LGU Philippines / Re: Reviving the issue of Chacha
April 23, 2009, 04:53:44 AM

Usahay makahuna-huna ko nga kining kagubot sa Mindanao is a sabotage for personal gain of people who are now in power.

First, among the revisions of Charter Change or Cha-cha is to allow 100% land ownership by Foreigners. My fellow countrymen, we all know that Malaysian nationals are eyeing on Mindanao for the expansion of their Palm Oil Plantation, but these Malaysian companies were turned down by Mindanao Locals. So, if you are a powerful company who is desperate of achieving corporate objective, the best thing to do is look for loop-holes. These loop-holes are people in the government who can be bribed.

Hence, it is my theory that someone powerful & with evil intention have purposely double crossed to jeopardize the peace process in Mindanao. Their main purpose is to create havoc/chaos so that land owners would sell their lands at a very low cost to accomplice buyers (real estate compnies with proxy owners). At a bitter situation where one's stomach is a priority, no one would hesitate a simple lure/opportunity if someone wants to buy your land. With simple thinking any land owner would not hesitate to sell a property situated in a warzone!

Continuing to my theory:
Once the Charter Change will be ratified/pushed through (God Forbid) and enough lands are being bought, these people (proxy owners) will start selling their acquired lands to Malaysian Corporations, a Multi-Billion business. Someone in power would be featured in "Forbes Who's Who" in just an overnight deal.

The real danger is yet to be realized. Once the land rates are sky rocketing, we Filipinos  will wake up one day as squatters/landless in our own country as our next generation (children) could not afford anymore to buy their piece of Philippine soil.

How many of you folks are thinking what I was thinking?

Even I found skeptical issues raised by Malacañang Palace to divert the topic to weather or not "the president is extending her term".

But this is not the real issue of the Cha-cha folks. The real issue is where the big money is and that is the 100% land ownership of foreign nationals. That's why they need to sabotage the Peace Process in Mindanao.

I have a long-time dream that when I retire from my foreign job, I would invite my employer to do business in the Philippines with me as the sponsor and enjoy the 60/40 company ownership (60% filipino & 40% foreign ownership). However, this dream will not be realized with Cha-cha, because my employer would simply buy a land in the Philippines and I would still become his employee in my own country instead of his sponsor.

Please pass this idea to your friends if you love your country; if you still want your children to own a piece of Philippine land.

Bring back the death sentence. People are not afraid to commit unspeakable crimes anymore!

The murderers did not only slay our guest, but killed our reputation, image of the Boholano and the whole tourism industry (the livelihood of thousands) and our economy. Soon, our tourism facilities will turn into ghost towns. Children of families who depends on tourism will soon go hungry.

Bilar - Is named after a town and municipality located in the province of Álava, in the Basque Country, northern Spain.

Kini akong pangagpas lamang.

Pilipinas ra gyud ang nahuna-hunaan nato. What if kitang mga pinoy mo invade sa uban nga nasod in terms of business instead nga imong unayon imong isig ka pilipino.

How about kung mag tukod ta ug hotel or restaurant sa America or Canada?

Taas na man ni folks and hope you don't get bored kay giganahan ko ug type:

Example:

McDonalds invested in the Philippines
- Targeted consumers = Filipinos
- Cost of product covers all expenses including salaries of Employees, fuel and services.

Unsaon mo dawat man ug under the table ang atong mga agency sa govierno.

Sakto si Bambi nga kitang mga Pinoy or Bol-anon walay pagsinabtanay or walay unity. Colorful ta nga culture ug thats the beauty of it.

This is the law of life. Bright coloration of an organism tells the other "do not eat me, I'm poisonous". Everyone has its right to exist and has a place here as this is a free forum, but everything in this world has certain rules and guidelines to follow.

I suggest that members who are sensitive to certain jokes and names must declare like "hey, I don't want to be called this name or that name, etc". Like in hospital, you have to tell the nurses your blood type and your allergies.

Rules of moderators are to moderate tensions and I believe Dabinsi is doing just fine. I have seen in many cases that conflicts & personal attacks were subdued by simple laughter from Dabinsi and other peace loving TB members. It does'nt mean a moderator is a fault finder. To delete unjust posts is only the last option, after knowing the character of the person, communications and thoroughly weighing the case. I believe ethics should be on the top slot of every moderator's priority. Second should be to protect the interest, objectives and integrity of this beautiful site.

Everyone, member or moderators can be biased to his/her own belief. The only difference is moderators were given special responsibilities and tasks.

This is only my observation.

Di ba ang Philippines is for the Filipino? Sa atong constitution, ang usa ka foreigner can own 40% of the property with 60% Filipino partnership/sponsorship. Businesswise, the foreign partner's financial aspects; i.e. net profit, taxes, royalties, etc. are audited annually so not to deviate from the 60-40 rule.

However, the institutions we entrusted to protect our rights are prone to bribery and corruption. I am not talking my own words, but it has been proven as we witness the recent scandal of SEC and other government agencies.

With this kind of set-up, we the Filipinos will end-up as the loser. Foreign investors could run away with 100% of the profit by simply setting aside a small portion to bribe government auditors or the agency head.

With 100% ownership, we are making this whole thing legal. Think that taxes and employment are just peanuts compared to bigtime gains/profits. Puede lang sila maka own ug 100% sa property/business kung magpa convert sila as Filipino Citizenship.

Moreover, it is illegal to drive away people from beaches because according to our law, private ownership of rivers, estuaries, shorelines and national parks is prohibited.

I believe its got something to do with our Education system. We were tought by our teachers since grade school to study hard so when you graduate, you will earn your living as a worker. Our educational system pre-programed every students to become 'servants' and workers after graduation.

No school in this country is teaching students to study hard and build a company after graduation.

One time, I was outsourcing a product from Hong-kong for one of our marketing activity. When I called the company, the owner was travelling and his 16 year old daughter was left to attend international calls and querries. To my surprise, she is well rehearsed on their companies operation. I was dumbfounded on how well she know about trading at that tender age.

I am sad that even in our own country, you can find old/retireable people still working laborious tasks.

This is actually an eye opener to all Pinoys. You are right if you say Truth Hurts.

I remembered the story of the Koreans. When thier country was torn by decades of civil war and became the poorest country in Asia. As humanitarian assistance, Germany and Austria and other European countries offered jobs to thier working class to help rebuild thier country. Instead of becoming cheap labor forever, they acquired technology from their host country, went home and established thier own factories to export household products. They used the technology acquired from Mercedes Benz to build Hyundai, technology from Grundig TV to build Samsung and L.G. and other leading products you can see in the market today. This is called technology transfer. They have not wasted what they have learned and they used initiative instead of blaming their corrupt government then.

Finally, China understood the importance of preserving the environment by utilizing garbage or (utilising rubbish in British English).

This mentality must change. Our media is quite premitive still. Any Filipino reporter thinks the more gruesome is thier take, the more professional they are.

Such disturbing pictures must only be shown inside a court house. Besides the photos of the body is the greatest evidence that will be used during the court proceedings. Hence, this must be kept confidential as you are exposing vital marks & position in the victims body that may be used by the other party to twist the whole story.

An action has been taken officially by the Malacañang to condemn Chip Tsao's statement, spearheaded by senators and congressmen. Malacañang has ordered the Philippine consulate in Hongkong and Beijing to raise this issue to a deplomatic level and that the author be demanded to issue a public apology or sanctions will be imposed.

Also, the whereabouts of Chip's filipina maid had been traced and a team from the Philippine consulate will pull-out the maid's employement with Chip and transfer her to a decent employer.

Many Philippine groups rallied in the streets of Hong kong demanding apology from the author.

Some of the senators who were outraged expressed condemnation and planed to file an international court case against the author Chip Tsao &  the publishing company.

Roilo Golez campaigned for a boycott to all flights and services to Hong Kong for a period of 6 months to a year.

The publishing company already has withdrawn/removed the published article from their website, but Malacañang said it is not enough.

Soon Cheap Chow or Chip Tsao will become the Art Bell of China.

Remember folks about Art Bell's story back in 2004 when filipinos got outraged over his discriminating statement on a radio show saying "Filipinos make me puke"? Art Bell repented, issued an apology to Philippine daily inquirer and then got married to a filipina.

This guy Chip Tsao will issue an apology and will marry his maid.

Kinsa mang ang kamao mo himo ug wine, champagne, beer or whiskey adtong panahona?

So be it as suggested by Glacier. TUBA is the official drink of Sandugo Festival. Also, the color red of tuba symbolizes blood.

Raq, the real issue here is not the Phil-Chinese or Chinoys.

Chinese blood is just a component of the whole Filipino race. Each one of us has certain percentage of Chinese blood and I have high percentage of it being my great grandfather was a merchant from Macau.

We have no issues regarding the Chinese-Filipino Community or Chinoys.

Hence, let us focus our discussion to Chip Tsao and the Chinese red government who wants to own the whole of Spratlys islands.
#426
HK Magazine is not the issue here but the columnist Chip Tsao.

Of course HK Magazine would apologize in fear of loosing business.

This is not the first time that Tsao is involved in huge controversy.

In 2005, Tsao generated outrage from Western expatriates in Hong Kong as a result of his column. Quote: "Have Hong Kong girls stopped looking for "Mr White" (that described western men) who stayed in Hong Kong after the 1997 handover from the United Kingdom to China lived in dorms on Lamma Island or stone houses in Sai Kung that people used to "keep pigs in".

Being racist is already in his blood. He is a hard core.

I have no issues regarding the Chinese-Filipino Community or Chinoys.

As I said in other threads, I have high respects to them and they are more than heroes to me. They have no allegiance to the Chinese flag nor have any connection to the Red Government. They are simply Filipinos whos ancestors are freedom loving Chinese who fled from the chains of communism. The survivor factor & the hard-working legacy of thier parents are contributors of thier present success. They are the main players to our present economy.

Hence, lets focus our discussion to Chip Tsao and the Chinese government who wants to own the whole of Spratlys islands.

This is unfair treatment to us Filipinos. I find it very childish. The fact that no Chinese has opposed on this irresponsible act during day one only means that they are in agreement of this moronic act.

Little did Chip Tsao, the author know that we Filipinos are treating Chinese nationals fairly and with high respects? In fact we acknowledge one Chinese as Hero during the Fil-Am war. His name is General Jose Ignacio Paua, the only pure Chinese in the Philippine army.

Here’s a brief story of General Paua:
He was born on April 29, 1872 in a poor village of Lao-na in Fujian province, China. In 1890, he accompanied his uncle to seek his fortune in the Philippines. He worked as a blacksmith on Jaboneros Street, Binondo, Manila.

Paua joined the Katipunan in 1896. His knowledge as blacksmith served him in good stead.  He repaired native cannons called lantakas and many other kinds of weaponry. He set up an ammunition factory in Imus, Cavite where cartridges were filled up with home-made gunpowder. [On the side, he courted Antonia Jamir, Emilio Aguinaldo's cousin].

On June 12, 1898, when Aguinaldo proclaimed Philippine independence in Kawit, Cavite, Paua cut off his queue (braid). When General Pantaleon Garcia and his other comrades teased him about it, Paua said: "Now that you are free from your foreign master, I am also freed from my queue." [The queue, for the Chinese, is a sign of humiliation and subjugation because it was imposed on them by the Manchu rulers of the Qing dynasty. The Chinese revolutionaries in China cut off their queues only in 1911 when they finally toppled the Manchu government.]

On Oct. 29, 1898, Paua was included in the force led by General Vito Belarmino that was sent to the Bicol region; Belarmino assumed the position of military commander of the provinces of Albay, Camarines and Sorsogon.

On Jan. 20, 1900, the Americans invaded the Bicol region; Brig. Gen. William A. Kobbe's expeditionary force, comprising the 43rd and 47th Infantry Regiments U.S. Volunteers, and Battery G , 3rd Artillery, took the port of Sorsogon without resistance.

On Jan. 23, 1900 at Legaspi, Albay, General Paua and General Belarmino put up a strong resistance against the 47th US Infantry but in the end had to retreat; 7 Americans were wounded, and 50 Filipinos killed and wounded.

Paua married Carolina Imperial, a native of Albay; he retired in Albay and was once elected town mayor of Manito. He told his wife and children: “I want to live long enough to see the independence of our beloved country and to behold the Filipino flag fly proudly and alone in our skies.” His dream was not realized because he died of cancer in Manila on May 24, 1926 at the age of 54.   (RIGHT, Monument to General Paua in Silang, Cavite Province).

The late historian, Teodoro Agoncillo, described Paua as "More Filipino than many Filipinos."

His monument is found in every municipality of Albay.

What I am stressing is that Filipinos and Chinese are historical allies and allies means we are of mutual and of equal stand. There is no slave and no master.

Ignorance of this one person could ruin our good ties with China.

We do not have investigation protocol. His property should be wrapped with "police line do not cross" while the case is under investigation. No one should be allowed to touch anything inside Martin's house, even his wife.

Since there is no state prosecutor system in the Philippines, someone should stand on behalf of Marten as his next of kin and file a court case so that suspects/masterminds could be arrested, detained and investigated.

If nobody is bold enough to stand for Martin, then criminals will walk freely.

Our tourism industry has flourished over a short period. Undeniably, we the host are in a shortfall in terms of facilities, services, security, etc. to meet the influx.

However, we should keep the original plan of having a family oriented type of tourism packages such as eco-tourism and adventure tourism; i.e. regulate nightlife & drinking bars. This will avoid chaotic scenarios, common to a nightlife form of tourism.

One highlight of this package is our Catholic heritage such as Old Churches. Hence, let us also keep our Christian values and culture as part of the tourist attraction.

In short, we are celebrating too early while there are tons of works to do.

This is just going by what I've been told by people who live in the area:
A foreigner was shot, execution style in the head and found in the vicinity of the seawater swimming pool in Mansasa yesterday.  His motorbike was still there, parked nearby.

Ben, is this the case of Marten's? I am puzzled because the report of Pressy is stabbing 14 times and the rummors you got is shot execution style.

Would somebody clarify the matter?

Moreover, I suggest nga the additional year would be spent on employment training or entrepreneurship or a sort of economic survival training / financial literacy.

So what the students have learnt in theory could be applied in practical use and on actual life situation.

In States or in any advanced countries, the spouse will be the main suspect of any death. In the states, there are government prosecutors as well as private investigators to hound the case.

In the Philippines, the suspect will be set free if no case is filled against him in 24 hours.

This type of system in the Philippines must be changed.

Yes, filipinos have more freedom than the states and we don't have a death sentence. That same freedom would be subject to abuse that kept us locked inside our house for fear of our lives, ironically.

This must be changed.

My condolences to Marten's family.

I emailed freind of Marten in England he is very upet in his email as he had just went back home from Tagbilaran.

I did not go into detail but i did let him know that I and my publisher had gone there togive our respects at the morgue.

I told him that I am prresently trying to do what marten would want me to do in this sittuation.

That would be tostart up a foreigner association group to help foreigners who are victims of crime.

I also told him we will do our best in the media as far as the Bohol Standard and the Bohol chroncle are in partnership to cover this story.

In janurary I had taken this write up on the first attempted homicide to the Sunday Post but Boy Guing the publisher did not expose the story.

I am sure they will jump on it now that he has been murdered.

This late afternoon I would like all foreigners living here to meet at brewspoint to discuss our safety here while in Bohol.
We should make a statement so that Governer can get it by Governers report and make some actions on how he plans to better everyones safety.

I will be inviting guest speakers to talk with the group today here in Tagbilaran.

This is an invitation letter to all foreigners visiting and living here in bohol as either short term or as a permanent resident. Please contact my in box if you are attending the emergency meeting today o get the ball rolling for a safer Bohol

Thanks Pressy for this initiative.

This is very shameful to all of us Boholanos. They are our guests and we supposed to treat them fairly and look after thier safety, but what happened now? Where is our hospitality?

Our image is ruined and I find it hard to face and tell this story to any of my foreigner friends.

Last month, I told in separate thread that I invited one our British consultant who's daughter (now in New Zealand) once worked for Bohol Government to take inventory of Raja Sikatuna wild life. We had a plan to go to Bohol this TBTK. Sadly, he declined and I also told him that it is very risky and I can not guarantee his safety.

Hopefully, the Bohol leaders would pass a bill to intensify police force in tourism zones, not in terms of quantity but of quality.

Nakalimot na raba ko ug algebra (20 years ago pa to):

X = kadaghanon sa tamsi

X + X + X/2 + X/4 + 1 = 100

2X + X/2 + X/4 + 1 = 100

Greatest common denominator is = 4 (sakto ba ni nga term?)
(8X + 2X + X) + 1 = 100
-----------------
       4

11X/4 = 100 - 1

X = (100 - 1) times 4/11

Gamitan ug calculator

X = 36

Mas lisod man noon kung gamitan ug equation.

Education became commercialized and it became a gateway to employment rather than to learning. Students are programmed/brainwashed to become employees or slaves, rather than employers or Innovators.

In old days, people go to school because they want to learn and not because they want to work after graduation. Thier purpose is to master and improve that field so that they could contribute something to humanity. Back then, people study engineering, arts, medicine or history so that they could preserve the basic principles, make some innovations and teach it to the next generation.

You may notice that very few people study music and history because commercial demand for these fields are very limited.

Jose Rizal did not study optometry because he wants to work in an optical shop. He did not study history or different languages because he wants to work in a translation company. He study because of his passion and he want to improve things.

I am talking here about Philippine scenario.

Sorry if my grammar is bad. It only reflects the quality of educational system we have in our country.

Murder plus mutilation/mockery is not simply killing, but an emotional aspect is involved. Moreover, robbery is not the motive/link to the killing.

Hence, one should conclude that deep seated anger and human emotion is the motive of this all.

Clearly, this is not a work of a hired killer, but I strongly believed the assasin/antagonist is the aggreived person.

Hence, investigation should revolve closely around the victim's contacts.

Hope this helps solve the crime and speed up justice.

Thanks Pressy for your inspiring comment. You are indeed right. The problem with our society now is we became self-centered enough that we are inconsiderate of the general welfare of our society.

People commit corruption or crime to make himself rich (self interest).
At the same time, people don't testify because they fear of their own lives (again self interest).

Nobody supports each other anymore, nobody is willing to sacrifice, this is an image of a crumbling society.

This is not what Christ has taught us to sacrifice for others and we declare ourselves as christians.

It was actually imbarrassing on the part of China being a huge country against a very tiny Taiwan. I praise Taiwans leader not only of bravery, but for being stubborn against China's bluf. Taiwan is firm on its belief that international community would not just stand silent specially the US.

China protested the signing of the baselines bill, describing it as “illegal.” But the Philippine government maintained that it was standing by its claim to the Spratly Islands and Scarborough Shoal -- an area potentially rich in oil.

The baselines law excludes the disputed Kalayaan Group of Islands and Scarborough Shoal in defining the country’s baseline points as an archipelago, treating them instead as part of a “regime of islands.”

Still, China was adamant that the Philippines was claiming its territories in the Spratlys, particularly Huangyan Island and Nansha Islands.

Gonzales said the Chinese protest could be considered as a form of diplomatic “posturing.”

Press Secretary Cerge Remonde described on Sunday Beijing’s move as a “normal conduct in international diplomacy.”

I don't understand why China called it "Illegal" to sign the baseline bill. Is China above the international law? Why are they so confident with thier statement; what are their basis?

If we allow an inch, one day China will claim the whole Philippines based on historical facts.

MANILA, Philippines -- China’s dispatch of a state-of-the-art patrol ship in the South China Sea does not necessarily smack of gunboat diplomacy, according to Malacañang, but the Palace has admitted it was taking this action seriously.

National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales said on Sunday he decided to call for an immediate meeting of the Cabinet’s security group to discuss the Chinese action in the wake of Beijing’s protest over the signing of the Philippine Archipelagic Baselines Law.

“The deployment of the patrol ship was a message and we cannot just ignore it,” Gonzales told the Philippine Daily Inquirer in a phone interview. “We have to take it seriously.”

China’s state media reported on Sunday that the People’s Republic of China dispatched its “most modern patrol ship” in the South China Sea following an incident with a US naval vessel and the signing of the Philippine baselines law.

“This should remind us that even in this era of dialogue and understanding in the world, there will always be nations that will show might and threaten perceived weak nations like us,” Gonzales said.

Gonzales said the meeting of the national security cluster would tackle the Philippine government’s response to the ship deployment in the context of the 2002 Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea.

“That’s where we should be going,” he said. “The only thing we can do is to resort to diplomacy.”

In the declaration, China and Southeast Asian nations agreed to “exercise self-restraint in the conduct of activities that would complicate or escalate disputes and affect peace and stability including, among others, refraining from action of inhabiting the presently uninhabited islands, reefs, shoals, cays, and other features and to handle their differences in a constructive manner.”

“We should not be worried about it,” he said in his Sunday media forum on state-owned Radyo ng Bayan. “The United Nations will be the final arbiter of the issue.”

Remonde maintained that the baselines law was consistent with requirements of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.

“What our President and our government [officials] did was in accordance to their sworn constitutional duty which is to uphold and protect the sovereignty of our country,” he said.

He said the Philippine government would also have lodged a similar diplomatic protest if China or other claimants of the disputed island came up with an official action similar to the baselines law.

No official reaction has been issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs, but a DFA official who did not wish to be named said that the Chinese move seemed to comply with the 2002 declaration, particularly its provision on notification coursed through official media.

The Beijing News said the Chinese vessel would conduct patrols of what it called China’s exclusive maritime zone in the disputed waters surrounding the Paracel and Spratly Islands, according to Agence France Presse.

The report said that the converted naval rescue ship would aid Chinese fishing boats and transport vessels.

Tensions in the area rose when the United States sent destroyers to international waters off southern China to protect a naval surveillance patrol that was involved in a stand off with Chinese vessels.

China said the US patrol vessels were within its 200-kilometer economic exclusive zone, but the United States insisted they were in international waters.

The Spratly and Paracel island chains have been flash points for years.

The Spratlys are claimed in full or part by China and Vietnam as well as the Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei and Taiwan, and the Paracels are claimed by China, which now occupies them, as well as by Vietnam and Taiwan.

Since I was in high school I've heared this story too.

By the way, Deuterium is the main component/substance for the controversial "Cold Fusion" theory claimed by two scientists Pons and Flieschmann. However, they become silent which led to rummors of pay-off from major oil corporations.

(from Wikepedia)
Cold fusion (sometimes referred to as low energy nuclear reaction (LENR) studies or condensed matter nuclear science[1]) refers to nuclear fusion which occurs without the extremely high temperatures (millions of degrees Celsius) required for thermonuclear fusion â€" for example, muon-catalysed fusion.

Cold fusion made worldwide news headlines in March 1989, when Martin Fleischmann and Stanley Pons held a news conference in which they reported producing nuclear fusion in a tabletop experiment involving electrolysis of heavy water on a palladium (Pd) electrode.[2] They reported anomalous heat production ("excess heat") of a magnitude they asserted would defy explanation except in terms of nuclear processes.[3] They further reported measuring small amounts of nuclear reaction byproducts, including neutrons and tritium.[4] These reports raised hopes of a cheap and abundant source of energy.[5]

Indeed, Mr. Ferniz.

It is of strategic interest for the Republic due to its possible role in contributing to the Philippines--our own indigenous sustainable resource. And we have a reason for it. With the Republic's population soaring--and expected to hit over 100 Million in less than a decade, the Republic is hungry for energy.

The Scarborough Shoals and the Spratlys is the answer to our needs. The Philippines, literally, is sitting on top of a gold mine.

Another gold mine is the Marianas Trench that lies within Philippine Territorial Claims. The Marianas Trench is estimated to hold untold amount of billions of gallons of oil.
The oil is there; the Philippines merely needs to develop the method to extract it.

The Republic is rich in natural resources. All we have to do now, is to protect and ascertain our resources. And defend it from hungry mouths of our neighbours. Especially one that lies to our west. China is the largest threat to Philippine territorial sovereignty.

Lorenzo,

The gold mine you said in the Marianas Trench is not oil, but huge deposit of Deuterium or "Heavy Water" the fuel of the future.

(from Wikipedia)
Heavy water is water that contains a higher proportion than normal of the isotope deuterium, as deuterium oxide, D2O or ²H2O, or as deuterium protium oxide, HDO or ¹H²HO.[1] Its physical and chemical properties are somewhat similar to those of water, H2O.

One of the reasons why we should have the Spratlys is because it is mostly un-inhabited. We can install a Nuclear Power Plant over there and transport electricity via cable to mainland. With this, it can solve our high cost of energy. We can run factories the clean, emission free way and has less threat to the population.

Guam can not be called a country because of its size and it was also considered as part of Hawaii Mainland. It was utilised as a refueling station until the majority of its residents were those who were from American Mainland. Guam like the Philippines and Puertorico were bought by the Americans from the Spanish through Treaty of Paris.

In the case of Puerto Rico, it was only the people who were given US Citizenship Puerto Rico remained as a country. They have every right as Americans like to vote, but not inside Puertorican territory. They were given the previledge of US citizenship as reward because the US used them during world war 1. Only citizenship, but the country is theirs. See the generousity of the Americans.

The Philippines is americas strategic pet, not an ally.

If they treated us like friends, they should have considered the Philippines, not as a protectorate during the American occupation, but a territory, where our people should have enjoyed rights and privileges similar to the citizens of america.

Let me answer your question as to why we were not considered as US territory after two wars. When during that time, the Philippines was left defenseless.

It was simply because of the following reasons:
1. The US had greater problem of rebuilding thier nation after the war which they kept as priority.

2. After two successive wars, America gained a clean image as liberators, educators and freedom fighters. They sort of maintained that reputation. If they had acquired the Philippines as one of thier state or territories, it would spoil thier image and they would have labeled as emperialist. So, if you thought the America is an emperialist nation, then why had they not captured Japan when it surrendered and defenseless?

3. During the war, many lives were lost. A word is worth a thousand lives and materialism is only limited to utility, money have no value and heroism is flaming inside every american heart. Should Mc Arthur had forgotten his words, we would not be liberated from Japanese tyranny.

It was a totaly different situation then and now that both can not be equated.

I believe that it was the immature/unqualified Philippine leadership after the liberation that led us to this present misery.

America has changed over the years. Many of its known enemies are now integrated in its society and enjoying its freedom. They may now be a different race, but I believe that America still follows the ideals of G.I. Joe.

Calling someone Fat or Big
Where It’s Offensive: Bohol

I have experienced twice.

What You Should Do Instead: Call her beautiful.

:o So what I am big Mackey!

You have a problem with it? I would have a problem next to someone who is standing below 5 inches tall.

No I was not spying I was not hiding I was there with my daughter enjoying my Friday spending time with her over fruit juice and donuts not like the parents here who allow they're kids to go out and drink and smoke and get drunk how it is happening here now.

I beleive in spending time wih family and quality time. My daughter is not interested in sleeping around or wearing come and get me boy clothes, or is she interested in in drinking or having any relationships with men yet and she is 18 years old.
Many girls these days here have really changed a lot and it shocks me when I do not see the behaived polite Boholana as much as I use to.

Back to the main topic-I am sure today's edition of the chronicle will come out with the filing matter with Daarol againstArlene.
It was really to bad it happend to begin with. Often I hate to leave my house just for what my freinds will be telling me. I am tired of all the fighting and the meaness happening here.

You have to live here to know what I am saying.

Take care!

I said you are beautiful Pressy.
