in other developments, i just learned that diocese of tagbilaran and its bishop were one of the thousands of depositors who had multi million deposits at PRB tagbilaran.

saktong kantahon nimo sab-sad kay kani ay. fit kaayo ni sa imong kaagi sa gugma ron.

Through the fire

I look in your eyes and I can see
Weve loved so dangerously
Youre not trusting your heart to anyone
You tell me youre gonna play it smart
Were through before we start
But I believe that weve only just begun

When its this good, theres no saying no
I want you so, Im ready to go

Chorus:
Through the fire
To the limit, to the wall
For a chance to be with you
Id gladly risk it all
Through the fire
Through whatever, come what may
For a chance at loving you
Id take it all the way
Right down to the wire
Even through the fire

I know youre afraid of what you feel
You still need time to heal
And I can help if youll only let me try
You touch me and something in me knew
What I could have with you
Well Im not ready to kiss that dream goodbye

When its this sweet, theres no saying no
I need you so, Im ready to go

Wash. teen charged with drowning newborn in toilet

PORT ANGELES, Wash. â€" A 16-year-old girl suspected of drowning an infant boy in a toilet and throwing the body in the trash was charged with murder Wednesday.

Lauryn Louise Last, of Port Angeles, was charged as an adult with first-degree murder in the death of the infant believed to be her son.

Last remained jailed in lieu of $500,000 bail with arraignment scheduled Friday. She faces up to life in prison if convicted.

Last's attorney, Suzanne Hayden of the Clallam County public defender's office, did not immediately return a phone call Wednesday.

The baby's body was found Monday by authorities combing 60 tons of trash at a dump site near Tacoma.

An affidavit filed that day said Last "put her baby face down into a toilet and allowed it to drown for several minutes until it died. Then she threw her son into the trash can outside in a plastic garbage bag."

Port Angeles police Chief Terry Gallagher had said that DNA testing to confirm the infant's parentage might not be available for a month or more.

Prosecutors said Last's father, Ronald Last Jr., 41, was charged Monday with possession of a firearm and possession of methamphetamine, both felonies, and with concealing a birth, a gross misdemeanor. He remained in the Clallam County jail.

Investigators in Port Angeles, about 65 miles northwest of Seattle, believe the baby boy died after being born to the girl on or about Dec. 31, and then was put in the trash.

grazie, missing in action si de los angeles sa mga meetings with BSP and PDIC and their investors. according to his attorney, he is no longer liable since he already divested his share from the corporation after winning as mayor in sto. domingo, albay. but if he's to appear in the senate hearing, then that's a welcome development. however, it's still good as dismissed since de los angeles is close friend of mike arroyo as a matter of fact, he's the right hand of noli de castro in the housing authority. i dunno if he's still holding that position since he's now a mayor. many people were wondering how he got that position before. in fact, it was also the time that legacy peaked right at the time gloria assumed power. according to a friend of mine who is a businessman and has lots of knowledge in the banking system, it's delos angeles who is handling and managing the assets of the arroyos. in short he's used as a personal banker of the arroyo's. had he not have power, legacy could have died as early as 2005 wherein most of the pyramiding schemes are subjected to investigations. what they did, was they shifted their sights to banking and used the legacy owned banks as their pawns. in fact, de los angeles bought several losing rural banks so that he can have more branches and banks to use to embezzle people's funds. legacy agents and employees are living like millionaires as they owned several properties like cars and house and lots.

dia pay laing case involving another boy. kani maoy kuyaw jud kay giplano jud sa bata daan ang pagpatay.

Boy's taped confession won't be used in Arizona

ST. JOHNS, Ariz. â€" In a dramatic police interview that gripped viewers nationwide, a 9-year-old boy sitting in an overstuffed chair told investigators that he shot his father and another man, then buried his head in his jacket and said, "I'm going to go to juvie."

But that videotaped interview likely won't be a part of the trial.

Defense lawyers had asked an Apache County judge to suppress any statements the boy made to police or while in custody, arguing the boy was illegally questioned without an attorney or family member present.

Prosecutors said unless the boy takes the stand in his own defense and contradicts the statements, they had no objections to the motion.

The hourlong interview was one of the first items released by prosecutors, and it wasn't long before the country learned about the shocking double homicide in the small eastern Arizona community of St. Johns.

Defense attorney, Benjamin Brewer, questioned the validity of the so-called confession early on and said detectives lied to the child in pursuit of incriminating statements. Prosecutors said although they agreed to suppress the statements, their decision doesn't mean they agree the statements were illegally obtained.

The boy is facing two counts of premeditated murder in the Nov. 5 deaths of his father, 29-year-old Vincent Romero, and his father's co-worker and housemate, 39-year-old Timothy Romans, at the family home. Police say the boy used a .22-caliber rifle to shoot the men as they returned home from work.

The boy, who turned 9 last week, told police that he had been spanked five times the night before the shootings because he didn't bring home some papers from school. While in custody, he told a state Child Protective Services worker that his 1,000th spanking would be his last, according to police reports.

Prosecutors say the child was not prompted to make the statement and agreed with defense attorneys that anything said to the CPS worker should be suppressed as well.

Along with the police interview, defense lawyers also want the judge to throw out any evidence gathered from the crime scene, including a weapon, spent cartridges, blood samples, photographs and forensic material. The attorneys claim the search warrant is invalid because the magistrate who signed it was a friend of the Romero family.

Prosecutors said merely knowing the victim does not alter the neutrality of the judge. If the court finds the magistrate did not act impartially, prosecutors said the evidence should still be allowed at trial because law enforcement acted properly in obtaining it.

Apache County Superior Court Judge Michael Roca has not ruled on either defense motion.

The boy, who is not being identified because of his age, was in court Tuesday for a status conference. Dressed in blue sweat pants and a matching sweat shirt, he frequently turned to family members and smiled. He was brought in cuffed at the legs, and his hair was partially blond, a change since his last appearance in court in November.

The next hearing in the case is scheduled for Jan. 21.

Ray, dili man kanunay naay aksidente sa tricycle and in fact, i think twice or thrice rako kakita ug aksidente involving tricycle.  But you are right, haska lang na sila siksik ug gakagubot ang kadalanan.

Another rural bank shuts doors

THE Rural Bank of Subangdaku (RBS) caught its depositors off guard when it shut down its operation yesterday morning.

This amid earlier assurance that the bank was “very stable” and that the acceptance by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) of its loan application indicated its undisturbed financial strength.

Like the Legacy affiliate rural banks, RBS also posted a notice on its rolling steel door that it is on bank holiday.

RBS, however, is not part of the Legacy group, whose seven affiliate banks have earlier been placed under the receivership of the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp. (PDIC). Four of these banks are in Cebu.

An angry Renerio, a depositor who did not give his family name, accused bank officials of serious betrayal of trust by making them believe it was financially stable.

“I have over P100,000 deposit anang bankoha. Pagka-bakakon ba ani nila…dako na hinoun kaayo kog perwisyo (They are liars),” he said.

Joseph Gaisano, one of the biggest investors in RBS, begged off from reacting to the angry comments of the depositors, saying that, like them, he and his group that invested in the bank also lost much.

He refused to confirm a report that RBS officials withdrew the bank’s loan application with the BSP, saying he does not know of any negotiation of the bank as he is not among its officers.

“I do not know anything. I was not involved in the negotiation. My group only invests,” he told Sun.Star Cebu in a phone interview.

Daniel Arcenas, president of the Cebu Rural Bankers’ Federation, said he hopes that RBS’ troubles represented “the last chapter” of the sector’s problems arising from the Legacy banks’ liquidity woes.

While RBS was not among the banks acquired by the Legacy group, reports about the Legacy banks going on a bank holiday and stopping the processing of clients’ transactions provoked a slew of withdrawals from RBS last year, Arcenas explained.

He added that around Christmas, however, all of the other rural banks in Cebu reported normal operations despite the scare, with clients returning their deposits.

Last Dec. 16, Arcenas assuaged the fears of RBS depositors following panic withdrawals in other banks saying RBS was “very stable” as indicated by the BSP’s acceptance of its loan application so it could answer demands from its clients.

Yesterday, however, Arcenas said RBS depositors should have been kept abreast of the situation when the bank began disallowing withdrawals on Dec. 16.

He also admitted that even before the Dec. 16 press conference attended by officials of the federation’s affiliate banks, RBS no longer communicated with them.

“That is the darkness of RBS. They did not even send a representative during that press conference,” he said. (AIV with reports from IDA)

Man murders 2 kids

CRISTOPH von Borstel would have celebrated his 10th birthday yesterday, instead he was found dead inside a room of an apartelle along Escario St. Cebu City, a yellow grocery plastic bag covering his head.

Beside Cristoph, who was born to a German father and a Cebuano mother, was his lifeless half-sister Christy May Tabal, 5, her head also covered with a plastic bag.

Responding policemen found the two kids lying face down at the top of the bed of Room 211 at the second floor of The Apartelle at 11 a.m. yesterday.

A few meters away, responding policemen found Felix Ortiz, 35, hanging from a blue nylon rope tied around his neck and secured to a beam of a wall that separated the living room from the bedroom.

Homicide Section Chief Investigator Jay Yballe said it is likely that Ortiz, a native of Surigao City, killed the children late Sunday evening or before dawn yesterday before killing himself.

The bodies of the children and Ortiz, Yballe said, have started to stiffen or were already in the state of rigor mortis, indicating that the killing was done hours before it was discovered.

Jealousy

Asked about Ortiz’s motive in taking the children’s lives with him, Yballe said, “It was a personal problem. Love and jealousy.”

Jobless but a graduate of a mechanical engineering course, Ortiz used to be the live-in partner of the children’s mother, Bernardita Tabal von Borstel, 38, and the father of Christy May.

Christoph was Bernar-dita’s son from her German husband, who had died.

When Bernardita, a native of Barangay Guba, Cebu City, became a widow and went back to Cebu, she met and had a relationship with Ortiz, their union producing Christy May.

Yballe said Bernardita told him what she thought was the reason for the killing but asked that it would not be further discussed with the media.

Her older brother Isabelo and her sister-in-law Dalia, in separate interviews, believe that Felix was worried that he no longer had a chance of getting Bernardita back.

“Nakadungog kong niingon akong igsuon nga pangita nala’g lain kay bata paka kita pa ka’g lain (I heard my sister tell him to look for other women),” Isabelo said.

Dalia said that when Bernardita arrived in Cebu, she was reportedly with a foreigner boyfriend.

Visit

Yballe said Bernardita and Christoph arrived in Cebu from Germany last Dec. 27.

Ortiz and Christy May, on the other hand, arrived from Surigao City last Dec. 31 and checked-in at the apartelle.

Christy May, a Kinder I pupil in Surigao City, was with his father’s care because Bernardita, being a German citizen, travels to and from Germany.

Yballe said Bernardita and Christoph visited Ortiz and Christy May last Sunday at the apartelle for the brother and sister to spend time together.

At around 7 p.m., Bernardita left the apartelle to visit her ailing mother in Guba, leaving Christoph behind.

When she went back to the apartelle at past 7 a.m. yesterday, she noticed that the door was locked and that nobody opened it for her.

Thinking that something was wrong inside, Bernardita immediately sought the assistance of the apartelle’s staff to open the room, Yballe said.

It was then that she discovered what happened to Ortiz and her two children.

Autopsy

A team of homicide investigators led by Yballe and personnel from the Scene of the Crime Operations (Soco) 7 led by Senior Insp. David Alexander Patriana did not find any sign of struggle or commotion inside the room.

Judging from the presence of the nylon rope, it is possible that Ortiz had planned the killing beforehand, Yballe said.

The bodies of the children and Ortiz were taken to Cebu Rolling Hills for autopsy to determine the cause of death, particularly that of the children.

Yballe has yet to speak with the administration or staff of the apartelle to know if they heard anything prior to the discovery of the bodies.

No representative from the apartelle was available to issue statement yesterday although the facility’s security personnel were there and prevented reporters from entering or getting near the establishment.

They also used white linens to block reporters and onlookers, who had gathered nearby, from viewing the bodies when these were taken out from the apartelle.

Yballe said Bernardita described Felix to be a good and silent person and that she did not notice any indication that he was planning to kill the children then commit suicide. (JTG with reports from DRT of Sun.Star Superbalita)

pangutana para sa 5,000php nga premyo is:

1. Kon ikaw ug ang imong kapikas sa kinabuhi (husband or wife) nagsakay sa barko nga padong na malunod unya usa ra ka lifejacket ang imong nakuha, Parehas mong duha nga good swimmer, imo ba kining ihatag sa imong kapikas or will you keep it to yourself? Why?

Belw is the question para sa 2 days and 1 night stay sa villa with romantic dinner and breakfast in bed.

2. Kon ikaw mahimong Presidente sa Pilipinas, unsa man ay imong unang himoon nga balaod or pamaagi para moasenso ang atong nasod ug mawala ang graft and corruption?

i will not give the life jacket to my nor i will wear it. since we are good swimmers, if there is a way that we can keep it by not wearing it, we will do it. who knows we will need it as we swim towards the shore. who knows one of us got tired so basically there is a jacket that we can use.

kung akoy mahimong presidente, usa ra ka butang ang akong buhaton aron masumpo ang corruption. i-centralize ug i-online tanang mga agencies specially kadtong mga nagdawat ug kwarta agig bayad. kung magbayad online there is no way nga maka kickback pa ang mga in-charge. kadtong gusto mo procure nga nagkinahanglan ug dakong kantidad ug kinahanglan bidding, online gihapon buhaton aron makita sa tanan ang mga bids nga giyagyag sa isig ka competitor.

Macks, the owner of Legacy Group is Celso delos Angeles.  He is based in Bicol region.  It's more likely than not that he invested in stocks in Wall Street which we know now that most are almost negative of value already.

Gaka panic attack ko ani na news.  My aunt in Davao works at Legacy.  She has big exposure and she also had friends invest their money in Legacy. Not only is she losing money, she will also be jobless. My aunt in CDO invested her husband's retirement unya ang interest monthly maoy gigamit for monthly consumption nila.  And now it's gone.

My cousin is president/manager of one rural bank in Cebu owned  by Legacy.  She called me this afternoon and she asked for prayer kay naa sya'y prospective buyer sa iyang bank.  She is not worried about catering the massive withdrawal these days but ga worry sya come early January kay daghan mag mature na time deposits.  Hay, grabeh kalisud jud.     All these talks about bank holidays reminded me of my own experience back then as a banker of a struggling bank.  Dili lalim gajud!  You have to face the wrath of your clients...
grazie7y, unsa nga bank nag manage imong cousin? basin mao nay manager sa branch nga akong gi depositohan? actually, gisige man namo ug balhin among money from branch to branch sa PCRB ug PRB. kadtong didto pa ko sa liloan, sa liloan sad. then balhin sa consolacion and finally diha na sa maguikay branch sa PCRB ug sa ac cortes branch sa PRB diha tanan sa mandaue among last deposit. before namo gi close.
