The Golden Pharaohic Empire {Egyptian Super State}

A map of the Empire under the rule of Pharaoh Ramses II the Great
It was under this time that Egypt expanded in every direction, smashing the Hittites, Saracens,
Naharima, Kush, Nubia and even Israel. In this period, Israel's Hebrew people were forced to slavery
under the command of the perceived Egyptian God-King, Ramses I. It was Ramses I who declared that every male Hebrew child will be killed, as a means to limit Hebrew slaves (this was the time when Moses was spared from death by God). After life left the body of Ramses I, his son, Ramses II the Great expanded Egypt's power and it was known in the ancient world as "The Mighty Lion of Egypt". No nation or empire dared resist her.

It was during this time, that Moses came back from hiding and brought back the word of God,
It was during this time that Moses unleashed the plagues of God on Egypt
And brought the "Mighty Lion of Egypt" to her knees

After the rule of Pharaoh, Egypt weakened, civil wars erupted, and the empire became a shell of its former self.
Greater powers took advantage of her; Babylon, Assyria, Persia, Rome, etc.

Good to hear that the Chinese government is placing limits on their industrial bases.

The west's pleas for conformity has worked. Let us hope India, another major player, follows suit.

The following is taken from : http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/05709a.htm (catholic online encyclopedia)

Exorcism

Exorcism is (1) the act of driving out, or warding off, demons, or evil spirits, from persons, places, or things, which are believed to be possessed or infested by them, or are liable to become victims or instruments of their malice; (2) the means employed for this purpose, especially the solemn and authoritative adjuration of the demon, in the name of God, or any of the higher power in which he is subject.

The word, which is not itself biblical, is derived from exorkizo, which is used in the Septuagint (Genesis 24:3 = cause to swear; III(I) Kings 22:16 = adjure), and in Matthew 26:63, by the high priest to Christ, "I adjure thee by the living God. . ." The non-intensive horkizo and the noun exorkistes (exorcist) occur in Acts 19:13, where the latter (in the plural) is applied to certain strolling Jews who professed to be able to cast out demons. Expulsion by adjuration is, therefore, the primary meaning of exorcism, and when, as in Christian usage, this adjuration is in the name of God or of Christ, exorcism is a strictly religious act or rite. But in ethnic religions, and even among the Jews from the time when there is evidence of its being vogue, exorcism as an act of religion is largely replaced by the use of mere magical and superstitious means, to which non-Catholic writers at the present day sometimes quite unfairly assimilate Christian exorcism. Superstition ought not to be confounded with religion, however much their history may be interwoven, nor magic, however white it may be, with a legitimate religious rite.

Ecclesiastical Exorcisms:

(1) Exorcism of the possessed

We have it on the authority of all early writers who refer to the subject at all that in the first centuries not only the clergy, but lay Christians also were able by the power of Christ to deliver demoniacs or energumens, and their success was appealed to by the early Apologists as a strong argument for the Divinity of the Christian religion (Justin Martyr, Apol., 6; P.G., VI, 453; Dial., 30, 85; ibid., 537, 676 sq; Minutius Felix, Octav., 27, P.L., III; Origen, Contra Celsum., I, 25; VII, 4, 67; P.G., XI, 705, 1425, 1516; Tertullian, Apol., 22, 23; P.L., I, 404 sq; etc). As is clear from testimonies referred to, no magical or superstitious means were employed, but in those early centuries, as in later times, a simple and authoritative adjuration addressed to the demon in the name of God, and more especially in the name of Christ crucified, was the usual form of exorcism.

But sometimes in addition to words some symbolic action was employed, such as breathing (insufflatio), or laying of hands on the subject, or making the sign of cross. St. Justin speaks of demons flying from "the touch and breathing of Christians" (II Apol., 6) as from a flame that burns them, adds St. Cyril of Jerusalem (Cat., xx, 3, P.G., XXXIII, 1080). Origen mentions the laying of hands, and St. Ambrose (Paulinus, Vit. Ambr., n. 28, 43, P.L, XIV, 36, 42), St. Ephraem Syrus (Greg. Nyss., De Vit. Ephr., P.G., XLVI, 848) and others used this ceremony in exorcising. The sign of the cross, that briefest and simplest way of expressing one's faith in the Crucified and invoking His Divine power, is extolled by many Fathers for its efficacy against all kinds of demoniac molestation (Lactantius, Inst., IV, 27, P.L., VI, 531 sq.; Athanasius, De Incarn. Verbi., n. 47, P.G., XXV, 180; Basil, In Isai., XI, 249, P.G., XXX, 557, Cyril of Jerusalem, Cat., XIII, 3 col. 773; Gregory Nazianzen, Carm. Adv. iram, v, 415 sq.; P.G., XXXVII, 842). The Fathers further recommend that the adjuration and accompanying prayers should be couched in the words of Holy Writ (Cyril of Jerusalem, Procat., n. 9, Col. 350; Athanasius, Ad Marcell., n. 33, P.G., XXVII, 45). The present rite of exorcism as given in the Roman Ritual fully agrees with patristic teaching and is a proof of the continuity of Catholic tradition in this matter.

(2) Baptismal exorcism

At an early age the practice was introduced into the Church of exorcising catechumens as a preparation for the Sacrament of Baptism. This did not imply that they were considered to be obsessed, like demoniacs, but merely that they were, in consequence of original sin (and of personal sins in case of adults), subject more or less to the power of the devil, whose "works" or "pomps" they were called upon to renounce, and from whose dominion the grace of baptism was about to deliver them.

Exorcism in this connection is a symbolical anticipation of one of the chief effects of the sacrament of regeneration; and since it was used in the case of children who had no personal sins, St. Augustine could appeal to it against the Pelagians as implying clearly the doctrine of original sin (Ep. cxciv, n. 46. P.L., XXXIII, 890; C. Jul. III, 8; P.L., XXXIV, 705, and elsewhere). St. Cyril of Jerusalem (Procat., 14, col. 355) gives a detailed description of baptismal exorcism, from which it appears that anointing with exorcised oil formed a part of this exorcism in the East. The only early Western witness which treats unction as part of the baptismal exorcism is that of the Arabic Canons of Hippolytus (n. 19, 29). The Exsufflatio, or out-breathing of the demon by the candidate, which was sometimes part of the ceremony, symbolized the renunciation of his works and pomps, while the Insufflatio, or in-breathing of the Holy Ghost, by ministers and assistants, symbolised the infusion of sanctifying grace by the sacrament. Most of these ancient ceremonies have been retained by the Church to this day in her rite for solemn baptism.

(3) Other Exorcisms

According to Catholic belief demons or fallen angels retain their natural power, as intelligent beings, of acting on the material universe, and using material objects and directing material forces for their own wicked ends; and this power, which is in itself limited, and is subject, of course, to the control of Divine providence, is believed to have been allowed a wider scope for its activity in the consequence of the sin of mankind. Hence places and things as well as persons are naturally liable to diabolical infestation, within limits permitted by God, and exorcism in regard to them is nothing more that a prayer to God, in the name of His Church, to restrain this diabolical power supernaturally, and a profession of faith in His willingness to do so on behalf of His servants on earth.

The chief things formally exorcised in blessing are water, salt, oil, and these in turn are used in personal exorcisms, and in blessing or consecrating places (e.g. churches) and objects (e.g. altars, sacred vessels, church bells) connected with public worship, or intended for private devotion. Holy water, the sacramental with which the ordinary faithful are most familiar, is a mixture of exorcised water and exorcised salt; and in the prayer of blessing, God is besought to endow these material elements with a supernatural power of protecting those who use them with faith against all the attacks of the devil. This kind of indirect exorcism by means of exorcised objects is an extension of the original idea; but it introduces no new principle, and it has been used in the Church from the earliest ages.

A far cry from sorcerers, satanists and other practitioners whom he dismisses as "charlatans," Italian exorcist Andrea Gemma fights the devil only with the strength of his prayers and advises Catholics: 'Don't do this at home".

A rotund, expansive Neapolitan, the 74-year-old bishop was the first lecturer to face the Catholic Church's latest crop of budding exorcists at a unique course run by clergy at Rome's Pontifical Regina Apostolorum University. The course began Thursday and will run for several weeks.

Faced with a classroom of 50 priests intent on learning how best to take on the devil, the veteran Gemma profiles his ideal comrade at arms, spiritually-speaking: "Live a holy life, work hard and be devoted to the Madonna".

The students at this second course -- the first course of its kind drew more than 100 priests last year -- include lay Catholics.

"If you reject God you leave a place for his enemy. Neutrality is not an option," the priest who heads the course, Father Gabriele Nanni of the ultra-conservative congregation Legionaires of Christ, tells them.

"And in our societies given over to neo-paganism, agnosticism, to a revolt against God, it was inevitable that the demon would find more space to act," he said.

Father Gemma is also convinced. In his small southern Italian diocese of Isernia, which has a population of 60,000 souls, he has nominated four exorcist priests -- well above the Italian average, where priests authorised to carry out exorcisms number in the several hundreds.

But he criticised the Italian bishops' council for being insufficiently committed to hunting down demons, though he said he was encouraged by Pope Benedict XVI's recent public support for priests tasked with such missions.

The pope had a brief exchange with a few of the priests attending a congress of Italian exorcists after one of his weekly general audiences last month, telling them to "continue your important mission in the service of the Church."

The prelate, whose titanic struggles against the devil fills several of his books, recognizes that not all the cases referred to him require exorcism.

Some are "poor people who need someone to listen to them," he said. "But those priests who send them away without listening to them patiently are not fit for the priesthood."

When someone is really possessed by the devil, he said, "freeing them of it can take months, if not years."

But the bishop is certain of one thing: "The devil is not the God of evil, God is stronger."

Asked about his method of discerning real cases of possession from other psychological illnesses, the priest revealed his "secret weapon":

"If I speak Latin, the demon responds to me in Latin. He has a horror of that language."

I do believe in these things tho, its not something i take lightly kai my local pastor has dealt with these 'exorcisms' in the past.

Catholic priests that engage in exorcisms are trained in Rome in not only scripture, but in demonology and casting out demons. Talking about this right now sends chill down my spine and give me goosebumps.

Ah okay, Ate Ging.

Ang role sa atong thyroid is for the synthesizing of the enzyme thyroxin; additionally, the thyroid is also known as the thermostat of the body, as it regulates the metabolic rate of the body. There are two kinds of thyroid diseases, hyperactive thyroid and hypoactive thyroid disease.

Hyperactive is when the thyroid is over-regulating and producing too much thyroxin; hypoactive is when it has been reduced in activity; both of these disease are caused by autoimmune diseases. Immunity in general is being assaulted by toxic chemicals in food, water, and air. Under-active or hypothyroid conditions can cause low energy. An effect of this is  cholesterol can shoot up to dangerous levels.

Effects of Bisphenol A on Thyroid Hormones (T3) of the South African Clawed Frog, Xenopus laevis during Metamorphosis

By: M.F. Enos
Major: Molecular Biology

Endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDC) leach into water supplies and can potentially disrupt triiodothyronine (T3) levels. The south African clawed frog, Xenopus laevis, is commonly used in testing thyroid hormones and EDCs, due to a T3 mediated metamorphosis. Bisphenol A, an EDC, is known to affect estrogen levels and to have feminizing effects on male organism; it is also structurally similar to T3 and tetraiodothyronine (T4). Bisphenol A (BPA) was administered to the water for 32 days to determine if inhibition of metamorphosis occurred with a corresponding decrease of T3 levels, which were quantified with a Human T3 ELISA. BPA concentrations were tested at 2ug/L, 200ug/L and 2000ug/L, with controls of EtOH, T4 (1ug/L) and Propylthiouracil (PTU) (75mg/L).

All bisphenol A treated animals metamorphosed faster than any of the controls. T3 levels were significantly lowered in BPA treatments of 2ug/L and 2000ug/L compared to EtOH. A significant decrease in T3 levels is also observed between the negative control T4, the positive control PTU when compared to EtOH. Bisphenol A, even in very minute doses, is capable of altering T3 concentrations, thyroid function, and increasing the rate of metamorphosis.

A Comparison of Immune System Function of Rats Exposed to Green Building Materials and Traditional Building Materials

By: D.M. Cass
Major: Biology

Americans spend 89 percent of their time indoors, which makes indoor environment quality a key issue of concern for human health. The green building movement addresses the issue through certification programs for building materials that are free of chemical off-gassing. In this study a comparison was performed on the levels of Interleukin 6(IL-6) in Sprague Dawley rats exposed to "green" building materials and "traditional" building materials. IL-6 is a cytokine in the immune system whose levels are indicative of immune system health. Twenty four juvenile male and female rates were reared in cages containing either "green", "traditional", or no additional building materials form 3 weeks of age to 12 weeks of age. Body mass data and serum samples were taken four times at three week intervals. At 12 weeks the animals were sacrificed and wet masses were taken of their spleen, gonads, and thyroid glands. The serum samples were analyzed using an IL-6 Immunoassay Kit. IL-6 levels were quantified and analyzed as well as body and organ mass data. Levels of IL-6 for the "traditional" building group decreased far more drastically in the first three weeks when compared to the "green" and "control" groups, and that the total decrease in IL-6 for the "traditional" group was much larger than the other two groups. These results suggest that traditional building materials suppressed the immune system while green materials did not.

The Potential Antimicrobial Activity of Garlic to Inhibit Bacillus cereus, Campylobacter jejuni, Escheria coli DH5-alpha, and Salmonella enterica LT2

By:  Ash. Felker
Major: Biology

The Purpose of this investigation was to determine the antimicrobial ability of differently soluble components of fresh garlic gloves against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative borne pathogens. fresh cloves were peeled, rinsed with sterile water, homogenized and fractionized into three parts (oil, water and solid). The oil fraction was tested at concentrations ranging from 0.01mg/ml-0.4mg/ml, and the solid and water fractions were tested at concentrations ranging from 0.15mg/ml-0.60mg/ml. The bacteria tested include Bacillus cereus, Escherichia coli 5 alpha, Salmonella enterica LT2, and Campylobacter jejuni. Bacteria were tested by disk diffusion assays and minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC)/ minimum lethal concentration (MLC) testing. Disk diffusion assay produced both zones of complete inhibition and zones of incomplete inhibition for each bacterium tested.

MIC's were determined for all bacteria and ranged form 0.05mg/ml for B. cereus and S. enterica oil fractions, to 0.22mg/ml for B. cereus solid fractions. MLC's were found for B. cereus with the oil fractions, S. enterica and E. coli with the water fraction, 0.35mg/ml, 0.20mg/ml respectively. The primary known mode of inhibition by garlic is largely due to its principal active component, allicin, and its ability to alter sulfhydryl groups. Sensitivity to garlic is known to differ for both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. It was found that the solid fraction was the most efficient antimicrobial inhibitor for B. cereus, E. coli and S. enterica in the disk diffusion assay testing. The oil fraction inhibited all three bacteria at the lowest concentrations, but was only lethal to B. cereus. The only other fraction that produced a lethal effect was the water fraction against both E. coli and S. enterica.

The Roman Empire is probably the most pivotal and most influential empire in the history of man kind.
Rome practically civilized Europe and spread forth its civilization to all corners of its empire, hispania, gaul-france, germania, dacia, byzantium, arabia, palestinia, algeria etc. Western Europe's culture derives back to Roman culture (Roman Republicanism, roman jurisprudence, roman dogmatism, roman logics, roman questionability, roman ethics).

Christianity itself spread all over Europe and then to the corners of the world because of Rome.
Under the rule of Emperor Constantine I, the Emperor was about to fight a war with barbarians and saw a cross of Jesus in the sky. He won the battle  and he credited the Roman victory to the cross, or divine intervention. He was the first Emperor of the Roman Empire to be baptized to the Catholic faith and with that he proclaimed Catholicism-Christianity to be the state religion of the Empire. He outlawed pagan worship and his Imperial decree reverberated throughout all the 4 corners of the empire. That is why Europe is Christian (predominantly Roman Catholic). And from Catholicism, sprang forth other christian denominations (baptism, Presbyterianism, calvanism, methodist, lutheran, etc). However none of that would have occurred had it not been for Rome who endorsed Christianity and proclaimed it the state religion of the entire Roman Empire.

Even after the fall of the Roman Empire, Rome's cultural influence was eternalized. The feudal states of Europe and even the empires of Byzantium, Holy Roman Empire, France, Spain, England, Italian Principalities etc all endorsed Catholic-Christianity or Christianity in general.

And when these said nations developed into powerful states during the Age of European Imperialism, it was they that spread Christian faith throughout their overseas empire.

For Example:

1. German Empire spread catholicism and lutheranism in its empire in the Marianas and in Africa

2. The Spanish Empire spread Roman Catholicism in North, Central and Southern America as well as in Guam and the Philippines

3. Portugal spread catholicism in southern India, Sri Lanka and parts of present day Indonesia

4. Great Britain spread forth Calvinism, Presbyterianism, and puritanism in the American colonies and Canada, which then eventually evolved to Baptism, Methodist, Unitarian Universalists, United Churches of Christ etc etc.

Their influence to the world, in terms of religion, jurisprudence, law, ethics, universality all stems back to The Roman Empire.

Yes, Ate Belle, that was a major battle actually. Americans won minor battles because of the colonial militia's understanding of the local terrain; and employed hit-and-run guerrilla tactics against British troops. Also, American soldiers and American woodsmen did not abide by the 'code of conduct' of war during the 18th century. As it was common in Europe to march armies in a field of battle and allow a volley fire where one side fires, then the other fires back until one side buckles etc.

Initially during the first years of the Revolutionary War, American colonial troops and state militias met the British troops in the field and exchanged volley fire; however the American forces were too unorganized and had little military discipline; usually disbanding and routing in mass.  The key to British success in these full frontal assaults were its officers, which directed the infantry where to shoot, charge, take control etc.

So the American colonial forces changed its 'tactic' and defied the arbitrary rules of engagement. They started targeting and killing British officers, which led to disorganization of British infantry, and without officers to command soldiers or give directions, would route. Additionally, American woodsmen and colonial marines utilized hit-and-run tactics; guerrilla warfare. This style of engagement was alien to the British Army, which was used to fighting a full frontal assault strategy. Additionally, Americans took advantage of the woods and forests. They knew that the British had an upper hand in open field due to 1) British superiority in artillery, 2) superiority in organized volley troops, 3) superiority in cavalry. The British dragoon calvary was a perfect example of tactical brilliance, which could flank an enemy's position. However, cavalry is weak in woody terrain, and thus the Americans took advantage of the environment to their favor.

Britain was fighting an attrition war; and it was clear that all 13 colonies (which numbered at some 18+million by 1776) were against British rule. By the mid 18th century, American colonists were already identifying themselves as 'American' and not as 'British'.

Revolution was invetible. When a colony becomes more populous and more industrious than the colonizer, that is usually a sign of impending secession.

The British Empire only ruled over what was eastern half of the United States. The 13 colonies and the Indian territories. Britain never intended to expand its American Empire past the Mississippi. Britain realized that its resources were limited and it would have bankrupted the Royal British Treasury to protect all the American colonists from Indian raids, and to assist American colonists etc.

However, the American colonists, despite being chided by the British soldiers and the Governors to remain within the territory of British rule, they did not listen. American colonists were aggressive people, expanding far beyond west and outside British spheres, even provoking the French in 1763 during the French and Indian War.

That is why Britain taxed the American colonists heavily; the taxes were used to pay for the military supplies and military units used to protect the American 13 colonies and keep the peace. Americans rebelled against the British because we were denied our 'Manifest Destiny' to expand west.

Mr. Ferniz,

Amen! I just find it very rude how they call our fellow Bol-anons 'eye sore' just because they are poor. Sorry na lang if I step on some toes pero that is very unprofessional and very unethical kai one cannot blame those who are selling things sa port kai of course naa gud tourists diba? Natural ra pood mo anha ang tawo dinha to sell goods, to get people to buy goods. Last time, Mr. Ferniz, when i went back to Bohol in '98, when i got out of the boat with my family there was an old lady who asked us to buy some crackers, pinirito etc. It was one of those bags of cookies pero she was selling it for like 8-10 pesos, what is 8-10 pesos to foreigners? Like 10-20 cents? Gamay ra na pero for them dako na na kaayo. I remember buying 4 packages from that lady. And they are not very rude baya, she thanked us for buying. Ako, if i see poor people, ma luuy man jud ko immediately. I don't know but i can't help it.

Rude kaayo for those who are in power or are priviledge to just walk over those who are struggling.
Di ba sila ma sakit? Di ba sila mo hilak ug i sumbagon? Di ba sila mo kao-on ug na gutom, di ba sila mo singit ug na sakit-an?

Poor or not, they are still human beings. Luuy lang pood sila uy.

Actually, one of my research colleagues in the neuroscience department is doing the same thing, only she is doing this on the Rattus norvegicus (norwegian rat). Its actually interesting what they do, they damage the cornea of said number of rats and in different trials, place a rat teeth in place of the cornea and record neuritic in growth, also having a control group in hand.

There have been negative results, but positive results have been manifested in testing the specimen's ability to react to light, darkness. There is a positive indication of increased occular-motion to specimens with the said surgery implant than the rats in other trials with no implant, but just a damaged cornea.

That brings up another memory; my mother's brother is an Engineer in UAE and they even denied to pay him one month, instead they paid him after 3 months of work (to the detriment of his family who needed the money). Its very bastardizing how the employers there treat our professionals. They treat Engineers as if they are common uneducated workers!
They need to know that our Pinoy engineers went through 5 years of schooling for this!
Many of them even were top-knotchers! You have extremely educated Filipino engineers being maltreated by uneducated Saudi commoners in the streets. And they think that they are higher than the Filipino just because they are Arab! Really makes me angry.

That really pisses me of. They have no respect at all.

'te he was in Saudi from 1981 till 1991.
He was the Supervising Engineer, pero when my mom got accepted to work in the 'states, my Dad immediately resigned from his position (against the reaction of his Saudi employers) and left with mom, and us to the 'states. In fact, he didn't even tell his colleagues and Saudi manager because they would have prevented him from going back to the Philippines (he was contracted then). He had to leave secretly.

Luuy lang pood si Dad.

Its defined as "Implanted Corneal Lens"

:a plastic lens cemented into a section of decalcified tooth that is then stitched into an opening cut in a totally opaque cornea to restore vision. The lens may be implanted after normal corneal grafting has failed.

This is actually a very new procedure, medically speaking, and there have been modifications altered to increase periphery visions. ‘te this is rather ‘new and uncharted territory, so to say.

What they try to do is determine whether key properties of extracelluar matrix macromolecules can be replicated within tissue-engineered biosynthetic matrices to influence celluar properties and behavior. This does work because the hydrated collagen and N-isopropylacrylamide copolymer-based ECM are fabricated; the structural and immunological simplicity of the cornea and the importance of the extensive innervention allows this symbiosis to occur. The teeth has such capabilities. What happens is that  they graft the laminin adhesion pentapeptide motif, YIGSR and this actually promotes epithelial stratification and neurite in-growth. It actually regenerates the corneal epithelium, stroma, and the nerves. In particular, functional nerves will regenerate in implants. As we know there are mulitple nerves within the facio-skeletal structure. Hypothetically speaking 'te, they can even use this to stimulate neuritic-in growth in other nervous regions. The problem is making it small enough to allow regrowth of small nerves in the cranial super structure or the regrowth in broken spinal column without harming the spinal nerves (which if done could kill the person). But hypothetically they can even harness this and allow nervitic re-growth of spinal nerves.

Technology will have to develop to allow the procedure to introduce such laminin micromolecularly.
And to do this, science and researchers need to test this on animal models before they can even proceed with human models. Then it will take more years to pass a medical board, a review board, etc etc.

Its possible. The problem is the method in completing it. Technology is still a lingering problem. :P

Its weird, how such a simple tooth can allow this. But its explained biochemically.

‘te, the way God designed us is IMPECCABLE.
That’s all I can say.

Mao jud ni Sheila what they say, "Those who have power will use it to take advantage of the weak."

Luuy kaayo ang atong kababayan sa middle east and abroad that are being harassed; they take it, and they take it again, kai their goal is to help their family (a sick mother, father, send children, brothers, sisters, to school, assist etc). Very noble lang ang Pilipino, luuy kaayo. Pero you know what? Ang Pinoy that can do their job despite the consequences are filled with Grace.  Because they care for their family and their loves ones--they would even sacrifice their own personal reputation and honor. Mo swallow lang sila sa ilang pride for the sake of the pamilya.

And I commend and pray for the Pinoys and Pinays that go thorugh this. Kai ang Ginoo, dili man jud na siya mo tulug. Awake man jud na siya, and every transgression on the innocent and the weak is witnessed  recognized. Blessed are the poor and meek for they shall inherit the Kingdom of God.

Sheila,

I have very little respect for the Saudi government.
From the stories that I've heard personally from my father, who worked in Saudi years ago as a Civil Engineer. The Saudi government and the people treat our Filipino kababayans like trash that can be disposed of. Yet they do not give grattitude for the thousands of Filipino engineers, construction workers, medical workers, financiers, and domestic workers that build their highways, their bridges, their buildings, take care of their children, care for the loved ones, heal their sick, manage their finances, run their banks etc.

My father told me one incident where  one of his Filipino construction workers was charged for stealing, my father was a site supervisor at the time in Riyadh, and despite the plea of the Filipino consulate and the Filipino workers, the charged individual recieved an unjust punishment.  The Filipino, who was a catholic christian, was tried in an Islamic Shariyah court and administered justice according to the Islamic Quran, which the defendent did not recognize as he was a Roman Catholic. Nonetheless, despite being a non-muslim, he recieved the punishment of the severing of his right hand for 'committing the crime of stealing from a Saudi citizen'.

One particular anecdote that boiled me was when my dad told me when he first went to Saudi in 1981 (he was 23 years old at the time), he and his collegues were harrassed by the Saudis because of their hairless face. They were forced to grow a beard else be persecuted. And my father was asked and harassed many times to covert to Islam. They would say to him, 'Brando, become a muslim, muhammad is the prophet of god and there is no god but allah'. Despite multiple times of trying to convert my father, who did not by the way (conservative Catholic man na siya then and to this day as well).

Saudi Arabia is a powder keg.

Completely unstable, and its brutal violations of human rights is only accepted and 'ignored' because of its hold on oil supplies, particularly the United States.
