Chada or pachada man ang gamit didto sa CDO.

Sa amo sa Manga kay kasagaran "naitok" pero gagamit pod ug "nasuko".   "Maitok ba diay ka ay!" - "ay", being the favorite ending word sa amoa with matching singsong tone almost like that of the Ilonggos.

Ex-President Fidel Ramos was in our bank's conference room when he was the President of the Phils.  to ask for the hand of our then bank's president Guido Delgado kay gusto ni FVR na ipa presidente sa NAPOCOR.  I also saw ex-President Cory Aquino when I went to the Monastery of Transfiguration in Malaybalay for a weekend getaway.  At that time she was there with Imelda Cojuangco.  Sus, naa pa to sya'g mura'g nanny.  At that time, there was a special event at the Monastery.  I was sitting beside Imelda Cojuangco.  Her nanny offered her a bowl of cashew nuts.  Ms. Imelda then offered me and hello, nuts na gud na so ning dawat pod ko!   ;D  I met also with GMA during one or two of the rallies for Erap's ouster.

While working in Manila, I had the chance to meet with the man in my dreams (adtong college pa ko and imagined this man as the character in the Mills and Boon pocketbooks I was reading! baduya oi!):  Fernando Zobel de Ayala.  Through my boss in Manila, Guido Delgado, I got to meet not only Mr. Fernado but also his brother Jaime, and their parents and Fernando's wife Kitkat - also during rallies. Cute kaayo si Kitkat unya all of them were so humble!   Many times I met, during meetings where I was part of the secretariat, Jarius Bondoc of Phil. Star and Rina David of PDI, Kuh Ledesma, Celeste Legaspi, Jim Paredes, Sharon Cuneta, Senator Kiko Pangilinan, Sen. Teofisto Guingona, Bart Guingona, ug daghan pa to.

One early morning, I had a breakfast meeting at Starbucks in Ortigas and there Sen. Manny Villar.  Hipos kaayo ijang hinapay.  ;)  While having dinner in one of the restaurants in Ortigas, I also saw the late Sen. Raul Roco with his colorful attire.   :) He was so cool.  He was having lunch with his wife.  Patago-tago pa pero nakit-an man gihapon so ning wave2x na lang sya!   Also, while ga laroy2x sa Rockwell, I saw Sen. Drilon.  We shook hands.  He was nice but aren't all politicians like that?  Nakita pod nko si Imee Manotoc with her son Borgy sa Glorietta.  Cool mama kaayo sya oi mura lang sila barkada!  Oi, oi, I can't possibly miss this!  I saw Sen. Miriam Santiago with his sons sa Shangrila.  Heavily guarded sya oi! :o

Bene san, "kapayason" in CDO is not the same as the "kapayason" in Bohol kay ang sa CDO kay hambog man while sa Bohol kay hilakon.  I think mas closer ang meaning na hilakon kay di ba kon samaran ang kapayas, dali dayon mo gawas iyang juice.

I think so, Bene san!  Hasol is hassle.  That is got to be the same.

Oh, my favorite word is boondocks for bundok as in taga buk-id. That's really ours!  I didn't know this until I told my husband jokingly that he is from bundok.  To my surprise, he understood!  No wonder he understood because that's now English! :D

Wikipedia:

The boondocks is a remote, usually brushy rural area[1]; or a term for a remote city or town that is considered unsophisticated[2].

The expression was introduced to English by American military personnel serving in the Philippines during the early years of the 20th century. It derives from the Tagalog word "bundok", meaning "mountain".

Hello, Grazie7y.....i knew some fellow pinoy here. what's your friend name? I did not met anyone here yet that really from our school or familiar mates. Mostly, older ones....i wish i find one!

You know, to join this program is so tempting. It's a great place to have a brainstorming...everyone is entitled to his/her opinion so no hurt feelings. That's life! We need to move on. But, what can we really do??? Since election is fast approaching, Corruption Issue is a great topic to talk about. Thanks for Mr. Diony Castro! Let's be open-minded and let everyone share their thoughts, comments, suggestions & everything. Then, we can come up to a great solution for the best of our people in BOHOL! Not just DUERO folks, right?

Carina, my friend's name is Maybelline and her husband is Noel and their baby is Elaine. She works in Sydney at Market Street while their house is near Ashmead Avenue.

I don't know the couple here but what they did was truly amazing.  To set aside every bride's dream of a fancy wedding complete with train and white flowers decorated all over and more, to aprons which were simply labeled Bride and Groom.  These couple will have a happy and deep relations as they are putting God in the center of their married life.  Way to go, Christine and Kyle Kramer!

I went to have lunch with a friend today.  While she was driving, her phone was ringing and she just grabbed the phone to answer and we were at the intersection where there was construction going on in the road.  I told her to watch out as we almost hit the side of the guard railing.  It was really a hiyari hatto!  :D

I imagined, Bene san, you wanted to just fly back home right away after you heard the news.  I am really glad they are safe.  Let us always pray for their safety.

And as for the robbers, robbing people, I think is their job.  I will pray though that they realize they feeding their family with food that comes from stolen money is so bad - like they are feeding cursed food worst than food with worms!  The money they stole that had caused so much pain and sorrow from the people who worked hard to have decent livelihood.  I have said it before and I will say it again.  Poverty shouldn't be made as an excuse for people to steal.  There's got to be another way.  I know that.  We've been there.  Magtanom sila'g saging ug kamunggay ug uban pang lagutmon.  Managat pareho sa akong mga uyuan and that entails waking up in the middle of the night para mo adto sa dagat, mag bugsay, managat.  It's not an easy job but that's decent.  Dili nang magpakasayon lang mang harass ug mga tawo!

Hahahah sorry to break the profoundness of your "today's surprise", Bene san.

I was just chatting with Maring Belle awhile ago.  I was gonna call her but she was online so I just chatted with her.

Earlier this morning, I received a call.  She didn't say Hi or Hello she just outrightly said, "Hildaaaa!"  I said, um, there's no Hilda here.  She insisted that a Hilda gave her my number.  I was starting to feel annoyed and then I realized she was old and well she was talking to me in Tagalog! hahahaha  Then she asked me, "anong pangalan mo?" But I just told her, wala nga'ng Hilda po dito.  She said her name is Trining.  In the whole wide world, I only know three Trinings:  the character from our elementary book, the title I can't remember anymore.  The second one our neighbor in Manga and the third one is an old lady from the South of Sacramento with a husband who is a gay.  They both are active in Filipino events and in the church too.  So I asked her, Ikaw po ba yong Manang Trining na asawa ni Manong Horacio?  Abtik tawon tubag ang tiguwang, ako nga!  Paano mo ako nakilala?  Nah, ning taas na'ng storya but in the end I told her, I don't know Hilda. hahahaha

Back to the main topic:

If there is a member here in Tubag Bohol who is propagating the slogan "anti-vote-buying" in extreme, it was Grazie.

It is her battlecry.

Macks, I don't want to be hypocrite so I might as well declare that sad to say I can not flatly say that my relatives who are into politics are not practicing this social disease and neither could I say that my immediate family are not accepting money from multiple candidates during elections.  However, I can honestly say I had never accepted money from any political candidates nor would I ever engage myself in vote buying should I become a politician.  But as early as now, I know I will never be a politician.  I am not cut for that stuff.  I'd rather be baking cookies...

Yet, it was just sheer luck that Lakers won the game last night.  after that steal with a minute and some seconds left, it kin of saved them.  They are starting to behave like the Sacramento Kings.  They had comfortable lead already unya ning silip lang ko sa CNN ug foodnetwork, pagbalik nko, tie na sila!  Let's see if they can sustain their luck when they go to the court of Boston tomorrow.

RE: Diony Castro of Duero laments over corruption issues.

First & foremost, I'd like to say hi to all Duerohanons, old friends & my family there. It is a great opportunity to be part of this forum where we can reconnect people from all over the world.

CARINA BERNALDEZ AGUIMAN here from Sydney, Australia. Living in western world is not comparable to living in 3rd world country, however, all the memories that we have still remain fresh and unforgettable that lasts forever.  Our background helps us grow personally & professionally. So, there's no need to criticize our people serving the government. Probably, some are but we should not generalize everyone. My best example is my father, Ex-Vice Mayor Pedro Byron Aguiman. He's true and genuine politician dedicated to serve the people of Duero. I believe he did not make money out of politics. We go this far through our hard work, working together as a team for our living and determination to get where we wanted.

With this forum, I am so proud of my sister, EMMA AGUIMAN NOWELL, for expressing in public her intentions, views and dedication what she wanted in the future. She is so bright and brave to take all the challenge ahead if the plans will push through. I am her great supporter from Sydney, Australia that wants a better DUERO one day too.  We just need a leader like my father!

Carina, welcome to Tubag Bohol again!  Do you meet with fellow Filipinos there in Sydney?  One of my closest friends is residing there.  She is originally from Cagayan de Oro.
