Dolphy and Zsa Zsa Padilla

By JECELYN V. MACAHINDOG
March 2, 2012, 2:00am

MANILA, Philippines â€" The much-awaited union of longtime partners Dolphy and Zsa Zsa Padilla will no longer happen.

This is according to the singer-actress herself as she talked about the King of Comedy’s current health condition.

“Siguro kahit paano you’d been hearing rumors, the past years have been very difficult with my family. Alam naman nila na si Dolphy, aside from being 83 years old, he’s not in the pink of health,” the “Budoy” actress said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.

Zsa Zsa, who has been Dolphy’s partner for over two decades, stressed that she has given up the idea of marrying her daughters’ (Nicole and Zia) father.

With Dolphy’s ailing health, Zsa Zsa admitted that there are still disbelievers questioning her love for the veteran comedian. According to the actress, there are those claiming that she is only after Dolphy’s money.

“Ang daming nagsabi na, ‘O tuloy na ang pangarap niya, talagang pera lang ‘yan blah blah.’ Masakit sa akin because all my life I’ve been working and the few instances na hindi ako nagtrabaho, siguro nagbuntis lang ako tapos I went back to work. Kahit paano affected ako, aaminin ko, na iniisip sa akin ng tao ‘yung ganoon. Sa tagal ng pagsasama namin ay nabibigyan pa rin ng malisya at sasabihing ‘pera lang yan.’ So I just wanted to prove that [it’s wrong],” Zsa Zsa explained in the same ABS-CBN News interview.

The couple agreed that it would be better to keep their relationship as it is.

“Sa totoo lang dapat it should have been between the two of us kaya lang malalaki din ang pamilya niya and may complications na mangyayari. So we found it best na huwag na lang [magpasakal]. Kumbaga ‘tayo pa din naman. Nothing has changed and I’m still here, I’m still supporting you 100 percent’ at ganoon pa din siya. Emotionally binibigay niya ang best niya wala na akong mahihiling pa,” Zsa Zsa shared.

Though marriage is out of the picture now, Zsa Zsa vowed her undying love for Dolphy, embracing him through the good and bad times.

“I just realized na I miss Dolphy whenever I’m not with him. It has brought us closer. You know, we’ve been together probably 23 years this year. Ang tagal na, sa showbiz parang 100 million years ‘yan together. Pero maganda ang feeling na sa tagal ng pagsasama namin, you feel the need to be with this person. Parang ‘yung nag-uumpisa ang relationship ninyo, ganoon ang feeling ko. Honestly I would say I’m in love with him again,” she said.

Begging off to discuss further details about Dolphy’s current state of health, Zsa Zsa assured that her beau is out of the hospital.

“He’s hanging in there. Right now he’s home. He’s in good spirit and we do our best to take care of him,” she said.

Travel and Tours / HOW RP CAN HIT TOURIST TARGETS
March 04, 2012, 12:05:24 PM
The Bohol Chronicle Editorial
February 29, 2012

That our ASEAN neighbors are luring 10 to 20 million tourists a year while RP lags at only 3 million is indeed “a puzzlement” as the King of Siam would say.

Now that a working 4.2 million tourist target (2012) and a brilliant slogan of “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” are in place, we hope to dish our own ten-cents worth of input to the business exercise.

The assumption here, however, is that local tourists are as important as the foreign ones in revving up the economy based on tourism-activities. The others are (a) we are a nation of 7,000 islands and (b) our target market that is distinctly stratified based on their economic propensity to spend.

At the outset we daresay that one of the main drivers of tourism (separated islands as we are) are the profoundly attractive low budget airplane rates given by the so-called LCCs (Low Cost Carriers) like the Cebu Pacific, Zest Air, Airphil and SeaAir. Now even the lowly drivers, house helps and the like are now seated with the well-heeled patrons because of these discounted (by the thousands) air fares.

Definitely, these have allowed the low-budget local and foreign tourists to come and see the islands at vastly reduced air transport costs.

So from the consumer standpoint, the current investigations being done by Congress in the wake of House Bills Nos. 716 and 1283 must be taken in the context of the overall benefit to the economy. The issues of promo tickets being non-refundable, non-endorsable, non-reroutable and being forfeited (if unused) have already being calculated in the matrix of the airlines “profitability” despite the severely reduced fares.

We do not expect airlines to give “missionary rates” that will eventually threaten their own corporate viability. The issues of alleged over booking or unbridled cancellation of flights, however, are of course clearly non-negotiable in any part of the globe.

The other issue is on infrastructure. The BOI (Board of Investments), in designing the Investment Priority Policies for 2012 on Tourism must realize that in many places- among the missing infrastructure is that there are not enough rooms for tourists. Clearly the goal is to enthuse not discourage investments in rooms.

Thus the recent plea of the Philippine Hotel Federation to BOI must be heeded with utmost leniency. Pioneer incentives for all categories (de luxe, first class, standard, economy) â€"as long as accredited by the Department of Tourism, the per room investment minimum being sought is reduction from US$ 100,000 to US$ 50,000 (P4-M to P2M) with a 6 year tax incentive or ITH.

For Pioneer (under modernization), the per room adjustment requested is US$ 5,000 per room from US$10,000 (P200,000 from P 400,000 (de luxe and frist class) and US$2,000 ( P80,000) for (standard and economy).

The in view is to lure more investors in Class A projects as well as medium-priced hotels for the lower B and C tourist markets.

After cheap airline rates and room infrastructure should come in the “segmentation” of the tourist target market.

Right off, one can say, a study on the unrivaled ascendancy of the Camarines Sur “action-packed” and the Danao Bohol tour packages must be put under scrutiny. It seems that there is a growing market of tourists who would like to be “participatory” (water sports, ziplines, plunge, air balloons, kayaking, diving) rather than mere “passive spectator” tourists.

There is also the huge potential of “medical tourism” engendered by the competence of our health professionals, many of who have overseas training and education. Some of our hospitals are world-class: St Lukes Medical Center, The Philipine Heart Center, Asian Hospital and Medical Center, Manila Doctors Hospital and Makati Medical Center.

Some non-traditional breakthroughs in the non-traditional medicine healings have also been “good news” for patients and doctors here. For instance, herbal- scientist Antonio Agustin of Tarlac has co-founded an apparent cure for cancer with the use of “Boston-C” , a BFAD-approved natural food supplement which reportedly destroys half of the population of cancerous cells without the dreaded toxicity.

Reportedly one of the end-stage liver cancer beneficiary of the “Boston C” recovery is retired Philippine army colonel Ruben Evangelista of Zamboanga City.

The facets of coconut, local fruits and herbal extracts-based “Boston C” was reportedly discussed in the East West Medical School in Korea recently.

Another popular local invention is the so-called “Planas Alkaline” invented by Pablo Planas derived from a local mineral with an 8.5 alkaline content which at that level and above “ is enough to kill toxic wastes in the body, including cancer cells, the mother of all toxic cells”, according to a PNA (Philippine News Agency) report.

Planas is also credited with the invention of the “Chaos Turbo Gas Saver”, a device that is now being exported in 17 countries.

Verily, the Philippines has also become a center of Eastern forms of healing including our famous faith healers and massage gurus, some of them well known ,many others practicing their wares without fanfare.

Finally, there is the potential“Religious” Tour which can be highlighted by visits to centuries-old churches that litter almost every town in the country- each with their own story as to how and why they were built they way they are â€"in the 400 years of Spanish conquest of the Philippine islands. Wouldn’t that interest historians and religious people?

With our sandy beaches, azure blue waters, mountain ranges, waterfalls, rivers and lakes, flora and fauna, and a warm, hospitable English speaking people â€" we need not create that problem for our proverbial King Siam on tourist numbers in RP.

But we need to get all the sectors’ act together for our one and only country.

Boston-C Herbal Products is a purified extract of Nata de Coco and other herbal plants. It is very rich in vitamin C, which serves as an anti-oxidant; and contains other phytochemicals known for their curative effects.

Although Boston-C Herbal Products are classified by the BFAD as a Herbal Food supplement, both biological testing and actual experience show that Boston-C herbal extracts go very well beyond that.

In 2002 and 2003, the U.P. Institute of Biology conducted laboratory tests using Boston C herbal extracts in different dilutions on lung adenocarcinoma, colon carcinoma, jurkat cell lymphoma, bladder carcinoma; while a prominent Asian Biotechnology Laboratory tested it on lung and cervical cancer cells for presentation to the World Health Organization. The official results of these scientific laboratory tests clearly revealed and certified that even in its most diluted form, the Boston c herbal extracts were still able to kill off more than half the population of cancer cells within 3-5 days, depending on the type of cancer.

The implications of these test results are staggering. This means that when taken in its undiluted form and on a daily basis for a period of time, the herbal concoction will surely rid the body of cancer. And since these herbal extracts have an almost zero toxicity level, it can be taken liberally without damaging the rest of the body; thus making it the better and safer alternative to an operation, chemotherapy and radiation.

It also means that cancer survivors now have a non-toxic daily maintenance drink that can greatly prevent any future recurrence of cancer.

A Filipino Herbal Scientist, ANTONIO R. AGUSTIN, has discovered a coconut based dietary drink supplements that are highly potent, safe and an effective cure for cancer. According to him, he was able to prove that the Boston-C Herbal Supplements are really effective in combating stage IV cancer diseases when simultaneously used with chemotherapy, cobalt or radiation therapy.

Whereas, ninety percent (90%) of tumors disappeared in just 10 days of accelerated treatment. This involves administering intravenously Boston-C herbs special solution to terminally ill patients under the administration and supervision of a physician. Tumors of any size could disappear completely even before the treatment is over; provided that the total treatment is observed properly to the letter.

Through the years, the BOSTON-C Herbal Supplements have also been able to heal Prostrate, Bone and Brain cancers, Bronchial Asthma, Cirrhosis of the Liver, Diabetes Mellitus, Edema, Sinusitis, Emphysema, Hemorrhoid, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Viral, Bacterial Infection, and Psoriasis; as well as hasten the recovery of people who have suffered from a stroke and rehabilitate the kidneys of those undergoing dialysis.

Means:

A building (often of little or no value to the proprietor) constructed with the sole purpose of harassing or inconveniencing his neighbor in some way.

Remember when we told you about the crazy neighbor who built a 16-foot-high wall just to annoy the person living next to him? That's an example of a "Neidbau," a word that in German represents a very special and intense flavor of dickbaggery so potent it comes at the expense of the dickbag. It translates to "envy building," and, honestly, if a guy constructs an entire building just to say "Screw you," how can you not be flattered by that?

Apparently this happens so frequently that the Germans not only made a word for it, they actually had to create laws against it. After all, even among neighbors who can't sink a half million bucks into pissing off the guy next door who rehearses in his garage with a Creed cover band, they can still celebrate a much smaller, subtler form of Neidbau with smaller projects like fences. People do it all over suburbia -- neighbors will build "spite fences" just to rob the guy next door of his view of the sunset with a Brandenburg Gate of neighborly hate. Sometimes it's the simple pleasures in life that make it all worthwhile. -- http://www.cracked.com/

Official Statement of Dan Palami on the Incident Report Filed by Match Commissioner Cristy Ramos

March 2, 2012 - I would like to reassure Commissioner Cristy Ramos that the PFF and I take these allegations seriously. We will promptly investigate this incident. In fact, we already met with Commissioner Ramos today to discuss the incident report she filed. For this reason, I postponed my scheduled trip to Nepal.

It is unfortunate that we learned about this first from media sources.  In my brief conversation with Commissioner Ramos after the match, we exchanged pleasantries and there was no mention of the incident that transpired. As I told her in our meeting today, I would have addressed the issue right then.

Since the players have already left the country for the AFC tournament, a dialogue between them and Commissioner Ramos is not possible at the moment.

Nonetheless, we will not put off the investigation even as we prepare for a major tournament. I will sit down with my players and staff and get to the bottom of this.

In my personal experience of the usual goings-on in the men’s locker room, the tension, excitement and nervous energy before a match often result in a lot of boisterous bantering.  For someone who walks into this situation, this might appear as bordering on disrespect. But again, I am speaking only from my personal experience. I was not witness to the particular incident which is the subject of the incident report. Until I hear from all sides, I cannot comment substantially on the matter.

Like Commissioner Ramos, I also believe that sexual harassment should not be tolerated in any situation. I will look into the circumstances of this alleged incident and cooperate with any investigation. If it is proven that there was in fact malicious intent, I will make sure that proper sanctions are meted out.

On behalf of the team, I sincerely apologize to Commissioner Ramos for the distress this situation has caused her.

Complaint of Ms. CRISTY RAMOS vs 2 AZKALS

ATTN: AFC DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE (Mr LIM KIA TONG, Chairman)

RE: SEXUAL HARASSMENT COMPLAINT AGAINST PHILIPPINE MEN'S TEAM PLAYERS LEXTON MOY AND ANGEL GUIRADO (PHILIPPINES VS MALAYSIA, 29 FEB 2012, MANILA, PHILIPPINES)

Dear Mr Lim:

This to file a formal complaint against Messrs LEXTON MOY (no. 25) and ANGEL GUIRADO (no. 12) of the Philippine men's national football team, for SEXUAL HARASSMENT during the team check for the friendly match between the Philippines and Malaysia (both "A" teams) on 29 February 2012, 1900H, at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium, Manila, Philippines.

During the Team Managers' Meeting on 28 February 2012 at the Discovery Suites in Pasig City, Philippines, I mentioned to the representatives of both the Philippine team and the Malaysian team that I would be serving as the Match Commissioner for their match. As stated in the AFC's regulations and Official Countdown, the Match Commissioner together with the Fourth Official check the teams before the match to verify their identification (accreditation) cards and ensure that their kits are in proper order. However, being a woman Match Commissioner doing a men's match, I had to explain that I would give the teams sufficient warning and preparation time before I would come inside their changing rooms to do the team check together with the Fourth Official, Mr Wilfredo Bermejo.

Whenever I serve as the Match Commissioner, I always follow a standard procedure for the team check regardless of the type of match. At the time of the check I initially knock loudly at the door of the changing room as a sign of courtesy and warning to the team, and then let the Fourth Official first enter the changing room to check if the players are ready before I finally enter the room. Before doing the check itself, I properly introduce myself as the Match Commissioner and also introduce the Fourth Official. I also explain the procedure of how the check

will be done. I always tell the players that I will be checking their accreditation cards first then their jerseys, and that the Fourth Official will thereafter check the rest of their kits and other items, e.g., jewellery, hair accessories, fingernails etc. I also tell them the sequence of the check, i.e., I check the starting 11 players first then proceed with the substitutes.

At the appointed time (1745H) on match day, I came to the changing room of the Philippine team for the team check. I was accompanied by Fourth Official Wilfredo Bermejo and my liaison officer, Mr Joseph Gensaya. I initially knocked loudly at the door to signal my arrival. A team official opened the door and said that the team would be ready in five (5) minutes. We then waited for five minutes presuming that the team was getting ready for the team check. When we entered the changing room of the Philippine team, I properly introduced ourselves and explained the procedure for the check. In spite of the introduction the players remained rowdy and noisy, apparently not taking the team check seriously and almost ignoring our presence. As I called the players individually so that we could check their accreditation cards and kits, Philippine player LEXTON MOY (no. 25) stood by my right side and said in a loud voice "Must be a B cup," to which the players laughed loudly. As I was the only female in the room, he was apparently referring to my bra size. He could not have been talking about men's athletic cups, as their sizes are specified as extra-small, small, medium, large, and extra-large vis-a-vis cup sizes of women's brassieres, which are specified in letters. Additionally when I checked Philippine player ANGEL GUIRADO (no. 12) he stood in front of me purposely just wearing his briefs and made no attempts to wear shorts or cover his underwear. Again, the players loudly laughed while I was checking this player.

While all this was happening, none of the Philippine team officials present nor the team captain, JAMES JOSEPH YOUNGHUSBAND (no. 7), made any attempts to discipline the players and tell them to behave properly. In fact they were also laughing and seemed to be enjoying the revelry at my expense. Philippine Team Manager DAN STEPHEN PALAMI and Philippine Head Coach HANS MICHAEL WEISS were both not present in the changing room at the time of the team check.

Having been a Match Commissioner for girls', women's, boys' and men's matches since 2003 at both AFC and FIFA levels, I have not experienced this crude and totally shameful behaviour from a national team anywhere before this incident. I truly regret and feel very ashamed that this disrespect comes from the national team of my country, the Philippines. This kind of sexist and demeaning behaviour has no place in football, and should therefore be sanctioned.

Sincerely,

Cristina RAMOS

“On behalf of the team, I sincerely apologize to Commissioner Ramos for the distress this situation has caused her,” Palami said in a statement.

He, however, said the players were possibly having a pre-game banter to motivate themselves ahead of the game.

“In my personal experience of the usual goings-on in the men’s locker room, the tension, excitement and nervous energy before a match often result in a lot of boisterous bantering. For someone who walks into this situation, this might appear as bordering on disrespect. But again, I am speaking only from my personal experience,” said Palami.

Nevertheless, he said the Azkals management and the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) are already looking into the incident.

“Like Commissioner Ramos, I also believe that sexual harassment should not be tolerated in any situation. I will look into the circumstances of this alleged incident and cooperate with any investigation. If it is proven that there was in fact malicious intent, I will make sure that proper sanctions are meted out,” Palami said.

PFF President Mariano “Nonong” Araneta said the federation will follow whatever decision AFC Disciplinary Committee issues.

“The process is they will invite the players concerned, ask for their side, then issue a ruling,” said Araneta. “The ruling then will be immediately enforced by the federation.”

“Whatever the ruling is, the aggrieved party can appeal their case to the appeals committee. If they are not satisfied, they may bring their case to the Court of Arbitration for Sports,” explained the PFF chief.

The ruling could affect the Azkals' campaign in the upcoming 2012 AFC Challenge in Nepal.

The team left for Kathmandu on Friday to begin their acclimatization process ahead of the tournament. -- http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) â€" Former Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) President Cristy Ramos lodged a sexual harassment complaint against Azkals players Lexton Moy and Angel Guirado over an incident that took place last Wednesday.

In a complaint filed with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Disciplinary Committee, Ramos said the episode happened shortly before the international friendly game between the Philippine Azkals and the Malayan Tigers where she served as the match commissioner.

"As I called the players individually so that we could check their accreditation cards and kits, Philippine player LEXTON MOY (no. 25) stood by my right side and said in a loud voice “Must be a B cup,” to which the players laughed loudly. As I was the only female in the room, he was apparently referring to my bra size,” said Ramos in the letter addressed to AFC Disciplinary Chair Lim Kia Tong.

“Additionally when I checked Philippine player ANGEL GUIRADO (no. 12) he stood in front of me purposely just wearing his briefs and made no attempts to wear shorts or cover his underwear. Again, the players loudly laughed while I was checking this player,” she added.

Ramos, daughter of former President Fidel V. Ramos, said the incident took place while she was conducting a pre-match inspection.

She added that team manager Dan Palami and Azkals coach Hans Michael Weiss were not present at that time.

Palami has apologized on behalf of the team.
