this is managed by the cammunity broadcast council composed of multi-sectors in Jagna, so it is a fine way of ensuring that it does not convert itself into a political machinery.

besides, owned by Jagna and donated by Philos, it should be one for the record.

It has already gotten an NTC permit to broadcast and only awaits a congressional franchise to fully serve the community, not as a commercial station but a community forum station.

ag Radyo Natin, apo, naa pa?

Quote from: aduy on March 13, 2009, 04:48:58 AM
Just a few days after Jomari Yllana and Pops Fernandez announced their break-up, Maui Taylor was seen with Jomari in Bataan, fueling rumors that she could have been the cause of the couple's split.

There were pictures taken in Bataan which prove that both of them were in the same group of friends, including one particular photo where Yllana is seen leaning towards Maui, with his nose just inches from the sexy actress's hair.

In an interview with SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon on Thursday, Taylor said they never intended to meet in Bataan, claiming that her group came first before Yllana's. “Actually I asked him nga kung what happened. Ayaw naman niya mag elaborate. So let’s leave it at that na lang.

She said that Yllana was evasive when she asked him about the reason for the break-up, but he later told her that he and Pops "just don't get along anymore."

Taylor also denied allegations that she was the reason for the breakup. “Oh, my God, please, for the record, hindi po ako ang third party. Yung itsura kong ito, I know hindi ako yung type ni Joms,” Taylor said

Should You Stay Or Should You Go?
(Josey Vogels) Mar 10, 2009

I don't understand why everyone got so mad at Jason. Okay, so maybe The Bachelor shouldn't have proposed to Melissa on national television when he was clearly conflicted and had unresolved feelings for Molly. But give the guy a break. He got caught up in the moment (along with the small handful of 17 million viewers who watched the finale of the popular reality show) and convinced himself that a lifetime with Melissa was the way to go.

And it's not like he turned around the next day and ditched her. It was six weeks later. A lot can happen in six weeks. Would you rather he stay in the relationship, even marry Melissa, simply because he said he would on national TV? Because, goodness knows, far too many of us stay in relationships way beyond their due date. We come up with all kinds of excuses to hang on: He's not so bad... It's better than being alone... What if I don't meet someone else?... I don't want to hurt her feelings... Maybe I need to try harder.

Relationship Coach Susie Collins runs several relationship advice websites with her husband Otto, among them stayorgo.com. She says Jason did the right thing by listening to his heart and not trying to make a relationship work that was doomed to fail ? especially when his heart was saying, "Be with Molly." Jason said there were warning signs telling him Melissa had similar characteristics to women he'd been with before -- and those relationships hadn't worked out. These are good signs to heed, says Collins. If you can't decide whether or not it's worth sticking it out with someone when you're having doubts, ask yourself if your partner is similar to those in past relationships that haven't worked out. In other words, are you making the same mistakes over and over again ? only with different people? ?And because there is some truth to that old adage: it's not you it's me, Collins suggests you ask yourself some tough personal questions before dragging someone else along for a ride to nowhere, such as: Why are you in the relationship at all? What are you afraid of if you stay? If you go?

"If you don't invest some quality time now in taking an honest and truthful look at the state of your relationship, you could stay stuck in this place of indecision for a very long time,"says Collins. "It's amazing how many of us are content to stay stuck in limbo about their relationship.? Especially given most of us don't even have the threat of being humiliated and scorned on national TV to stop us from doing something about it.

Nice to interact with you here Grazie.

Despite the hardships our family gone through, I am not bitter with life. I've encountered people who were sincere in helping unconditionally.  That is why I have to give back to whoever in memory of some kindhearted men who've already left.  There is no amount of gratefulness I have for those people who have helped me at the time when I was less privileged; and in the process I've learned to grow, learned to forgive and learned to give and share bisan dili dato.

you're a one good fellow, sir. my salute to you.

basta as far as i know, even nestor was allegedly warned sa DyTR management for conduct unbecoming of mediamen perhaps?
Let me just get tis clear, whats printed in the paper may be biased as Bohol Chronicle was in it and must insert their share. Am not saying Karaan said exactly that or it was sewer water nestor got but newspapers can really go a loooong long way to say what they want.

Im not defending Karaan because i know she did a hell of a job not just as a govt paid employee but as an ordinary citizen getting her own shot at getting even

I am also making sure here that i see it not as an affront to media but as a personal attack to get even, it just happens that the media tag becomes a part of it because he was, and he did sit on a studio booth.

I would understand if i get the same treatment becuause i did a hell of a job maligning a person and not the office she represents.

Glacier,

Perhaps you have mis-interpreted my point on the matter regarding Marcos, which you have brought to this thread.

But let me clear this for you.

Yes, I understand that Marcos' had a substantial negative effect on families, and on the government. I never once said that I completely pardoned his actions, nor did I say I accepted such. I reiterate, I agreed with the popular consensus that he did abuse his power.

I, however, admire his intelligence, his quaint nature, and the vision he had for the country during his earlier term (prior to martial law, prior to Imelda's involvement power). I admire his positive message, I admire the faith he had in the country in his 1st term and even 2nd term.

There are certain characteristics that I admire of Ferdinand Marcos; not everything, but certain. Specific.

The man, like any other man, had his strengths, his weaknesses; the goods and the bads.

What I'm trying to share with you, and others who mis-translated my admiration for Marcos is that--I admire the President that He Could Have Been.

Lorenzo

enzo

you don't have to defend or clarify yourself to me on this matter. i know where you're coming from,  when you express your points, that are intuitive and academic.

besides, don't believe that i was referring these words (you quoted from me) to you or my misunderstanding of your position. i was simply replying simplylee's posts. in my honest self, i never implied this to any individual, let alone name names because i would be unfair to the concerned. if it does get to your nerve, it is not in my intent.

since you address this to my attention, let me just express my own. the recent ambience of the discussion of the thread on Marcos may have surprised you. for that i understand. you may have felt that you're misconstrued, no, you aren't. i think the problem is that you may have underestimated the extent and profundity of the sensitivity underneath the issue, although he's been long gone and dead. the words in your analysis and comparisons fail to do justice to the hurts and wounds left by that regime, which i always believe, is the precursor of the ills of the present state of our nation; it feels to me adding insult to injury. While your words paint an intelligent, visionary, quaint, Machiavellian, etc. sort of a man, it looks to me like a haunting shadow of a diabolical past. your admiration against the disappointment; your erudite analysis against the profound experience of many.

i wonder why that thread goes that far. in my part, there's no more point of arousing a delicate discussion when you're enjoying the benefits of exercising the brain, while i cannot without injuring the cicatrix of a wounded past. you've made the points of your admiration; i have made mine, i suppose. Yes, He Could Have Been. He could have been....And it remains that way because he never was, to me.

Me thinks this is enough of it. let's move on. God bless.

there's no doubt those means of generating energy can benefit a country like ours. more feasibility studies and researches are needed in order to make the implementation of programs efficient. however the lack of political will of our government and the lack of trust of our people to our government are engaged too deep to unlock. we may be able to go any further, but not any better. thus, supporting one to the other is necessary. does our government have the will to assure our people of its good intentions? are the people willing to believe the government?

Twelve

Tuesday March 10, 2009 on CBC

A filmmaker confronts personal demons with help from 12 people who, like him, all came to Canada when they were 12 years old.

Lester Alfonso came to Canada from the Philippines and that first year shaped who he is today. His film asks the question: if you could go back and speak to your 12-year-old self, what would you say? Alfonso attempts to answer this question by interviewing a dozen people about this pivotal moment in their lives. On the cusp of surging teenage hormones, 12-year-olds often experience emotions with more intensity. Adapting to a new country at this age can be overwhelming and initial impressions sometimes last a lifetime. The stories told recall both pleasure and pain - ranging from the joy of shopping in a store filled with goods to the shame of personal humiliation by a teacher.
Lester Alfonso Lester Alfonso, filmmaker

By collecting other people's stories and soliciting their words of advice, Alfonso is forced to face some painful memories from his own past. Will this journey finally set him free? Twelve is an utterly unique and visually stylish take on what it means to become Canadian.  (excerpt)

World Daily News / 5 Heads Found In Mexico

5 human heads discovered in ice chests in central Mexico

(CNN) -- Five human heads were found in ice chests on Tuesday under a ficus tree in the central Mexican state of Jalisco, police said.

Police in Jalisco, Mexico, discovered five heads beside a road to Guadalajara on Tuesday morning.

The grisly find appeared to be the latest indication of drug cartels fighting for supremacy in battles that have left thousands dead.

Police in the municipality of Ixtlahuacan del Rio were informed of the discovery at 2 a.m., the prosecutor's office said in a written statement.

Each head was found in a separate ice chest beside a road leading to the city of Guadalajara, police said.

The tops of the ice chests were inscribed with messages, among them, one that threatened further violence.

"Like these, I am going to finish everyone," says one. "I'm going after you, 'Goyo.'"

Another said, "Here we go, 'Goyo,' idiot."

The victims' eyes were taped shut and the heads had been severed only a few hours before they were discovered, the statement said.

The victims -- all of them men -- were estimated at 30 to 45 years of age.

No bullet wounds were visible and there was no indication the men had been tortured, although experts would need to study the bodies to be sure, it added.

Municipal police said one of the heads appeared to belong to someone known in the community.

Jalisco is near the state of Sinaloa, where the Sinaloa cartel is based.

naa konoy wakwak manukob og batang laagan. paskang pagkailara nako,
kay unyag gutomon. haskang buanga, pagkalayo man diay atong among
naluwas akong kinabuhi, apan mibudlot akong tiyan
kining awita maoy nagpahinumdum nako niadtong hitabo...

"The Philippines is a nation of 40 million cowards and one son of a bitch." -- by unnamed ranking cabinet member of the Reagan administration, 1982. (attributed to Secretary of State George Shultz)

"The second most corrupt head of government ever (after Suharto)" -- by Transparency International, 2003

..."But the biggest treasure trove may be sheaves of documents that were brought to Hawaii by the Marcoses. Lawyers representing the Aquino government in the U.S. believe these papers could detail not only the size of the Marcos fortune worldwide, but also how it was acquired. Through diplomatic channels, Aquino has asked for a full inventory of the documents, but the Reagan Administration will undoubtedly defer the matter to the courts. Anticipating a long legal battle, Salonga makes no effort to conceal his frustration. "My God, it seems incongruous to me that customs officials in Honolulu have access to these documents, and yet the Philippine government does not," he says. "What made it possible for Marcos to rule this country for 20 years was the impact of American backing. As Bishop Desmond Tutu said when he testified before Congress, 'Your policy is evil, immoral and totally unchristian.' "
