I agree with Pareng Bambi about the finity of life.

For me, one passion that I have in life that has played a substantial role in motivating me is the virtue of Learning. Learning, not only increases one's broader understanding of the world, but also of their local and immediate surroundings. Ranging from health tid-bits, to research work, to flowers and gardening, to cooking and recipes to even the 'secrets' of women, lol.

There are multiple paths to 'Learning'; it can range in a healthy-education discussion with one's fellows, reading a book, reading an article/journal, enrolling in class, etc.

From the way I look at things, all our strengths and faculties are graces and gifts that Loving Providence, All Glory and Praise Are His, has given and endowed all of us. Our limitations, are his tests.

To learn is to understand, and to understand, why that is the basic pillar in how to live. To live responsibly, with resiliency.

Yours,

I always include my beloved Lola Nating (the mother of my Mommy) and my beloved Mama Luz (the mother of my Dad) in my rosary prayers. I always include them and never forget them because they have a special role in my life when I was a child in the Philippines.

Whenever I think of my early childhood in the Philippines, it is always synonymous with memories and thoughts of Mama Luz, Lola Nating, Lolo Ciano, and my uncles and aunts and cousins.

Talking about this reminds me of something beautiful,

During this July 2008, my friends from college came to visit me and my sister and we went to my Uncle Steve's and Auntie Beth's place to have dinner one day. During the conversation there, my Uncle Steve and Auntie Beth took out pictures of Philippines during 1995 time. And Uncle Steve gave me the albums to look around; my friends were all in discussion and etc. But when I opened the albums I saw pictures of my Mama Luz.

The pictures were of her during March and April time period; which was 3-4 months before she died in July 1995. But in the pictures she was so happy, full of smile. In the pictures I could see her beautiful brown eyes, and see her beautiful red cheeks, and I can see her beautiful Leytena beauty. I just remember tears falling down my face in seeing her. Seeing her face in the pictures flooded my mind with all the memories I had as a child and being around her. I can remember the time when I was crying so hard as a child and Mama Luz would hug me and pat my back to try to soften me to stop crying. I remember her combing my hair and making me sleep. Most of all I can still see the image of her in the dinner table with my little sister Angel sitting on Mama Luz's lap. And her feeding my sister ginamos and rice and the kinds of food that Mama Luz loved to eat. haha. Beautiful memories, kaayo.

Thank God for memories. To be able to reduce a 23 year old man like myself to tears. It's a beautiful gift.

Tribute to Orchids (Aya) / Weep No More

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. We live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

Virgie Blanco and I both have fond feelings for Spain and their culture. Whenever I posted pictures of Spanish cities, or of their dances, she would be the first to respond to my thread with some interesting fact that I never knew. One of those fascinating tid-bits that captures one's attention.

I plan to visit Mother Spain in the future. I'll look for orchids there.

(taken last year)

Physics Fun!

My professor wanted me to show my work; but why show work when you can solve a problem with a simpler equation? lol

Saves energy and saves chalk! :P

Btw, both equations are 100% correct, even if a professor decides to subtract 2 points from the simplified equation because it didn't 'show the work'. I argued with him that it made no sense to show 'work' when there was equation that simplified the longer form; thereby reducing the need to use the older form. Same concepts. It's the reason why the 'simplified' form was created in the first place.

He never gave me that 2 points, btw. Arg! lol.

She's a yellow pair of running shoes
A holey pair of jeans
She looks great in cheap sunglasses
She looks great in anything
She's I want a piece of chocolate
Take me to a movie
She's I can't find a thing to wear
Now and then she's moody

She's a Saturn with a sunroof
With her brown hair a-blowing
She's a soft place to land
And a good feeling knowing
She's a warm conversation
That I wouldn't miss for nothing
She's a fighter when she's mad
And she's a lover when she's loving

[Chorus]
And she's everything I ever wanted
And everything I need
I talk about her, I go on and on and on
'Cause she's everything to me

She's a Saturday out on the town
And a church girl on Sunday
She's a cross around her neck
And a cuss word 'cause its Monday
She's a bubble bath and candles
Baby come and kiss me
She's a one glass of wine
And she's feeling kinda tipsy

She's the giver I wish I could be
And the stealer of the covers
She's a picture in my wallet
Of my unborn children's mother
She's the hand that I'm holding
When I'm on my knees and praying
She's the answer to my prayer
And she's the song that I'm playing

[Repeat chorus]

She's the voice I love to hear
Someday when I'm ninety
She's that wooden rocking chair
I want rocking right beside me
Everyday that passes
I only love her more
Yeah, she's the one
That I'd lay down my own life for

And she's everything I ever wanted
And everything I need
She's everything to me
Yeah she's everything to me

Everything I ever wanted
And everything I need
She's everything to me

I am relaxing.

This past Friday I had my exams for Histology and Medical Embryology. This morning we had our exams for Gross Anatomy and Medical Legal Ethics.

I am relieved that I survived this past 2 weeks of constant studying. My life has been situated around the library and the student lounge. And coffee (pure black) has been a warm friend keeping me awake at night.

Some of the medical batch are planning to go out tomorrow night to celebrate our exams. I'm debating to go or not to go. First, I need to go to church. I admit that I haven't gone to church in the past 2-3 weeks because of studies; and I feel so bad about it. Especially when He has been there for me and strengthening me in my times of desperation and need. We shall see.

Tomorrow is a New Day.

Of course, 'te, I am taking Medical Ethics right now and know of the practical codes and am already doing hospital visitations and introduced so such cases.

We must, as medical students/physcians, be neutral to patients. We must listen to the patient and be sensitive to their cultural and religious standing. The patient has the right to accept or reject medical treatment; as it is in the basis of the autonomy of the patient (being that they are psychologically and physically competent).

Kaning patients that I have met already in our hospital; many of them just want to be heard. I've spent some time with some hospice-care patients and many of them are content and taking advantage of the family around them. One patient I talked to loved to talk, she's a really good person baya. Very warm and bogol-bogolon, made me and my fellows laugh. I see patients like her who are content of their terminal illness, then I've seen some patients who were moribund and was not at ease at all. But that is the reality jud, diba, 'te?

And they were right to pray, Ate Belle.

Prayer can never do any harm to a person, anything that invigorates one's soul and one's faith, can bring peace of mind to any person given his or her medical circumstance. Faith can do so much as help in the person's fighting of illness and invigorate them battle their disease and or given them solace to accept their terminal illness and to have peace with The Almighty.

When a person is sick, when an individual is suffering from a severe cold, a viral attack or infection, Providence has already given them the means to fight their condition.

As Our Lord God is an intelligent and brilliant God. He has given us, in his design of our body, lympathic systems which drains and collects deoxygenated blood, extracellular fluid, debris, as well as peroxisomes, lysosomes, leukocytes, plasma cells and antigen coding cells that target bacterial, and viral pathogens. Providence, by his intelligence and wisdom, has designed the creation of mast cells, which contain heparin and glucocorticoids, and upon infection will result in the release of cytotoxic material that will lead to vasodilatory/vasoconstrictory modules that will thereby force the cardiovascular system to pump oxygenated blood rich in white blood cells as well as macrophagic cells to fight of and secure the bacterium, virum in question. Because he knew that the release of heparin and cytotoxic chemicals of the mast cells will lead to the profuse action of the lymph nodes to drain out debris and dead/dirty matter to be excreted into the venous system: the greater sciatic vein; the femoral vein, the basilic vein, the cephalic vein, the median-cubital vein etc.

Providence, by his brilliance and unassailable intelligence has given man the ability to fight his or her own disease. Our bodies are given natural abilities to heal and treat itself. The presence of physicians and medicine is only there to augment the natural healing capacity/capability of our bodies, to which Providence has given us.

Prayer, can never be bad. Prayer, is actually good and can give a peace of mind to a sick individual. And provide him/her a spiritual rock that he/she can lean on as he/she fight his/her disease.

Ms. Da Binsi,

You are correct! No person has ever seen Jesus, even among the people believed to be the first Christians, they mentioned Christ in their writings but not Jesus. The people I am refering to were the Essenes. These are also the people mentioned by Josephus in his historical records as the people who wanted to separate away from Judaism. By the way, Josephus was a Jewish historian whose writings date back to the time of Jesus in the bible.

The Essenes were also the people who were waiting for the coming of Christ and the end of the world. In modern times they can be called as a doomsday cult.

The worship of statues were already practiced by the first Christians. The Greeks were amazed by the way the Jews practiced their religion because they worshipped only one God and without idols in their temple. During those times all other religions worshipped idols except Judaism. The Jews used to call them idolaters. In Greek mythology they worshipped their gods and godesses symbolized by idols and statues. When the Greeks started preaching Christianity they portrayed the statue of the apostles in Greek clothing and not in Jewish clothing.

When Constantine the Great the emperor of Rome was converted to Christianity he incorporated all religions into  the Roman Empire and the more the worship of idols and paganism was strengthened. The religion of Rome which is Mithraism was incorporated with Catholicism, which is why there are Catholic religious practices today that originated from pagan Rome. Modern teaching of the church today prohibits in the worship of idols. Even if the essence is not to worship idols the majority of the catholic faithful who are naive and ignorant of the teaching of the Church still cannot get rid of old habits of worshipping statues and idols.

Way Nada,

Historians and Theologians who have poured their resources in the analysis of the historiography of biblical history as well as contextual history agree that Constantine I, who you question gregariously, as being a direct contributing factor of the proliferation of the major Christian ideology that most of us have.

Christians believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who was sent to Earth from Heaven, was born of the Virgin Mary and became Man. He taught and preached his ministry until he was arrested by the Jews and condmned by the Romans, by request of the Jews and was crucified, was buried and rose on the third day. We, being Christians, believe that there was a resurrection of the Lord. Both in terms of the physical and spiritual.

This christian ideology that we have, that all christian denominations ranging from two original churches: The Roman Catholic Church or the Christian Orthodox Church, to major protestant denominations such as Methodism, Lutheranism, Baptism, Presbyterianism so on and so forth.

It is inarguable and manifest. It was Emperor Constantine I of Rome who called the First Council of Nicea, which was the first Ecumenical council of the (Roman Catholic) Christian Church, and most significantly resulted in the first uniform Christian doctrine, called the Nicene Creed.

The Nicene Creed being:

"We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen. "

With the creation of the creed, a precedent was established for subsequent general (ecumenical) councils of Bishops' (Synods) to create statements of belief and canons of doctrinal orthodoxyâ€" the intent being to define unity of beliefs for the whole of Christendom.

Before the First Nicean Council, there were different views on the nature of Jesus Christ in relation to The Father. In particular, whether Jesus was of the same substance as God the Father or merely of similar substance. The Council of Nicea also focused on the importance of the RESURRECTION of Christ Jesus.

To which, that very ideology, lives and beats its truth to many christian churches to this day.

Not many know that the Nicean Council was that of a ROMAN CATHOLIC ORIGIN, which was organized and called upon by the ROMAN EMPEROR CONSTANTINUS I. In measure, did, by right of history and christian message spreading to the 4 corners of the earth, was successful in bringing the message of Jesus Christ to nations and peoples who did not know of the grace and salvation that was offered for them, beforehand.

It is inarguably evident, Way Nada, that Constantine has played a magnanimous role in the proliferation of Christian ideology, to which we all share.

I submit to the fact that the rise of Constantine I correlated to the rise of Christianity AND Christendom itself and the beginning of the evangelization of the World. I submit to the fact that Constantine, by the Grace of Almighty Providence, was able to make such accomplishments in His Name. And I submit to the fact that The Lord God of Heaven and the Holy Spirit was alive and strong in the man that was Constantine I of Rome.

Amen!

The Roman Catholic Church is the direct line of the Early Christians in Rome, the very same ones who prayed in the catacombs, who celebrated Eucharist, the very same ones who passed on the stories of Christ and His Miracles that is written in scripture.

It is important to know that there is a logical reason for the presence of symbolism in the church fathers of the past. Naturally, when the disciples of Christ such as Peter went to Rome and preached the message of Christ, the majority of those who listened and converted were illiterate. Literacy in those times were rare; secured only for the elite aristocracy of Roman political life or military families.

The majority of Romans were illiterate. The way teachings and glorification of Christ and His Word was passed on to converts was by oratory means and by physically professing their faith. This is where Sacred Tradition comes in line and joins the milieu of Christian Scripture.

The traditions we see in Catholic Church are the same ones (identical) to the early christians who professed their faith in fear of death! Many early Catholics prayed and gathered in the catacombs to share the word of God; as it was the only way to practice their faith without getting caught.

It is the Catholic Christians who are mentioned to us who died as martyrs of Christ.
Devoured by lions, speared, burned alive, skinned alive, beheaded, mauled to death etc; but NEVER refusing to relinquish their faith in Christ!

The zealotry of our early Catholics! I pray that we Catholics could have the same zealotry of our brothers and sisters of the past. To battle the storms that come at us.

And to never loose our sight of Christ Jesus.

Constantine was over 40 when he finally declared himself a Christian, publically, to the dismay of his colleagues in the Senate and the Military (The majority of Romans were still PAGAN).

Writing to Christians, Constantine made clear that he owed his successes to the protection of that High God alone.

In a letter to the King of Persia, Constantine wrote how he shunned the "abominable blood and hateful odors" of pagan sacrifices, and instead worshiped the High God "on bended knee".

When he sat on the Roman Throne and in the new capital city he built, Constantine made sure that there were no pagan temples built.

During the course of his life he progressively became more Christian and turned away from any syncretic tendencies he appeared to favor at times and thus demonstrating, according to his biographers, that "The God of the Christians was indeed a jealous God who tolerated no other gods beside him. The Church could never acknowledge that she stood on the same plane with other religious bodies, she conquered for herself one domain after another"

According to the historian Ramsay MacMullen Constantine desired to obliterate non-Christians but lacking the means he had to be content with robbing their temples towards the end of his reign.
He resorted to derogatory and contemptuous comments relating to the old religion; writing of the "obstinacy" of the pagans, of their "misguided rites and ceremonial", and of their "temples of lying" contrasted with "the splendours of the home of truth".

I dare to say, WN, Constantine, in actuality was a VEHEMENT Christian. Given the time he was in and the means that he had. He did so much given the limitations.

That is why, Way Nada, it is supplemental for us to learn and read the bible in the original Hebrew, Greek, Latin and understand the transliteration of each. Ultimately, though, the main theme should not be lost in the processes of time and historical discourse that has happened throughout the past 2 millenias.

Sacred Scripture, either it be in the original Hebrew, Greek and Latin have the same theme and conceptus as in the English transliteration (as well as other lingual versions). Let us not loose the sight of that, shall we?

As for the matter concerning Emperor Constantine I of the Roman Empire, his conversion into Christianity and reasons for it are far more complex than what you provided. I've taken classes (in undergraduate college) on Roman History, as well as Christian History and I submit that it is one of a journey.

Emperor Constantine (Flavius Valerius Aurelius Constantinus) was influenced to Christianity even before his rise to the thrown of Emperorship. Rather, Constantine's own mother, Helena, was a christian convert, one of the few who practiced christianity in the catacombs of Rome for fear of being caught. Which was, then, punishable by death in the gladiatorial games. Christianity was already introduced to Constantine and one that played a role in his life since it eventually lead to his conversion. His own mother, Helena, made a special pilgrimage to the Holy Land to visit the site of Jesus' crucifixion.

Constantine's conversion to Christianity occured in the Battle of Milvian Bridge, where it is said that before the battle, Constantine had a dream of his victory against the Emperor Maxentius the Great. Both of whom were vying for the Imperial Throne. When both armies were rallied forth to begin the battle, Constantine was said to have been riding his horse and looked to the sky and saw Cross where the sun was at. And with it were the words in Latin "In Hoc Signo Vinces" which is translated to "By this, Conquer!"

In his glorious epiphany, Constantine ordered his legions to adorn their shields with the sign of the Chi-Ro, which, in Greek, means 'CHRIST'. {ΧΡΙΣΤΟΣ}

Roman legions went to war with their standards, and for centuries it was always the Roman Eagle that was adorned in battle. Many Roman generals and emperors such as Augustus, Tiberius, Caligula, Claudius, Hadrian, Diocletian etc went to war with the Roman Eagle as standard. Since the dawn of the Roman Republic, the Roman Eagle was fashioned to battle from the Punic Wars, the Greco Wars, the Thracian Wars, Parthian Wars, Gaulic Wars, Visigothian Wars, Slavic Wars etc.

However, Constantine not only did he order his legions to adorn the Chi-Ro on their shields, which is Greek for 'CHRIST', as I said before. He also ordered the removal of the Roman Eagle on their standard and had it replaced with the Christian Cross.

Suffice to say, Constantine's victory against Emperor Maxentius, who was a Pagan, is symbolism of Providence's own blessing. The WILL of Providence.

It is also important to know that the office of the Roman Emperor, as indicated by Augustus's Precepts some 3 centuries before the time of Constantine, made it mandatory to offer Divine praises to the Emperor and the Office of the Emperor. The cult of the Emperor, one can dare say. The coronation of an emperor and his rise to the seat of power included a speech to the Senatorium as well as required the newly-crowned emperor to offer sacrifices to the Pantheon of Deities. After the sacrifices were made, then could the newly-crowned emperor take the seat in the Imperial Palace.

Constantine was different compared to his predecessors. How was he different?

Following the Battle of Milvian Bridge, Constantine ignored the altars to the Roman gods prepared on the Capitoline to receive sacrifices appropriate for the celebration of his victorious entry into Rome, and the new emperor instead went straight to the imperial palace without performing any sacrifice. Constantine, unlike his predecessors, was rather insular and introverted and did not like it when Divine Praises were given to him by Senators, Generals, Plebeians, Priests etc. Normally, Roman Emperors of the past would have prided themselves in being referred to as Gods as well as many of them demanded the citizenry to offer sacrifice to their own divinity.

Constantine was different in that he rejected Divine praises on his persona. Additionally, upon taking the throne of Rome, his refusal and rejection of offering sacrifices to the Roman gods angered and alienated him amongst the members of the Senatorium and from many pagans in the city.

Constantine, upon his first year term as Emperor, passed the Edict of Milan. Which legalized the practice of christianity and ordered the return of all confiscated christian buildings, churches, relics and writings. All christians who were imprisoned because of their religion were released by the order of the Emperor himself.

Constantine's action made him target of multiple assassination attempts, and by the Grace of God, survived them.

Constantine's own legal reforms reflected his own Christian zealotry. Constantine's laws enforced and reflected his Christian reforms. Crucifixion was abolished for reasons of Christian piety, but was replaced with hanging, to show there was Roman law and justice. Sunday was declared the official day of rest, on which markets were banned and public offices were closed. Constantine also ordered the creation and proliferation of bibles throughout the Empire!

One can even dare say that he was an early Christian evangelist!

Lyrics to the Song

I am the bread of life
He who comes to Me shall not hunger
He who believes in Me shall not thirst
No one can come to Me
Unless the Father draw him

And I will raise him up
And I will raise him up
And I will raise him up on the last day

The bread that I will give
Is My flesh for the life of the world
And he who eats of this bread
He shall live for ever
He shall live for ever

Unless you eat
Of the flesh of the Son of Man
And drink of His blood
And drink of His blood
You shall not have life within you

I am the resurrection
I am the life
He who believes in Me
Even if he die
He shall live for ever

Yes, Lord, we believe
That You are the Christ
The Son of God
Who has come
Into the world

So Jesus said to them, "Amen, amen, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave the bread from heaven; my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world." Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst. But I told you that although you have seen (me), you do not believe. Everything that the Father gives me will come to me, and I will not reject anyone who comes to me, because I came down from heaven not to do my own will but the will of the one who sent me. And this is the will of the one who sent me, that I should not lose anything of what he gave me, but that I should raise it (on) the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him (on) the last day."

I want Dodong Insoy's opinion to this being a spiritual medical student...

There is only the power of Lord Jesus Christ, God Blessed Forever.
Have faith in your own power and your own will! Which the LORD has given us, all of us. Ingoon ang Ginoo nato; knock and it shall be opened to you, seek and you shall find, ask it it will be given to you.

Ang meaning ani is: Self Discipline and Maturity! If you are sick, ask medical advice from a physician. If you are in legal problems, ask the advice of an attorney. If you have spiritual woes, read scripture or attend mass/church to soften and elate your battered souls!

That is my view on this matter. I will not judge Fr. Suarez because I have not met the man and I submit the fact that the Lord God in Heaven does work in mysterious ways. So long as the heavens are above the earth, so long as the rain continues to fall to the earth and so long as wheat are gathered and sown, and so long as the bread is offered to all, His ways are above our ways.

Again, I want to make it known that Jesus Christ, Lord God who is Blessed Forever, The Word Incarnate, reiterates and calls the Temple and Religious Center as the 'My Father's House'. You can see this in Luke 2.

As all churches, be they Roman Catholic, Conservative Orthodox, Coptic, Anglican, Lutheran, Baptist, Presbyterian, Methodist are the Houses of God.

Good Morning to Everyone, May the Love of Christ continue to flourish in our hearts,

Dear Ray,

There is something wrong in your rhetoric, which is rather condemning of many people and the manner of spiritual worship. It is an unhealthy view, Ray, to be hold such condemnatory view point. Especially when that particular theology has been the very basis and footstool of biblical discourse throughout the past millennium.

I recommend you, Ray, to read Proverbs 2: The Blessing of Wisdom . A healthy understanding of history and religious discourse increases one's understanding and the grace of understanding is a gift of the Holy Spirit, my dear friend.

As did not our Savior, Christ Jesus go unto the Temple and discuss with the priests and learned men on religious theology?

Sacred Scripture declares:

When Joseph and Mary had done everything required by the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own town of Nazareth. And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him.Every year his parents went to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Passover. When he was twelve years old, they went up to the Feast, according to the custom. After the Feast was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it. Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him. After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, "Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you."
"Why were you searching for me?" he asked. "Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?" But they did not understand what he was saying to them. Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart. And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

--Luke 2:39-52

Ray,

Additionally, no where does the Lord Jesus Christ condemns the worship of His name and the glories of His Father. In actuality, the Lord Jesus Christ, when confronted about the news of people driving demons away from people in HIS Name, the Lord Jesus Christ accepted it and glorified them and their acts.

Sacred Scripture declares:

Then he sat down, called the Twelve, and said to them, "If anyone wishes to be first, he shall be the last of all and the servant of all." Taking a child he placed it in their midst, and putting his arms around it he said to them, " Whoever receives one child such as this in my name, receives me; and whoever receives me, receives not me but the one who sent me."
John said to him, "Teacher, we saw someone driving out demons in your name, and we tried to prevent him because he does not follow us." Jesus replied, "Do not prevent him. There is no one who performs a mighty deed in my name who can at the same time speak ill of me.

For whoever is not against us is for us.

--Mark 9: 36-40

Christ Jesus, God Blessed Forever, personally rectifies the works of those who glorify HIS name and call upon HIS name. Had the Lord Jesus Christ not, then he would have made it known by rebuking those who did works in His name. Am I right? The Lord accepted it. And reiterated the powerful and loving phrase of "For whoever is not against us is for us."

The teachings and participation of Catholics, Orthodox, Anglicans, Protestants in church activity have the ultimate goal in glorifying the Lord and His Father in Heaven.

And ultimately, brother Ray, you need to keep your mind on that main picture.

Amen I say to you and all of you my beloved brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus!

---
Judge not, that ye be not judged.

For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

It really doesn't matter what kinds of food the mother eats; so long as she eats a high protein diet since most of the nutritional intake the embryo gets is from the blood of the mother that provides the nutrition for the embryo during the 1st to 3rd week phase.

After the viability of the fetus, the formation of the placental sac, the umbilical cord etc; the energy that the fetus gets is primarily glycogen, glycosaminglcans. Either you eat carrots, beef, chicken, pork, fish, rice etc; these food content will be broken down by the digestive system of the mother, which then utilizes the stereocillia to absorb and covert the foods into molecular processes in the form of glycogen, sugars where it is stored in adipose tissue (fat cells).

The embryo/fetus is fed through the umbilical cord only glycogens and protein fats. All are broken down simplified molecular processes.

#43236
The most important time of pregnancy is the 2nd to 3rd week as this is the time where the primordial cardiovascular system is developed; and the embryo is most viable since the mother probably doesn't know she is pregnant yet by the 2nd week.

It is important to evade in taking in any tetrogens (smoking, alcohol, drugs etc) as during this time period the syncytiotrophoblast that connects the embryo to the endometrial wall is directly fusing with the embryo and there is a direct blood flow from mother to embryo.

Thus, any alcoholic drinks, smoke, drugs (thalidomide, barbituates etc) will enter directly to the embryo as well.

And even post-1st trimester, the embryo is still susceptible to tetragens as the embryo's liver is only 4% active as compared to the mother; hence there is a direct link between the maternal liver-and embryonic placenta.

Tetrogenic intake can lead to IUGR of the fetus. IUGR = Intra uterine growth retardation.

This can lead to chromosomal abnormality, growth retardation, physical and mental degeneracy.

Anonymous Diary Blog / Providence and his ways
September 26, 2008, 05:26:14 AM
I submit that life begins not in birth, but upon conception; during the invagination of the oovum by the sperm and the conception of human life. The birth of humanity.

In the womb of woman, the embryo will invaginate into the endometrial wall and grow from 1st week to 8th week as an embryo; after the 8th week till birth it is a fetus.

By the will of Providence he commands the formation of the upper limbs, the lower limbs, the growth of hair follicles, by his divine and brilliant architecture he has deigned it mandate for the heart to form by the end of the 3rd week and to begin pumping by th 5th week. With it the primordial cardiovascular system has been created.

By his majesty and unfathomable brilliance has he ordered the lungs to form by the 24th week (the beginning of the 3rd trimester) and the development of the sulfactant enzymes to develop the alveoli.

It is in his design that the child inside the woman's womb breath and start to breath; the kicking reflex to prepare for post-intrauterine life. He has willed that the baby start to suck his/her thumb by the ending of the 6th month to prepare for the suckling of his/her mother's milk.

Providence has designed it so that the child is in breach formation to exit the woman's womb and to enter life.

As Divine Providence has designed the child inside the womb, and willed the exact times of the development of organs, limbs, everything. So has Divine Providence set in order a time for all the allotted to return to HIM. We all die, the only difference is the manner of our death as well as the time of our death. To which, Only Providence knows when it shall be.

I hope the days come easy and the moments pass slow,
And each road leads you where you wanna go,
And if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose,
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.
And if one door opens to another door closed,
I hope you keep on walkin' till you find the window,
If it's cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile.
But more than anything, more than anything...

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

I hope you never look back, but you never forget,
All the ones who love you, in the place you left,
I hope you always forgive, and you never regret,
And you help somebody every chance you get,
Oh, you find God's grace, in every mistake,
And always give more than you take.
But more than anything, yeah, more than anything...

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,

Peace be with all you my brothers and sisters and peace be unto all your troubled hearts. Brother Mike, you, personally, are in my prayers. I pray that our Loving and Merciful Father invigorates with you you your faith and lifts up your sorrows, Michael.

Find strength in the Lord, Michael. As your namesake. Named after the Great Archangel of the Lord, whose very name means, "WHO IS LIKE GOD?"

Michael, my dear friend, my grieving friend, precious friend,
We are here with you, and we share the loss and pain that is in you. Know that you are not alone, Michael. I cry with you, my brother. I lament with you. And I pray with you.

Be comforted, igsoon nako. As our sister, Aya, is in a place that cannot be compared to the lavishes and palaces here on earth. For hers is salvation and union with the Almighty, I pray.

I want to share with you, Michael this verse in scripture that I found today as I searched scripture for some solace in this extremely sad times;

1 Peter 1:3-9
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith the salvation of your souls.

Mike, I understand your pains, Mike. As I still remember last year when you were bereaved by the passing of your dear Papa. We were all with you in your pains, Igsoon. And Ma'am Orchids was one who lead our prayers for you in here. I grieve with you, dear Michael.

We have lost a good and kind friend, a beautiful angel and a loving mother.

I went to sleep last night with tears on my face.

Let's all think positive, okay? Because the Ms. Orchids that I knew was always the one that looked forward, who comforted in time of trouble but reminded us to 'move forward'.

Ma'am Orchids is no longer here. Her memories have been wiped away. All pains, pleasures and memories are erased. For she has awakened into the ever after. In whose company she knows no pain, suffering or memory of her mortal life. She sings with all the angels and saints in Heaven the Glory of Our Loving God.

Christ Have Mercy.

Lord, those who die, Ms. Aya, still live in Your presence,
their lives change but do not end.
I pray in hope for my family,

In company with Christ,
Who died and now lives,
may they rejoice in Your kingdom,
where all our tears are wiped away.
Unite us together again in one family,
to sing Your praise forever and ever.

Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ, have mercy on us.
Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ, hear us. Christ graciously hear us.
God, the Father of heaven,

God, the Holy Ghost,
Have mercy on us.
Holy Trinity, one God,
Have mercy on us.
Thou Who art Infinite Love,
Have mercy on us.
Thou Who didst first love me,
Have mercy on us.
Thou Who commandest me to love Thee,
Have mercy on us.

With all my heart,
I Love Thee, O My God
With all my soul,
I Love Thee, O My God
With all my mind,
I Love Thee, O My God
With all my strength,
I Love Thee, O My God
Above all possessions and honors,
I Love Thee, O My God
Above all pleasures and enjoyments,
I Love Thee, O My God
More than myself, and everything belonging to me,
I Love Thee, O My God
More than all my relatives and friends,
I Love Thee, O My God
More than all men and angels,
I Love Thee, O My God
Above all created things in heaven or on earth,
I Love Thee, O My God
Only for Thyself,
I Love Thee, O My God
Because Thou art the sovereign Good,
I Love Thee, O My God
Because Thou art infinitely worthy of being loved,
I Love Thee, O My God
Because Thou art infinitely perfect,
I Love Thee, O My God
Even hadst Thou not promised me heaven,
I Love Thee, O My God
Even hadst Thou not menaced me with hell,
I Love Thee, O My God
Even shouldst Thou try me by want and misfortune,
I Love Thee, O My God
In wealth and in poverty,
I Love Thee, O My God
In prosperity and in adversity,
I Love Thee, O My God
In health and in sickness,
I Love Thee, O My God
In life and in death,
I Love Thee, O My God
In time and in eternity,
I Love Thee, O My God
In union with that love wherewith all the saints and all the angels love Thee in heaven,
I Love Thee, O My God
In union with that love wherewith the Blessed Virgin Mary loveth Thee,
I Love Thee, O My God
In union with that infinite love wherewith Thou lovest Thyself eternally,
I Love Thee, O My God

My God, Who dost possess in incomprehensible abundance all that is perfect and worthy of love, annihilate in me all guilty, sensual, and undue love for creatures. Kindle in my heart the pure fire of Thy love, so that I may love nothing but Thee or in Thee, until being so entirely consumed by holy love of Thee, I may go to love Thee eternally with the elect in heaven, the country of pure love. Tribute to Orchids (Aya) / To Ms. Orchids
September 25, 2008, 05:17:12 PM
Dear Ms. Orchids,

From the many conversations that we have had in here, for over a year now, I've gotten to know you as a very good and kind friend. I will forever miss how you call me 'Enzo' and will miss your pictures of Japan, of your beautiful farm, your beautiful family and the environment that you so loved.

My heart plummeted when I found out the bad news today, I cannot understand how you could have left. Because you are and were the constant in this site. When the forum was busy, you were there, when the forum was quiet, you were there.

My heart hurts so much to accept that you will no longer post here, Ma'am. And I will always cherish the conversations that we had and the laughter that you gave to everyone in here as well as to your family.

You are a model for all mothers. And a model for all friends. Forgiving and Loving.

I want to share this verse from scripture, Ma'am.

"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord"
(Romans 8:38,39)

Peace be with you, Ma'am.

Your Friend,
Always,
Bran Lorenzo

((big embrace to Ate Ging))

She was such a good person, 'te Ging. And a wonderful mother, and lover of Christ. For reasons that is beyond my understanding and our understanding, she was called back to the Kingdom of God.

Let us not cry anymore for Ma'am Orchids, for where she is now, she is in eternal bliss with the Almighty Father in Heaven.

In whose company she will forever be GLAD and HAPPY. With all the choirs of angels and saints in Heaven, Ms. Orchids sings the unending praise of our Lord God in Heaven.

Cry not for her, for she has seen the face of God.

From which all GOOD things come from.

Love,
Bran

The Lyrics

Everytime I hear this song now, It will always remind me of You.

Be at peace, Ma'am.

Be at peace, and go in peace.

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters.

He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows.

Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

A teenage girls´pregnancy is a form of juvenile delinquency!

Teenage pregnancy here in the United States is due to the cultural trend here to the sexuality and sexual life style of Americans in general.

The United States, not only is addicted to energy consumption, but has a very healthy and voracious appetite on all things. Sex, included.

The Sex Education here in the 'states is already failed system since they are teaching abstinence. We were taught of abstinence when I was in high school and I know many of my fellow high school fellows who indulged themselves.

What they need to focus more in Sex Education is the use of contraceptives. There is no denying the sexual acts occurring throughout the United States. Address the problem head on and logically.

Just my view.

Reading this, it's a recent problem, but if you think about it in a genetic and populatory analytical point; one needs to understand that the West is experiencing a considerable drop in population growth rate. Case in point, Western Europe.

The United States, as a developed and leading nation, is the only nation that is immune from the 'pseudo-sterility' of being a well developed nation.

As a nation of over 305 Million people and a growing demographic factor, it's only natural. The United States needs more babies to fuel and supplement our work force in the future. And to secure and augment the American cause for this century and beyond.

We Americans must make sure to propagate and keep USA # 1

Agree on you brod.  For me, it is not the images I worship but the Lord.  About Mother Mary and the saints, it is not them I prayed, but I just asked their help to help me pray to the Lord to hear my prayers.  Especially Mother Mary coz she is the most faithful to the Lord.

And you are correct, Sister.

When we ask for consolation and pray for the Blessed Mary to pray for us, it is in lieu with sacred scripture.

As it is said,

"My soul proclaims the greatness of the LORD,
my spirit rejoices in GOD my saviour.
For he has looked upon this handmaid's lowliness;
behold, from now on will ages call me Blessed. "

--Luke 1: 46-47

And she is Blessed, who was chosen out of all the women because of her Holiness and because of her faith in the Lord. To bear in her womb, the Lord God. When Jesus Christ was a baby, he was protected and fed by Blessed Mary. And even in his ministries and unto His death, His mother, Blessed Mary, was there with him even unto the very end.

Thus, it is reiterated in prayer:

Hail Mary!
Full of Grace!
Blessed are you amongst women!
And Blessed is the Fruit of thy own womb, Jesus!

Holy Mary!
Mother of God!
Pray for US, Sinners
Now, and at the hour of OUR death.

AMEN

And in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God into a city of Galilee, called Nazareth,
To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
And the angel being come in, said unto her: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

Who having heard, was troubled at his saying, and thought with herself what manner of salutation this should be.
And the angel said to her: Fear not, Mary, for thou hast found grace with God.
Behold thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and shalt bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name Jesus.
He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the most High; and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of David his father; and he shall reign in the house of Jacob for ever.
And of his kingdom there shall be no end.
And Mary said to the angel: How shall this be done, because I know not man?
And the angel answering, said to her: The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the most High shall overshadow thee.
And therefore also the Holy which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Bible Study / Salvation is NOT based on faith alone
September 23, 2008, 09:28:46 AM
Salvation through Good Works as well as Faith

What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds."Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.

You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe thatâ€"and shudder.

You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness," and he was called God's friend. You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.

In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

As logical as you imply, there are many ways of killing a cat. Point being! you are all arguing about  translation differences.
God will not judge us by our imperfection, but by faith in Jesus, therefore, get rid of that statue, read the bible yourself and prrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaayyy to find your conviction..and the presence of the holy spirit in your heart. God is spirit, and is worship in spirit...oh did i hang myself?
This would be the same issue of - Should priest marry or not? find GOd thru prayers and mediation of His word" the bible", then all of us will find peace and fulfillment in our faith.

Amen, Brother.

Sacred Scripture in lieu with Sacred Tradition, gives one a better understanding.

Kita tanan mga tawo naa daghang sala. Walay yamo tawo diri sa yuta nang wa yamo ug sala. Tanan, kita tanan.

But all, despite our imperfections, faults and sins, are offeredthe promises of Christ. It depends on the individual to accept His grace into our own life.

To you my brothers and sisters,
Catholics, Protestants, Orthodox etc,

Do not harken to the words of people. Do not let the words of people reduce your own faith and dimmer your path toward Christ Jesus.

Pray and continue to PRAY in the spirit and in the manner of which PROVIDENCE has chosen for you. And called you.

Mind not the words of men. As man does not judge your eternal soul in the end. It is in the NAME OF ALMIGHTY GOD who calls us to His Son, Christ Jesus.

Peace be with all of you.

Bible Study / Re: The Miracles of Divine Providence
September 23, 2008, 09:01:59 AM
By the grace of Divine Providence,
the heart of man is formed.

Let me explain to all of you the marvelous brilliance of Providence in his architectural design of man's heart:

Blood vessels first appear int he wall of the yolk sac, allantois and chorion. They develop within the embryo shortly thereafter. Spaces appear within aggregation of mesenchyme, known as blood islands.

The spaces soon become lined with endothelium derived from the mesenchymal cells. These primordial tubules sprout and unite with other vessels to form a primordial cardiovascular system. Toward the end of the third week, the heart is represented by paired endocardial heart tubes that are joined to blood vessels in the embryo and in the extraembryonic membranes (yolk sac, umbilical cord, and chorionic sac.)

By the end of the third week, the heart tubes have fused to form a tubular heart that is joined to vessels in the embryo, yolk sac, chorion, and connecting stalk to form the primordial cardiovascular system.

The primordial blood cells--hemangioblasts--are derived from mainly from endothelial cells of blood vessels in the walls of the yolk sac and allantois.

By the end of the third week, the heart forms and upon its complete formation; it immediately starts to pump blood and circulates the fetal blood. It has been designed that by the end of the third week, all fetal hearts will pump and it remains active and pumping non-stop. It continues to pump after the fetus exits the mother's uterus, continues to pump when the child grows to adult size, and continues to pump until death.

Isn't it so wondrous how PROVIDENCE designed our heart? That he so willed it to pump by the 3rd week of life! 3 weeks after conception, the embryo already pumps blood.

LORD, MY MIGHTY AND BRILLIANT GOD,
On my knees I fall.

LORD, MY MERCIFUL GOD,
As I study your works in embryology, histology, anatomy,
ma kujawan man ko intawn, GINOO, sa imung brilliance, sa imung MAJESTY in your designs, LORD!

GINOO KO,
Ikaw man ang na design namo tanan, Ikaw man ang editor, ang columnist, ang deliverer of all these constructs, LORD.

On my knees, LORD, I glorify THEE.

Early this morning as I was heading to class, i saw a momma duck leading her babies across the road. It brought a big smile to my face in seeing the momma duck go back to prod her little baby that was behind and was slow. After the momma duck bit the duckling's lubut, the duckling quickened its pace and joined the rest of the ducklings.

And after that, the momma went back to the front and guided them across the street.

Thank God for the mothers we have. Thank God for making all the mothers in the world.

My patron saint, St. Gabriel the Archangel will be having his feast day on the 29th of September.
He is my confirmation patron, as I was confirmed into the Catholic Church on March of 2007 under His blessings and His Mighty King, The Lord God of Heaven.

Blessed and Merciful Gabriel, Archangel of the Lord, Pray for Us!

Saint Gabriel the Archangel, I venerate you as the Angel of the Incarnation, because God specially appointed you to bear the messages concerning the God-Man to Daniel, Zechariah, and the Blessed Virgin Mary. Give me a very tender and devoted love for the Incarnate Word and his Blessed Mother more like your own. I venerate you also as the "Strength from God" because you are the giver of God's strength, consoler and comforter chosen to strengthen God's faithful and teach them important truths. I ask for the grace of a special power of the will to strive for holiness of life.

Steady my resolutions; renew my courage; comfort and console me in the problems, trials and sufferings of daily living, as you consoled our Savior in his agony and Mary in her sorrows and Joseph in his trials. I put my confidence in you. To walk with me in my way towards the direction of Christ Jesus. Through your earnest love for the Son of God made man and for his Blessed Mother I beg of you, intercede for me that my request may be granted, if it be God's holy will. Pray for us, Saint Gabriel the Archangel, that we may be worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen.

Friday was spent in the study lounge from 3pm till 11 pm reviewing with people.
Saturday was spent from 9am till 3pm reviewing.
Today, which is supposed to be a day of rest, will be spent in light reviews. And then hardcore review later this afternoon--as I am meeting up with Korosh later in the study lounge.

Any break time i get is like a relief sent from Heaven.

To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

They answered him, "We are Abraham's descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?"

Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. I know you are Abraham's descendants. Yet you are ready to kill me, because you have no room for my word. I am telling you what I have seen in the Father's presence, and you do what you have heard from your father.

"Abraham is our father," they answered.

"If you were Abraham's children," said Jesus, "then you would do the things Abraham did. 40As it is, you are determined to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham did not do such things. You are doing the things your own father does." "We are not illegitimate children," they protested. "The only Father we have is God himself."

Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me. Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don't you believe me? He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God."

The Jews answered him, "Aren't we right in saying that you are a Samaritan and demon-possessed?"

"I am not possessed by a demon," said Jesus, "but I honor my Father and you dishonor me. I am not seeking glory for myself; but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge. I tell you the truth, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death."

At this the Jews exclaimed, "Now we know that you are demon-possessed! Abraham died and so did the prophets, yet you say that if anyone keeps your word, he will never taste death. Are you greater than our father Abraham? He died, and so did the prophets. Who do you think you are?"

Jesus replied, "If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me. Though you do not know him, I know him. If I said I did not, I would be a liar like you, but I do know him and keep his word. Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad."

"You are not yet fifty years old," the Jews said to him, "and you have seen Abraham!"

"I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I AM!"

The Calming of a Storm at Sea

One day He got into a boat with His disciples and said to them, "Let us cross to the other side of the lake." So they set sail and while they were sailing He fell asleep. A squall blew over the lake and they were taking in water and were in danger. They came and woke him saying, "Master, master, we are perishing!"

He awakened, rebuked the wind and the waves, and they subsided and there was a calm. Then He asked them, "Where is your faith?"

But they were filled with awe and amazed and said to one another, "Who then is this, who commands even the winds and the sea, and they obey Him?"

The Cleansing of the Leper

Now there was a man full of leprosy in one of the towns where he was; and when he saw Jesus, he fell prostrate, pleaded with him, and said, "Lord, if you wish, you can make me clean."

Jesus stretched out his hand, touched him, and said, "I do will it. Be made clean."And the leprosy left him immediately. Then he ordered him not to tell anyone, but "Go, show yourself to the pirest and offer for your cleansing what Moses prescribed; that will be proof for them."

The report about him spread all the more, and great crowds assembled to listen to him and to be cured of their ailments, but he would withdraw to deserted places to pray.
