The last three are Loonanons, as is Pureza (of the Veloso Clan from Barangay Napo). BertSal is currently mayor of Catigbian and Bohol LMP president. Rene and Yul are first cousins. BertSal allegedly backed out recently. Rene may give way for Yul or vice versa, depending on support from the masa. It can be recalled that Yul, a Provincial Board first-termer, topped the elections in 2007 (Sangguniang Panlalawigan) despite being on the opposition ticket. In the First District he topped in all towns including Tagbilaran; except in Balilihan where he ranked only 4th. Obviously, there was manipulation here. Yul was able to amass more than 50,000 votes over the next in rank. In Bohol, this lead is already considered very significant. Of the contenders, Yul is likely a winner if ever he runs for Congress.

Last Saturday I saw "Nandito Ako . . . Nagmamahal sa Iyo" only because the movie was entirely shot in Bohol. As expected, I saw familiar places and faces. But the movie was bad. Its stars are "wa-il", they have yet to create a name for themselves. The moviehouse was filled to the brim . . . with empty seats. I think there were only nine of us inside the theater. Glac, I was about to enter the seminary after college courtesy unta of the IHMS rector at that time who was a relative by affinity. Pero wala ko modayon tungod kay mas ok nako nga walay mautangan og kabubut-on.  Instead, I enjoyed a full college scholarship elsewhere which, modesty aside, I was able to maintain until I graduated. But while in college, I was the first altar boy when mass on campus was revived. I trained altar boys, served as sacristan mayor, and kept all the priest's and mass paraphernalia inside a big milk box that I had to carry after mass to my dorm where it stayed the whole week. I assigned persons/dorms for the venue preparation, readings, flowers, hosting (the best part: paniudto sa pari ug altar boys). All these I did for five years. I also founded a church choir which still exists up to this day. It is now on its 31st year of service to the Catholic community of my alma mater. Our group holds an annual reunion and retreat, and has alumni clusters all over the country and abroad. Early masses were held in a big classroom, later in an abandoned chapel that we repaired, partly from funds we were able to raise from my choir's concert in the early 1980s. In about 15 years, what used to be a small church (building and people) became a full-fledged parish covering 10 barangays. I am very proud to have become part of the history of the Holy Spirit Parish of the Diocese of Maasin.

A person is usually interested in anything he deems beautiful but can't make himself. That is why if he can't make a beautiful bench, he at least tries to capture its best camera angle, or paint it. Afterwhich he sometimes experiences an indescribable feeling of satisfaction.

The essence of a bench is its being sat upon. A bare bench is a lonely bench. The benches shown here are God's miracles expressed through the creativity of his creation, the artists. Had the benches not been photographed so beautifully we would have missed the beauty of every detail. Congratulations and thanks to the contributors.

I like the blue bench contrasting the snow and the brown hues.

Forming a triangle with northern Bohol, Cebu and Leyte as boundaries is the Camotes Sea. The sea between southern Bohol and northern Mindanao is now the Bohol Sea.
