Why Should Girls Receive the HPV Vaccine?

Full benefit of the HPV vaccine occurs only if you receive it before you're infected with any of the HPV strains included in the vaccine. That's why the CDC recommends vaccinating girls between ages 11 and 12. Ideally, this is before they become sexually active. The HPV vaccine can also be given to girls as young as 9 and to girls from age 13 to 26 who have not received it earlier.

Ten killed in Philippines, thousands flee as typhoon strikes

AFP By Joel Guinto
22 August 2015

A worker cuts up a fallen tree on Kennon Road, a main road leading into the city of Baguio on August 22, 2015 as Typhoon Goni lashes the Philippines

Ten people were killed while thousands fled to higher ground as powerful typhoon Goni brought torrential rains to the northern Philippines, triggering landslides and floods, officials said Saturday.

Nine people died in Mountain Province and Benguet in the northern highlands after their houses were buried in rocks and mud. A man was killed in nearby Ilocos Norte province after he was hit by a falling tree, the national disaster council said in a report.

Three people were reported missing in flooded areas while seven others were injured. Close to 13,000 people had been evacuated by nightfall, the report said.

Typhoon Goni was 130 kilometres northeast of the Batanes island chain on Saturday evening, with winds of up to 185kph (115mph), according to the state weather bureau.

In the northern province of Abra, two straight days of heavy rains caused a major river to overflow, governor Eustaquio Bersamin said.

"The Abra river has turned into an ocean," Bersamin told DZMM radio.

"The rains were much stronger than we expected," he said.

Thirteen domestic flights were cancelled on Saturday, the disaster council said.

The storm is the ninth out of an average of 20 that hit the Philippines each year and is now heading to Taiwan, the weather bureau said.

STUPPID

Fake news sites often play to users’ existing beliefs to spread their claims, but Stuppid (a site that truly lives up to its name) is less focused in its contribution to the avalanche of fakery on the Internet. Efforts by Stuppid largely encompass morally offensive fabrications, such as a claim parents admitted to having sex in front of their kids to teach them about procreation, another about a Florida man marrying a baby, and a salacious tale of an incestuous mother-daughter relationship.

Stuppid frequently swipes publicly-available photographs such as mugshots and deliberately misattributes them, as they did in a story about two Floridians allegedly arrested for selling golden tickets to Heaven. Another such story involved a death row inmate’s purported request for a last meal of kittens illustrated with a photograph of deceased serial killer Dorothea Puente.

While the five sites referenced here represent only a small sample of the overall “satire” nuisance on social media, many widely-dispersed fake news claims have originated with them. All of the above-mentioned sites exist solely to spread false information, and none can be trusted as legitimate sources (no matter how compelling their claims might be).

http://now.snopes.com/
#8557

EMPIRE NEWS

Empire News (spun off from what was initially a sports-related fake news site) is another outlet responsible for the propagation of fabricated claims that spread on sites like Facebook. Some of their stories are apolitical and simply compelling to readers, such as a claim the Netflix entertainment streaming service would be shuttering due to the negative impact of piracy, or one that Las Vegas planned to legalize dog fighting to boost casino revenues.

Other Empire News hoaxes were somewhat news-based, such as one predicting massive national snowfalls for the winter of 2014-2015. Some articles targeted political or social controversies, such as one claiming a protestor in in Ferguson, Missouri, had accidentally burned down his own house. Separate rumors included one holding that Facebook was spying on gun owners for Homeland Security and one claiming that food stamp recipients would be awarded free cars (or that the food stamp program would be discontinued entirely).

When Empire News created a rumor about a WalMart shoplifter reportedly caught with $100 worth of groceries stashed in her vagina, the claim was spread not only by social media users but also by other sites of dubious credibility (such as Huzlers and Daily Viral Stuff).
#8558

HUZLERS

While National Report and World News Daily Report often take advantage of politically, socially, or religiously divisive issues to drive outrage-based traffic, Huzlers employs a markedly different approach to fake news hoaxes, often invoking the names of popular brands and restaurants in its quest to snare readers with gross-out stories.

Among Huzlers’ most prominent yarns: Chipotle was caught using cat and dog meat in their dishes, Starbucks was discovered to be using semen in their beverages, Arizona iced tea tested positive for urine, and McDonald’s was outed for including human meat in their products.

Like its fellows, Huzlers tailors its scope to leverage topical news trends. A popular claim made by the site (at the apex of an Ebola outbreak) involved zombies, and another alleged that a man had traded his toddler to buy an Apple Watch.
#8559

WORLD NEWS DAILY REPORT

Straddling the line of fake news and the occasional seed of truth is World News Daily Report. By cobbling together misattributed stolen photographs (and often using extant, long-circulating rumors), World News Daily Report has published several viral claims often preying upon readers’ religious beliefs, including hoaxes about a newly-discovered eyewitness account of Jesus’ miracles, an ancient rumor about chariot wheels found at the bottom of the Red Sea, and a very old yarn about the discovery of giant skeletons reworked as the tale of a coverup perpetrated by the Smithsonian Institution. However, World News Daily Report frequently branches out to science-based fakery, including japes about the destruction of the world’s oldest tree and another about the discovery of a Megalodon shark in Pakistan.

Political conspiracy is another favored topic of World News Daily Report, evidenced by articles claiming that a CIA agent had confessed to killing Marilyn Monroe and that Yoko Ono disclosed she once had an intimate partnering with Hillary Clinton.
#8560

NATIONAL REPORT

No list of shameless misinformation spread would be complete without a mention of National Report (and its omnipresent former lead writer, Paul Horner), as the site is (or was) perhaps the most prominent example of its genre.

Among  National Report‘s most widespread hoaxes were claims that notorious street artist Banksy was arrested and unmasked (as Paul Horner, naturally), that a teen was imprisoned over a “swatting prank,” and that a U.S. company was hiring mercenaries to kill ISIS militants. While most of the site’s efforts have been relatively benign, their fake story about an Ebola outbreak’s prompting a quarantine in Purdon, Texas, caused headaches for local officials at the height of ongoing coverage about the virus.

National Report (and its “satirical” brethren) have sustained huge losses of traffic in the wake of Facebook’s algorithm changes intended to limit the reach of fake news. In response, sites have been established that spoof the domain names of legitimate news outlets such as the Washington Post and USA Today which mirror the National Report‘s content in order to more efficiently dupe readers and work around Facebook’s restrictions.

(The ubiquitous Paul Horner has since moved on to the equally fake News Examiner site, continuing to offer fictitious stories about subjects such as the world’s first successful head transplant.)
#8561

So long as social media allows for the rapid spread of information, manipulative entities will seek to cash in on the rapid spread of misinformation. Perhaps the most egregious of the many nonsense peddlers on social media are fake news sites, so here we offer a guide to five of the most frequent (and unapologetic) hoax purveyors cluttering up newsfeeds everywhere.
#8562

Facebook has worked at limiting the reach of hoax-purveying sites in their customers’ news feeds, inhibiting (but not eradicating) the spread of fake news stories. Hoaxes and fake news are often little more than annoyances to unsuspecting readers, but sometimes circulating stories negatively affect businesses or localities by spreading false, disruptive claims that are widely believed.

from now.snopes:

Posted by Kim LaCapria /  May 12, 2015

The sharp increase in popularity of social media networks (primarily Facebook) has created a predatory secondary market among online publishers seeking to profitably exploit the large reach of those networks and their huge customer bases by spreading fake news and outlandish rumors. Competition for social media’s large supply of willing eyeballs is fierce, and a number of frequent offenders regularly fabricate salacious and attention-grabbing tales simply to drive traffic (and revenue) to their sites.
#8565

so, okay, people like me have been initially fooled (that's why this thread so i can wake up)...

Philippine Pride, you've managed to lead people to your website with this news.  good for business, right?

is this item of any value, socially or politically? will this item lessen corruption? who knows? we can continue to hope. we hope, you earn.

will you be happy if some other satirical website (as there's no limit to one's imagination) will have a news item saying that a loved one of yours--mother, husband, whatever--had died because they were quartered by horses ala braveheart? laugh your heart out!
#8566

an example from The Philippine Pride website (as related news or further reference for a news item from Philippines Lifestyle) that set me thinking...

1) knee jerk reaction: this is too serious a matter to be missed by the mainstream media.

2) it has a narrated youtube release that appears like a news report complete with footages from a UN assembly focusing on some ambassadors to the UN from different countries whose speeches are not heard at all because of the voice over (funny, that).

UN to End Philippines’ Membership if Corruption Continues

UN_General_Assembly 11/22/2014 â€" Geneva | UN is stepping-up to pressure Philippines to act against corruption. In the latest joint report released by United Nations and Transparency International, Philippines remains one of the most corrupt countries in the world, and the most corrupt democratic country.

Pakistan, Somalia, North Korea, and Iraq are the only countries ahead of Philippines.

“Philippines has a dysfunctional government when it comes to corruption”, the report said.

The report listed the “Pork Barrel Scam” as the biggest single scam scandal in Asia in the last 10 years which involves an estimated amount of $222.7M (P10B). Further details reveal that an estimated 40% of the P2.265T 2014 budget signed by Aquino will likely end up to politicians’ pockets.

The United Nations warns Philippines that it will remove the country from membership if Aquino or the next president could not improve the country’s corruption level in the next five years.

An epidemic of laughing that lasted almost a year broke out in Tanganyika (now Tanzania) in 1962. Several thousand people were affected, across several villages. It forced a school to close. It wasn’t fun, though â€" other symptoms included crying, fainting, rashes, and pain.

The Tanganyika laughter epidemic of 1962 was an outbreak of mass hysteria â€" or mass psychogenic illness (MPI) â€" rumored to have occurred in or near the village of Kashasha on the western coast of Lake Victoria in the modern nation of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika) near the border of Uganda.

The laughter epidemic began on January 30, 1962, at a mission-run boarding school for girls in Kashasha. The laughter started with three girls and spread haphazardly throughout the school, affecting 95 of the 159 pupils, aged 12â€"18. Symptoms lasted from a few hours to 16 days in those affected. The teaching staff were not affected but reported that students were unable to concentrate on their lessons. The school was forced to close down on March 18, 1962. (wikipedia)

The Dance Fever of 1518 was a month-long plague of inexplicable dancing in Strasbourg, in which hundreds of people danced for about a month for no apparent reason. Several of them danced themselves to death.

DANCING PLAGUE OF 1518

HOAX OR FACT:

Fact.

ANALYSIS:

The mysterious stories shared online for decades state that several people 'danced themselves to death' in Strasbourg during the Dancing Plague of 1518. Yes, it is a fact and a mystery as detailed below.

In July 1518, a woman referred to as Frau Troffea began dancing intensely in a street in Strasbourg, Alsace (part of Holy Roman Empire then), France for somewhere between 4-6 days. Numerous people followed her in dancing for days without rest. 34 people joined her within a week, and about 400 dancers followed the same within a month. As a result of this dancing mania, considered as epidemic, dozens of the affected people died of heart attack, stroke, starvation or exhaustion!

There are historical documents suggesting the victims danced for no apparent reason, some even “danced themselves to death” until early September 1518 when the epidemic receded. Initially, astrological and supernatural causes were thought to be the reasons behind the dancing epidemic, but the local physicians ruled them out, and instead announced it as a "natural disease" caused by "hot blood". Surprisingly, the authorities believed the dancers will recover only if they danced continuously day and night. So instead of prescribing bloodletting, they encouraged more dancing, and even constructed dancing halls and paid for professional dancers and musicians to keep the people dancing. Some of the dancers were taken to a shrine, where they sought a cure for their affliction. To make this mysterious phenomenon even weirder, there were few other dancing plagues in the same region during the medieval period, also one in Madagascar in 1840.

POSSIBLE REASONS

The hundreds of people who danced continuously for days during dancing plague of 1518 would have needed tremendous physical exertion that is not naturally maintainable; even marathon runners wouldn’t be able to do it. Although the true reasons behind the dancing plague are unknown, few possible theories were suggested.

Initially it was thought that the affected people in Strasbourg might have consumed Ergot Fungus, a psychotropic mold that grows on stalks of rye (organic version of LSD). But ergot is extremely poisonous, and is more likely to kill people before it can initiate any kind of dancing madness among starving people.

According to Historian John Waller, the people in Strasbourg were superstitious, and anxiety and false fears were rampant in the region. There was a Christian church legend saying if anyone angered Saint Vitus (a Sicilian martyred in 303 A.D.), he shall send down plagues of compulsive dancing.

Some historians suggest the dancing epidemic is a result of stress-induced psychosis (mass psychological illness), when people got into the act in a trance state. They point that the people in Strasbourg suffered severely from famine, and were under intense stress in an ongoing crisis.

"The police released the suspects because no one filed any complaint against them," said a prominent Maranaw community elder, who asked not to be identified.

Highly-placed sources, among them local officials, said the four suspects had been killed one after another before dawn Tuesday.

The sources also confirmed that the parents of the four rapists had signed waivers stating that the relatives of the Maranaw girl they raped can execute them if they want just to protect other family members from vendetta attacks.

MARAWI CITY, Philippines â€" It was the families of the four suspects in the August 14 rape-slay here of a 13-year-old Maranaw girl that volunteered their execution, community elders said Wednesday.

Barangay officials here and in nearby Lanao del Sur towns confirmed that all of four confessed rape suspectsâ€"Jabbar Macacua, Elias Pimping, Salman Udag and Jalil Saniâ€"had been killed one after another by angry relatives of the rape victim after the police set them free Monday.

The four were first arrested over the weekend with the help of vigilant Marawi City residents, detained at the city jail, but eventually set free owing to the absence of complainants.

4 suspects in rape-slay of Marawi City girl executed â€" sources

August 18th, 2015

COTABATO CITY, Philippines â€" The four arrested suspects in the rape-slay of a 14-year old girl in Marawi City were shot to death early Tuesday somewhere in Bayang town in Lanao del Sur, sources confirmed to the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

But the four suspects were never formally charged, even after they allegedly admitted in a video to raping and killing the victim while her parents were on congregational Muslim prayer Friday noon in Barangay Basak Malutlut, Marawi City.

The fourâ€" identified as Salman Udag Sambitory, Jabbar Rikta Macacua, Elias Kamote Pimping and Jalil Alilit Sani â€" were arrested by policemen early Sunday, with the help of civilians, who identified them as those who hastily came out of the victim’s family house, said Vice-Governor Haroun Al-Rashid Lucman of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).

Plus, should she run with her best friend Senator Chiz Escudero, I think that he will drag her down like an anchor on a ship. As I mentioned and have written in many previous columns, there are no real friends in politics, only ‘user friends’. I think that Sen. Poe should reconsider her VP selection. I recall in the previous election, many thought Mar Roxas’ VP spot was in the bag until Escudero promoted the ‘NoyBi’ tandem. I think that ultimately Sen. Escudero’s goal is the presidency itself. It will be interesting to see how he will position himself at this point with that goal in mind.

The only thing the CBCP did say was to remind voters to be careful and conscientious when choosing their leaders. I second that notion. I can’t help but feel that we are being much more time this election to think things through. We need to make the most out of the time we have and learn all we can so we can make educated and informed choices. Before we know it we’ll all be trekking to the election center and making our voice be heard.

And speaking of being discerning and doing due diligence when it comes to getting to know our candidates, I have to say that I am glad that the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines has categorically stated that they will not be endorsing any particular candidate and will adopt a hands-off policy when it comes to the upcoming elections. It comes down to separation of church and state, a concept that is already quite blurry in the country. We all know that the church and the government have butted heads several times over policies, laws, and legislation. While this can’t be avoided in our largely Catholic country, it’s good the CBCP understands the importance of them not getting involved in election proceedings.
#8582

As for us, the voters, it’s important to look beyond what he see on the exterior and put our candidates through the loop when it comes to scrutinizing them and their plans for the Philippines. Far be it from me to say that there is any one candidate that is perfect â€" after all, we are all human with human flaws â€" but I just hope that Filipinos will not do what they have done in the past and just choose a candidate who they know to be corrupt, because he/she is the lesser available evil. I believe it’s still very possible for our country to turn it around and start new.
#8583

One such person is Senator Grace Poe who has, thus far, denied all offers to run as Vice President due to her own presidential bid (still to be confirmed). Personally, I think Senator Grace Poe could be a good leader, but I also believe she is lacking in vital experience that will help her make the tough choices required of running a country. I do not doubt her leadership skills, her honesty, or her passion for the Philippines. I do, however, doubt her timing. And despite her climbing in the polls, I don’t know if it will be enough to get her to Malacanang. I am actually curious to see where she stands in the next survey results.
#8585

I hope that our voters can be more discerning this time around and not just simply vote for whoever pays them or gives them freebies. It’s important that this time we make an investment in the country. And that not only goes for the president but for the vice president as well. Much like the presidential candidate speculation in past months, there is also a lot of talk and rumors about who the VP candidates will be. There are no clear frontrunners here because it seems as if anyone who wants to run refuses to try for VP and just sets their sights on the presidency instead.
#8586

We know that the President has already appointed Mar Roxas as his successor, and as I mentioned last week, I believe he can do a really great job if given the chance. However, there is still a lot of work to be done to convince the wider population of this, not to mention the masses â€" many of who still believe or cling to the thought of a Binay or even Erap presidency. Whenever I read about this I always find out it’s usually because they say that corruption will always be present, but at least Binay and Erap share their wealth with the people. This is ludicrous. If you are going to look very closely, corruption allegations notwithstanding, the only wealth being “shared” with the people is the money that came from the people in the first place.
#8587

I truly hope this is not going to be the case. But you can never tell with Philippine politics. Now that the election talk is going full force and the floodgates have been opened, everyone is carefully and meticulously eyeing their choices. I know many are keen on keeping up “Daang Matuwid” and for the sake of truly eradicating corruption in the country (or at least making bigger strides), I hope this comes true. However, that will depend greatly on whom we elect into office.
#8588

We all know we are at a breaking point, with corruption truly coming out in wave after wave of revelations these past couple of years. We are all desperate for a change. So despite not wanting to seem as if I have a one-track mind, I can’t help but discuss the elections and the potential candidates almost on a daily basis. The reason is, whoever makes it into office in 2016 will affect us all on a daily basis in the future. Will these new leaders make things better? Will they continue the existing programs that are doing well and expand upon them? Or will they, as history has shown, come in with their own agendas and discontinue programs that are working in lieu of starting new ones just so they can slap their own names on them?

A wider choice for Veep in 2016

It truly has begun. As much as I am remiss to continue on the topic of elections week in and week out, we can’t deny that it is one of the things that remains a hot topic for conversation. No matter whom you ask or where you turn, you hear election talk, predictions, disappoints, hopes, and even fears. Our countrymen seem to understand that this particular election really has the power to greatly change the course of our country’s history. Now whether or not that change is going to be for the better or for the worse, we will have to wait and see.

when hachiko waited every day, for nine years, at the train station

This year marks the 90th anniversary of Ueno’s death, and also the 80th of Hachiko’s passing. In memoriam, the University of Tokyo’s agriculture department has erected a bronze statue of man and dog on its campus, together at last.

The heartwarming scene has had a powerful effect on online commenters in Japan.

“I’m so happy for you, Hachiko.”
“I already cried when I saw the 1987 Hachiko movie. I didn’t think this would make me cry again, but it sure does…”
“So moving.”
“What’s the big idea, making me cry like this?”

We have to agree. After waiting almost 100 years, it’s hard not to get a little choked up at Ueno and Hachiko’s reunion.

Today, a statue of Hachiko stands in Shibuya, showing the dog patiently waiting. But while the bittersweet quality of the story made Hachiko famous, it overlooks the fact that before his master’s passing, the two would happily reunite every evening and walk home together. Now, it’s that moment’s turn to be immortalized, with a new statue showing Hachiko as he’s rarely been depicted before, bursting with joy upon seeing his owner.

While Hachiko is arguably the more famous of the two, his owner, Hidesaburo Ueno, also contributed greatly to Japanese society. Ueno was a professor at the University of Tokyo (then called Tokyo Imperial University) for over 20 years, and a celebrated scholar in the field of agricultural engineering. As a matter of fact, it was during one of his lectures in 1925 that Ueno collapsed and passed away.

Hachiko, Japan’s most loyal dog, finally reunited with owner in heartwarming new statue in Tokyo

Even in a country that adores its pets, none have captured the hearts of Japanese animal-lovers like Hachiko. The Akita dog touched the hearts of people across the nation by devotedly waiting every day for more than nine years in front of Tokyo’s Shibuya Station for his master to return from work, not knowing that he had died from a cerebral hemorrhage and wouldn’t be coming back.

For the past 6 years, a dog named Capitán has slept on the grave of his owner every night. His owner, Miguel Guzmán died in 2006 and Capitán disappeared shortly after the family attended the funeral services. They searched everywhere and put out flyers to try and find him. But no one had seen him.

A week later, some people who were at the cemetery late one evening spotted Capitán laying on a grave and they contacted the grounds keeper at the cemetery. The cemetery notified the family who promptly came to pick him up and take him home. But each night he would cry and scratch frantically at the door to go out and he wouldn't return home until morning. It was later discovered that Capitán would walk the 3 miles back to the cemetary each night to guard his master's grave.

It has been nearly 7 years now. The cemetery does not close the gates until he arrives each night promptly at 6 pm. He sleeps there all night guarding the grave until the grounds keeper opens the gate in the morning. (This is a true picture of Capitan here http://instagram.com/p/oAJsgmxban/)

why?

best answer i think:

Most standard English playing cards used today derived from the original French models produced in the mid-16th century. For the purpose of mass production, the earliest cards were printed using woodblocks. Disfiguring occurred over the centuries as unskilled block makers distorted the original designs, resulting in hands, symbols of office and other attributes losing their meaning. Among the many distortions that took effect, the King of Hearts not only lost his moustache, but the axe he was originally holding became a sword. Yes, this is true. The most popular, given, and common name in the world is Muhammad, according to the Columbia Encyclopedia (2000, 6th edition). There are approximately 150 million men (and boys) who have their name Muhammad.

In the United States, the name got ranked 4,194 out of 88,799 in the 1990 census for people of all ages. In 2006, 639th popular first name for newborns was Muhammad according to the Social Security Administration. Mohammad and Mohammed are ranked 589th and 633rd, respectively. Mohamed was also the 430th most common spelling variant in the US for the year of 2009.

In 2007, the second most popular given name in Britain was Muhammad, including 14 variations in its spelling, reported by the BBC. Mohammed was the 16th most popular baby name in 2009 in England and Wales (most popular in the West Midlands).

Statistics says that 8,928 Danish Muslims have their name Muhammad and it was reported that 167 new born babies were registered in 2004 only. Some men who have name of Muhammad use their middle name because they think it’s too common.

Marcos wanted to achieve different things, not always easy to reconcile with each other. He wanted a meaningful response to MILF’s plaints. But he did not want a solution that would originate from the MILF faction, only to be spurned by those who refuse to share the same bed with Iqbal and the people he speaks for.   The issue of Muslim Mindanao is more than an MILF issue.   In fact, it was not originally an MILF issue.   He also wanted to steer clear of the importuning of Nur Misuari and his MNLF group.   Then there were the legitimate claims of the sultanatesâ€"themselves a fractious lot. Who, for example, is the Sultan of Sulu?   As if the considerations were not complicated enough, the IPs and non-Muslim communities reminded the Legislature that they too had legitimate claims.   And because no solution is clever enough unless it is in accord with the Constitution, Bongbongâ€"who undoubtedly has as incisive an intellect as his father, but lacks the latter’s legal education (his wife, Liza, is a top-notch lawyer with a law office of her own!)â€"had to wrestle with the opinions of the critics of the BBL, as well as the decision of the Supreme Court in the Province of North Cotabato (MOA-AD) cases! By any account, that was a whole tangled web within which to craft a law.

So, why should the reckoning consist in comparing the powers it grants the autonomous region as against earlier laws? ARMM was MNLF-triggered.   The strengthened ARMM was MILF-goaded. The BBL was MILF authored and owned.   Marcos had to craft a “tertia via” than demanded so much more than Aristotle’s proverbial “middle way”. Thus read, as an attempt to wend a legal path through the convoluted paths of claim, counter-claim and cross-claim, should we not be unanimous, rather, in thanking Bongbong Marcos for having offered us a decent alternative, without having to deceive ourselves into taking it as the final word? I am sure, not even he does!

I have read it in full. I have conversed with Senator Marcos on some of its points. I would have written some provisions otherwise, but he is the senator, not me.   On the whole, it is a highly commendable piece of draft legislation.   It is not the ultimate word on the matter; in an age that guides itself by the precepts of deconstruction, there is no ultimate word! And so, those who are disappointed because they had thought that BBL was going to offer the final word are apparently trapped in a time-warp of last words and definitive narratives! Fortunately, the earth has completed several revolutions around the sun since!

Critics are wont to dismiss the Marcos Draft because, they claim, it results in an autonomous region with even less might than the ARMM under its strengthened charter. The reckoning is wrong, I respectfully though tentatively (with a reverential bow to Derrida) submit.   I have not indulged in comparisons of the sort: the stronger autonomous region, the stronger regional executive, because I think that is not the point. At least, from what I understand Mr. Marcos saying, that was not at the top of his table of priorities.
