Beloved Mother, I come to you with prayers for healing of mind, body and spirit. I ask you to
hear my special concern (state petition) and to place my needs before your Son who you nurtured and cared for with all your heart. Help me to release all fears and doubts that cause me anxiety and bring me peace and comfort through your blessed intercession.

Let me be receptive of God's will and help me to learn compassion through my suffering. Teach me to love others as brothers and sisters in Christ.
Give me the strength and understanding to forgive and to receive others' forgiveness. Blessed Mother, help me to grow closer to your Son in everything I do. Renew my spirit and restore my soul through your intercession.

I seek your guidance and protection, remembering these words: "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." PS 51:10 All this I pray in Jesus' name.
Amen.

O Immaculate Mary, Dear Mother, Consoler,
I take refuge in your most lovable Heart with all the trust of which I am capable.
You shall be the dearest object of my love and my veneration.
From you, the dispenser of heavenly treasures, I shall always seek peace in my troubles,
light in my doubts, defence in my dangers, help in my needs .
Be therefore, my refuge, my strength, my consolation O Mary Consoler.
At the hour of my death, graciously receive the last beats of my heart, and obtain for me a place in that heavenly country,
where as one, all hearts shall praise forever the adorable Heart of Jesus, with your most lovable Heart,
O Mary, my Mother, Consoler of the Afflicted, pray for us, who have recourse to you.
Amen.

Our Lady, Health of the Sick, I look to you for the comfort of a mother's love,
I pray to you on behalf of those who are suffering and for my own healing needs.

Mary, your love strengthens me and brings me peace.

Our Lady, Health of the Sick, embrace all who are emotionally and physically ill
that they may return to good health under your tender care.
And please intercede for my very special needs (state your needs/intention.)

Mary, your motherly love strengthens me and brings me peace. Amen.

Prayer to Our Lady, Health of the Sick

Virgin, most holy, Mother of the Word Incarnate, Treasurer of graces, and Refuge of sinners, I fly top your motherly affection with lively faith, and I beg of you the grace ever to do the will of God.

Into your most holy hands I commit the keeping of my heart, asking you for health of soul and body, in the certain hope that you, my most loving Mother, will hear my prayer.

Into the bosom of your tender mercy, this day, every day of my life, and at the hour of my death, I commend my soul and body.

To you I entrust all my hopes and consolations, all my trials and miseries, my life and the end of my life, that all my actions may be ordered and disposed according to your will and that of your Divine Son. Amen.

A Prayer for Healing a Loved One

All our times are in Thy hand.
All diseases come at Thy call, and go at Thy bidding.
Thou redeemest our life from destruction, and crownest us with loving kindness and tender mercies. We bless Thee, that Thou hast heard prayer, and commanded deliverances for our friend and Thy servant, who has been under Thine afflicting hand.
He (or she) was brought low, but Thou hast helped him (her). May he (she) not only live, but declare the works of the Lord!
As Thou hast delivered his eyes from tears, his feet from falling, and his soul from death, may he daily inquire:What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits towards me,and resolve to offer unto Thee the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and to call upon the name of the Lord.

May we ever remember that recovery is only a reprieve and that some day we will go to our rest in the Lord. May we therefore secure the righteous path and live with eternity ever in our view.

Amen

A Prayer for Healing

Lord, You invite all who are burdened to come to you. Allow Your healing Hand to heal me. Touch my soul with Your compassion for others; touch my heart with Your courage and infinite Love for all; touch my mind with Your Wisdom, and may my mouth always proclaim Your praise. Teach me to reach out to You in all my needs, and help me to lead others to You by my example.

Most loving Heart of Jesus, bring me health in body and spirit that I may serve You with all my strength. Touch gently this life which you have created, now and forever.
Amen.

Prayer before surgery:

O Jesus Christ, Messiah and Lord, grant me joyful acceptance of the surgery which awaits me, and let this be the relief and cure which I seek. Make skilled the work of the surgeon and that of his team for it is unto their knowledge and skill that I give myself for healing. I pray You, O Lord, that this procedure will be without complication, and that my recovery will be speedy and complete.

O' St.Jude, the close relative of the Holy Family, beloved  son of  the Holy Trinity, prompt succour of the devotees, unfailing supporter of the desperate, I turn to you for help with confidence. Make haste to help me. Remember, O powerful Apostle, that God has adorned you with the rare gift of coming to the help of the  most abandoned and  the desperate cases. Turn your eyes of  pity  and love towards me. My life has become a continous 'way of the cross', and my days have become sorrowful, my heart has become a deep ocean of tears and all the paths of life, I see full of thorns. There is hardly every moment in my life which does not give me pain and agony. I have reached the verge of utter despair, my heart  is numb within me. Fear and anxiety  have filled  my heart. I now approach you  in  deep agony and  I will not leave you until you come downto help me.

O! Powerful Apostle! hasten to come to my aid.

Help me to proclaim your goodness and power and to sing your praises. I promise that all the days of my life here on earth, I  will  ever sing  your wondrous deep  until  I  join you to sing  unceasingly the infinite mercy of God in Heaven.

Most Holy Apostle, St.Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your  beloved  Master into the hands of His enemies, has caused you to be forgotten  by many; but the Church  honours  and  invokes you  universally as  the patron of hopeless cases of  things despaired of. O' St. Jude, pray  for  me who am so miserable; make use,  I  implore  you  of  that  particular privilege accorded to you to  bring  visible  and  speedy  help, where  help  is  almost  despaired of. Come  to  my assistance  in  this great  need  that I  may receive consolation  and  encouragement  of  Heaven  in  all  my necessities, tribulations  and  sufferings  and that I may thank God along with you and all the saints forever. I promise you, O blessed St.Jude to be ever mindful of this great favour and I will never cease to honour you as my special and powerful patron & to do all  in my power to encourage devotion to you.

A poem for isles:

written by: Taylor Jackson
http://teenink.com/poetry/free_verse/article/324605/Where-Art-Thou/

Sitting silently pondering
Curiously cautiously wondering
Waiting wearily gazing
about the new world.
Flat screens, touch screens, and gizmos
Where did letters and poetry go?
Slowly fading away.
Creatively compiling words
Freely forming pictures
Wishfully writing dreams
On a planefully simple paper.
iPod iPad iTouch
I hope I feel I write
Shiny screens surrounding
Typing, texting, little talking
Continually creatively expressing
with a pencil in my hand.

One can see the relationship between the progression of human tools and human cognitive development throughout the epochs. Paleolithic stone tools provide a concrete evidence of major developments in human behavioral and cognitive evolution. In a research conducted by Stout, Passingham, Frith, Apel, and Chaminade (2011), the study revealed the relationship between evolving cognitive mechanisms and cultural transmission of increasing complex prehistoric technologies. They examined the two ancient tool methods: the Oldowan method which was documented by the earliest type of tools created some 2.5 million years ago. The other tool method was the Acheulean method ,which was used some 500 thousand years ago. Subjects were asked to use the two different tools and their neural activity were documented in the process. Results showed that understanding of Acheulean toolmaking  involves increased demands for the recognition of abstract technological intentions. The use of Acheulean toolmaking was associated with activation of left anterior intraparietal and inferior frontal sulci, indicating the relevance  of resonance mechanisms (Stout et al, 2011).

One notices that as human civilizations relied on technology for their survival, from the most basic tools , which was used to hunt and gather foods, to the use of technologies that were meant to expand societies. Technological advancements paralleled human social evolution, which required and relied on neural and cognitive mastery. One thing that I can’t help but fathom is how we , as a people, have truly advanced. Ten thousand years ago, our ancestors were nomadic peoples living and relying on sedentary lifestyles and at the mercy of nature. Now, in our advances, man has the power to harness nuclear power and can literally generate power as strong as the sun to power entire cities, nations, and continents.

The time is 12:30 am and i just got home from work. had a long 12 hour shift, after work, attended class for my Ph.D program. I'm now on my 4th doctoral class and its called "History of Conceptual Psychology". Finally a class that I like..i admit..one of the reasons for my interest in this class is that it delves more onto Greek philosophies than the proverbial medicine and psychological theories that i see so much at work. I love this class. There are only 14 doctoral students in my class...so i like it because we have a nice tight bunch of doctoral learners. There are two people who i've befriended already: Alfredo and Timothy. Alfredo is a Ph.D candidate in Industrial Organizational Psychology and Timothy is a Ph.D candidate in Organizational Leadership. Both of them are executives at Prudential Life Insurance, a major health insurance company here. Their regional headquarters for the midwest is here in Chicago..lol. Good to network with these two gentlemen.

So, what am i doing? I'm , aside from browsing TB, working on a paper that is due tomorrow. Then reading 2 chapters.

Truly, the sweeter things in life are challenging.

this land is mine

hihihihi! paro ra diay ni sa canta "This Land is Your Land"

Chorus:
This land is your land, this land is my land
From California, to the New York Island
From the redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me

As I was walking a ribbon of highway
I saw above me an endless skyway
I saw below me a golden valley
This land was made for you and me

Chorus

I've roamed and rambled and I've followed my footsteps
To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts
And all around me a voice was sounding
This land was made for you and me

Chorus

The sun comes shining as I was strolling
The wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling
The fog was lifting a voice come chanting
This land was made for you and me

Chorus

As I was walkin'  -  I saw a sign there
And that sign said - no tress passin'
But on the other side  .... it didn't say nothin!
Now that side was made for you and me!

Chorus

In the squares of the city - In the shadow of the steeple
Near the relief office - I see my people
And some are grumblin' and some are wonderin'
If this land's still made for you and me.

Chorus (2x)

Seppuku. Honor preserved in death.

What is the Filipino view of this Japanese concept?

This is why teasing should be kept to a minimum. Words can hurt people.
