in the trash can i believe. hehehe.
it's a nice song kiams by whitney houston.
here's the lyrics.

I know it's been some time
But there's something on my mind
You see, I haven't been the same
Since that cold November day...
We said we needed space
But all we found was an empty place
And the only thing I learned
Is that I need you desperately...

So here I am
And can you please tell me... oh

Chorus:
Where do broken hearts go
Can they find their way home
Back to the open arms
Of a love that's waiting there
And if somebody loves you
Won't they always love you
I look in your eyes
And I know that you still care, for me

I've been around enough to know
That dreams don't turn to gold
And that there is no easy way
No you just can't run away...
And what we have is so much more
Than we ever had before
And no matter how I try
You're always on my mind

chorus

And now that I am here with you
I'll never let you go
I look into your eyes
And now I know, now I know...

chorus

World Daily News / Gunman Kills 10 In Alabama
March 11, 2009, 10:39:44 PM
Ala. gunman `cleaned his family out' in rampage

SAMSON, Ala. â€" Authorities were working Wednesday to learn why a gunman set off on a rampage, killing 10 people across two rural Alabama counties. Grieving residents feared the answers could have been lost when he ended the terror by killing himself.

The shooting was believed to be the worst mass killing by a single gunman in Alabama's history. The gunman's mother, four other relatives and the wife and child of a local sheriff's deputy were among the dead.

"He cleaned his family out," Coffee County Coroner Robert Preachers said. "We don't know what triggered it."

The shootings happened Tuesday afternoon in a mostly rural area near the Florida border, and were believed to be the work of Michael McLendon, a man in his 20s who lived with his mother and once worked at a local metal plant.

The spree began around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday when McLendon burned down his mother's house in Kinston. Coffee County Sheriff Dave Sutton said McClendon put his mother, Lisa McLendon, on an L-shaped couch, pilled stuff on top of her and set her afire. He said McClendon also shot four dogs at the house.

Then, McLendon drove a dozen miles southeast to Samson, in Geneva County, where he opened fire at a relative's porch, killing three relatives and two others before shooting another relative next door. After, he drove around the town shooting out his car window, killing three more people seemingly at random, authorities said.

One woman was struck down as she walked out of a gas station. Another man was hit while driving. A man was shot in the back as he tried to run away.

Greg McCullough, a contractor who lives in the town, said he was pumping fuel at the gas station when the gunman roared into the parking lot and slammed on his brakes.

"I first thought it was somebody playing," McCullough said. Then he saw the rifle.

As police pursued him, McLendon drove 12 miles farther east and stopped at the Reliable Metal Products plant where he worked until 2003. He got out of his car and fired at police with his automatic weapon, wounding Geneva Police Chief Frankie Lindsey, authorities said. He then walked inside and killed himself.

Once investigators got a look at the ammunition he was carrying, they feared the bloodshed could have been worse. "I'm convinced he went over there to kill more people. He was heavily armed," Sutton said.

Three of the people struck on the porch were the wife and two daughters of Dep. Josh Myers, who was one of the law enforcement officers involved in the chase for McLendon. His family, who lived across the street from the gunman's relatives, was visiting the home when the gunfire erupted. Only one of the children, a 4-month old-girl, survived, and was set to undergo surgery at a hospital in Pensacola, Fla. for a wound to the leg caused by either a bullet or shrapnel.

"I cried so much yesterday, I don't have a tear left in me," said Myers, who did not know McClendon. "I feel like I should be able to walk in the house and my wife would be there, my baby girl climbing on me."

Authorities said McLendon was either fired or resigned from his job at the metals plant in 2003. It was unclear what kind of work, if any, he had been doing since, said Alabama Public Safety spokesman Kevin Cook. A person who answered the phone at the plant said no one could talk about the shooting.

Samson Mayor Clay King said he had known McLendon all his life and could not say what triggered the shootings.

"If you would have asked me two days ago if he was capable of this, I would have said certainly not," King said on NBC's "Today" early Wednesday.

Word of the shootings spread quickly through Samson, a rural town of about only 2,000 people. The local hospital's staff was readied to treat the victims, but their hopes were dashed as death reports trickled in.

"Unfortunately, we were getting the same bad reports as everyone else: Most people were untreatable," said John Rainey, a local government administrator. "Our nursing staff broke down in tears hearing what was going on and realizing they weren't going to be able to help them."

One of the spots sprayed with bullets was a hardware store in Samson. Yellow tape was strung across glass windows shattered by at least five bullets. A "closed" sign was on the ground outside atop glass shards.

Tommy Boyles, a 76-year-old security guard who works at the same plant where McLendon killed himself, said he and his wife were on the street nearby when McLendon passed. They feared they could have been one of his victims.

"We could have been caught up in it just as well as anyone else," he said. "That's what scares you: to be an innocent bystander and some nut walks up with a gun."

Lynn Childs, a spokeswoman for the Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center in Montgomery, said the slayings were the most victims killed by one gunman in Alabama since the organization started keeping such records in 1978.

Six members of a farm family in Rutlege were killed by a gunman in 2002. At that time, veteran law enforcement authorities said they did not recall any worse massacre in Alabama dating back decades.

Teen gunman dead after killing 15 at German school

WINNENDEN, Germany â€" A 17-year-old gunman dressed in black opened fire at his former high school in southwestern Germany on Wednesday then fled in a hijacked car, killing at least 15 people before police shot him to death, state officials said.

The gunman entered the school in Winnenden and opened fire, shooting at random, police said. He killed nine students, three teachers and a passer-by outside the building, officials said.

"He went into the school with a weapon and carried out a bloodbath," said regional police chief Erwin Hetger. "I've never seen anything like this in my life."

Triggering a land and air manhunt, he hijacked a car, freed the passengers and drove about 25 miles (40 kilometers) before police found him. When confronted, he killed two bystanders in a shootout with police before he was slain, Baden Wuerttemburg governor Guenther Oettinger said. Two officers were seriously injured, but there was no immediate information on other casualties.

Four hours after the shootings began, police announced the teenager's death.

It was the nation's worst shooting since another teenage gunman killed 16 people and himself in another high school in 2002.

Concerned parents quickly swarmed the school, which was evacuated.

Police have have identified the gunman only as Tim K, who graduated last year from the school of about 1,000 students.

The German government was "deeply shocked and incensed about the appalling killing spree," Ulrich Wilhelm, a spokesman for Chancellor Angela Merkel, said in Berlin.

In 2002, 19-year-old Robert Steinhaeuser shot and killed 12 teachers, a secretary, two students and a police officer before turning his gun on himself in the Gutenberg high school in Erfurt, in eastern Germany.

Steinhaeuser, who had been expelled for forging a doctor's note, was a gun club member licensed to own weapons. The attack led Germany to raise the age for owning recreational firearms from 18 to 21.

for me, being an executive assistant to a mayor doesn't mean she's already a publice servant because her main job is to serve the mayor. that maybe the reason why she got mad when the media attacked all people connected to the mayor in the city hall who all got unliquidated cash advances.
a public servant simply means, someone who serve their butt out for the interest of the public not just for a certain person. though what she did is totally out of context and very unprofessional. is she eligible to be a public servant? does she have CESO grade? if not, then she's just an ordinary person being appointed to be a professional nanny to a politician.

nobody can really prove it here since we don't have nuclear scientist. if we do have, where are they working? we are basing all the facts from experts from other countries as well as arguments from environmentalist. the pros and cons of the nuclear energy are battling it out, point for point against each other based on what? research, real time events/incidents, theories?
i think we need to know what prompted president marcos to build such structure and why it was left idle after he was removed from power. what if that plant was able to operate after it was built and commissioned? what will be it's accomplishments and benefits it give to the country up this date? obviously our answers are all theories because we didn't experience that one.
if i will read the facts of the pros, i will say they have the point. if i will read the facts of the cons, they too have a point. so both pros and cons have the point to raise as to why they are on the opposite side. do we need to have a plebiscite for this one voting between pros and cons of nuclear plants? i think no, because it's going to involve lots of money and we all know that the world is facing a financial crisis that no one experienced in the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries.

Sagbayan Peak

Sagbayan Peak is a mountain resort and recreation center located in the town of Sagbayan, about 45 miles northwest of Tagbilaran City. Offering a 360-degree perspective view of the famed Chocolate Hills plus the distant blue sea separating Bohol from the island of Cebu, the place has captured the interest of the nature loving tourists.

10 miles from Carmen’s Chocolate Hills Complex and 1-1/2 hour drive through scenic rice fields, historic towns, coconut and banana groves from Tagbilaran, the resort sits on a five-hectare property situated on a mountain top at the cool mountain town of Sagbayan, Bohol. Compared to the Carmen complex, the resort is more spacious and a whole lot less crowded, with ample parking space for vehicles.

The resort offers many facilities for its guests. The first facility that you will pass by upon entering the resort is an open-sided chapel. A short trip thru a scenic landscape will bring you to the wide parking area and entrance of the park, where one has to buy P10 tickets to enter.

Beside the ticket booth is a screen-enclosed structure with plants inside housing some tarsiers, the smallest primates in the world. One is free to enter the tarsier sanctuary but is advised to avoid taking pictures with flashes and to refrain from making too much noise for they stressed the little animals no end and may cause death.

Going up a wide flight of stairs, one reaches a plateau where you are greeted by a life-size dinosaur known as T-rex. The dinosaur is 19 feet in length and 10 feet tall and really fearsome to look at. At the foot of the stairs leading to the pavilion is Pizza Man with his funny grin.

Other cartoon characters are scattered around such as Duffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, Lola, Marilyn Monroe, Donald Duck, Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, Lion King, Tiger and other dinosaurs. The cartoon figures give life to the place and are a joy to look at. The kids surely love playing and running around them.

The covered pavilion is provided with tables and chairs where guests can dine and take their snacks. Refreshments are offered at the counter situated at the side of the covered court. Café Baudillo is set in front and at the rolling end of the mountain with sliding glass doors. The café is air-conditioned and geared for fine dining and overlooks the butterfly dome and the viewing deck in the distance. Room accommodations are available for guests.

A high-powered telescope is on the pavilion’s deck. With a 10-peso coin, one can view the Cebu City skyline across the sea for a minute or two. A few steps down, from Café Baudillo, is the butterfly dome which houses about 18 species of these beautiful winged creatures. Flowering plants augment the inside of the dome with a very big man-made butterfly gracing the center.

A playground is in the middle of a grassy field with a flea market at the side offering native products and delicacies. Picnics are often held here by groups or families with children. Wishing fountains are scattered throughout the property and a grotto is also present.

Down a flight of stairs and slowly going up a small hill, you will arrive at a massive viewing deck that gives a 360 degree view of the surrounding landscape including the Chocolate Hills, the sea, and the Island of Cebu. The view here is spectacular and awesome making some mutter a few words of thanks to our heavenly creator for such grandeur.

Leaving the park, one will notice some construction going on at the parking area, way across the ticket booth. It is partly finished and shows a wide swimming pool with covered kiosks. This is obviously the Water Park. The park now accepts visitors and entrance is P80 per head with free use of the pool and the kiosks.

Sagbayan Peak is managed by Mrs. Myrna Torrefranca, wife of the Mayor of Sagbayan. The Torrefranca Family worked hard to erase the bad image of the town, it being an ambush area, into a tourist destination.

How to Get There?

“For hire” vans are available from Tagbilaran City, at the Dao Terminal; and from the town of Tubigon, fronting the municipal building. Following the Tagbilaran-Tubigon-Clarin route, partially on the way to the town of Nahawan, one will see a junction road with a sign indicating the way to Sagbayan. Sagbayan is way up thru a winding road to a point which is more than 900 feet above sea level. One passes by lush vegetations, developed and tilled lands, and common houses of the townsfolk. One also sees the shorelines of Tubigon and the vast expanse of water with the silhouette of the island of Cebu across it.

Miss you Belle. Wala madayon ang marathon dire kay grabe ang sandstorm. Gi cancel basin kuno maka cause pa ug hubak. Anyways, I benefit from the self-training.

About this topic, Nuke plants suffered from wrong assumptions and misinformation. Because of its looks, people thought that smoke coming out of its vent is toxic, which is only water vapor to the contrary. There was even a No Nukes concert, I think during the time of Jimmy Carter or Ronald Reagan.

Of course there are hazards to any technology. This is the cheapest, cleanest and less hazzardous to the environment compared to fossil fuels where it is a threat to global warming, marine life in case of oil spill, air pollution, soil pollution, etc.

If we use this alternative, our electric bills would dramatically go down to less than half. With this, we can use electric vehicles. The maintenance of a nuke plant is very low and will require a few workforce.

Arroyo and Sukarnoputri Share Similarities
Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo of the Philippines and Megawati Sukarnoputri of Indonesia have remarkable similarities. Both are 54-year-old women who had been vice-presidents before becoming presidents in place of their predecessors who were ousted in the year 2001. Both of them were daughters of former presidents of the world's two largest archipelagos who lost the presidency in 1965 to dictators. Both women have three children and their husbands were being pursued by controversy. Both visited Washington in their first year as presidents and met US President George W. Bush, another offspring of a former president who also assumed power in 2001. Arroyo and Sukarnoputri are not entirely similar though. The former is a Catholic Christian from the world's fifth largest Christian country while the latter is a Muslim from the country with the world's largest Muslim population.

A Priest Took Up Arms Against Americans
From 1900 to 1902, Catholic priest Gregorio Labayan Aglipay took up arms against American soldiers in Batac, Ilocos Norte. Aglipay founded the Liwanag branch of the Katipunan in Victoria, Tarlac, attended the Malolos Congress and became the ecclesiastical governor of Nueva Segovia (Ilocos) in 1899. In his religious role, Aglipay is considered as the Martin Luther of the Philippines for founding the Iglesia Filipina Independiente or the Philippine Independent Church, which celebrated its centenary on August 3, 2002. A century earlier, the Union Obrera Democratica, a confederation of 10 labor organizations headed by Isabelo de los Reyes, broke ties with the Vatican and designated Aglipay as the Obispo Maximo (supreme bishop) of their new religion. The Catholic Church then excommunicated Aglipay. An American general called Aglipay a better soldier than a bishop. (Source: Philippine Daily Inquirer)

Orchids Breeds Were from RP
Waling-waling or Vanda sanderiana, is described as the "Queen of Philippine Orchids". One of the largest species in the world, waling-waling was discovered by German Taxonomist Heinrich Gustav Reicheinback in Mindanao in 1882. Since then, it has become the most sought-after flower in Mindanao and helped in the flourishing of the world's multibillion-dollar orchid and cutflower industry. The massive deforestation in Mindanao threatens the region's wildlife, including waling-waling which used to abound in the tropical forest of Mount Apo and its surrounding areas. Today, it is believed that Waling-Waling has more species abroad, particularly in Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong and Hawaii. Of the 9,000 flowering plants in the world, about 3,500 are endemic to the Philippines. Human activities, however, pose a great threat to their existence.

the old planes have side mirrors and rear view mirrors specially those who were used as fighter planes during the 1st and 2nd world wars. they used to see the rear portion if there are enemies at their backs. as time passes by and technology evolves. that was remove it is because sensors and radars were invented.
