We really can't stereotype one race to be acting one way or another. It all boils down to the character of the person involved. There are attitudes displayed by Filipinos which are also prevalent in other nationalities, just as there are some unpalatable acts of say, a Chinese, which is also done by a Filipino.

In the same way, there are noble and admirable Chinese characteristics which are also present in Filipinos, and vice versa.

Could Hippie be in Iraq right now? Dogding bullets with George cradled in her arm?

Explosions sprayed dust into the air as shrapnels zinged everywhere. She ran for cover behind an upturned Humvee, pressing down her helmet as she dove to the sandy ground. She scanned around and saw two marines of her patrol sprawled lifeless. She tightened her grip on her M-16 and laid down George and she prepared to return fire. Then the thought of home crossed her mind and a feeling of calmness overcame her as she recalled the sleepless nights with Tubag Bohol.

Or maybe because of this criteria:

GEOGRAPHIC DIMENSION
Monuments and buildings from all countries and continents in the whole world were eligible and invited to be nominated. However, only 21 Candidates from 21 countries were selected as Finalists (see Authority entry below) to be brought to vote. (Only 1 Finalist Candidate was allowed per country).

Correct me if I'm wrong. The way I understand it, the voting until December 31, 2008 is to select the top 21 or 14 (?) new wonders of nature out of the top 77. From there, there will be a selection of the top 7. Perhaps the rule on 1 country 1 site is true for the top 7. I also couldn't understand why the Chocolate Hills would be de-listed when it was way ahead of Tubataha Reef.

Here's a toast to Mike who started it all!

The lonely nights had long since
become endless days of buzz and chirps
of laughters and giggles
silent moments to ponder
profound thoughts and wonder

bridges of friendship in a digital world
at the height of emotions, words were hurled
promises of budding love and of those cut short
when the object of affection
is looking at another direction

Here's a toast to all who spoke
and to all who listened
even to those who gave the answers
before the questions were given

And here's a toast to those
whose names could not be
mentioned anymore

whose names are cherished in our
hearts forever more.

Wala pa ko nakatilaw ug sagpa pero nakatilaw nako ug nanagpa kas-a. Why?

It's a long story back in high school but I'll try to shorten it. I used to have a very close friend na guy (I won't mention his name because who knows naay nakaila niya ani taga TB). I would say that we were really close friend and no string attached. On our JS Prom night, there were quite few guys who were dancing with me taking their turns and he didn't get a chance to dance with me. As I was about to sit on my chair kay gikapoy na, I fell on the floor with my long gown because someone took my chair. I got up quick and looked behind me and it was my so-called close friend who was shocked looking at me. I didn't say anything to him and I just slapped him once - really hard. :-[

It was the most embarrassing moment of my life on my special night as a Prom Queen, I was shocked myself too then I realized it was my close friend. I didn't talk to him for a week or two and it was hard to avoid him because we walk the same way  from UB labay pa sa Coca-Cola ug unahan pa sa Wisdom school. Until the rest of our barkada knew and he asked help from our friends to make amends with me few days before our graduation. He cornered me in one of the rooms sa UB telling our friends secretly to leave us kay mag-explain siya ug mangayo siya pasaylo nako. He confessed na nagkagusto daw siya and he wasn't thinking at all. Nagselos lang jud daw siya. I forgave him pero lahi ra jud after adto nga situation. He's a very smart guy and witty and harworking. Pirme kaming duha himoong Emcee for any activities didto sa UB. At that time I had a childhood sweetheart, so we stayed just friends. ;D

The question is Am I proud of what I did? NO. I surely have regrets for slapping him because everyone knows even the faculty members and the Principal. I felt like I didn't deserve as a Prom Queen title for I lost my temper at that moment kay pwerte jud ulawa nako.  :-\

Ngek! taas pa man gihapon ako story oi. Di ko kabalo jud mo shortcut oi. ;D

ytesski,

It's a very poignant story you shared here. It's like a movie but I believe you this is a true story. Especially that I know the place where you and your best friend walked every night from school towards your home beyond Bohol Wisdom School. And the occasion when it happened was just so awesome. And the reason why he did it - jealousy - was heartrending.

I could not fault your best friend. It was bound to happen -- him falling in love with you.

It seemed to me your best friend took it twice. The first during your prom night. The second when you had to tell him your heart already belonged to someone else.

But he took it as a man. He and you continued to be friends.

I wonder if years after your high school graduation your paths have crossed again.

The only non-fiction novels of John Grisham which I haven't read are "The Client" and "The Pelican Brief".

I love the ending of "The Firm" better in the book than the movie version.

For me: The most engrossing was "The Runaway Jury". Greatest page-turner, "The Partner". His work I like least: "The Will" and "The Brethren."

My all-time favorite: "A Painted House".

I overheard this from a 10 year old girl: "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Everything else is made in China."

GEC, I've only one wish on the Grand EB on July.

I will be there --

Same here, Graz. Unsa man ni si GEC nga tagsa ra man ta duawon dire oi....*shouts GEC!*

Five years from now, the members of Tubag Bohol will be implanted with a microchip -- and the administrators will know whether the members are actually tapping the keyboard of their computer or already in dreamland or just plainly

                                        spreading the sunshine

                                                           with hugs and kisses

                                                                               like GEC  ;D

Five years from now Tubag Bohol will be relaunched as Tubag World.

At least 30% of its members will be Boholanos, with Boholano blood, or Boholano affinity or connection. The remaining 70% will be of other nationalities, the larger chunk of which comes from Europe, North America and Australia.

Vouge Magazine will be the first to create a core group to devote full time monitoring the discussions on this site regarding fashion preferences, perfume and lifestyle.

Three years earlier, the Chinese intelligence agency already monitored the site as a barometer on how China can best push its foreign policy and influence in world affairs.

Russia would do the same 6 months later.

And yes, the home page will banner an ad of Mike's Tubag Bohol Resort and Spa in Anda.

Hey, I know what you mean. Is she the one that you bite? Haha

This is a perfect medium to keep history. Really nostalgic, like the emotions when you are digging old black & white photographs during your elementary years.

My Rich Daddy, Macky.

You caught me there with the word "bite". Did I use this word when I chatted with her? I'm intrigued because I can't seem to remember this happened.... but with the way back then, it could be possible. It would even be surprising if it didn't happen

;D

Now, I'm totally out of this world! Yeah,

                                                     c'mon baby bite me!

                                                                                    ;D

I felt a little bit nostalgic with this old thread ;D

Keeping history alive, yeah!!!

Where have I been, lately?

Ow, you didn't know?

The world of fantasy is just too strong a temptation to resist.... you can say I've been drifting in and out of the wide ether world, wishing I could have another sip from the bahalina of that girl whose name I have been prohibited from naming, and longing to read once more from the flower who should not be named.

the valedictory speech of Speaker JDV last night is very relevant as he calls for moral revolution.

The content of the message is superb. But it's difficult to separate the message from the speaker. (sigh)
