(English Translation)

Long live Spain!
We sing together,
with different voices,
and only one heart.
Long live Spain!
From the green valleys,
to the immense sea,
a hymn of brotherhood.
Love the Fatherland,
which knows how to embrace,
below the blue sky,
people in freedom.
Glory to the sons,
who have given to history,
justice and greatness,
democracy and peace.

Marcha Espana Real

¡Viva España!
Cantemos todos juntos
con distinta voz
y un solo corazón.
¡Viva España!
Desde los verdes valles
al inmenso mar,
un himno e hermandad.
Ama a la Patria
pues sabe abrazar,
bajo su cielo azul,
pueblos en libertad.
Gloria a los hijos
que a la Historia dan
justicia y grandeza
democracia y paz.

Calle,

How can you work within a system that is flawed? By that argument, in itself, is obligatory to the corrupt fundamentals within the Philippine Government.

How can you work within a legal system, or within said parameters, when a local court magistrate can be bribed? How can you work within a system in which the pragmatics is outright? Dare I be called unpatriotic, nay, but merely giving you a macroscopic viewpoint of said political system. The rampancy of corruption is clearly manifested in that even small municipalities, even barrangays acquiesce to vote buying. Even in my own town of Valencia, that is the rule of the land.

Moreso in regards to the provincial, regional and national level.

Note, I am not a proponent of anarchy, but merely giving a neutralist and historically adept solution, a realistic one at that, to the question being asked by my former colleagues in this said thread.

Absolutely,
And in good Faith,

The entire political system in the Philippines is flawed. From local to the national level. Corruption has gone into the core; even into the barangay level.

Only through some kind of social revolution will one actually and TRULY change the political system.

Other than that, realistically speaking, the sins of the father will continue to pass down to the son (figuratively speaking). Corruption is passed down from generation to generation. It is a diasporic problem. To fix the system, you need to purify the entire system.

History has mandated that only through war, and a revolutionary struggle.

Precedent that follows said law:
1. French Revolution; Change of Absolutist Monarchy into a Federalist Republique
2. American Revolution: Change from Constitutional Monarchy without representation into a Federalist Republic

3. Bolshevik Revolution: Change from an Autocracy to a Soviet Republic

4. Parshal Revolution; Change of Turkey's Monarchy into a Secular Republic

5. World War II; The defeat of Japan led to the change from Imperial Military Government to a Constitutional Democratic Monarchy

6. World War I; Germany's defeat to the Allied Powers forced the abdication of King William of Germany, thus changing Germany from a Monarchy into a Republic.

7. Boxer's Rebellion; Removal of the Chinese Qing Dynasty from power, thereby extinquishing China's 4 millenias of Imperial Government. Rise of a modern republican form of government under the auspices of Sun Yat Sen.

etc.
#42607
Everyone believes that change is possible. The ultimate problem, calle, is the unseathing of the sword (figuratively speaking).

My suggestion is one that follows historical premise.

War; a social revolution.

Mr. Bean,

In Northern Pennsylvania, there are many lakes and winding rivers that cut through the state.

My favorite kayaking site was the Susquehanna River Basin. Which is in Northwestern Pennsylvania.

During my undergraduate college days, I would go kayaking with several friends and camp for the night. We did this in dearly December. The cold air awakened the soul and strengthened the bodies.

Loving Father,

All glories, All honors, All wisdom and All praise are yours. Now and Forever. Loving Father, in the times that I was placed in difficulties and in the trying moments, you were always there for me. Your love has given me the wisdom to speak and answer questions, your grace guides my hand in dissection, your understanding reminds me of my own consciousness when I offended someone.

I offer you this day a prayer and honor of the passionate fruits you have instilled in me and those who are in this field. As ours is not a path of easiness, not a path of proven ground, but one of high grass and ever changing pastures.

Loving Father, whom nothing is impossible, I merely ask, Lord, to understand what I do not understand, the acceptance of things that I cannot change, and the power and the drive to continue to do what is expected and what is trained in us. Grant me the ability to help my fellow man, to lift away their illnesses if mandated by your will, as your own Son, Christ Jesus, was able to heal and transfigure those who were in ill health.

In The Name of Your Son, Jesus Christ.
Lord and Savior.

Pardon my intervention,

But your proposal is naively idealistic. It will not work in any society.

The fall of communism, an egalitarianistic idealistic experiment, has born testament to this.

A realistic solution to this said problem, and in keeping with the ultimate goal of severing old customs, is some kind of social revolution, translating in the removal of the current political system for a new one. Starting fresh.

This does not necessarily mean success, as Pol Pot's socialist revolution to eradicate old Cambodian customs for a proposed utopic idealism lead to the genocide of over 2 million Cambodians (1/4th of that country's population). The experiment itself was a failure. Absolute; which mirrored Mao Zedong's own Cultural Revolution in the 1970's, which was a failure in its own right).

Today we opened the anterior angle of the neck. I exposed the anterior digastric muscles intrinsic to the mandibular arch. Followed the digastric muscles to the hyoid bone, from which the sternothyroid and the sternohyoid muscles were attached. We excised the said muscle, the sternohyoid to expose the sternothyroid, which was caudal to the former.

Identification of the main innervation of the face was confirmed by another colleague; identification of the facial nerve and its branches; the transverse cervical nerves.

Today was a good day. Tomorrow, we shall go inside the jugular foramen to expose the trachea and the laryngeal apparatus.

Or so the plan is.

I've been reading about the sholastic philosophers in the 12th and 13th centuries. The debates over faith vs. reason were in the forefront then, as they continue to be today. The moslem philosopher Averroes held that the universe is eternal. Thomas Aquinas, writing to defend christianity against Averroism argued that the universe was created in time out of nothing. Other philosophers attempted to prove the existence of God by reason alone as a defense against unbelievers, as some still do today (creation science).

(Quoting Durant) "However Aquinas conceeded that the arguments offered by the theologians for creation in time are weak and should be rejected 'lest the Catholic faith should seem to be founded on empty reasoning.' Thomas concludes that we must believe on faith in a creation in time, but he adds that the question has little meaning, since time had no existence before creation; (because) without change, without matter in motion, there is no time."

This struck me as not being inconsistent with Einstein's relativity which launched our modern discussion about space/time. Indeed, modern science brings space and time into an equivalency. Today's theory of the Big Bang almost brings us back to the sholastic notion of a Primary Cause. Today's scientists offer nothing about what happened before the Big Bang.

I'm not saying that the scientists are standing at the edge of the abyss of faith, but to me, it seems that we all need to recognize that there will always be limits to knowledge and understanding. I am leery of anyone who claims certainty. Aquinas put it nicely when he said that "The highest knowledge we can have of God in this life, is to know that he is above all that we can think concerning him." Likewise, scientists with their ever larger atom smashers continue to pursue ever smaller particles to make ever infinitessimal approaches to the moment of the big bang.

The only thing that I know for certain is that there's a lot I don't know. You can't take things too seriously, it makes you lose sight of the joys of life - things like your baby crapping in his diaper.

:P

Accountability and transparency is achievable in the now. Ubiquitous to the argument is the reiteration of the need to change. Understandable, and in the end, that is the goal. That is the aim.

Intrinsic to the problem itself, is the process, the procurement of the said goal.

This argument is circular and never-ending. How are we to solve the problem. Specific processes. Idealism aside, let us be pragmatic.

There is no such thing as vote buying here in the United States. As Americans are ever-conscious of their rights and the right to vote.

If one is found guilty of corrupt practices, one can loose his seat in power as well as face Federal Charges and Imprisonment.

There are senators and congressmen that are in jail for such practices. Federal Penitentiary.

Ever had the pleasure of dating a woman who was too open on the first date? What did you do and how did you handle the situation?

As for me, I did date several women who were too open on the first night out. Opening one's personal problems at the first date as well as being too physically open, in my opinion, is an ingredient for a 'fast' relationship.

Keep it slow, build it up, and let the chase be as thrilling and rewarding as the ride. If there is no chase, then there is no thrill and satisfaction.

John McCain is the 21st century's version of Sen. Henry Clay, who was an American Statesman (From Kentucky) who vied for the presidency over 2 times yet failing to grasp the most-wanted prize.

No doubt Clay and McCain are great senators, who have contributed to their state and to the service of this Great nation.

History shall look kindly on him, on that aspect.

His testament to American society and history is his public service, his military accomplishments and his love of country.

We are subjected to incidents in life that may seem inopportune to us, but think of it more of a test. A predicament. Prove your faith.

And remember that being weak does not necessarily mean loosing favor with The Most High.

As it has been said:

And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

Inspiration & Hope / Re: Why God allows suffering?
November 12, 2008, 03:19:16 PM
In analysis of your message, Gener.

I thought it best to reiterate some facts:

   1.  Man lives in a universe of cause and effect and the consequences of certain causes are inescapable. Fire burns, water drowns, disease germs destroy. These facts have moral implications. Men live in a universe in which the consequences of what they do are inescapable, and therefore their responsibility for what they do is equally inescapable. Without this burden of 'natural law' man could do as he liked with impunity, and there would be no responsibility. God made the universe this way because He is a moral God who makes men responsible beings with freewill to choose how they will act.
   2. Man's neglect and misuse of his own life has corrupted the stream of human life itself, and left evils which fall on succeeding generations. These, again as part of natural law, may manifest themselves as hereditary weaknesses and tendencies to disease. The very stuff of life may be affected as it is passed on from generation to generation.
   3. The consequences of man's acts are not only directly physical. The social and political evils which they have created throughout history have left a gathering burden on the generations following. People today are caught in a net of the consequences of past history, and even when they try to right one evil, another is brought to bear: "The whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now" (Romans 8:22).

So mo uban ko ninja; siya mo drive ug ako iyang pasahero. Mo ingoon man jud to si Lolo Ciano nako, "Ondoy, imung responsibilidad mo count sa mga pasahero" haha.

Lolo went everywhere to sa una. He would drive to Jagna, to Garcia Hernandez, etc. And mo drive pood tu sija sa bukidnon area. Daghang tawo didto dili maka afford sa pliti, pero Lolo would give them rides.

Instead of paying him with peso, lolo would accept the payment of frutas, saging, mango, mga kanonon gud.

That is why his business was so successful because mo barter pood sija; ug maayo man sija to others who could not afford.

Imagine ka, Calle, my lolo was the eldest of 12 children. He grew up intawn luuy kaayo sa Anas. My Lolo Ciano went to Mindanao pood when he was younger as worker. Ning balik sija sa Bohol kai naka save up pood na sija. Kaning mga Salvo ug Salise, very hard working jud ni sila especialidad ni si Lolo Ciano.

He was not only a father, a husband, but was a driver, was a farmer of his own basaks and was also an avid fisherman. An all-around guy. I am so inspired by him kaayo. To me, he is the perfect father. Provider, and protector. The best grandfather in the world.

When I look at history, and the chronological stages of great empires of the past, synthesis of their fall and their decline is the presence of ubiquitous governmental policies and the rising clamor of the people being governed.

Look into Roman History, the Emperors that sat on the Imperial Throne in the Capitoline were content with the status quo; despite the clamor of the plebeians of Rome. It was doomed to fall, by the precedent of its political spectrum. The rise of Autocratic Monarchies in Europe, Asia and the Absolutist Theocracies in the Middle East are themselves predisposed to rebellion and uprisings by the inability of their political spectrum to compromise. Change, is slow, in such processes due to the concrete fixature of the one who wields power and control.

The United States and our system of government is immune from such historical precedent of the fall. Why? Because no one is permitted to claim power as President beyond his or her 2 terms. The sanctified Constitution of the People has been the guide for the United States in its March since its inception in 1776, some 232 years ago.

Barack Obama, represents the evolution of American demographics. His rise to the Pedestal of The Presidency, the Most Revered Position in the Land, illustrates to us, the American People and to those in the world who look to the United States as the guiding light, the beacon of hope to many developing nations.

To us, the American People, his rise to the Presidency represents the social cycle; the reproofs of racism, the overcoming of obstacles from obtaining one's maximum potential. He represents, to us, that this Nation, is truly The Land of Milk and Honey. Where a poor immigrant from lowly beginnings can be educated by the pillars of academia and contribute change for his fellow American, and ultimately, fellow Man.

The election of Barack Obama, completes the dreams of the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, that the schools of American will be homes for education, where white, black, yellow, brown congregate. To understand and to empower himself and understand his and her fellow Americans.

The beauty and the majesty of the American people never ceases to amaze me. It is when we are so desperately in need and pressed by financial and military needs that we can demonstrate our best qualities.

God Bless the United States of America
and our American People.

The word Fallen characterizes nations, states, principalities that have been conquered or defeated.

In the pages of American History, no where have we been conquered by any nation, or empire that dared to instigate the wrath of the American People, which is absolute.

The British Empire, the strongest empire in the world from the 18th century to the early 20th century was defeated by our Revolutionary Forces. And when the British declared war in 1812, we yet again defeated them, in the decisive battle in New Orleans.

Initially, we were an isolationist nation, but world powers incurred our wrath; namely in the First World War. Our entry in 1914 to 1918 turned the tide of the war, and overran German defenses leading to the Allied Victory.

In World War II, we were yet again drawn to war, by the Japanese perdicious attack on Pearl Harbor in December 7 of 1941.

The Japanese started the war, and we ended it completely by reconquering ever single Japanese-held island that or neutralizing it; and tested our Nuclear Power on the Japanese. Suffered them to defeat and occupied by American Forces, till this day. A permanent American base in Okinawa and South Korea is testament of this.

The Word Fallen, would describe nations that were defeated or conquered.

The United States, by History's precedent, does not even fall into that category.
Nor shall it ever.

Faithfully,
#42648
Calle,

The Philippines has a long way to go, that is true. Optimistically, as a democracy, it has survived its own turmoils, civil unrest, separatist wars, islamofascist terrorism and economic scrutiny.

What characterizes the Philippines and the Filipinos is this:

Survival, Ever-dreaming

As a nation and as a republic, the people in the Philippines continue to dream for a better tomorrow, that, in its own right, is stimulus for change.

History shall be the judge of all. Our descendants shall judge the actions of the present.

A fallen nation?

The United States IS the Global Hyper Power.

Economically, we are unprecedented. The combined economy of Europe, an Continent, barely surpasses that of ours.

The United States Military, is unmatched. Fact.

I would deign to think that we are a Nation that has yet to reach its peak.
#42650
No, the United States is totally different from the Philippines.

One, the United States is heterogeneous. Americans are decedents of immigrants from Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa.

Whereas the Philippines is primarily homogeneous. 95% of the people are of Malay ancestry and a minority are of mixed ancestry.

Secondly and most importantly.

The United States never suffered a dictatorship. Nor will it ever. The 2nd amendment, the right to bear arms, is living testament of our right to topple any government that oversteps and counteracts the truths made manifest in the United States Constitution, for which thousands upon thousands of America's sons and daughters were sacrificed in its defense. The American Constitution has never been altered, and shall never be. It has remained unchanged for 2 centuries and is the MODEL constitution that other nations base their constitution on. The Philippine constitution is ever-changing.

Developing nations, specifically, developing democracies strive and aim to be just like the United States.

The Philippines, politically, has a long way to go.
#42651
Barack Obama, during Philippine Independence Day, also told to the Philippine-American celebrants, 'Mabuhay ang Pilipinas'.

He grew up in a multicultural setting; and he represents the multiculturality, multiethnicity, multireligious character of The Super Power.
#42652
The beauty of The United States is that we will never suffer to have dictatorships in our Democracy, born from the tyrany of British Imperialism.

This country, is a living breathing epitome of Revolutionary Spirit. Every 4 years the American People emulate the revolutionary spirits of our Founding Fathers by electing a new president or incumbent into the most Revered Office throughout the Land.

This is why The United States will never fall into the gloom and pit that characterized the Roman Empire.

One, Rome was an Imperial Absolute Monarchy. Here, in the United States, even a commoner and a minority can become the President; a living and breathing example that sanctifies the God-given priviledge of hard work, cameraderie and passionate optimism--being a stimulus for greater fruits.

There is no other land like the United States. The World in One. The World In One.

Our Motto exalts our people, "E Pluribus Unum" Out of Many. One.

Book Reviews / Dreams and Shadows
November 11, 2008, 04:10:55 AM
Here is a great opening paragraph: "At the end of the eighties, a world that was supposed to last forever came crashing down, leaving people stunned by its sudden and complete disintegration. Its rotten foundation had finally faltered." That world was the author's childhood Bulgaria under the Communist regime. While some of us may remember the historic occasion (Nov 10, 1989) from a distant perspective, this incredible autobiography lets us live the oppression that preceded it. And who better to be our guide?â€""Perhaps it is because I left, everything stopped and remained frozen in time. During the few years after leaving the country, when I was neither here nor there, I often dwelled on my past."

But this is more than a trip back to the old neighborhood. It is incredibly sad and at the same time beautiful. Here Radka Yakimov describes the Russians entering Bulgaria toward the end of World War II: "Laughter and male voices penetrated our barn-house walls. A series of loud bangs shook the door. Father jumped on his feet; Mother grabbed the windowsill as though to go over to it. Somebody was shouting persistently in Russian: 'Open the door!' Father threw himself against the wall and started shouting like a mad man; 'Woman, give me the gun! Where is my gun? Give it to me, woman.' Suddenly all went quiet outside. A short conversation in subdued voices followed, and shortly the only sound heard outside was a shuffling feet… In the morning, all was quiet in the yard. The neighbors were moving about their business, as usual, though women kept throwing surreptitious glances toward the shack where the retarded girl lived. She had been heard screaming throughout the night. Finally, someone went to check on her. The door was ajar; the place was empty. She was nowhere to be seen."

The title, however appropriate, is weak and the cover, grainy black and white. As a girl Radka kept a diary and some entries are included. As a source this must have been invaluable, but the actual entries are a mixed blessing. They give us a feeling for the time and some reveal the importance of little things that would ordinarily be forgotten, but they lack the focus and polish of her adult style and the intensity, poignancy and drama Radka Yakimov delivers in the rest of her narrative. These are minor quibbles in light of an incredible story. If this author had not written this book the human cost of the Communist system might never be known to us today. How much all of us have at stake, how easily it can be lost. Any readers would welcome this depth of detail about members of their families who have since died. Think of the richness the author's daughter must feel to have this history. Short of our receiving a gift like that, "Dreams and Shadows" almost feels like a substitute for our own missing genealogy. When the black and white gallery of her family pictures appear, we look through them to put faces with the now familiar names as if they were our own distant relatives.

Toward the end of the book the author describes leaving her homeland for the West: "They were getting smaller and smaller, receding into the city's background like a pantomime frozen in time; heads turned in the direction of the vanishing train that was taking me away, from them, from everything I had ever know." Can you imagine what that must have felt like?

At one point, in the seventies, I was turned away from the Bulgarian border (by then open to Americans) by a guard pointing a machine gun at me, my wife and our baby because my passport had been issued when I was in the army. That kind of political paranoia didn't make sense at the time. After reading this book, I understand.

All leaders are capable of fault. Your examples are not free from corruption and abuse of power.  Though Solomon had long been faithful to the LORD, late in life he fell away.

Part of Solomon's diplomatic success had come through marriages with foreign royalty. In all, he had 1,000 wives, many of them foreign. The LORD had forbidden his people to marry foreigners,1 for fear their religious practices would corrupt the true worship of the LORD. And in fact, this is what happened to Solomon.

Out of love for his wives, Solomon built shrines to their idols. To please his wives, he personally participated in the worship of those idols. This was no small sin, nor a positive expression of religious freedom. Each of these idols was connected with detestable practices. For example, both of the idols Chemosh and Molech required human sacrifice of children or infants in their worship.

And so Solomon, previously pure and committed to the LORD, introduced much sin into Israel in the name of political success. And this apostasy came in spite of God's great blessing to Solomon â€" God had personally spoken to him on two occasions, and had given him great wisdom, wealth, and security.

For this apostasy, God told Solomon he had decided to remove him from being king. Yet out of respect for Solomon's father, faithful King David, he would not do this during Solomon's lifetime, nor would he remove him completely â€" Solomon's heir would retain a small portion of the kingdom. This was fulfilled when Solomon's son King Rehoboam foolishly lost most of the kingdom.

As for King David, ironically, at the end of his life David himself became the victim of others' political maneuvering. His own son, Solomon, used contrived orders from David to launch a coup against the presumed successor, Adonijah, and to get rid of the members of the old regime (Joab, Abiathar) who supported Adonijah. Bathsheba herself may have orchestrated the coup.

History has mandated and exclaims that absolute power does corrupt absolutely.

Angie, that is because the particulates that come from perfumes and cigarettes are pathogens, if they enter the body. It is an immune response when you sneeze after smelling it or tasting it. Your body is expelling the foreign particulates.

Amazing how our bodies work, eh?

A Prayer to the Blessed Eucharist,
Prayer By St. Thomas Aquinas

Prayer to the Blessed Sacrament
St. Thomas Aquinas
Oh Most Holy Jesus, who are truly hidden here; grant me to desire ardently, to search prudently, to know truly and to carry out perfectly in praise and glory of your holy name everything that pleases you.

Command, Oh my God, the state of my life; grant that I may know what you want and that I carry out what is proper and needed for my soul.

Grant me, Oh Lord my God, that I never fail between prosperities and adversities, so that I donââ,¬â,,¢t become proud in the ones nor dejected in the other.

That I may not have joy nor sorrow, except from what takes me to You, or takes me away from You. That I desire to please or displease no one except You.

May all transitory things be vile to me, but very precious the eternal ones.

May I dislike, Lord, all joy without You, and may I not be ambitious about anything outside of You. And may become pleasant to me any work for You, and disgusting my rest without You.

Give me Oh my God, that I may lift my heart to You frequently and with fervour, that I do everything with love, that I take for dead anything that does not belong to your service, that I donââ,¬â,,¢t do things out of routine but referring them to You with devotion.

Make me Oh Jesus, my love, my life; obedient without contradiction, poor without going low, chaste without corruption, patient without dissipation, mature without affliction, diligent without inconsistency, fearful of You without desperation, true without bending, make that I practice what is good without presumption, that I correct my neighbor without pride, that I build with words and deeds without falsehood.

Give me Oh Lord my God, a vigilant heart that does not go away from You for a curious thought; give me a noble heart that does not deviate for any sinister intention, give me a firm heart that does not break for any tribulation, give me a free heart that will not be dominated by any violent passion.

Grant me Oh Lord my God, understanding to know You, diligence to search for You, wisdom to find You, behavior that You will be pleased with, perseverance that hopefully will wait for you, and hope, that finally will embrace You.

Grant that I may be afflicted by sorrows here as penance, and in the way of my life I use your benefits for grace, and that in Heaven be happy with your joys for glory.

Lord, You that live and reign, God forever and ever.

Amen.

November 09, 2008, 11:12:20 PM
Maluuy ang Ginoo we are given our daily bread today,
A blessed Sunday Morning to everyone,

It is told to us that our bodies are the temples of the Lord, the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit. Who proceeds from the Father and the Son. I wish all of you, mga kaibigan, a good and healthy week. The Lord strengthen you, The Lord invigorate you in your ways and journeys.

Brothers and sisters:
You are God’s building.
According to the grace of God given to me,
like a wise master builder I laid a foundation,
and another is building upon it.
But each one must be careful how he builds upon it,
for no one can lay a foundation other than the one that is there,
namely, Jesus Christ.

Do you not know that you are the temple of God,
and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
If anyone destroys God’s temple,
God will destroy that person;
for the temple of God, which you are, is holy.

1 Cor 3:9c-11, 16-17

Peace be with you, the peace and love of Christ be with all of us.

Amen

Our family is made up of every race

Rich and poor, men and women

We are young and old,

Rich and poor, men and women

sinners and saints

Our family has spanned the centuries and the globe.

With God’s grace, we started hospitals to care for the sick.

We establish orphanages, and help the poor.

We are the largest charitable organization
on the planet, bringing relief and comfort to those in need.

We educate more children than any other scholarly or religious
institution.

We developed the scientific method and laws of evidence.

We founded the college system.

We defend the dignity of all human life, and uphold marriage and family.

Cities were named after our revered saints, who navigated a sacred path before us.

Guided by the Holy Spirit, we compiled the Bible

We are the Catholic Church
with over one billion in our family
sharing in the sacraments and fullness of Christian faith.

For centuries, we have prayed for you and our world,
every hour of every day, whenever we celebrate the mass.

Jesus, Himself, laid the foundation for our faith
when He said to Peter, the first pope, “You are rock,
and upon this rock I will build My Church.”

For over 2,000 years, we have had an unbroken line of shepherds
guiding the Catholic Church with love and truth, in a confused and hurting
world.

And in this world filled with chaos,
hardship and pain,
it’s comforting to know that some things remain
consistent, true, and strong,
our Catholic faith,
and the eternal love that God has for all creation.
Ours is one family united in Jesus Christ,
our Lord and Savior.

We are Catholic. Welcome home

So take one word you said
You put it in your bed
You rest your tiny head on your pillow
You wonder where you're going next
You got your head pushed to my chest
and now you're hoping that someone let's you in
Well I swear ill let you in
You know ill let you in
Oh Kelsey, you.

So don't let anyone scare you
You know that I'll protect you
Always, through the thick and thin
Until the end
You better watch it
You know you don't cross it because
I'm always here for you
and I'll be here for you
(I know x3) I know how it feels believe me
I've been there and
(I know x3) I know what it feels like
tell me Kelsey

And I swim the ocean for you
the ocean for you
whoa, oh Kelsey
and I swim the ocean for you
the ocean for you
whoa, oh Kelsey

Now it's gonna get harder
Find More lyrics at www.sweetslyrics.com
and it's gonna burn brighter
and it's gonna feel tougher each and every day
so let me say, that i love you
you're all I've ever wanted
all I've ever dreamed of to come
and yes you did come
i want you so bad (so bad)
can you feel it too? (it too)
you know I'm so, I'm so in love with you
i want you, so much
i need you, so much
i need your, i need your, your touch

and I swim the ocean for you
the ocean for you
whoa, oh Kelsey
x4
and you never ever let me in (let me in)

Tribute to Orchids (Aya) / Re: Look After You
November 09, 2008, 07:19:14 AM
Lyrics:

If I don't say this now I will surely break
As I'm leaving the one I want to take
Forgive the urgency but hurry up and wait
My heart has started to separate

Oh, oh,
Be my baby
Ohhhhh
Oh, oh
Be my baby
I'll look after you

There now, steady love, so few come and don't go
Will you won't you, be the one I'll always know
When I'm losing my control, the city spins around
You're the only one who knows, you slow it down

Oh, oh
Be my baby
Ohhhhhh
Oh, oh
Be my Baby
I'll look after you
And I'll look after you

If ever there was a doubt
My love she leans into me
This most assuredly counts
She says most assuredly

Oh, oh
Be my baby
I'll look after you
After You
Oh, oh
Be my baby
Ohhhhh

It's always have and never hold
You've begun to feel like home
What's mine is yours to leave or take
What's mine is yours to make your own

Oh, oh
Be my baby
Ohhhhh
Oh, oh
Be my baby
I'll look after you

You are so beautiful to me (repeat)

The patient arrived in ER, the 4th years that were under supervision of the attending Physicians performed CPR, and additional EKG. After 6 minutes of resuscitation tries, the attending physician intervened and declared the patient was dead.

For me, it was an eye opener. Patient came in alive, and left dead.

The Surgeon's Tears

By S.E.Ralph

He wouldn’t last another day,

Such were his mortal wounds,

And there was nothing we could do but pray,

His pain would finish soon,

But when he asked me, “Am I dying Doc?”,

I smiled at him and lied,

“Hell, it’s just a flesh wound son”,

But as I spoke those words he died,

And as he took his final breath,

A teardrop left my eye

Somehow this one got to me,

Though I couldn’t tell you why,

He was just another soldier,

That had fallen to the guns,

I didn’t know him personally,

He was just somebody’s son,

That had tried to make a difference,

And put the world at piece,

Well maybe not the whole world,

But this part of it at least,

This dusty barren landscape,

That’s seen more blood than rain,

This final resting place of those,

Who sought to make a change,

And in doing so had given more,

Than we had the right to ask,

So many names remembered,

In their local epitaphs,

So many flag draped caskets,

And families to weep,

Those twenty-one gun volleys,

For those heroes now asleep,

And I’ve seen so many like them,

I thought my heart had turned to stone,

From years of fixing bullet holes,

Torn flesh and broken bones,

In battlefield conditions,

Amidst the cries of pain and fear,

I force another practiced smile,

That must hide the surgeon’s tears.

Ma'am,

We Americans will oudoubtedly say and agree that our honorable and brave soldiers have sacrificed their lives for the protection of our Precious Land. Wherever the American Flag is in need, abroad or domestic, they will be there within a few hours, by shear might and size of our Armed Forces.

We have lost over 4,000 soldiers in Iraq, as a consequence to the viotile setting in Iraq; and the surge of terrorists into the porous borders of Iraq in the months after post 2003 Iraq.

The goal is to stabilize Iraq and retrain their military, under American premise. And that has already been accomplished. The United States has retrained over 400,000 Iraqi troops and more and more Iraqi Military Units have taken over areas that were once heavily guarded and administered by the American Forces.

No doubt, many of our sons and daughters have died in defense of the American Cause. And their deaths WILL NEVER be in vain. Though it may have been inoportune for us to have invaded Iraq, we cannot turn back time and ask for the lives of 4,000 of our troops to come back to their lifeless bodies. Nor can well ask for the thousands of innocent Iraqis that were killed in the crossfire to be given back.

The most important thing is that Iraq is being stabilized, and with an American-trained military and American backing, their government will be able to take the reigns after the United States removes a considerable amount of its forces from Iraq.

Though I can assure you that the United States will probably leave a division or so of its troops in Iraq. For strategic as well as political reasons. The rest of troops will be redistributed throughout the world and to strengthen the American Mainland Reserves.

Obama will have more diplomatic options available. But he has said this time and time again that he will not be hesitant to use military force if diplomacy fails. In the end, Obama is a die-hard American. And by that right, American Interest is Primacy.

Yours,
#42689
Realistically speaking, even if President-Elect Obama wants to implement new domestic changes, that is one one story. However, he must not undermine the American presence in our overseas bases, in fact he must continue and uphold our territories and operations abroad in order to uphold and protect the massive American interests and investments abroad.

His proposal to remove American troops from Iraq and reinforce American bases is good, actually. He will put pressure in Afghanistan and smite the remaining Al Qaeda bases in that region.

American Military Presence will not decrease, in fact, it will only increase.
How So?

Because the United States is currently building 2 more Nuclear super aircraft carriers.
The Obama Administration will inherit a very much-enlarged and potent American Military. I assure you that the American muscle will be flexed yet again in his administration. One way or another.

#42690
Additinionally, both American and Canadians have explored the Northwest Territories of Canada, which is resource rich.

No doubt the United States has already eyed Canada's own resources.

As, Canada is by military treaty, is covered and protected by the American Military Umbrella.

#42691
There are goods and bads. Alaska, for the United States, is of strategic importance because it is in the arctic ring and provides a permanent carrier base for the United States' interest in the oil rigs in the arctic region. Additionally, Alaska is close the Russian Border, naturally, would be of strategic military incentive for the United States. By that right.

Secondly, the state of Alaska is profitable in terms of tourism. The state is a popular site for American Gaming fanatics (wild life hunting); per se bear, elk, moose, seal, etc. Millions of dollars worth of tourist money is generated in that. Thus, provides a living and economic stimulus to the state.

Third and most importantly, Alaska is the center of ANWAR. Site of the United States Oil Reserves. Alaska is rich in oil, natural gas, and coal reserves. It is state that is literally resource-rich. Its importance to the United States is paramount. That is why there is a large naval presence in Alaska as well as a large marine and army presence.

For those who had beautiful dreams, please share with us your dreams. Dreams are nothing but the result of excessive neuro-anatomical activity within the the cerebral cortex during dream sleep. It is necessary for the complete recuperation of the human body. It is the 'creative' juice, figuratively speaking, of the living body.

I just am amazed by the geneology of the place. I like to know where my ancestors came from and the distant relatives I have.

Thank you, Grace.

Jesus set out and went away to the region of Tyre. A woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit heard about Jesus and she came and bowed down at His feet. The woman was a Gentile of Syrophoenician origin. She begged Jesus to cast the demon out of her daughter. Jesus replied "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel." But she again asked for help and Jesus replied "It is not fair to take the children's food and throw it to the dogs." The woman answered "Yes Lord, but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters table." Then Jesus answered "Woman, great is your faith! Let it be done as you wish." She went home, found her the child laying on the bed, and the demon gone.

Jesus saw a man who was blind from birth. He then spat on the ground and made mud with the saliva and spread the mud on the mans eyes, saying to him "Go wash in the pool of Siloam." When the man done this he came back able to see. The people who had known the man were so astounded, they brought the Pharisee's to him. After many questions, which also included the mans parents, the Pharisee's could not accept the fact that Jesus cured a man who was born blind. Jesus made the statement "I came into this world for judgment so that those who do not see may see, and those who do see may become blind."

We received fresh cadavers again this week, 'te. So we were selected by our anatomy instructor to prepare the specimen, craniotomically. Considering the last time we did craniotomy, our specimens were perfect. What we did was the removal of the scalp, superficially and careful not to retract the intrinsic muscles of the skull. Complete scalp removal was needed in order to observe the intrinsic muscles of the skull: the occipitalis, the frontalis--forming the occiptofrontalis, then the temporalis. After the scalp was excised completely, we then excised said muscles inferiorly to allow us to proceed with the craniotonomical procedure. But at the same time saving parts of said muscle for later observation.

What we did was rather amazing; it is called coronal craniotomical cut; a similar procedure what Neuro-surgeons do on the living body. What we did was take a ruler and measure 2 cm from the suprarorbital notch and mark that spot (in the anterior portion of the skull), then we flipped the body in prone position and marked another spot 2 cm below the occipital protuberance in the posterior region of the skull. From this we then we connected the marked regions that thus forms the Calvaria of the skull.

Using gentle and at the same time firm cut, we applied a surgical electric saw completely remove the cranial calvaria to expose the meninges, and the entire brain itself. We removed the brain at the base of the spinal cord, adjacent to the pons and the medula oblangata. The brain, actually, was in great anatomical condition and will allow further neurological examinations later; as we will take brain samples to analyze it histologically.

Inside the base of the skull, we were able to demonstrate the location of the pituitary gland within the sellae turcica, the presence of the major cranial nerves: the occulomotor nerves, the optic nerves, the abducent nerves etc etc.

Doing this was myself, Mike, Thiru, Rick and Shalabh. The Dean himself was there to observe our anatomical exposition and what was great was that he commended us as 'future surgeons' hahaha. It feels so good, jud 'te.

The picture is of Thiru and myself.
