wooohooo!

wa-wi-waaa!!

Maring and Dong, naka fire namo ug pusil?

Yup, I emptied 2 clips of the M16 (30 rounds), the SKS battle rifle (20 rounds) and a cartridge of the Magnum 65.

I love it 'te. I love the feel of the SKS because its so friggin powerful. The rounds are armor piercing; rips through 3 inches of steel.

Kiams, my feelings were very roller-coaster like sauna, especialidad concerning my x. She was my first in everything jud, and when I found out that one friend from high school was dating her like 5 months after we broke up I was devastated. I wanted to drive back home to beat the living daylight out of this guy. You know what I mean? lol, maybe im too hardcore ra. Pero ya, when I found out about that, I lost any loving feelings on my x, that was the last straw.

I blocked her from my cell jud. Pero it was hard and awkward when I came back home to hang out with my high school brods because she would come whenever she heard I'd go over Lee's or John's place. So yea, she really became too uwagon uwagon in college years. She tried getting close sa una and I was very disinclined jud to talk to her.

In a way I think it was better that we broke up kai she showed a different side of herself from what I knew back in high school.

#46009
Hmm, I didn't show feelings outwardly. When we broke up siya man ning hilak, ako wa ko ning hilak. Na suko baya ko kaayo because she was the one that wanted to 'take it easy' kono before ning start me sa college. So for me, I didn't know why ning hilak siya, kai siya man ning initiate. I only agreed kai gusto man siya. Confusing no?

I didn't take it easily kai she was my first gf and the one that I had such strong feelings for. Freshman year was hard kai she would still call me and mo talk as if we were still 'close'. Of course ma suko ko kai i would get very jealous whenever i heard she was dating one guy or whatever. I didnt really get over her until late in sophomore year. I mean, i never showed my feelings sa outside, pero of course mo hilak gud ko, the first 4 months were really bad. I really disliked women after the break up. A phase ra sigoro to kai eventually i opened up again.

I've dated here and there, had short relationships since then but have never had another serious relationship kai I fear of being hurt again. Sakit ang dughan kaayo if i-break up, me-thinks. Specially when men don't show it, they're usually taking it really bad.

But whatever, i guess its a life experience.

Balong, sir,

You remind me of the parable of the Good Samaritan, and your kindness really brought a smile to my face.
Ingoon ahong pare that there are people who are like the Good Samaritan and they are the ones that people do not suspect of being kind or loving, but in fact they truly are. That we should never judge a book by its cover.

The story goes,

And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

Luke 10:30-37

Thank you Balong for teaching all of us a good lesson. :)

My humble salutations and regards. Keep on giving to your fellow man and always be kind. May the Lord God bless you continuously for all of your kindness and generosity to your fellow man. And may we all learn from your unhindered givingness. God Bless all of us.

This area is true, NASA has sent scientists to study the phenomenon; all point out to the fact that magnetic instruments malfunction. This area is also the hot bed for hurricane activity during inter-seasonal time frames.

@ Mr. Ferniz,

Interesting hypothesis. But my only interjection is that since the proposed meteorite crashed in the central Yucatan, then, hypothetically, the core of magnetism would be centralized in and around that area of Latin America? I mean, the magnetic anomaly would therefore manifest around Southern Mexico, Honduras, Nicaragua, but as far as I know there have been no substantial reports of a similar phenomenon outside the Bermuda Triangle.

And since the Bermuda Triangle is in the periphery of the Yucatan, if we apply by this theory, the effects of magnetism would be minimal on the coordinates of the Bermuda Triangle. Ang interesting thing is that the manifestation of said magnetic anomalies do not centralize in the Yukatan but are rather profound in around the central Caribbean within the Bermuda Triangle.

Perhaps, hypothetically speaking, there was a larger meteorite one that far surpassed the size as seen in the Yucatan, that crashed into the waters underneath the Bermuda Triangle some eons ago? And thus effect magnetic anomalies?

This is just an inference, however.

Kalamay is the best.

I can remember when I was 5 years old, I went with my cousin Joseph, Forlynn, Jon-Jon to the mercado sa Valencia. All four of us would gather our centavos and buy 2 kalamays and a basket of puto. We were the typical little kids in Valencia, haha.

After that, we would walk to the beach sa Valencia and open our kalamay and our basket of puto and kaun kaun dayon. Mo palit pood mi ug a big container of coke so maka inum pood mi. Hahaha.

Sweet kaayo ang life namo adto. Food was good, coke was good, the beach was good, wind in our face, the sun shining down.

I am excessively work oriented. At times I can appear very arrogant and 'bossy' regarding colleagues and students. It is not my intent to be arrogant, but I guess it comes out that way whenever I'm at work in lab, or lecturing in the laboratory. I am a 'by the book' type when it comes to work and studies. Some of my colleagues find that a flaw about me, however, I am not looking to impress them. I do what I must in order to excel and succeed in class. Am selfish in that retrospect.

At work and when concerning studying, I am very strict. Exceedingly so
After work or when I'm free, I'm more interpersonal. Approachable.

Mother is all that is noble and fine,
And all that is right and good.
She richly deserves every sonnet that’s sung
To her glorious motherhood.
And when Mother receives some fresh acclaim
The whole wide world is glad,
But away down deep in every heart
There’s a place that is just for Dad.

We may not shower him with praise
Nor mention his name in song,
And sometimes it seems that we forget
The joy he spreads as he goes along,
But it doesn’t mean that we don’t know
The wonderful role that he has had.
And away down deep in every heart
There’s a place that is just for Dad.

Dedicated to you, Daddy Rico.

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so,

He called it ... Dad

You've been everything to me: a father,
Teacher, playmate, model, conscience, friend.
Sometimes I'm not certain why you bother,
If your feelings on my words depend.
I know I haven't been the child I should:
Far from it, and I really can't say why.
I know exactly what I'd label good,
But in the real world something goes awry.
Underneath my actions there is love,
Gratitude, respect, and admiration.
Sometimes I don't know what I'm thinking of,
But I thank God you're in for the duration.
I'm sorry, sorry for the things I do,
But please believe I cherish Mom and you.

Poems and Poets / Doctors of Men
April 14, 2008, 12:04:23 PM
By Anne Sexton

They work with herbs
and penicillin
They work with gentleness
and the scalpel.
They dig out the cancer,
close an incision
and say a prayer
to the poverty of the skin.
They are not Gods
though they would like to be;
they are only a human
trying to fix up a human.
Many humans die.
They die like the tender,
palpitating berries
in November.
But all along the doctors remember:
First do no harm.
They would kiss if it would heal.
It would not heal.

If the doctors cure
then the sun sees it.
If the doctors kill
then the earth hides it.
The doctors should fear arrogance
more than cardiac arrest.
If they are too proud,
and some are,
then they leave home on horseback
but God returns them on foot.

Poems and Poets / Farmers
April 14, 2008, 12:02:53 PM
by Debra Bateman

Tilling the soil and planting crops to feed a hungry world,
Hoping for rain to water the fertile soil,
Waiting for harvest to see how the yield unfurled,
Anticipating satisfaction and income for that which they toil.

Long days of tired bodies, aching backs and sweat,
Worrying about crop eating pests, hail and drought,
And of severe storms that could be a destroying threat,
Rollercoaster of joy, sadness, determination and doubt.

Striving year after year to bring in a good harvest,
Combines working until they cannot see to proceed,
Trucks lined up at the elevators, wishing each other the best,
Through skill, determination & trials, many times they succeed.

Think of what farmers bring to the table,
Eggs, bacon and milk from the cow,
The farmer’s worth is not just a fable,
They excel in what they do, let them come take a bow.

The farmers also grow wheat and milo,
For our cows and horses, they make hay,
They have many a tall silo,
Working from dawn until dark every day.

For their sacrifice and food they grow,
For the beauty of the wheat fields when in the evenings glow,
For the stamina and determination they show,
Respect and dignity to them, let us bestow.

On a side note,

I remember reading something from the science monthly about one article written by a theoretical physicists  on the concept of black holes or astronomical anomalies being responsible for these changes.

The explanation was on a physics orientation and was beyond my biochemical understanding.

It is amazing that there are hundreds of students doing their Ph.D dissertation on theroetical quantum mechanics on the Bermuda Triangle; and theoretical calculations that links the bermuda triangle to astronomical anomalies in the heavens.

They stress the concept of worm holes, fiber bending, etc, things that are not proved in science but mere theories. They are theories within theories.

Nonetheless, it is something that continues to stimulate mankind's understanding of the 'unknown'.

#46041
'te that is a very good point.

I really don't know and am very intrigued by that question. All I know is that from what these scientists point out when one enters the Bermuda Triangle, all compasses will malfunction; instead of point to a magnetic north, it points to a magnetic south. And since compasses are driven by attraction to the Earth's magnetism that is in the north and south poles.

However, the fact that compasses malfunction and that any magnetic-instruments become unstable leads to a strong confidence in a theory that there is something in area that leads to the ambiguity. It defies scientific and physical law.

It is an anomaly that has confounded theoretical physicists, marine biologists, oceanographers, limnologists and aeronautical engineers for decades. There are no proven 'laws', but multiple theories, which are constantly being abated.

Spooky, no?

Did you know that,

The RNA Polymerase is multi-faceted in its abilities, which are imperative for the stability and function of cells, tissues, tissue systems, organs, organ systems, to the organismal level?

Per se,
The RNA Polymerase I is responsible for the creation of large rRNAs, the RNA Polymerase II is responsible for the creation of mRNA, snRNA, and hnRNAs, whereas the RNA Polymerase II is responsible for the creation and production of 5s rRNAs, and the tRNAs.

These said products are responsible for signal transduction, the transcription, translocation, elongation of DNA in the larger scheme of things. Additionally, they are also responsible for the maintenance of internal homeostasis by providing enough mRNA that messages are replicated throughout the body in the cellular, tissue, and visceral level; which thereby affects the particular organism.

Any mutanogensis of these core RNA Polymerases will thereby inhibit or even abolish transcription and affect the homeostasis of a organism through mitigation of the cells, tissues, organs and organ systems.

Did you know that the RNA Polymerase drives genetic replication?
To which we propagate vis-a-vis offspring.

Did you know that without the RNA Polymerase we would be totally and absolutely dysfunctional and would liquidate due to structural, and internal breakdown?

About the Nucleosome,

The nucleosome composes the basic fragment of chromatin structures that make up eukaryotic (higher tiered oragnisms; humans are within this suprataxa) and prokaryotic (lower tiered organisms; virus, eubacteria, etc).

The nucleosome is composed of the core histone particles; namely the H1, H2A, H2B, H3 and H4. Nucleosomes are designed that the H2A and H2B will form a dimer complex, while the H3 and H4 will form a tetramer complex, thereby constituting the octamer complex seen in the basic core histone processes.

The nucleosome is basal in composition; it is universal, so to speak.

The nucleosome structure of a pea is no more different to that of a cow or a human; actually there are only subtle differences in compositional structure of a human's nucleosome that binds to the plasmodic DNA, and in the nucleosome seen in a common pea.

This universality of development, this basicity in genetic formation is what traces evolution to the explanation in development of organismal taxas.

It is proof of evolutionary discourse; that eukaryotes evolved from a common proto-eukaryotic ancestor.

A universal macromolecule. Which designed a common nucleosome, from which the intricacies of evolution would manifest all its wonders.

Did you know that?

Much obliged.

Actually its very interesting to read about the far fetched theories that some Bermuda Triangle specialists have.
Some range in sea monsters, extra terrestrial aliens, and national conspiracies.

Rather riveting to read; nonetheless, one can't help but dismiss them at the end of the day.

For practicality's sake.

#46045
Introduction

You won't find it on any official map and you won't know when you cross the line, but according to some people, the Bermuda Triangle is a very real place where dozen of ships, planes and people have disappeared with no good explanation. Since a magazine first coined the phrase "Bermuda Triangle" in 1964, the mystery has continued to attract attention. When you dig deeper into most cases, though, they're much less mysterious. Either they were never in the area to begin with, they were actually found, or there's a reasonable explanation for their disappearance.

Does this mean there's nothing to the claims of so many who have had odd experiences in the Bermuda Triangle? Not necessarily. Scientists have documented deviations from the norm in the area and have found some interesting formations on the seafloor within the Bermuda Triangle's boundaries. So, for those who like to believe in it, there is plenty fuel for the fire.

In this article, we'll look at the facts surrounding what we do know about the area as well as some of the most commonly-recited stories. We'll also explore the bizarre theories like aliens and space portals as well as the mundane explanations.

Many think of the Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil's Triangle, as an "imaginary" area. The U. S. Board of Geographic Names does not recognize the Bermuda Triangle and does not maintain an official file on it. However, within this imaginary area, many real vessels and the people aboard them have seemingly disappeared without explanation.

The Bermuda Triangle is located off the Southeastern coast of the United States in the Atlantic Ocean, with its apexes in the vicinities of Bermuda, Miami, Florida, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. It covers roughly 500,000 square miles.

The area may have been named after its Bermuda apex since Bermuda was once known as the "Isle of Devils." Treacherous reefs that have ensnared ships sailing too close to its shores surround Bermuda, and there are hundreds of shipwrecks in the waters that surround it.

Magnetic Abnormalities

"The Fog: A Never Before Published Theory of the Bermuda Triangle Phenomenon," by Rob MacGregor and Bruce Gernon include reports of an "electronic fog" that both men experienced while flying in the Bermuda Triangle. On December 4, 1970, Gernon and his father were flying to Bimini in clear skies when they saw a strange cloud with almost perfectly round edges hovering over the Miami shore. As they flew over it, the cloud began spreading out, matching or exceeding their speed. At 11,500 feet, they thought that they had escaped the "cloud," only to discover that it had formed a tunnel. It appeared the only way they could escape the cloud was to go through the tunnel. Once inside, they saw lines on the walls that spun in a counterclockwise direction. Gernon's navigational instruments went haywire and the compass spun counterclockwise.

Gernon reported that he "realized that something very bizarre had happened. Instead of the clear blue sky that we expected at the end of the tunnel, everything appeared a dull, grayish white. Visibility appeared to be about two miles, but there was absolutely nothing to see - no ocean, no horizon, no sky, only a gray haze."

When Gernon contacted Miami Air Traffic Control to get radar identification, the controller said that there were no planes on radar between Miami, Bimini and Andros. After several minutes, Gernon heard the air traffic controller report that a plane had been spotted directly over Miami. Gernon didn't think he could possibly be over Miami Beach, because it usually took 75 minutes to get to Miami and only 47 minutes had passed. At this same time, the cloud tunnel began to peel away in what he described as ribbons of fog. The instruments began operating normally and Miami Beach was directly below them. This loss of time, confirmed by their watches and the plane's clock, made Gernon believe that the electronic fog had time travel qualities.
Gernon experienced the fog one more time in flight with his wife. Many other pilots have had similar experiences in the area. Gernon believes that powerful electromagnetic storms from within the  Earth break through the surface and come into the atmosphere where they soon disappear, leaving electronic fog. According to Gernon, a Swedish scientist has found that magnetism is weaker in the triangle than anywhere else on Earth, which may be why the fog happens more there than anywhere else.

For more on this theory, listen to this Paranormal Podcast interview with Bruce Gernon. When Don Pelz of Indiana heard of Gernon's experience, he contacted him about his own. He had also seen the doughnut shaped clouds 10 years ago and was able to retrieve radar images of what Gernon calls a "time storm."

Compass Malfunctions

In almost every account of the mystery surrounding the Bermuda Triangle, you'll see reference to the fact that it is one of only two places on Earth (the other being the Devil's Sea off the coast of Japan) where a compass points to true north rather than magnetic north. Theorists say that this causes compasses to malfunction and ships and planes to get off-course.

A compass works because its magnetic needle is attracted by the magnetism of the Earth, which draws it to point to the constantly shifting Magnetic North Pole. The Geographic North Pole, on the other hand, is static and is located about 1200 miles north of the Magnetic Pole. The variation between the two readings is known as magnetic declination (or compass variation), which can change by as much as 20 degrees as you move across the globe.

The agonic line is an imaginary line where true north and magnetic north are in perfect alignment - there is no magnetic declination. At points west of the agonic line, a magnetic needle will point east of true north (positive declination). At points east of the agonic line, a magnetic needle will point west of true north (negative declination). Extended lines that mark the constant magnetic declination away from the agonic line are called isogonic lines.

In the early 18th century, Edmund Halley noticed that the agonic line was slowly moving westward. Since then, scientists have noted a westward drift of the agonic line with an average velocity of about 0.2 degrees per year. The drift is not equal in all places, however. It is stronger in the Atlantic Hemisphere than in the Pacific Hemisphere. Navigators must always compensate for magnetic declination when charting their courses.

While the agonic line once passed through the Bermuda Triangle, it now falls within the Gulf of Mexico, rendering claims that it can contribute to disappearances in the Triangle inaccurate. Calculation errors anywhere could cause a plane or ship to go off-course. This theory also assumes that experienced pilots and captains passing through the area were unaware of magnetic declination, which is unlikely.

Blue Holes
Blue holes are water-filled caves and cavities with blue coloration. These caves may be simply a hole in the ground in the interior of islands (inland blue holes) or holes in shallow waters on the banks (marine or ocean blue holes). British scuba diver Rob Palmer directed a blue holes research center in the Bahamas for a number of years. In July 1997, he failed to surface after a dive in the Red Sea and was presumed dead. Some think that the blue holes may be related to (or even formed by) micro-wormholes believed to exist in the area and might even be transit points for UFOs arriving here from other dimensions.

Plausible Theories

A)
  Weather Patterns and Topography
The area is subject to violent and unexpected storms and weather changes. These short but intense storms can build up quickly, dissipate quickly, and go undetected by satellite surveillance. Waterspouts that could easily destroy a passing plane or ship are also not uncommon. A waterspout is simply a tornado at sea that pulls water from the ocean surface thousands of feet into the sky. Other possible environmental effects include underwater earthquakes, as scientists have found a great deal of seismic activity in the area. Scientists have also spotted freak waves up to 100 feet high.

The underwater topography of the area may also be a factor. It goes from a gently sloping continental shelf to an extremely deep drop-off. In fact, some of the deepest trenches in the world are found in the area of the Bermuda Triangle. Ships or planes that sink into these deep trenches will probably never be found.
The Gulf Stream, where the Triangle is located, is extremely swift and turbulent. It can pose extreme navigational challenges, especially for inexperienced sailors. The Gulf Stream has been reported to move faster than 5 mph in some areas - more than fast enough to throw sailors hundreds of miles off course if they don't compensate correctly for the current. It can also quickly erase any evidence of a disaster.

B) Methane Gas Hydrates
This theory appears to hold promise for at least some of the disappearances in the Bermuda Triangle. Scientists at Cardiff University have discovered the presence of large concentrations of methane gas trapped in the ocean floor. This gas is due to dying and decomposing sea organisms. The sediment contains bacteria that produce methane, which accumulates as super concentrated methane ice, called gas hydrates. The layer of ice traps the methane gas, and scientists are studying it as a potential energy source.

C)
While historical pirates like Blackbeard or the fictional Captain Jack Sparrow of "Pirates of the Caribbean" may not be likely candidates for disappearances, modern pirates might be. In the 1970s and '80s, drug runners often pirated boats to smuggle drugs. This theory could also bear some truth during wartime.

For the readers that are not acquainted with the Majapahit Empire that WN metioned in this thread;

The Majapahit Empire was a Malay civilization based in eastern Java near the cities of Majapahit and Jawadwipa where it developed into a oceanic trading organization, an empire so to say. Majapahit eventually usurped regional authority from the declining Sri Vijayan Empire, another malay-based oceanic empire.

What was interesting about the Majapahit is that it is purely Malay so to speak, whereas the emperors and rulers of Sri Vijaya were of Indian decent. Majapahit, on the other hand hailed rulers that were of the same racial stock ranging from Yogyakarta, Bedahulu lombok miran, Palembang and central Java. Why even the greatest of the emperors to sit on the throne of Majapahit was Wayam Wuruk, who was central Javanese.  A pure Malay, as the cradle of the Malay Race is Java. (Modern day Filipino Malays came from Borneo--who iimmigrated north from Java as a result of over population; hence the colonization of the philippinese. Hence the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia are known as the MALAY ARCHIPELAGO)

The Majapahit Empire was successful in their policies in that the state religion was Hinduism; and the royal house employed a very militaristic policy, compared to the more theocratic and diplomatic stance of the former Sri Vijaya, which can explain the eventual decline of Sri Vijaya, in that their emperors eventually adopted a more religious stance on politics; abandoning external threats and needs for internal meditiation. Which was a characteristic in the form of thervada buddhism that was practiced by Sri Vijayan God-Kings. This so called internal transcendance to divinity directly led to usurpation of power by the Majapahit Malays. The monk-kings of Srivijaya in its later phase were weak and unable to hold their own ground against the rising militaristic faction that was Majapahit.

When you mention the name Wadji, it reminded me of a famous Malay general-lord by the name of Raden Wijaya, who actually employed a brilliant diplomatic stance with the Mongol Yuan Dynasty of China. Wijaya asked military aid from the Yuan dynasty in handling internal problems with the Jayakatwang state, once the problem was effaced, the forces of Majapahit turned against their Mongol allies, annihilating most of the army and forcing the remaining forces out of the Majapahit Empire.

These majapahit malays were able to defeat and force out the feared Mongol Empire out of their own domain; a force of over 100,000 mongol forces were defeated and rooted out. Can you imagine such a number? It is the same number that was sent to Japan and was lost to the famed Kami-Kaze.

Amazing isn't it?

WN and Mr. Fernized mentioned about hindu temples; the following were the temples built by Majapahit throughout its empire.

OT: This is one of the reasons why men shouldn't be forced to wear short shorts.

When we were doing practice for javelin, you have to make a certain leg technique that allows the javelin to be thrown in good form. So mao ni we had to wear very short shorts, and when I say short shorts i mean up to the upper thigh:

like this:

hahaha! Javelin throwers would be made fun of by the discus throwers and the shot put throwers as the "ballerinas", so what we used to do was throw our javelins in their direction whenever the coaches were taking  a break. LOL.
We would take off the speared tip tho to make sure no one was impaled. I can remember throwing the discuss one time and it hit one player in the abdomen. Vindication is so sweet ;)

Hahahaha! na unas man ka, Kiams? Na trauma jud? ah hahahahah! your incident reminds me of the song entitled, "this guy is in love with you, pare" hahahahaah!

Ako,

Sa sophomore year sa ahong high school i was part of the Williamstown High School Track and Field. I was a varsity javelin thrower and discuss thrower. So it was customary for us to go around the track and jog 8 laps and then doin gasers. So one time, the track team and the field guys (i was in this group) practiced with the women's track and field team. O man, I remember when we were doing bending there was this hot hot hot hot girl in front of me. So when we bent i could see her fine asss, and it was unfortunate that we had to wear really tight short shorts. LOL

And you know about young teen men having sexual drives, diba? so I had a very prominent erection and some guy (i forget his name) in the track team was like, "Dude, Lucino pitched a ten!" hahaha. He said it so loud that the team heard it and looked. I was so effing embarassed and angry kai ang baji that was the subject of my interest looked and laughed as well.

I got angry that I ended up chasing the guy who yelled it out loud. I did manage to tackle him, pero yea,  i was the subject of jokes by my track and field mates of "Lucino Pitch" hahahaha.

Police officials said they suspected Abu Sayyaf-linked militants might be behind the incidents.

HONG KONG -- Melba A. Pardua, a domestic helper, was supposed to leave Thursday for her annual vacation to the Philippines.

The 50-year-old mother of four and another Filipino maid will be coming home in sealed lead coffins after they allegedly took their own lives last Monday by jumping out of the apartment buildings of their employers.

Pardua and 31-year-old Carolina A. Dacquil, both from Isabela province, were found dead on Monday morning outside the apartment buildings in North Point and Aberdeen districts, respectively, said Erlinda Albay, officer-in-charge of the assistance to nationals section of the Philippine Consulate here.

“There were no signs of foul play but the police investigation continues. No suicide letters were found,” Albay said.

Newspaper reports here said police suspect that the Filipinas committed suicide because of financial difficulties.

Pardua, who had been working for her Hong Kong employer for the past 13 years, was found dead at around 11:30 a.m. after she allegedly jumped out of the 10th floor apartment at North Point.

“Her employer was crying when she came here to report the incident. She said they were looking for her on Monday morning and they thought she just went out to buy a newspaper,” Albay said.

The Chinese employer said that Pardua did not mention any problem that she might have been having and that she was satisfied with the Filipina’s work. She said Pardua was on her seventh contract with the family.

Three of Pardua’s four children have already graduated from college while the youngest is studying to be a nurse.

According to Albay, Pardua’s niece and a friend have said that Pardua was noticeably depressed last Sunday, “that she was not herself.”

“The only thing her friend remembered was that Pardua was hoping that she could bring home more gifts when she goes on her regular vacation beginning [Thursday]. They were supposed to go home together,” Albay added.

Pardua’s remains will be flown to Tuguegarao on April 15 once all the necessary documents are ready.

Also on Monday, Dacquil was found dead at about 6 a. m. She had apparently jumped out of the 9th-floor apartment of her employer in Aberdeen.

Dacquil’s employers also said they did not know of any problem that the Filipina could have been undergoing. They said she had been working for them only since January 2007 although she had been in Hong Kong for seven years before that.

While there was still no clear evidence showing that financial problems led the two women to commit suicide, Albay said that this has cropped up in other suicide cases involving Filipinos working as domestic helpers in Hong Kong.

Some migrant organizations estimate that up to 90 percent of the estimated 125,000 Filipino domestics in Hong Kong are in debt because they borrowed money to come here or they took out loans to send cash to their families back in the Philippines.

Condolences to the family of the victims. What is up with these suicides nowadays?

The reason why China and India's economy remains strong is because of thier hard-line policies.

In India, a foreign company or business are not allowed if there is no 70% Indian ownership. That means 70% of profit will come back to India.

The same is true in China. For example Nike Shoes established branding in the US with production in China. Actually, there is no such thing as Nike factory in China, but shoes are made by 3 or 4 different contractors. So, 100% of profit in production will go to China. The US will only profit from branding royalty and not in production.

In the Philippines, very few companies would invest in production due to high fuel cost.

I have this insecure feeling if China will collaborate with Philippines. In terms of manpower, they have already surplus labors. Hence, they are only after of one thing and that is our natural resources.

That is true, Mr. Ferniz. As we speak, as China provides loans for the Philippines and shakes hands with our politicians, the People's Liberational Armed Navy is circumnavigating around the Spratley Islands and intruding in Philippine-held Kalayaan islands.

There are billions of gallons of natural gas around the Spratleys and China is already eying it.

Bottom Line:

Philippines needs a dual policy.
1) Maintain strategic relations with the United States, always
2) Engage with the Chinese in economic trade, other than that, do not give concessions.

They're pretty affordable, Kiams. You can get a 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid starting from 18k up. The 2009 Ford Focus hybrid starts around 20k.

But if you really want to get something small that is sleek looking and extremely fuel efficient, the Wolkswagen Golf is nice; you can get 40 miles to the gallon on the highway on those things.

There are even rising SUV hybrids, such as the new 2009 Toyota Highlander hybrid, the 2009 Mitsubishi Endeavor hybrid, the new 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid, and the H2009 Honda CRV hybrid. These are popular in the states because it satisfies two things:
1) It still provides safety; 4 wheel drive; and bigger
2) Also fuel efficient and saves the average driver alot of money when filling up

Here are some hybrid cars:

I’ve given up on giving up slowly, I’m blending in so

This one last bullet you mention is my one last shot at redemption
because I know to live you must give your life away
And I’ve been housing all this doubt and insecurity and
I’ve been locked inside that house all the while You hold the key
And I’ve been dying to get out and that might be the death of me
And even though, there’s no way in knowing where to go, promise I’m going because

I’m stuck inside this rut that I fell into by mistake
I gotta get outta here
And I’m begging You, I’m begging You, I’m begging You to be my escape.

I’m giving up on doing this alone now
Cause I’ve failed and I’m ready to be shown how
He’s told me the way and I’m trying to get there
And this life sentence that I’m serving
I admit that I’m every bit deserving
But the beauty of grace is that it makes life not fair

Cause I’ve been housing all this doubt and insecurity and

And I’ve been dying to get out and that might be the death of me
And even though, there’s no way in knowing where to go, promise I’m going because
I gotta get outta here
Cause I’m afraid that this complacency is something I can’t shake
I gotta get outta here
And I’m begging You, I’m begging You, I’m begging You to be my escape.

I am a hostage to my own humanity
Self detained and forced to live in this mess I’ve made
And all I’m asking is for You to do what You can with me
But I can’t ask You to give what You already gave

Cause I’ve been housing all this doubt and insecurity and
I’ve been locked inside that house all the while you hold the key
And I’ve been dying to get out and that might be the death of me

I fought You for so long
I should have let You in
Oh how we regret those things we do
And all I was trying to do was save my own skin
But so were You

So were You

O sacrum convivium
O sacred banquet,
in which Christ is received,
the memory of his Passion is renewed,
the mind is filled with grace,
and a pledge of future glory is given to us.

Tantum ergo
Down in adoration falling,
Lo! the sacred Host we hail;
Lo! o'er ancient forms departing,
Newer rites of grace prevail;
Faith for all defects supplying,
Where the feeble senses fail.
To the everlasting Father,
And the Son who reigns on high,
With the Holy Spirit proceeding
Forth from each eternally,
Be salvation, honor, blessing,
Might and endless majesty. Amen.

V. You have given them bread from heaven,

R. Having all delight within it.

Let us pray.

O God, who in this wonderful Sacrament
left us a memorial of your Passion:
grant, we implore you,
that we may so venerate
the sacred mysteries of your Body and Blood,
as always to be conscious of the fruit of your Redemption.
You who live and reign forever and ever. Amen.

Anima Christi
Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O good Jesus, hear me.
Within your wounds conceal me.
Do not permit me to be parted from you.
From the evil foe protect me.
At the hour of my death call me.
And bid me come to you,
to praise you with all your saints
for ever and ever.
Amen.

En ego, o bone et dulcissime Iesu
Here,
O good and gentle Jesus,
I kneel before you,
and with all the fervor of my soul
I pray that you engrave within my heart
lively sentiments of faith, hope, and love,
true repentance for my sins,
and a firm purpose of amendment.
While I see and I ponder your five wounds
with great affection and sorrow in my soul,
I have before my eyes those words of yours
that David prophesied about you:
"They have pierced my hands and feet;
I can count all my bones." (Ps 22, 17)
Amen.

Waken by the sounds of the people coming by,
People opening up their shops, and the Birds
chirping in the Sky.
The younger women laughing, and the Children playing games.
The smell of yummy pinoy food, that just drives me insane.
The nagging from my mother, telling me to awake.
The sun up in the sky, with it's penetrating rays,
Mmm, that's some things I miss about my Philippines,
THAT is why I'm going back, by all means.

He he, I know it's horrible but I wrote it on the spot.
The last two lines don't seem to fit though.

Excellent!

Keep on writing beautiful poems, Em.

The Human DNA strand,
The Proof of Divinity's presence,

Tiny speck of dust blew up rippling strings
intersections in molecular bits coalesced storms.
syrupy magic through oceanic sunkisses
cerulean sequences and pulled out lava from mountain
smothers. Earthly masks and heavy hot dreams, so comes
a piece of twisted life.

Tiny bit of seed tearing through gates piercing
interaction in gluttonous beds conjured flesh.
senses grow through cords caressed movements spelt
when pulled out of blood and sheets drape red.
Eager faces watch in curiosity the fragile moves, of
a piece of twisted life.

Tiny drop of fluid smudged on raiment dissected
manifestations on screens through symbolic codes.
the fingerprints dug through cell fluids and synchronization
pulls out the hidden face in the crowd. Barred
bleedings and death gallows in prospect hang, and then
a piece of twisted life.

We must not compare ourselves to nations like the United States, and other republican systems that have centuries to testify their republican system.

I denounce corruption, the act of vote buying, and the act of selling votes. Using political power for personal reasons is against the sanctity of the public office.

However, we must duly note that our country is new. We are not like the United States where she has over 230 years of independency and ample time to experiment on their political systems. Our country received independence no more than 62 years ago. And for over 20 years our country was under a totalitarian dictatorship. We reverted to democracy in 1987, meaning that we have been 'independent' for 21 years.

21 years is not ample amount of time to declare hopelessness within our nation. Of course there will be vote buying and trickling remnants of corruption, time has not effaced them from power.

I remain optimistic.

What used to be immortal words of Dr. Jose Rizal is now dead.  What remains immortal is only Rizal's face in our PESO BILLS.  That's why during election, we don't seem to care about Rizal's admonition; we only care of how many Rizal faces are given to us; give us Rizal's face and you'll have my vote; the more Rizal face you give the more votes you get.
That the youths are the hope of the fatherland, is now no more.  In the last SK ELECTION our youths chosed to follow the path of dirty politics by doing the following: 1. VOTE BUYING;  2. LAMING (FREE BOARD & LODGING);  and,  3. JUDAS ESCARIOTISM.

So what can we expect from the youths as our future leaders?

Let us have faith in the youth, Olintaha. Do not despair completely.

We must never give up, the moment we give up is to bequeath to defeat.

In times of severity, when the wolves are in our ranks, we must take heed and look to our Dr. Jose P. Rizal.
Did he give up when he was arrested? When anti-revolutionistas hunted him down in Madrid and in Manila, did he cease his pen? Nay, he did not. He wrote, he continued to activate.

Rizal, like Prophet Moses, was able to see the promised land. To see paradise, the full potential of our nation, though he was unable to see it manifest. Dr. Rizal placed his trust in the youth of Las Filipinas. And thus we must strive like him, and never give up despite defeat's coiling presence. Even if you and I are silenced, there will be others to carry the flag.

Just as Rizal, had faith in us, we too must have faith in ourselves, our rights, and the future of our precious Filipinas.

Olintaha, when the going gets tough, the tough get going.

For Joelito Bayabado, good times may have ended.

Bayabado, 32, and a Pasig City traffic enforcer, was rushed to the hospital on early Thursday after his wife, Lenly, sliced off his penis with a knife in a jealous rage.

A report from Police Officer 2 Rolly Lipata of the Pasig City police said the incident occurred in the bedroom of the family’s house in Nagpayong I, in the village Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

Lenly, the police said, suspected her husband of having affairs and having tired of it, planned to stop her husband from seeing other women.

So before they went to sleep on Wednesday night, Lenly kept a knife near her and when the opportunity rose, cut off her husband’s penis.

A bleeding Bayabado was rushed to the Rizal Medical Center by his relatives. A hospital employee, who requested anonymity, said the victim begged the doctor to reattach the severed sex organ.

The source said the doctors operated on Bayabado hours after the incident to save the appendage. But source said it was uncertain if Bayabado can make full use of his organ again.

Meanwhile, police said Bayabado will not sue his wife for cutting off his penis to keep the family intact. The couple has four children.

Philippine Daily Inquirer

Shame on this man. He had 4 children with his wife and still he had the audacity to lay in bed with another woman, and have the intrepidity to sleep with his wife at night.

Where was your guilt? Have you no shame?

The plethora of agonies your wife must have suffered.

Justice is painful. And I do not have sympathy for this man. If he wanted to lay in bed with another woman he should have sued for divorce or asked for some kind of annulment.

Malaysia's prime minister has accepted responsibility for his ruling coalition's poor election results and will plan how to hand over power to his deputy after December, an official and news reports said Saturday.

Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi assured party officials at a private meeting late Friday that he would discuss a succession plan with his deputy, Najib Razak, a party official said on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to make public statements.

Speaking to reporters after the talks in southern Johor state, Abdullah acknowledged that some officials in the ruling United Malays National Organization party had called for him to resign after last month's general elections.

"There have been demands," Abdullah was quoted as saying by the national news agency, Bernama. "I feel I am the reason for the spoiled votes for the (ruling coalition) and I feel responsible to do what's best to rehabilitate" the government.

Consumer Affairs Minister Shahrir Samad said details of how and when Abdullah will hand over power would be determined after the United Malays National Organization holds its annual congress in December.

"Abdullah will sort the matter out with Najib after the UMNO general assembly," Shahrir told Bernama. "We will work together till the general assembly."

International Trade Minister Muhyiddin indicated that no deadline has been set for Abdullah to step down, saying "the period of transition and so on were not mentioned in detail" during Friday's talks, Bernama reported.

Abdullah, 68, began hinting at a power transition last week when he identified Najib as his probable successor. Abdullah took office in October 2003 after being hand-picked by former leader Mahathir Mohamad, who has spearheaded a campaign to oust Abdullah in recent weeks.

The prime minister has faced the brunt of the blame for crippling setbacks suffered by the National Front ruling coalition in the March 8 general elections. The coalition, led by Abdullah's party, lost its two-thirds majority in Parliament as well as control of five state legislatures.

Abdullah said after Friday's meeting that he wanted to remain in power for a while longer to try to resolve public grievances about issues such as corruption, crime and racial disputes.

"It is not that I want to carry on helming the party for a long time," Bernama quoted the prime minister as saying. "I have to discharge my duties and I feel duty-bound to ensure that all problems are resolved. That is the priority."

Iraq's ambassador to the United States said Tuesday that his country still needs the U.S. military to survive and predicted that the next U.S. president, whoever it is, will agree that the troops will have to stay for at least a while longer.

"Now it is all about getting votes," Ambassador Samir Sumaidaie said of the presidential hopefuls and their views on Iraq.

"When the candidate is successful and is in the White House, that candidate is going to have a different mind frame. At that point, most of the choices will converge."

Sumaidaie, who made the comments after a speech at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, added that he has been in contact with the U.S. presidential campaigns.

Earlier, he told the Washington think tank that American forces "have to leave in a responsible manner."

"We want them to leave. Let's be clear," he said.

Sumaidaie spoke as Gen. David Petraeus and U.S. Ambassador Ryan Crocker were talking to Congress about the latest U.S. military and diplomatic strategy.

The focus of Sumaidaie's speech was "Iraq after five years."

Looking ahead to that time frame, he predicted that Iraq will still be "a work in progress," comparing the current situation in the nation to "a recovery from a terminal illness."

"I am willing to predict there will be gradual reduction over the next few years of American involvement, commitment in Iraq, but I am not willing to get into numbers and dates," he said.

After his speech, he said he understands the frustration of members of Congress and many Americans seeking to end U.S. involvement in Iraq.

"I say to them, yes, I understand your pain, but it is not something you can get out of so easily. This is the wrong time unless you want to hand the country on a plate to Iran," he said.

Chinese President Hu Jintao took a hard line Saturday in his first remarks on the recent unrest in Tibet, saying the matter is an internal affair that impacts Chinese sovereignty.

Hu's comments to visiting Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd came a day after China intensified attacks on overseas critics, blasting a U.S. House resolution on Tibet as "crude interference" and labeling a leading Tibetan exile group a terrorist organization.

His remarks follow massive demonstrations by pro-Tibet activists and other groups targeting the torch relay for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games. The protests have stirred anger from the government in Beijing and among Chinese citizens.

Hu spoke to Rudd at a meeting on the sidelines of a regional economic forum in the southern province of Hainan. He addressed the issues of exiled spiritual leader the Dalai Lama -- whom Beijing blames for fomenting the unrest -- and the anti-government protests that broke out in the Tibetan capital of Lhasa last month.

"Our conflict with the Dalai clique is not an ethnic problem, not a religious problem, nor a human rights problem," the official Xinhua News Agency quoted Hu as saying. "It is a problem either to safeguard national unification or to split the motherland."

As Tibet's former Communist Party boss, Hu enforced a harsh crackdown against the last major anti-government protests there in 1989. He has tightened Chinese rule over the Himalayan region since taking over as president in 2003, stepping-up controls over Tibetan Buddhism and increasingly opened the region to travel and migration from other parts of China.

The latest round of Tibetan protests began peacefully among Buddhist monks in Lhasa on March 10, the anniversary of a failed 1959 uprising in which the Dalai Lama fled to India. Four days later they turned violent, with hundreds of shops torched and Chinese civilians attacked.

China says 22 people were killed in the riots, many in arson attacks, and over 1,000 detained. The Dalai Lama's India-based government-in-exile says more than 140 people were killed.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said the resolution passed Wednesday by the House of Representatives "crudely interfered in China's internal politics, seriously hurting the feelings of the Chinese people."

The resolution sponsored by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called on Beijing to "end its crackdown on nonviolent Tibetan protesters," along with cultural, religious, economic and linguistic "repression."

Chinese state media also lashed out at the Tibetan Youth Congress, accusing it of orchestrating recent protests in a bid to overthrow Chinese rule and sabotage the Beijing Olympics in August.
