Our Administrator, Mike, has spent countless hours and sleepless nights in building this web site, and had stressed before due to an incident one of our members did by deleting posts and typing "dots". This was a slap in the face to not only our Admin, but to all the members. An example of one person jeapordizing the entire Family for one foolish act.

I will not tolerate any personal attacks on any of the admins, nor to any of the members by another. We have the right to express freedom of expression, but with freedom one has responsibility and credibility at stake. Verbal abuse/Verbal harassment will not be tolerated.

How you act determines the outlook others have on you. And as I said before, Respect is EARNED. Not given.

We are family in here. Let us continue our friendships and friendly camaraderie.

Yours,
Bran Lorenzo

Pre,
Mao bitaw I don't know why the 'states stopped importing the Montero Sport model. I know that the Montero Sport is also known as Pajero Sport abroad. Mitsubishi also made the Sportero Model. Dude, I had the chance to test drive the new 2009 Sportero..aww man. Loved the feel.

These trucks are built for offroad, yo. Specially in muddy terrain. That Montero Sports/Pajero Sports can rip through mud, gravel, snow. Ug mo drive ko, ma feel safe ko kai it sticks low to the ground and all wheel drive pa.

But yea, I hope 'the states starts to import the Montero back. The endeavor is too weak, imho.

Teach me to seek you,
and reveal yourself to me
when I seek you.

For I cannot seek you unless
you first teach me,
nor find you unless
you first reveal yourself to me.

Let me seek you in longing,

Let me find you in love,

My mom came to the 'states in '89. In 1991, she came back to bring my father, my sister Angel and myself to the 'states. It was January 1991 when we arrived. I remember it so clearly. My entire family and extended family were gathered in Tagbilaran Airport to see us go. That was the last time I saw my Mama Luz face to face. :'(
I can still remember my Nanay Mellie, I can still hear her voice and her embrace. Pinching my cheeks.
I can see my Lolo Ciano, who drove us to the Airport with his truck. He picked me up with his strong arm and gave me a big embrace.

We flew from Tagbilaran to Manila. And from Manila, to LA. From LA to JFK International in NYC.

I saw snow for the first time in my life. Tugnaw kaayo. I saw Americanos and Americanas, lol. I saw different people I've never seen before. Speaking in a different language (English).

When I arrived in the 'states I only spoke Bisaya and a little chinese (thanks to education from Bohol Wisdom School, lol).

I started kindergarten in St. Aloysius Elementary School in Queens, NYC. I had to learn English in the ESL Bus (English as a second language). And within 6 months time, I was already speaking english, writing in english, lol.

I saw my Ante Beth and Uncle Steve for the first time. They took us to Atlantic City, New Jersey. Oh man, i saw so many signs in english and i couldn't stop reading the signs, reading each street sign, couldn't stop saying hi to all the 'Americanos ug Americanas' hahaha.

Lonely man at first kai ako ug si Angel raman sa balay.

Man, the first time I arrived in the 'states I immediately wanted to go back home. Gi mingaw man ko ni Nanay Mellie, si Lolo ug si Mama Luz.

18 years ago. Almost 2 decades ago.

Bible Study / Re: Forgiveness
February 03, 2009, 03:59:46 AM
For the longest time, I had trouble in forgiving. As my pride would always get in the way.

Conversation with my local pastor in college, Fr. Mark Hoffman, led me to the realization of the punitive nature of pride. What does pride do? Self confidence, sure, that helps at times. But when pride gets in the way of reconciliation, then it must be 'humbled'. Or as what Fr. Hoffman told me, "Swallow your pride, Lorenzo." The only pride we should have, as he told me, is the pride in the knowing that our Eternal Father has an absolute Love for each and everyone of us. Unconditional Love. That, as he said, was something to be proud of.

And with that in mind, forgiveness came faster for me. I let go of the hostility and doubt to Christ Jesus. All my pains I give and release to Him.

Consequently, it has been beneficial. To begin in a clean slate, and to be able to mend old wounds. To forgive and be forgiven.

Why, that, to me, means alot. A sense of peace and contentness.

Glory Be To God In The Highest.
Whose Love Transcends all Understanding.

Correct si Ate Belle, diba Ate Belle there is a need in Nurses who speak or understand Spanish?

When I was in High School, Bem, we were given electives of Spanish, French, German, Latin and Chinese. Pero majority of students preferred to enroll in Spanish. Ang reason ani is because there is an estimated 25-30 million Spanish speakers living in the US.

Philippines is a growing economic power, with it introducing Spanish in high schools, proficiency in the language will grow.

And a market in Latin America will be open for Filipinos.

The growing markets of Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Columbia, Venezuela, Paraguay, Uruguay, Peru, Mexico, Honduras, Nicaragua, Beliz, Cuba, and Spain will be open to the Philippines.

Implementation of this language will bring more options for The Philippines. The country is too dependent on China, and the US as it is. Perhaps it will better suite the Republic with increased trade and relations with the Latin World/Markets.

Even if we are saved for iternal life with our creator, we don't like to
die because it is said, "it is sweeter to live a little longer in this fleshly life."

No one ever wants to die, Sir Felix, even great rulers and emperors try to defy their own passing by proclaiming edicts, rules, and laws, erecting statues to their own greatness to safeguard and guarantee some semblance of their Immortality for the coming ages.

Sure, some semblance of their work, their aspirations lives on through the ages, but still, even they must bow and acquiesce to Hands of Death.

It reminds me of the tale of the Great Vespatian, a Roman Emperor who declared himself a living god.

And yet even in his own death bed, he whined and groaned of "why does a god die?"

Even an Emperor who claims to be Lord of Life even has to bow to the Lord of Death.

Another something interesting (an extra tidbit),

When this dance was performed in the mid to late 19th century, there were no records of Filipino men wearing such a pointed hat.

The addition of such a hat was for more exotic visual and flair.

In the realistic historical version, Filipino men wore a black vest over the Barong, and instead of the pointed hat, wore top hats.

But yes, this song is So very Hispanic.

It reminds us of the lost face of The Philippines. Hispanismo verdad!

Sometimes, its best to listen to them vent, to allow them to talk.

In our own self legitimization of our own arguments, we try to silence them or interrupt them, but don't do it. Allow them to talk, it helps them in that regard.

A friend, a true friend, will be truthful to you even if you don't like the words said, nor the assumptions. But it is best to maintain transparency between you and the friend.

Yes, even if it means swallowing your pride once and a while. Learning process.

Forgiveness â€" How do I get it?

Thankfully, God is loving and merciful â€" eager to forgive us of our sins! 2 Peter 3:9 tells us, “…He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” God desires to forgive us, so He provided for our forgiveness.

The only just penalty for our sins is death. The first half of Romans 6:23 declares, “For the wages of sin is death…” Eternal death is what we have earned for our sins. God, in His perfect plan, became a human being â€" Jesus Christ (John 1:1,14). Jesus died on the cross, taking the penalty that we deserve â€" death. 2 Corinthians 5:21 teaches us, “God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” Jesus died on the cross, taking the punishment that we deserve! As God, Jesus' death provided forgiveness for the sins of the entire world. 1 John 2:2 proclaims, “He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.” Jesus rose from the dead, proclaiming His victory over sin and death (1 Corinthians 15:1-28). Praise God, through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the second half of Romans 6:23 is true, “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Do you want to have your sins forgiven? Do you have a nagging feeling of guilt that you can’t seem to get to go away? Forgiveness of your sins is available if you will place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior. Ephesians 1:7 says, “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace.” Jesus paid our debt for us, so we could be forgiven. All you have to do is ask God to forgive you through Jesus, believing that Jesus died to pay for your forgiveness â€" and He will forgive you! John 3:16-17 contains this wonderful message, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.”
#41269
Acts 13:38 declares, “Therefore, my brothers, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you.”

What is forgiveness and why do I need it?

The word “forgive” means to wipe the slate clean, to pardon, to cancel a debt. When we wrong someone, we seek their forgiveness in order for the relationship to be restored. Forgiveness is not granted because a person deserves to be forgiven. No one deserves to be forgiven. Forgiveness is an act of love, mercy, and grace. Forgiveness is a decision to not hold something against another person, despite what they have done to you.

The Bible tells us that we are all in need of forgiveness from God. We have all committed sin. Ecclesiastes 7:20 proclaims, “There is not a righteous man on earth who does what is right and never sins.” 1 John 1:8 says, “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.” All sin is ultimately an act of rebellion against God (Psalm 51:4). As a result, we desperately need God’s forgiveness. If our sins are not forgiven, we will spend eternity suffering the consequences of our sins (Matthew 25:46; John 3:36).

"I hate divorce," says the LORD God of Israel... Malachi 2:16, The Bible

It is evident that The Lord of Host despises divorce.

And yet it is man, in his own stubborness that tries to find an excuse for his actions to suit his own self realization and self identity and self legitimacy, even though we know, that deep inside our consciousness some actions are wrong. Some decisions are wrong.

But we, in our fallen state, rely on the constant Love of God. Who will pardon our mistakes and our sins.

And we rely and take comfort in the righteousness of the LORD. And His steadfastness.

Glacier, we all fall short from the Glory of God. All of us. From emperors to the common vagabond.

Marriage is a sacred sacrament. Similar to baptism, confirmation, and the eucharist.

Ingoon ang GINOO nato, "I hate Divorce." Ingoon siya nato sa verse Malachi 2:16.

Yet even with his laws, people will continue to sin and make mistakes. As we all fall short from the Glory of God.

Lorenzo

To be honest, I really don't know. Men are more prone to cheat because society isn't so hostile to men in that regard. But if a woman does, she is automatically labeled a, "whore, adulteress, immoral"

For me, I think there shouldn't be differences in treatment. As the act of adultery is a sin. Be you an adulterer or an adulteress. Shouldn't be doing it in the first place. It is a sign to talk with your spouse.

Depends on the level of damage. Regeneration is possible, so long as the oligodendrocytes, astrocytes, ependymal cells and or the schwann cells are not totally cleaved by trauma.

No marriage comes 'perfect' nothing in this world is easy or a quick fix.

My parents, who will celebrate their 25th year of marriage this coming August (and overall almost 30 years of union--including their dating years) and I can say that they have their share of arguments and trials. But what I learn from my parents, is that for a marriage to last, both need to compromise and work with each other. We, their children, love them for that and are greatly indebted to their ability to not only provide for us, but also to provide for each other.

That is what makes marriage and union so sacred.

And I find so much strength and encouragment in my parents.

It shows one that marriage CAN work, and that GOD is indeed the center of any marriage. We, their children are proof of that Union and Love.

First of all, no matter what view one takes in the issue of divorce it is important to remember the words of the Bible from Malachi 2:16a: “I hate divorce, says the Lord God of Israel.” According to the Bible, God’s plan is that marriage be a lifetime commitment. “So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate” -Matthew 19:6.

God realizes, though, that since a marriage involves two sinful human beings, divorce is going to occur. In the Old Testament, He laid down some laws in order to protect the rights of divorcees, especially women (Deuteronomy 24:1-4). Jesus pointed out that these laws were given because of the hardness of people’s hearts, not because they were God’s desire (Matthew 19: 8 ).

It is distressing that the divorce rate among professing Christians is nearly as high as that of the unbelieving world. The Bible makes it abundantly clear that God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16) and that reconciliation and forgiveness should be the marks of a believer’s life (Luke 11:4; Ephesians 4:32). However, God recognizes that divorces will occur, even among His children. A divorced and/or remarried believer should not feel any less loved by God, even if their divorce and/or remarriage is not covered under the possible exception clause of Matthew 19:9. God often uses even the sinful disobedience of Christians to accomplish great good.

To colonize and chart unchartered, unfound worlds.

To boldly go where no one has gone before..

It is interesting for me to analyze the society we live in. I mean isn't it amazing that during the times of our grandparents and their grandparents, having over 10 children was a common sight.

My maternal grandfather was the eldest of 12 children; my paternal grandmother was the eldest of 12, my own father was the eldest of 7.

Ingoon man to sila, "Okey ra man ug daghaan anak, bibo kaayo ang balay ug mu balik sila tanan."

Amen!

Bitaw, tinuud ning statement ni Gener. And the analogy of the pot and the maker is a beautiful use of figurative speech.

We are all made in the image of Our Creator. Each human being, from the embryo, fetus to the baby, child, adult, elderly. All Human life is Precious in the sights of The Lord.

And yet there are of us who kill and murder human life with the use of abortion. Who silence the life that God has given. As Life is a Gift from God.

Eternal God, You have revealed Yourself as the Father of all Life. We praise You for the Fatherly care which You extend to all creation, and especially to us, made in Your image and likeness.

Father, extend Your hand of protection to those threatened by abortion, and save them from its destructive power. Give Your strength to all fathers, that they may never give in to the fears that may tempt them to facilitate abortions.

Bless our families and bless our land, that we may have the joy of welcoming and nurturing the life of which You are the source and the Eternal Father. Amen.

This particular verse in scripture brings tears to my eyes. Because it shows to me, and you, mga higala, that Our Lord Jesus Christ, and his Heart of Love pardons all the sickness and faults. That our Lord cleansed an old man with leprosy by a mere word, whose Heart of Hearts is Love Undiminished. Whose Love is Absolute Infinity.

Ingoon ang Ginoo, "I am Willing! Be Clean!"

Gi command ra ang tao, immediately na limpyo na siya.

Ask It of Jesus, And He shall help you. Because He loves us so much..

Peace to all of you mga higala,
Bran

The path towards truth and understanding is never easy, mga higala, sometimes our paths are crossed by those who would subjugate our own understandings and our aspirations.

That is why we must defend ourselves, and continue our pilgrimage in the path towards Wisdom.

Honor Wisdom, and She shall exalt you.

Gener,

Mo agree ko nimo in the statement of human stubbornness and rebelliousness; not just in the field of religion and theological debate, but in other fields and other agencies in society.

To give an example, per se in the scientific research community, even if a researcher finds an explanation to a theory, given grafts, proofs, years worth of experiments--and genetic analysis to concretely proove an existance of a particular start codon for a diseased gene (AUG, UAA, UAG, UGA etc), and even if evidence prooves the following in crystalline strucuture, still, there are those who will not believe. Even if all scientific research and data are antagonistic to opposition.

There will never be an exact mechanism we can use to 'proove' the existence of the Mighty Creator because human mechanisms in research can only proove/disproove of a hypothesis via scientific method. And that requires physically analyzing and utilizing machines to analyze the consistency, composition of such material. We cannot do that in regards to the Divine. As The Divine is not in the physical, beyond the tangency of this realm. We are Because of Him.

We may not be able to 'proove' his existence, but we can point out mechanisms that sing to His glory. Per se genetic transcription, translation, elongation, DNA repair, Replication, Chromosomal mechanisms, physiological processes etc.

The Human notion of existentialism, the thought of "Why Am I Alive? Who Made Me? How Did I Get Here?" is providential and in some regards a reason why there is A God.

1When he came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him. 2A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean."

3Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" Immediately he was cured of his leprosy. 4Then Jesus said to him, "See that you don't tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."

-Matthew 8;1-4
