Dili magsilbi Loy,

Taas nga sugilanon, ang among gamay nga kaponongan dinhi rehistrado ug naka-notar. Deklarado ang among pondo ug asa nipadolong ang nakita nga kwarta, nagsugod mi ug siyam karon 60 ug 7 ka honorable members/supporters (non-Bolanons).We participate in North-Rhine Westphalia One-World Forum. This gives us the possiblity to promote the province in terms of tourism and inform the public that this is a beloved second home of Germans.  There is a joke running around the Bohol will be the next federal state outside the territory.
Small is beautiful, our motto is WORKING TOGETHER IS STRENGTH:

Imong higala,

Manay Tess

Daghang salamat Manay Tess. It does not matter if they include German language on it for the benefit of our German tourist.

Bohol Directory / Re: Question and Answer About Bohol
October 08, 2008, 05:01:21 PM
Grazie,

I have a simple analysis.

My theory is that when the Spanish arrived in Bohol, they are trying to communicate with the natives. Since, they are of totally different tongue, there are no common word and it is like humans communicating to an allien from outer space.

Hence, just for the sake of communication, they tried to use thier own native language with the aid of hand signal. With this kind of communication, one can imagine how frustrating it is to express what you mean. Then after a certain point of trying to express his thoughts without success, the chieftain of Bohol perhaps lost his patience and temper and shouted "Bongol".

Since the sylable "ng" is common to Asian tongue, but rare to Europeans, Spaniards could not pronounce it properly; therefore the scribe substituted it with "h" and there you have "Bohol".

This is the closest analysis I could imagine. Hehehe.

If video was invented at that time, I could imagine how comical the footage was, with two different languages and thier action/facial expressions.

N.B. Sorry, I forgot about Aya San. I am not trying to be funny, but this is based on real facts.

I can not call them advance race. During the Mideaval period, they thought that the world is flat while our ancestors the Srivijayans at that time were already doing expedition/venturing at the open Pacific using stellar navigation.

I have seen the video and see a very good comment from Ms. Sheryl Coronel through this link: http://worldwidefilipinoalliance.ning.com/video/video/show?id=1872192%3AVideo%3A29105

I remembered Aya San as a loving mother, nature lover (her passion for orchids, flowers and landscapes), animal lover (loves ducks and birds at the lake), she too is compassionate to old and weak (through her thread: mga tabacco ni Nay Itas). Just too perfect. She was.

The Blanco's are our rich neighbor in Tagbilaran. They are reputed as harsh to thier servants. Aya San is just a different Blanco, far different.

While we were in Los Angeles last week, we went to Redondo Beach for a dinner.  It was a wonderful experience!  The good was not important but the ambiance!  I heard again the sound of the sea waves!  I saw people fishing and surfing!  The air was nippy but that was perfect for me.  I was so happy!

here are some pictures:

Redondo Beach entrance.

the guys to my left are all Pinoys!  I heard them talking in Tagalog so I asked them to take a picture of my and Alyssa since our company (Tia Edna, Uncle Ray and his nephew) were already in the restaurant.

Moreover, in an investor's point of view, now is the right time to acquire real estate property.

Actually, choosing between two evils, this is more beneficial to our economy. This is tourism boosting and revenues will go to Philippine treasury kay Pinoy ra man ang tag-iya ug dili foreigner.

Daghan ang ma benifitan dinhe nga taga Anda & neighboring towns in terms of employment.

Thanks Maam Tessie for this link.

Noel is my classmate since elementary until high school.

Looking at his works, I remmembered my childhood, specially the sea sceneries. During high school, we sometimes cut classes and take bath at the old Tantrade pier.

I don't know if the video of this EB had been posted. Jun asked me to post it in YouTube and link it here.

However, due to my damaged computer and busy schedule, I was not able to find time.

I tried opening the DVD format but sound and video are in separate files. I ordered a converter software from my collegues to convert the files to a format uploadable to youtube. Maybe next week folks and sorry Jun, you know my busy schedule, so better late than never.

You may be right Sherlock GEC.

The following are questions a professional detective might ask:

1. Who will benefit most from the compensation?
2. What is the victim's enterprise and who are the competitors?
3. How the criminal planned the crime and how he knew the exact timings of their arrival?
4. Why is the victims lover not killed?
5. Who is the mastermind of the crime?
6. Why did the criminal overtake at the wrong side?
7. Unsa imong gikaon karon, aw hing tipas diay ko ug topic. Hehe  ;D unsa pa uban GEC imong observation and analysis. Gamiti ug lateral reasoning pareha ni aa.

What's the motive of the killing?

Are there others involved in this crime?

LASA â€" Loonanon Association of Saudi Arabia

Here are the photos as promised.

Part 1 â€" SOTOKIL Unlimitted

Lambay, Nokos, Sinugba, Shrimps, Tinuwa, Kinilaw nga Tangigi, Nilat-an tiil sa baka.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary after Dinner, followed by The Formal Launching.

As you notice, the Venue is just too simple. However, it is the noble vision and implementation that matters the most.

Moreover, in a foreign country like Saudi Arabia , we are practicing Christianity in hideouts, like what the apostles did. Practicing Christianity and possession of the Bible, Rosary, etc. is a crime in this country. Hence, I believe our prayers are most sweet to the ears of our Lord.

Happy Fiesta sa tanang mga Loonanon.

It is also my great honor to announce the launching of LASA

Unsa man ang LASA?

Ang LASA is short of Loonanon Association of Saudi Arabia.

LASA was formally launched yesterday September 4, 2008 at Silveriano "Jun" Garate's residence, with it's election and  induction of officers.

* Mr. Jose Luis "Joey" Pizarras Jr. immerged as the President of this group.

(Complete set of officers will be announced tomorrow)

LASA aims to empower the unemployed but skilled youths of Loon, improve their lives through free livelihood training, industrial trainings and ultimately employment abroad (KSA). These visionary Loonanons choosed their hometown as pilot town for their noble project. Should their mission be successful, they wished to spread their movement to other Bohol Towns.

With the advent of Oil Boom, construction business in Saudi Arabia is exploding, thus welders, construction personnel, engineers, foremen, mason, pipe fitters, electricians and other technical jobs are at high demand.

Leaders of this group vows to share thier God given talents and experties in helping the unemployed Loonanons.

I wish success to their simple yet sincere endeavor.

More details, pictures, videos and names of elected officers will be posted tomorrow.
#837
I agree with Lorenzo. It depends on your lifestyle. Some people are still at highschool, yet they prefer to look and act like they are 40 years old. Out there in the US, their is no such thing as generation gap. A 40 year old and a 14 year old can call themselves buddies or barkadas.

while there is an existing law that renders any animal found on the road that is not leashed to its owner as stray animal, and that government has the responsibility to rid the roads of stray animals, it may have its shortcoming if -- and only if-- it is government that is implementing the eradication of stray animals particularly dogs by shooting these animals on sight. at least, these dogs, regardless of who is shooting them off the streets, should be taken off the streets and disposed of properly. but i agree 110% with the idea of getting rid of stray dogs from our roads. this problem has been going on for so many years and no one has done anything about it until now when the news came out that bohol is in the top 5 provinces to have a high incidence of rabies, courtesy of the great work done by the very competent and able personnel of the department of agriculture particularly the office of the provincial veterinarian... in the meantime, aside from the cases of dog bite incidents in various parts of the province, police records will yield a good number of road accidents especially those involving motorcycles that resulted from stray dogs that suddenly cross the roads in the midst of vehicle traffic. a few years ago when i was still in bohol, i used to go out bicycling on a regular basis being a cycling enthusiast and i never failed to carry a stick in preparation for the ever-present dogs that would go after me and my bike each time i took a ride. i believe it is high time that some people start cleaning our streets of these stray dogs which are for the most part mean and menacing to pedestrians and motorists especially at night. i salute all those who are part of this clean up, you are all doing a great job. but dead dogs must also be disposed of properly because rabies resides in the saliva of rabid dogs. if dead dogs are left lying on the road, so is the rabies...

Mel or Musiclover,

So, why won't you unleash your talent for a good cause?

Example:
1. Si Bambi maayo mo compose ug poetry
2. Si Hapon maayo mo compose ug melody/tune

What I mean is 6 ra ka talent ang kinahanglan, makahimo na ta ug Music Video.

Puede ang theme sa kanta nag saysay sa iyang kinabuhi like never to give up or fight till the end.

Maayo ba ni nga idea?
#853
Good luck.

Maayo kanang imong gi buhat bay.

We went to clean the shrubs, brushes in our new place today at the lake. As my banana mowed the brushes, I, with my camera (op kurs) went into the middle of the property. And I saw these beautiful creatures. At first i only saw the baby while we start staring each other, the mother showed up! I thought that would me my end, they're going to attack me I thought. But i was wrong, they were so tamed "wild thing". The mother even get closer to me, seemed investigating who or what i was ;D ;D (ingon si banana, "nakakita lang sila sa ilang big sister daw! >:( laguta jud nako).

Have you ever encountered some wild life? if so Where?, when? How? and what did you do?
Here's my share for today. I still cant get over how tamed these mother and daughter were.

I captured every moment when they were with me until they left...

Bella,

Fresco siguro kaayo ang hangin aning dapita no.

Asa pa man ka adto nga panahona?

Personally, I like the removable ones (stickers).

So most of our professionals are aiming to migrate or work in foreign countries. It is but normal for a person to go for the best, ride the wagon to greener pasture. I must admit, I am one. Hehehe.

But unfortunately some Imigrants/OFWs find their status as poor in their new country or just 2nd class citizens and sometimes discriminated. Even the ones with professional degrees find themselves in humiliating jobs. Going abroad for the first time is like playing Russian roulette, uncertain. Most are suffering from loneliness and there is a constant desire of going home/joining their loved ones.

Regarding love of country, maybe you mean love of government. One may hate the government but still love his country. Since OFW’s prime goal is to improve the living condition of his family, it is already considered love of country, since family is the basic unit of our society.

Heroes: It is the will and courage that makes one a hero and not the result of an endevour. So there is no such thing as accidental heroes.
#870
So we can say that nurses who are stationed in the Philippines are sort of doing charity. They are not earning, but donating services.

Since they choose to stay, knowing thier loss; they can be of equal stand to thier overseas counterparts who are called heroes.

Kanang sipak takraw di ba kita man ang nag imbento ana nga game unya walay nag champion nga pinoy. Lupig man ta sa Indonesia ug Thailand.

So mag bugwal or mag daro sila sa planting season. So duha ra ang kapaingnan, mahimong boxer or mahimong singer.

OT: Leo, there is an assignment for your as a journalist. It just pop out of my mind that perhaps you could interview my mother. She was a celebrated athlete and during her time, she hold the Philippine record for 100m hurdles. You may ask your uncle Ben, they are relatives. There was also one athlete Simeon Toribio who produced medal during Tokyo Olympics in the 40's and my mother knows him because they were co-athletes, but my mother declined because her brother was among killed in the death march in Tarlac during WWII.
#876
I got it Leo. When I asked his name he preferred to be called Boggs.

Got any idea where he is now?

He told me he stayed in Butuan for long time and he stayed also in Laguna. His origin is from Guindulman.

You know, I like this picture. This is very smart. It is a realistic painting of a Tarsier and it's background is a painting of Chocolate Hills. The painting is made by an amateur painter which became the model of his painting. Very Tricky if you watch closely.

#880
Grazie,

Last year pa mi nag kita 2007.

Bella,

Preventing heart attack and high blood pressure is more on physical and psychological discipline.

Physical in the sense that all knowledge and information are useless if you don't act now. The hardest part is Psychological discipline of controlling your urges. I learned something from one of my indian collegue who practised yoga. He said that there are three parts of a person, which is body, brain and you. Body is your vehicle, brain is your computer and you the controller.

Dapat sila ang good leaders by example sa ilang mga athlete nga fit ilang lawas. Nakabasa pod ko nga infants from birth up to six months should not be fed with any carbohydrates such as rice or wheat as they will develop gluten intolerance that cause type 1 diabetes or juvenile diabetes in later childhood stage.

Infants up to six months should be fed only with mothers milk or non-gluten formula. The problem in the Philippines is that they start feeding infants with boiled rice at 3 months old which is dangerous.

Childhood diabetes will complicate to heart and artery disease in adult life.

So ayaw gyud na pakan-a ug nilugaw nang inyong mga anak before six months old. Paliti gyud ug formula bahala ug mahal.

to Macky: i didn't know that there is a trend of rising criminality in bohol. while it might be helpful to effectively diagnose the problem by conducting researches and studies, it might also be beneficial to look at particular models by which municipal executives can deal with such a problem. what comes to mind right now is the experience with which davao city and singapore have minimized criminality. but there might be other models to learn from though.

Last year, Bohol experienced the worst in criminal activities. There were series of Robberies like the daginot gang and the most talked about bank robbery & shoot-out that killed a security guard, the killing of Jack Arat Lloren, cases of rapes, murders, etc. This has prompted some groups in the city to form a Death Squad last year.

Probably last year was the highest criminality rate. I believe crime has something to do with the psychological well being of a person and the best prevention is through psychological evaluation of every citizen.

One of my relative Bryan Carroll Ferniz is an advocate of "The Wall of Angels", a group to counsel and assist people with suicidal problems.

You may become a member of this life saving group. http://www.suicide.org/wall-of-angels-suicide-memorials.html

Please read the suicide stories on that website and you will know that not all suicides are act of foolishness. They are victims of people who don't care.

I know Lipitor since 2006 when my late mother in law had CKD - Chronic Kidney Disease and at that time her disease was on ESRD - End Stage Renal Dysfunction, that means doctors could not save her kidneys and the only relief is a dialysis or a transplant. Kidney disease is very tricky because you will never know the symptoms as long as your kindneys are still functioning 20% even if you have the disease. You will only experience symptoms once your kidneys are 5% functioning, when it is already too late to save it.

Sadly, I had no money that time for the expensive process. So, what I did was do research. I found an article that Lipitor which is a cholesterol cutting drug can boost kidney function from 5% up to 20%. The dosage I forgot, but it should be at the highest, maybe 500 mg.

Main causes of CKD is diabetes (due to hardening of arteries), high blood pressure and cholesterol. The best preventive measure is to avoid the cause and to have yearly or bi-yearly creatinine test, which is not a costly procedure and could save your life. Africans, Pacific people including Filipinos are prone to this disease.

Hence it is my honor to recommend:

Grace Pitoy Ngatia (CA)
Joey Tabacco (NYC)
Atty. Glen P. Hubahib (CA)

My relative "Mr. Roldan Sarmiento" of Michigan (silingan nila ni Bella). He is the organizer of Sarmiento clan and one of his proposed project this coming May 2009 is to conduct a medical mission. This plan is still under brainstorming stage and I will post full details later.
