Valencia - Bohol / Re: Santo Niño of Valencia
June 25, 2013, 12:18:06 PM
HISTORICAL IMPORTANCE

In the beginning, Valencia was part of Dimiao. The establishment of the parish of Valencia came a year after Panangatan, Canmanico and Cutcutan, all eastern barrios of the old town of Dimiao were constituted into a separate and independent town named Valencia on October 27, 1869. The Senor Santo Nino was officially installed as patron of Valencia, Bohol by virtue of letter number 877 of the Ministry of the Overseas Territories in Madrid, Spain dated September 3, 1870.

Truly, it is important to swallow one's pride. It's not good to take things too personally. Today, I learned the important lesson of not taking things to personally. Fakk pride. Fakk it, really. I'm not going to allow myself to feel bad because ma sakit ahoang pride. That's one thing i need , that i want to really change.

Blessed Mother Mary, pray for me, and lead me towards a position in which i will not let my pride affect my decisions in life and position in life. Mother of Perpetual Help, help me in this. I ask this in the name of your son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

it looks like you've succeeded, lorenz, just by the fact that you prayed for it.  hello, young man!  you're smiling now?

I came in to my shift at 9:18 am, and already there were 5 nurses and 1 M.D who was in the office looking at paper work that was done last week. I was called in to talk to the d.o.n and the program director because I was one of 3 people on call that day ang gi blame-an ko , even tho i was not responsible for that particular patient. Arang ning taas ahoang dugo, and i did not like the back talking of some nurses and some office people there. After i left the office of the program director and having words with the d.o.n, i was so irritated that i was about to confront the people who were blaming me and my other colleague. I really was about to loose my cool. Hapit gajod. Ning kalma lang ko, i prayed 1 our father , 1 hail mary, and asked for the strength to swallow my pride, and to accept correction even tho i knew i was not at fault, even tho i knew it was someone else who failed to fill patient information. whatever na lang.

later that day, i talked to the head of human resources, who is a pinoy and an ex-priest. haha. he talked to me about the significance of coordination with staff, and even tho dili nako ang fault, to not take things personally. cebuano ni siya, si leo, so he made jokes to make me laugh, na wala ra pod ahoang na sukooan. after talking to him, i logged on to tb, and prayed as i typed it. na wala ra sad.

as i finished my rounds tonight, there was one old patient who called to me, she touched my arms, smiled at me, and said, "thank you, doctor. thank you." i said to her, "why are you thanking me?" and the patient said, "thank you for being here." i looked at her, smiled, and touched her hand before walking out.

its the small things like that...that makes it all worth while.
for the love of the patients.

Blessed Mother Mary....pray for us. 8)

Today morning was an example of a "fakking hardcore Monday". :o

I got so pissed at some incompetent staff workers. I almost lost my cool. Lord, may my anger be restrained, and let me not usher angry words today. Divine Heart of Jesus, please forgive me for allowing work stress to affect me and to clash with some staff members. Forgive me for my anger.

Assurance of God’s Protection â€" Psalm 91

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence.

He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.

A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.

You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.

If you make the Most High your dwellingâ€" even the LORD, who is my refuge-then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.

For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

“Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

Amen

Another famous Catholic hymnal is Be Thou My Vision:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CMclLT_Hjg&feature=player_detailpage

Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

The Investiture of the Knight by His Eucharistic King

Thus sayeth the Knight: “I salute Thee, my noble Kingâ€"to Thy Cause may I be true, and ever be loyal to my Queen, Thy Immaculate Mother in blue. Hail to thee, O Maidenâ€"thou art my armor, fair Mary; with thee as my Protectress, of the fight I will never weary.”

Thus sayeth the Lord: “Come forward, My noble Knight, it is thy King Who beckons, arise with youthful ardor and learn well thy fortifying lessons. It is My desire to arm thee and to clothe thee Myself, in the suit of steadfast armor, which is every Knight’s wealth.

Holy Purity is thy Breastplate and thy Helmet is Faith. In the blood of martyrdom, may your soul be bathed.

I entrust to thee the Sword of Zeal for the salvation of all, For the triumph of My Kingdom, this weapon thou will draw. With thy sharp Sword, prisoners will be freed and ransoms paid. Fight fiercely, dear Knight, for there are souls to be saved.

Continual Prayer is thy Shield, thy guard, thy strength. In every battle use thy Shield well, and thou shall escape unscathed.

Thy Gauntlet is Courage, emblazoned with the finest gold. Go forward into battle, O Knight, fear not to be bold.

Thy trusty Steed is Perseverance, carrying thee to lands that are free, abandoning thee not in battle and leading the army to victory.

For God and the Church!”

It is the mission of the Knights to spread authentic devotion to Christ really, truly and substantially present in the Eucharist. They should encourage the Christian faithful to participate in Eucharistic adoration, which by its very nature will increase reverence. All efforts should be made through whatever means are available to promote faith in the Real Presence of our Eucharistic King.

The Knights were founded by Mother Mary Angelica of the Annunciation, P.C.P.A., on July 25, 1998, feast day of St. James. The spirit of St. Francis, the “Knight-Errant of Assisi,” became a role model for the new Knights; this spirit was demonstrated by St. Francis’ deep sense of faith, fiery enthusiasm for Christ, and readiness to battle for His kingdom on earth. The Knights of the Holy Eucharist are single Catholic men seeking to follow Christ more closely through a life lived in community and dedicated to the service of God. The primary focus of this service is the fostering of reverent devotion to Our Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament. Blessed John Paul II states that the Church “draws her life from the Eucharist”.

Most merciful God,
Father in heaven,
relying on Thy goodness and mercy,
I come to Thee with filial confidence
to confess my sins and to implore Thy forgiveness.
Thou wilt not despise a contrite and humble heart.
Bless me and receive me again into Thy favour;
I acknowledge that I have been most ungrateful to Thee,
but I sincerely repent and detest the wrong I have done,
and I desire henceforth to walk in the way of perfection
in accordance with Thy holy will.

O Jesus, my Saviour, my good Shepherd,
I have strayed far from the path
that Thou hast marked out for me;
I did not follow in Thy footsteps;
I wandered into forbidden places.
Repentant and sorrowful,
I beg to be admitted again into the fold of Thy faithful
followers.
I want to confess my sins with the same sincerity
as I should wish to do at the moment of my death.
My Jesus, I look to Thee with confidence
for the grace to examine my conscience well.

O Holy Spirit come in Thy mercy;
enlighten my mind and strengthen my will
that I may know my sins,
humbly confess them,
and sincerely amend my life.

Mary, my Mother,
immaculate Spouse of the Holy Ghost,
refuge of sinners,
ssist me by thy intercession.

Holy angels and saints of God,
pray for me.

Amen.

Today, I am in contemplation and prayerful thoughts of my Tito Bartholomew, who was a long time friend of my family. He was good friends and classmate of my uncle, Alex, during his childhood days in Valencia. I will remember his wonderful, beaming smile, his laughter and overall bright and goodness that he exuded to those around him. He was a good man, a God-fearing man. I can't help but cry.

May God have mercy on him, and most of all, may God grant strength and comforting care to his family, most especially his wife, and his children and grand children.

Friends, please pray for the repose of his soul.

From my heart,

My God! I recommend to Thee the soul of Bartholomew Salise Namocatcat.
I recommend to Thee the souls of those
who were most devout to the passion of Our Lord,
to the Blessed Sacrament,
to the Blessed Virgin Mary,
the souls who are most abandoned,
those who suffer most,
and those who are nearest to the entrance into paradise.

We Implore the Blessed Mother Mary, all the Angels and Saints
to pray for the soul of Bartholomew Salise Namocatcat.
May the Blessed Divine Santo Nino, the Word Incarnate, have mercy.
Grant Bartholomew Salise Namocatcat entrance into your Kingdom in Heaven,
where he will sing your praises as he did in life.

We ask this and pray in the same Christ Jesus, Our Lord.

Amen.

Doing laundry, cleaning up my apartment, and then going to read a chapter on neurobehaviorism theories, then make adobo. Today is a calm and relaxing day.

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart.

Some people shouldn't have kids or procreate if they are only going to do such things. It is an affront to the Lord! What a disgusting individual to have this done to her own child. Disgusting.

Diabetes Mellitus Type II is associated with the following:

1. Peripheral neuropathy
2. Renal Failure
3. Congestive Heart Failure
4. Hypertension
6. Hyperlipidemia

This is a lethal disease; in fact, it is better to prevent it than to have it manifest and try to treat it...

oki Doc ^__^ thanks :)

If your glucose level is over 110, sensitibo na na for pre-diabetes, Jenneth. If you are tested and your glucose levels are above 100, i would endorse you to take Metformin as prophylaxis. Do see your GP and don't evade this issue of diabetes kai it is better to prevent this before it becomes diabetes.

There are many nefarious issues regarding the cardiovascular, renal, and circulatory systems when it comes to diabetes. So, please do not back log this.
