For men, the skinny jean fashion trend may have an unexpected side effect: experts are warning that the surge of tight-jean popularity among men is sparking a rise in painful testicular problems.
Medical experts, including UK television personality Dr. Hilary Jones, have reported an increase in injuries being caused by tight jeans, cites The Telegraph on Wednesday. "The trendy denims are causing twisted testicles, bladder weakness, and even urinary tract infections."

Twisted testicles is a serious condition that occurs "when tight trousers prevent the spermatic cord from moving freely, meaning it twists and leads to testicular torsion which cuts off the blood supply requiring immediate surgery to prevent a gangrenous testicle," noted the report.

Other dreaded side effects from overly tight jeans: low sperm count and fungal infections.

According to the UK press, Jones is working with TENA, a maker of hygienic products for people with incontinence, on a project to highlight the dangers.

''I have seen several cases of men who have twisted their testicles due to wearing jeans that are far too tight," she reportedly said. ''My advice would be to make sure you leave plenty of room around the groin area and that your [under]pants and trousers feel comfortable so you're not being restricted in any way."

''Please don't put style before health,'' Jones added.

For women, wearing skinny jeans can increase one's chances of developing a vaginal yeast infection. Plus for both sexes, tight jeans have found to raise the risk of nerve compression, which can lead to tingling or numb thighs, according to health and fitness website RealBuzz.

5. Get a uniform set of hangers.

Sometimes, all a messy space needs is some streamlining.

A messy walk-in closet will get an instant sprucing up with a uniform set of hangers.

Group clothes according to category (short sleeved tops, long sleeved tops, pants, shorts, long dresses, short dresses, evening dresses, etc.).

Your closet will be more functional and cleaner to look at.

4. Buy a box of Ziploc bags.

Use the bags to store knickknacks and keep them dust-free.

Label your bags and store them in a catchall box.

Resist the urge to just dump all your random items without sorting through themâ€"even storage boxes will benefit from labeling.
#39111

3.  Keep in mind that people use only 20% of the things they own.

Professional organizers go by the adage that people can do without 80% of what they own. So, when sorting through your stuff, don’t let sentimentality get the better of you. Make practical decisions.

For example:

KEEP: Old books from childhood.
THROW: Math notebooks from grade school.

KEEP: Pretty paper bags you can reuse in the future.
THROW: Dried-up mascara in pretty packaging.

TIP: Before throwing something away, ask yourself how essential it is to you. What’s the worst that can happen if you decide to throw it away?
#39112
2.  Categorize and label.

Categorize the stuff you sort through. Keep one pile for electronics, another for work materials, another for entertainment, and so forth.

Put small objects of the same category in bins or boxes and label them. All you need is a roll of masking tape and a felt-tip pen!

Staying organized even while sorting will help keep your head above water throughout the process.
#39113

1.  Clear out stuff over a period of 2 to 3 weekends.

Don’t underestimate how much time they need to clear things out. You may just be working with a 25 sq. m. studio or even just one closet, but many people underestimate how much time they need to clear things out. Organizing is a physical task and can be time-consuming so plan accordingly.

How to win the battle against clutter
By Chinggay Labrador, Pretty Does It | Yahoo! SHE â€" Mon, Jul 9, 2012 1:46 PM PHT

Don’t wait until the end of the year to get rid of all the unnecessary items you’ve accumulated so far.
If you do it nowâ€"halfway into the yearâ€"it’s going to be less of a challenge to rummage through piles of paper, racks of unworn clothes and stacks of books and old magazines.

Remember that eliminating clutter can transform your space dramatically and leave you feeling lighter.

But, before you start dumping everything into garbage bags, keep these organizing tips in mind.

“Galactic Suite,” the first hotel planned in space, expects to open for business in 2012 and would allow guests to travel around the world in 80 minutes.

Guest would be able to “see the sun rise 15 times a day and use Velcro suits to crawl around their rooms by sticking themselves to the walls,” But what about the price? Yep, truly out of the world: $4 million each for a three-day stay! (Reuters)

Open with a prop, not a line

A sure fire way to grab your guests’ attention is with no words at all; simply appear before your guests with an intriguing prop. Try using a pillow, and state that you will need it for all those nights you’ll spend in the doghouse, or simply walk on stage with a mop, stating that it will be needed to mop up all the tears after your heartfelt speech. Or go down the cheesy route and whip out some glue or Velcro, suggesting that the newlyweds must stick together throughout their married lives. Cheesier still, offer a box of child’s building blocks, stating that as a married couple they must work together to build their lives.

The bridal insult opening line

Opening your speech with a line such as; ‘how do you turn a fox into an elephant? By marrying her’, will make you a hit with the groomsmen, for sure, but what about the poor woman you said ‘I do’ to only hours earlier? Use this kind of humour wisely â€" even if your wife is a laidback lass, all women have feelings and will not take kindly to being insulted in front of their entire family and all their friends. If you’re brave enough to venture this kind of opening line, be prepared for a honeymoon of ear bashing and dirty looks (and you can forget the wedding night!).
#39121

The classic groom’s opening line

Many people are of the opinion that during the wedding speeches, the humour and puns should be left to the best man â€" largely as he can get away with more than the groom can! In this school of thought, the groom’s speech should be heartfelt and thankful to the guests for their presence and presents. If you’re playing it safe, then simply go with; ‘My beautiful wife and I would like to thank you all for coming today to share our special day with us.’ You’ll get a few jibes from your groomsmen for being ‘cheesy’, but you’ll win the hearts of the in-laws and your wife’s pals.
#39122

The short and sweet groom’s opening line

If the wedding day up until this point has been drawn out and guests are starting to wilt like the bride’s bouquet, then short and snappy opening lines will grab their attention and regain their focus (particularly if the grandparents have started to drift off). Starting your speech with the likes of; ‘I have a dream... oh sorry, that’s the wrong speech!’, injects the humour required while allowing you to continue with a pretty standard groom’s speech afterwards. This ‘less is more’ approach keeps it simple which means less work for you!
#39123

The crude wedding speech

The wedding day is all about timing, and the groom’s speech is no exception. Toilet humour should always be used with caution as many are adverse to it â€" remember what you were told as a kid; there is a time and place! In this case, don’t time this speech too close to the wedding breakfast; guests about to tuck into their delicious three course meal, or contentedly digesting their slice of wedding cake may not be impressed with any toilet humour, no matter how funny you and your groomsmen find it. However , this one’s a little more subtle; ‘this is the second time today I've got up off a nice warm seat with a piece of paper in my hand.’
#39124

The mother-in-law insult speech

Digs at the mother-in-law are age-old and crop up oh too easily at weddings. Hopefully, yours is laidback and has a sense of humour â€" but even if you think you know her, always think twice! If you’re going to risk the in-law silent treatment and risk offending the entire bridal family, then use this beauty; ‘my plan was to deliver a very short speech today, but then I remembered that this would be the only opportunity that I would have with my wife and mother-in-law in the same room and not get interrupted, so I may be some time!’. Cue tumbleweed moment or an uproar of laughter â€" it’s a gamble which reaction you will provoke!

The cheeky groom’s speech

We all know that no matter how old a member of the male species is, they never truly grow up â€" the cheeky chap they were as a child will forever be part of them. So it’s no wonder that opening lines from the groom such as the following make an appearance at many a wedding breakfast; ‘my speech will be like a mini skirt; long enough to cover the essentials, but short enough to hold your attention!’. Use this cheeky speech opener only if you’re guaranteed your male mates will back you up, as your wife may not be as amused.

(KATAPUSAN)

Sugilanon ni Alberto A. Alforque
Tuyan, Naga City, Cebu

Kissing could ease allergy symptoms. If those sniffles are due to seasonal allergies and not something contagious, it may be a good idea to go through with the smooch after all. A small Japanese study found that couples who kissed for 30 minutes had lower levels of allergen-specific IgE, the proteins that trigger pesky symptoms like sneezing and wheezing.

Kissing eases stress. That feeling of relaxation post-kiss isn't all in your head. A small 2009 study measured levels of the bonding hormone oxytocin and the stress hormone cortisol in pairs of kissing college students, the AP reported. Both men and women experienced a decline in cortisol, a sign of relaxation, that was much greater than when they just held hands.

Kissing boosts immunity. There's no denying the fact that when you lock lips, there are bound to be some germs, uh, exchanged. One specific bug can be particularly hazardous to pregnant women, but researchers believe kissing is a way to introduce the virus to a woman in small doses before she conceives, triggering her body to build up a resistance to it before she could ever pass it on to a child, according to Popular Science. However, if your partner in crime is visibly ill, it's still a good idea to hold off on that kiss, as it's still an easy way to catch mono, strep throat and herpes, among other things.

Kissing burns calories. Okay, so we're not talking the equivalent of a trip to the gym, but hey, every little bit counts, right? Locking lips can burn anywhere from two to six calories a minute, according to Self.com. You're also putting a whole slew of facial muscles to work when you pucker up, and just a few minutes of extra attention to those muscles can make a big difference when it comes to the appearance of frown lines or less-than-perky cheeks, according to the Daily Mail.

Kissing is good for your teeth. There's a reason a kiss is called a "wet one" -- smooching stimulates saliva production, which can actually wash harmful bacteria off the teeth, Mathew Messina, D.D.S., told WebMD and reduce plaque buildup, according to Glamour.com.
