haha, quite so, Ms. Cujo. Perhaps the civil war soldier will carry you and recite a sweet line or two for you...hehe
It's good to see that you like antiques..and have a fond interest in fine things, even old fine things :) I do too.
In regards to the bracelet--yes it was a flapper age bracelet. I purchsed it in Bloomfield, NJ (north jersey) where there was a strong flapper community during the turn of the 20th century. Sometimes, my dear, I like to go to old antique shops and look at their old furniture, their old cigar holders, and the old books.

I'm the sport for old books---that of which is a subject for another discussion, me-thinks.

Sweet hugs for you,
Bran Lorenz

Ouch! Some  truth hurts. Its true the way they handled the hostage situation appears stupid. You can go one by one of the mistakes but whats done is done.Im sure they learned their mistakes now.I hope.
I live here in U.S. and it was on the news once maybe. As for our Filipino culture I am proud of it.I would never changed it for the world.I don't care if it is silly to some.Even if I married a white guy {25 years today actually} I would not call Filipino men dumb{ was I right in translating the word tanga?} because I have brothers and they are smart men.
I feel bad of what happen but as for the backlash from other countries I think it will blow over when new headlines comes along...
P.S.
As for your wife sending money to her relatives you just have to learn to put up or shut up!

Really? One of my hobbies, Ms. Cujo, is visiting antique shops..
:)

There was one bracelet that I got for my gf, 'twas from the 1920s..the style was that of the Flapper Age.
The gem was blue, and the bracelet fit perfectly for her. That's the thing about me, I like to find things that are unique, rare, and like things with meaning, history as well as style.

Yes! Flapper girls are fun to see.One time I found a lot of Flapper girls wall Plaque and I end up giving it to Ms.Wolf because her husband loves them.I don't go to antiques shops only one time when me and my husband went to England and I checked their shops.Talking about antiques wow!I love estate sales here in U.s. and I've been to few auctions.Makatawa ka ug unsay gi collect sa mga americans nga gikonsider nila nga antiques.Naay mga caldero, luwag, plato, nga antique para nila pero we still uses them in the philippines! Most of the stuff in my house are old. From small chandelliers, paintings and furnitures are antiques. My husband joke that one of these nights while he's at work I would be hearing someone walking. ;D.I said I don't mind as long as it is a civil war soldier. :)

A man decided to march in the Holy Crusades. Concluding that his wife should wear a chastity belt while he is gone, he locks up her nether regions and gives the key to his best friend.

He tells him, "If I do not return within four years, unlock my wife and set her free to live a normal life."

So, the husband leaves on horseback and about a half hour later, he sees a cloud of dust behind him. He waits for it to come closer and sees his best friend.

"What's wrong?" he asks.

"You gave me the wrong key!"

Love Talk / Re: LoVe is Just Like Waiting for a Bus
August 30, 2010, 08:17:40 PM
Quote from: Scarb on March 31, 2010, 10:21:38 PM
You know, love is just like waiting for a bus. When the bus comes,
you look at it and you tell yourself "Geee...so full....can't sit down.
I'll wait for the next one". So you let the bus go and waited for the second bus.
   Then the second bus came,
you looked at it and say, "Yuck...this bus is so old...so shabby!"
So you let the bus go and again, decided to wait for the next bus.

After a while another bus came, it's not crowded, not old but you said, "g***... not air-conditioned,
better wait for the next one".  So, again you let the bus go and decided to wait for the next bus.
Then suddenly the sky got dark as it was going to pour hard.
You panicked and jumped immediately on to the next bus.
It was not until much later that you found out that you had boarded the wrong bus!

So you wasted your time and money waiting for the bus that you wanted!
But even if an air-conditioned bus came,
there was no way you could be certain that the air-conditioned bus
won't break down or whether the air conditioner suited you well. So people,
wanting to get on the bus that you want is not wrong per se.
But it definitely wouldn't hurt if we sometimes try boarding a bus that passes us by chance, right?
If you find that the "bus" doesn't suit you just press the red button and get off the bus! (as simple as that!) Fair enough?
You don't think so?.... But hey, who said life is fair?
The best thing to do is open your eyes wide while you probe the bus.
i said it before and I'll say it again, "If it doesn't suit you, get off".

But you must always have an extra something, which you could use for the next bus that comes,
But wait... I'm sure you had this experience before...
You saw a bus coming (the bus that you want, of course)
flagged it but the driver acted as if he did not see you and zoomed past you!
It just wasn't meant for you! The bottom line is,
being loved is like waiting for a bus you want.
But getting on the bus that just comes along
and appreciating it by giving it a chance depends totally on you.
If you haven't made any choice, WALK! Walking is like being out of love.
The good side of it is you can still choose any bus you want...
Well, the rest who couldn't afford another ride
would just have to be content with the bus they rode on, ugly or not.

So in choosing your bus, it's better to choose a bus you are already familiar with
rather than gamble with a bus that is unfamiliar to you.
But, then again, life wouldn't be complete without the risks involved. ^♥^

One more thing… there’s one bus that I forgot to tell you about
-THE BUS THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO WAIT FOR...
IT WILL JUST STOP ON ITS OWN AND WILL ASK YOU TO COME INSIDE
AND TAKE YOU FOR A FREE RIDE FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE ^â—‹^  ;D

And...make sure you fasten your seat belt  because it could be a bumpy ride towards the lasting love you hope for. ;D

Luoran ko sa una, dali ra ko mo loose interest by the mere answer and actions of people that acted lewd and gave inappropriate responses. It was a mistake because it was a failure to see the true colors of people when in fact the basis of their actions and talk was just their persona. Years later and with patience, i learned to properly read into people and my 'Luoran-ness' was controlled; na checked na.

Karon, i take everything with a laugh , and a pinch of salt.

Everybody can make mistakes.Officials can point fingers at each other whose fault was it to botched up the rescue of the hostages, for all the world to see.Be it lesson to be learned from this tragic mistakes that cost lives of those visitors of our country. The media made it worst by televising every detail of the crucial rescue and from what I understand that also triggers the gunman to do what he did.I could not imagine what those people inside the bus went through those painful hours before they died,.God Bless their souls...

Korek ka dyan Ms. Isles.Kung manulat sila {in which I enjoy reading by the way } lalom kaayo ang mga balak binisaya, reminds me of my grandpa's  pinulungan. On the other hand their writing about sex "sounds" like an appetite of that 20 or 30 something year old men!

General Topic / Re: We Are All Starved For Time
July 26, 2010, 08:13:20 PM
I never know the word "stress out" until I came here in U.S.Time is you don't have.So many things to do,coming home from work too tired to do some of the things you plan to do.Just to ran an errand already uses a part of your day,how time flies. Now that I am approaching 50 years old and one of my best friend's cancer is back it saddened me to think and made me realize there is more to life than just work..work..work.

Hi there cujo--i just learned about that thread thru another friend too, so i joined the forum to post and express my appreciation.
I'm impressed, coz i don't even remember those dates myself. Some ppol are just very good at dates or whatever, and unfortunately, i'm not one of them. I have selective amnesia too just like the rest of the world. ;D
What's your friend's name?? :) I jst went with my younger bro to the United Nations Headquarters in NY for a guided tour, and met up some Filipinos there too. It's good to meet co-Pinoys who are doing good in their line of work. It makes you feel proud to be Pinoy.
GOD bless the Phils more! ;) 8)

I don't think it is proper etiquette to mention my friend name without asking permission first in which I did.My friend choose not to.Maybe one day  you would come across my friend here in Tb...Who knows!

This is not the only forum i'm at. I started posting here in response to a thread where they have meh featured by a good friend, Fiel. Otherwise, I have other things to do. You posted in reference to meh--and i don't want to ignore ppol. That's just not my nature.
Thanks for the 'welcome,' Islander. Boholanos are known to be friendly. Let's keep it that way. ;)

Oh...So you're THE Dr.Vanessa Joyce Evardone,In your profession you could not afford to ignore people.I'm impressed the way your friend remembers all the dates and accomplishments in your life.I wish my bff did not become a TB member before me or I could have introduced her in TB.She is like you beauty and brain, although I don't remember the dates when she was working in the Congress and United Nations.I guess I have to go to the other thread about "Do you have to know everything about your friends past" something like that...

I suppose it's not just due to the loss of stamina but also to the fact that as we grow older, we discover many other interesting pursuits aside from sex.

Yes! Marriage is not all about sex.It is still important but as you matured it makes it more appreciated and special with the same man you married all these years. It sounds corny but true.
