I fully understand your sentiments prescious.  I have experienced the same.  But we have varied members in TB who come from different backgrounds with different framework.  So the best you can do is to rebutt them or might as well, which is more effective, simply ignore them.

Think about border and territorial conflict of Gaza and of Kashmir?  Was there any long term solution?  Did war solve everything?  and would you like to migrate in Israel with your entire family?

When we think that we have power over the universe and we have full control over the world, of other people and of our lives, the concept of a God is becoming irrelevant.

When we think that day to day events are natural course of nature and sometimes are influenced by people, less can we think of a God.

True.  In modern societies, governments are not changed by popular uprisings but by manner of representative election.  It is an indication of a weak government when it is easily thrown out by the mob. But the situation in EDSA 1 left the people with no choice but to go to the streets.
The difference between the Edsa 1 and Edsa 2 is clear.  In Edsa 1, the dictatorial regime of Marcus can only be displaced through revolution since the system of election was flawed.  Please remember the snap elections a year before the Edsa.  The people did not have a choice. It was also likely to be a military uprising backed by the military.   Marcus was in great danger when his favorite pets, Ramos and Enrile withdrew their support for him.  The civilian uprising came after calls of revolution from radio veritas,  pronounced by Cardinal Sin.
It was not Cory's fight.  If it was, then she should have stayed longer in office but she did not.  She ended her term like any other elected president.  She was even confronted with 9 coup attempts but she withstood the challenge.  The RAM was envious to Cory since they thought they were responsible for the EDSA revolution, and now, a housewife took their dreams away.  Gregorio Honasans plan was simple, that was to establish a military junta.  Thank God, it did not prospered.

EDSA 2 was primarily a civilian uprising backed by the military.  The popular revolution was ignited because of the non-opening of the second envelope of evidence against Pres. Estrada.  This was of course clearly a rule of the mob.   There could still be other legal remedies which could be used by the prosecution, but they did not observed the rule of law.  They did not allow the impeachment proceedings to finish before taking any action. This was an indication that we do not have trust in our legal systems and that is a shame. Popular revolution should only be done as a last resort.

We wanted to evade fire, but we were thrown to the burning furnace.  Now, a devil enjoys the fruit of EDSA 2.

One of the things I have found out in my researches in our province of Bohol is that more and more women are working taking over the social role of men, who are the breadwinners at home.  Numbers are growing in towns plagued by endemic poverty and stagnated development.  Most of them want  to pursue greener pastures in Manila as domestic helpers and factory workers.  The educated youth and new graduates do not also tend to settle in the province but might as well, look for better opportunities in the neighboring province of Cebu and anywhere else in the world.

The Bol-anon diaspora is growing. Is this gender related? We cannot draw conclusion to that.  But it is alarming to know what some people told me that there are houses in some towns which are literally abandoned. Does this signal hopelessness?

Women's economic role in Bol-anon homes have been revolutionary. The mother instincts is eminent in the Boholana.  A mother cannot withstand the ordeal seeing her children suffering from hunger.

It is also notable that there are more male tambays than female.  Just an observation though but this might as well puts a question on everyone of us.

Congratulations to my brother , Marbert John T. Cardino, M.D. for his final graduation on his sub-specialty in Endocrinology at the Philippine General Hospital.  His first specialization is Internal Medicine which he  finished during his residency at the Cebu Velez General Hospital.  He finished his degree in Medicine at the Cebu Institute of Medicine in 2002. On the same year, he placed fourth during the medical board exams conducted by  the Philippine Regulatory Commisions. He graduated Magna Cum Laude on the degree Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology in 1998 at the CEbu Velez College.  As a consistent scholar,he graduated Valedictorian in both elementary and highschool at the Holy Name University (formerly Divine Word College). As a medical researcher, he was invited to present his researches in diabetics in Italy, Brazil and in Malaysia.

Above all these, he chose to serve in our beloved Bohol. Keep it up. We are very proud of you

oh thats no problem shine. we usually speak english here. and besides if some people speaks the bol-anon dialect, you would understand because it is not 100 percent binol-anon.  Most of the time, it is mixed with english, and then you would understand through contextual clues.

We do not condone the culture of dependence.  people are poor or even indigents  because of lack of opportunities or simply they are lazy.
