The only place they know where to be at... next to each one

Sigh and sign of helplessness

Residents in state of confusion

Mothers and their kids outside crying out in fear and helplessness

"Gawad Kalinga" is an urban public housing project for local indigents situated in Barrio Cabawan, Tagbilaran. Whether it's a government, public or private entity I really have no idea. I just know them as my neighbors and know some people personally. I assume they also know me as their priest-neighbor who comes visit once a year from the States. But nonetheless we consider ourselves really good neighbors, acquaintance... friends to some. Just when the 7.2 magnitude earthquake subsided on October 15th, 2013, they were the first people that came to mind. In no time I found myself right in their midst making sure they were all okay. Thank God they were!

But here's what I found or witnessed...
