give children "lucky money" in red envelopes. Red symbolizes fire, which according to legend can drive away bad luck. The fireworks that shower the festivities are rooted in a similar ancient custom. Long ago, people in China lit bamboo stalks, believing that the crackling flames would frighten evil spirits. Holly Hartman

Thank you for being honest with your opinion.  We are taught that God made man, Adam and Eve, male and female and nothing in between. Pope Benedict XVI said that we annihilate ourselves if we tolerate same sex relationship with the argument that we need to perpetuate ourselves through new offsprings. This is I believe and subscribe.
But I have a high respect for human rights and if they chose to be gay or lesbian, I wish them all the luck in the world. Luckily in our federal state of North Rhine Wesphalia, they are lawfully recognized as marital partners.
