lol, emo times.

Just know and be confident that you changed her life for the better.
Imagine, she was probably trafficked to work in such a situation.

Mao lagi, some good deeds are not rewarded, but the greatest of deeds don't need physical reward, because the most important person that has seen the action and has observed the goodness of people is the ONE that can save souls or banish them.

Ang GINOO sa LANGIT.

MOST IMPORTANT of all people, and things. Ang GINOO nato sa Langit.
Kini siya dili buta, dili bongol, dili motulug. Always listening, knowing, observing.
Mao na atong Ginoo.
All Glory, Honor, and Praise go to HIM.
Unending praise, by all the choirs and saints in Heaven.

Take care, jamo.
You're also another role model for young men.

To fellow medical colleagues, friends, fellow listeners, and all persons interested in this thread.

Please know that I have not forgotten about this thread. I just have been so busy with reviews. I will make a video on Anti-Hypertensive Drugs and conditions relating CCF and CHF. [Congestive cardiac failure and Chronic Heart Failure]

It will cover the following:
1. Etiology of the disease
2. Possible Drug candidates
3. Drug Mode of Action/ Mechanism of Action
4. Indications of Drugs
5. Adverse Effects of Drugs/ Side Effects

---
Due to the shear workload I am having, my constancy in video making has been limited, and am only able to go online at night or during medical breaks. So let me apologize lang if i have not posted videos for a while, please note that i have not forgotten this thread. I promise i shall make a doubly great video. hehe.

Again, I want to reiterate: If any of you have any questions, a query of a medical condition, possible drug treatments, action etc, just please jot it down and ask lang. I would love to try to answer it to the best of my limited knowledge. Or if i do not know, i will ask my medical professors and seek their advise and recommendation---and then share it in here.

All questions, all interests, are welcome here.
Remember, when it comes to medicine and health, there is no such thing as 'second choice'. It is very important.

Your Friend and Colleague,
Bran Lorenzo

PS. Keep me and my batchmates in your prayers, I ask. We need the hand and grace of God to be with us--especially in this most crucial of times. Thanks, guys.

diuretics
sympatholytic drugs ( alpha blockers, beta blockers)
angiontensin converting enzyme inhibitors
calcium channel blockers
vasodilators

---

Go Acetebutelol and Carvedilol!
Mixed alpha and beta blockers!
Good for pregnant women with mild to moderate HTN, and people with cocaine-induced HTN
Good for African/Black patients as well. (genetic racial predisposition).

Remember Prazosin is drug of choice for pts with dyslipidemia, and prostatic hyperplasia.

Sir, i cannot help but remember my Lolo right now. I am here in the library 4:14 AM diri sa US time. But your post about my lolo has my mind afixed towards him and our conversations when he stayed with us for some time in 2003-2005.

When my Lolo and I would go walking around the neighborhood and or just talk for hours sa living room--i would ask him about his life as a driver, a farmer etc. All these things that ive heard from my mom lang.

And to hear it from my own Lolo's mouth was very humbling for me. Here--was a man who was the one that sent my mother and aunt to nursing school and 2 of my uncles to engineering school and my other uncle to graduate school---just by working as a truck driver. a humble truck driver. I would be nothing--not even here had it not been for the sacrifices of my Lolo Ciano.

Pero naka hinuktuk lang ko--because i remember baya sa una when i asked him how much he would charge for trips around Valencia, Garcia Hernandez, Jagna etc etc. Mo katawa rapood si lolo (with his very warm and lolo-ish laughter) mo ingoon rapood sija nako, "ah basta dili lagi mahal, doy, kananag barata rapood, gud". :)

Ingoon sijan nako sa una kono ug walay kwarta ang tawo para sa plete, mo accept kono si lolo with payment as in: saging, camote, potato, sometimes tagaan pood sija sabao, konon-on rapood.

I was surprised pood. Ingkoon pood ko, "Really, Lolo? You accepted that too?"

Mo respond pood si lolo with his very quaint and Taga-Anas tone, "Oo gud, ug walay kwarta ang tawo para sa plete, okay rapood if tagaan pood ko saging ra. Tagaan man pood ko sa grasya sa Ginoo."

That really imprinted on my mind.

"Tagaan pood ko sa grasya sa Ginoo."

I do believe it. I really do. My lolo is a very good man. Mao na he is beloved by all of his apos. Ako, mingaw mingaw ko kaayo sa ahong Lolo Ciano.
Maka remember ra pood ko niya sa imung posts, Sir.

Salamat kaayo.

Because i am crying--but it is because of beautiful memories. Gusto najud ko mo balik sa Philippines uy. Gusto ko maka sulti ni Lolo ug mo gakus sa ahong Lolo.

Bible Study / Re: Prayer For Life [30 Days]
June 10, 2009, 03:43:11 PM
DAY 11

Matthew 6:25-26

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

God provides, therefore we must protect

It seems that everyone these days is on one of those designer diets. What about a diet of heavenly food? Billions of dollars are spent each year on diet plans in order to shed those hard to lose pounds, to look younger, or feel better.  It seems that Americans are deeply worried about their health, their weight, and how they look.  But Jesus tells us to stop worrying so much about our bodies, trusting, rather, in God’s care for our physical needs

What would happen if the people who had started on a low-carb diet this year had instead gone on a diet of heavenly food? For non-believers that diet would include trusting in Christ for their salvation, and for believers it would include a renewed prayer life, a new Bible study, or even a spiritual fast during Advent or Lent. The kind of diet I am suggesting doesn’t include giving up on certain kinds of foods.  What this diet includes is giving up on anxiety by resting in the loving arms of Christ, trusting that He will provide. Such a spiritual diet frees us from our worries and allows us to freely praise Him and serve others.  “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”

This promised provision teaches us the inestimable worth of our lives.  We are to be persuaded that He will not allow us to go without.  This intimate knowledge and care for human life on the part of our gracious God is what motivates us to trust him for our own lives and seek for the preservation of all human life no matter what needs they may have.

Loving heavenly Father, help us to see the worth of all human beings by the way in which you provide for us. We would ask that you provide also the faith, grace and courage to enable us to protect that which is so precious to you. Through Christ our Lord, amen.

Wisdom of God

The Wisdom of Father God
is the very waters that perculates in the seas
His are the very rain waters that falls from the Heavens that waters the Earth.
His are the secrets of Life--from the budding of the first spring flower
to the death of the smallest ant.

His Wisdom is Truth, that comes from His very own mouth.

His Wisdom complements our weaknesses.  Ask for help, and He will provide.

Jesus, help us in our weaknesses and understandings. :)

Amen.

And remember, Rupa, don't forget that when we are treating a patient with only hypertension, if that patient is below the age of 55 and not suffering any other ailments aside from hypertension,

The first action will inlcude treating that individual with ACE-inhibitors.
If that does not produce wanted outcome, we will add treatment with Calcium Channel Blockers.

And if that does not help, we will utilize a combined treatment of:
ACE-Inhibitors, Calcium channel blockers and Thiazide Diuretics.

Loving this 'stuff,

Honor Thy Father And Mother

We hear it everyday, and we must honor it. Honor your Father and your Mother. The persons who brought you to life, raised you, provided for you, and taught you and disciplined you towards righteousness and Love and Fear of God.

The most basic relationship in Life that signifies a relationship with The Almighty is through your Father and your Mother.

As Our Heavenly Father is the Father of all Fathers. :)

Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
He guides the humble in what is right
and teaches them his way.
All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful
for those who keep the demands of his covenant.
For the sake of your name, O Lord,
forgive my iniquity, though it is great.
Who, then, is the man that fears the Lord?
He will instruct him in the way chosen for him.

Yes you are right, I think you are referring to the Laying Of Hands, the literal continuation of the bishoprics--which is the foundation of the Christian Church--and to which the Catholic Church's roots are transcended from.

In biblical doctrine, technically, all Christians who profess and actively believe in Christ and in His message and accept Christ as Salvation Eternal are considered the Elect. Saints.

But yes, I agree with your message, Buwad.

Excellent job, Federer.

Yes, Pare is correct.

A Disciple of Christ is a follower of Christ.

The Apostles were the chosen 12. Men who were charged by Christ to baptize and proclaim in The Name of the Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit.

The 12 Apostles were told to proclaim the Lord, and the Gospel of Christ.

They were anointed by the Holy Spirit during Pentecost.

The 12 apostles are the foundations of the bishopric of the Church.

Theirs is the Apostolic Tradition. The laying of blessings and appointment by hand.

And Peter was, indeed, the head of the apostles.

Hello, Pare, yes pare I understand your situation. I am sorry lang to hear the medical situation over there in Germany is becoming more like over here in the states. That is the major problem over here, medically speaking, is that there is no universal health plan. 40 million people are not covered medically; majority of which are children and low-income families.

All my regrets, all my acclaims
The joy and the pain, I'm making them yours
(Chorus)
Lord, I offer my life to you
Everything I've been through
Use it for your glory
Lord I offer my days to you
Lifting my praise to you
As a pleasing sacrifice
Lord I offer you my life

Things in the past, things yet unseen
Wishes and dreams that are yet to come true
All of my heart, alll of my praise
My heart and my hands are lifted to you
(Chorus)
Lord, I offer my life to you
Everything I've been through
Use it for your glory
Lord I offer my days to you
Lifting my praise to you

That you have not given?
And what do we have
That is not already yours?
All we possess

Bible Study / Jesus On Swearing
June 07, 2009, 05:20:06 PM
Jesus Said:

But I say to you, do not swear at all; not by heaven, for it is God's throne;
nor by the earth, for it is his footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
Do not swear by your head, for you cannot make a single hair white or black.
Let your 'Yes' mean 'Yes,' and your 'No' mean 'No.' Anything more is from the evil one.

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 12:40-44

Jesus sat down opposite the treasury and observed how the crowd put money into the treasury. Many rich people put in large sums.
A poor widow also came and put in two small coins worth a few cents.
Calling his disciples to himself, he said to them, "Amen, I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the other contributors to the treasury.
For they have all contributed from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has contributed all she had, her whole livelihood."

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 28:16-20.

The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had ordered them.
When they saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted.
Then Jesus approached and said to them, "All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age."

Bible Study / Gospel Of The Day
June 07, 2009, 05:02:20 PM
Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 12:28-34.

One of the scribes, when he came forward and heard them disputing and saw how well he had answered them, asked him, "Which is the first of all the commandments?"
Jesus replied, "The first is this: 'Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is Lord alone!
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.'
The second is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."
The scribe said to him, "Well said, teacher. You are right in saying, 'He is One and there is no other than he.'
And 'to love him with all your heart, with all your understanding, with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself' is worth more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices."
And when Jesus saw that (he) answered with understanding, he said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." And no one dared to ask him any more questions.

We must let our hearts be confident to tell our loved ones. Tell them, so they can see your inner beauty. And knees will buckle, hearts shall flutter, eyes shall twinkle, and stomachs shall ache with butterflies.

Let it out. Love is beautiful, isn't it? ;D

Lorenzo come back to Bohol they need talented medics to help fill in the Drs gap of so many Dr's per every so many thousands of people.

Please come back Philippine Philippine medical persons to help out your country and provide the best medical care that you learned while abroad and share with your own brothers and sisters here.

Maybe have a clinic open here half a year and another office open abroad for the second half of the year.

:)

Priscilla,

I'm planning to join medical missions, pohon. I should try to work on a Filipino Medical Student Mission to Bohol. More work to go, ma'am. Medical school arduous and long. 4 years proper study--then another 3-4 years of residency specialty.

I do have it in my interest to visit Bohol soon. Maluuy ang Ginoo.

I hear there will be a medical mission in Bohol this year tho. Is this true? And what region? In Tagbilaran?

Dear Virginia,

It is 3:15 am right now. A sunday morning. American time.

Its so quiet here in the site, and as i read over some reviews--and type up some notes--and take a break and read into TB, i cant help but notice how quiet it is.

Last year, if i was up this late, i would always count on having you to talk to---and just to chit-chat with especially in the dead of the night.

I miss being able to talk to you, and talking to you in Spanish.

Senorita, you left a huge hole in here. Adios, Senorita Virginia..

The thought of you crossed my mind
I don't want to tell but you've always been an outlet
So here, I decided to share it online
Reaching out,  this is the nearest that I can get

This might be another of my good for nothing plan
But this time I am determined to be on my own
I want to show everybody that I can
And especially, for you to know that now I have grown

I am scared of what I'm about to do
My mind's all set for greener pastures next year.
I have all the back up that I need so I can go
So despite this fear, I will not stay here

God-willing, the crisis will stop
Yet I’m sure it wouldn't be abrupt
I am feeling its' effect already
That's another reason for all the hurry

I wish I could go back to being carefree
Wherein our playtime was my only worry
But I need to put my life on track
And have the broken part get intact.

Worry not of how I'll be
I will make you proud of me you'll see
You will be a priority when things get lovely
Panaceas after all are treasured securely.

For the sake of Senor Dr. Jose P. Rizal!

Por Favor, para Senor Rizal!

The irony of the situation, the great man and mind that was Rizal, the very root of many papers, intellectual discussions, the focal point of Filipino History and Revolutionary Thought, for Asian Liberation from Colonial Oppression, itself.

Rizal, the great mind himself, was even quoted by Mahatmas Gandhi.

And all the while, the Great Malayan Himself, Senor Doctor Jose Potracio Rizal y Alonzo, would have his home turned green.

It should have been preserved in its original color.
It should have remained in its firmament as is the thought and predicated message of Rizal. Rizal's message is not a changing one. His message is firm, is accurate, is one sided.

The man gave up his life for the freedom and for the love of his beloved Filipinas.

And now we have allowed our Great Hero's house to be colored green?

Preposterous!

I am disheveled.

Pare, that is very true about moving back to countries like the Philippines--and the province of Bohol---with medical facilities that are not so effective as say in Germany and the West. It is a reality that we must take into consideration.

My parents always talk about going back to Bohol and retiring there; but I always protest because considering the medical stuation and the poor health facilities in Bohol that cannot compare to the health care and medical provisions here in the United States of America. And the superb benefits that they have as medical care workers.

It is a reality that I advice them and remind them.

It is always oportune for us to remember and keep in mind, especially our medical situation and history.

Good luck with everything Pare.

Dear Pare,
Every quarter, must have to see my Eye Dr. for  "eye pressure measure"....I have a constant high rate at about 19 to 23 both eyes but got no medications yet instead have to submit every year an OKT examination - they called it "Optische Koharenz Tumographie"- to control my visual nerves (so far, it is still okey) this kind examination is quite expensive in which my medicare pays only the so called "ocular fundus  eye examination" which is yearly done too. I got only Eye drops against eye dryness.
I am taking 5 mg HB tablet and I also take 1 aspirin daily in which I think it's not bad .  But am also taking a 5 mg. hormon tabs which contradicts and  lead to have a higher eye pressure, right?
I've been planning to exchange my two cats against a guide dog as I told to my Eye Dr. ;D

I am working during nightime and using PC, expose to dust and fluorescent lights. Do you think this is one of the reason why I have this eye disorder?  My Physician just suggested...to have a successive check-up in which I really do.  Sus....unsaon nalang ug adto nako sa Bohol magpuyo.  Lisod!

I thank you Pare!

Good Evening Pare, i apologize that i was unable to respond quicker.

You have very interesting questions considering your eyes and I will try to answer your questions to the best of my knowledge.

If it is in your history that you have high blood pressure that results you to take blood pressure medications, as well as taking blood thinners--any generic brand will do: Aspirin will do well. It is necessary. As for taking estrogen pills--it is necessary--as you are taking this for your night flashes, am i I right?

In any measure, pare, the reason for your raised intraocular pressure is probably due to a blockade of  your canal of schlemm, which is preventing the drainage of the aquous humor that is located in the anterior and posterior ciliary body. This blockade can be easily treated by taking vasodilatory medications such as pirenzapine and or timolol and said generics.

Vasodilation means = Expanding and dilating the vascular blood vessels in your body--meaning you increase the canal of schlemm in your eye--therefore increases filtering and decreasing the intraocular pressure.

Additionally, vasodilatory drugs can have excellent effects for high blood patients, as it will lead to a decrease in Total Peripheral Pressure (TPR). Vasodilation will expand the blood vessels--meaning that more blood will be retourned to the heart via venous flow---therefore meaning less pressure on the heart to pump oxygenated blood. Due to the decrease in TPR, this will--naturally--lead to a decrease in BP (blood pressure). This is effective for tachychardic patients (high heart activity---too much of which will cause a Cardiac Failure: heart attack) So we are adviced to utilize this.

----

The examination that your opthalmologist or optomistrist is giving you is nothing but what we call here in the USA as COCT scan (Cranial-Optical Computed Tomography  Scan).
CT scan can better observe and analyze any blockage in blood vessels in around your craniofacial region pertaining to your eyes---to diagnose what can cause the increased pressure or any optical nerve damage.

It will be expensive, pare, as CT scans--even here int he USA is expensive. But it is excellent preventative measure---as CT scans are far more accurate than the old X-RAY methodology--which was once used 20-30 years ago.

Now, we medical students are adviced to utilize CT scans---as it is far more effective and accurate in analysis.

----

So my advice to you is to take to your physician about possible treatment for glaucoma/ either open angle form. Ask him about medications that can be used to aleviate IOP (intra-ocular-pressure).

Though I am very confident that any of the following medical drugs can alleviate your problem:

1. Beta Blockers
2. Prostaglandin analogues
3. Alpha-adrenergic types
4. Carbonic anhydrase inhibitors
5. Miotics.

Just write down these 5 possible treatment options, and give this to your ophthalmologist and he will know what to do. Good luck pare. And remember---taking and eat alot of Vitamin A. Vitamin A is helpful for the produciton of Rods, Rhodopsin and Cones in our eyes. It is necessary for good sight.

Good luck and take care. :)

Best,
Bran Lorenzo

DAY 10

Luke 4:18-19

The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.

Who has God intended to be the recipients of the Gospel?

This passage is a very familiar one.  It has been preached upon on many occasions, even made popular in books and songs.  Though the quote is about Jesus, all Christians take this commission seriously as a directive as to how to reach the world with the gospel.  We, like our Savior, are to bring the good news to the poor, the broken hearted, those in captivity, those who cannot see, and the oppressed.

The commission given to us in this passage is clearly a charge to care for those for whom God cares the most. I wonder though, whom do we look for to be touched by the Holy Spirit as we go out into the world?  Who are the poor, if not those unborn children who have been abandoned by their parents before they ever leave the womb?  Who are the broken hearted, if not those unborn children whose only example of love is having their mother take them to an abortion clinic to be destroyed, or the mother of a child who has been deceived by everyone around her into believing that what she is doing is best for her and her child?  Who are the captives, if not those unborn children who are bound over to death by the “choice” of abortion?  Who is more blind than an unborn child in the darkness of a womb that has become a waiting room for their death?  And who is more oppressed than those unborn children whose oppression has been legitimized by their government, their church and even their family and loved ones.

Lord, you empower us with your Spirit to do your will in the earth.   Send us to the poorest, the most broken, the most captive, the most blind and the most oppressed of the world, the innocent pre-born children in their mother’s wombs that are scheduled for destruction.  Help us to bring them healing, liberty, sight and justice through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Apple of Truth,

My intelligence is weak
My understanding is below average
I struggle to understand and to comprehend

For my human skill and understanding is weak,
But I bask in the Glory of Your Wisdom that is in Scriptural Mandate.
What I do not understand, you complement with Your Wisdom.
The Wisdom of Absolute Truth.

Forever, Author of Salvation,
You who conquored the Grave,
Have before you all things.

Kindly look down upon me,
one who is below average,
and weak in understanding,
and breath into me your Truth.
To which will complement my weaknesses.

Truly, there is no impossibility for you.

Jesus Tells us:

“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory.
32 “All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
33 “He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.
35 ‘For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.

The people you guys have helped to feed--and clothe reminds us the message Jesus Christ tells us:

Luke 14:12-14. "When you give a luncheon or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return, and repayment come to you. But when you give a reception, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, since they do not have the means to repay you; for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."

Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you

Bible Study / Re: Who Is Michael The Arch-Angel
June 06, 2009, 04:27:34 AM
This original prayer was written by Pope Leo XIII:

“O Glorious Prince of the heavenly host, St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the battle and in the terrible warfare that we are waging against the principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, against the evil spirits. Come to the aid of man, whom Almighty God created immortal, made in His own image and likeness, and redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of Satan.

“Fight this day the battle of the Lord, together with the holy angels, as already thou hast fought the leader of the proud angels, Lucifer, and his apostate host, who were powerless to resist thee, nor was there place for them any longer in Heaven. That cruel, ancient serpent, who is called the devil or Satan who seduces the whole world, was cast into the abyss with his angels. Behold, this primeval enemy and slayer of men has taken courage. Transformed into an angel of light, he wanders about with all the multitude of wicked spirits, invading the earth in order to blot out the name of God and of His Christ, to seize upon, slay and cast into eternal perdition souls destined for the crown of eternal glory. This wicked dragon pours out, as a most impure flood, the venom of his malice on men of depraved mind and corrupt heart, the spirit of lying, of impiety, of blasphemy, and the pestilent breath of impurity, and of every vice and iniquity.

“These most crafty enemies have filled and inebriated with gall and bitterness the Church, the spouse of the immaculate Lamb, and have laid impious hands on her most sacred possessions. In the Holy Place itself, where the See of Holy Peter and the Chair of Truth has been set up as the light of the world, they have raised the throne of their abominable impiety, with the iniquitous design that when the Pastor has been struck, the sheep may be.

“Arise then, O invincible Prince, bring help against the attacks of the lost spirits to the people of God, and give them the victory. They venerate thee as their protector and patron; in thee holy Church glories as her defense against the malicious power of hell; to thee has God entrusted the souls of men to be established in heavenly beatitude. Oh, pray to the God of peace that He may put Satan under our feet, so far conquered that he may no longer be able to hold men in captivity and harm the Church. Offer our prayers in the sight of the Most High, so that they may quickly find mercy in the sight of the Lord; and vanquishing the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, do thou again make him captive in the abyss, that he may no longer seduce the nations. Amen.

    V. Behold the Cross of the Lord; be scattered ye hostile powers.
    R. The Lion of the tribe of Judah has conquered the root of David.
    V. Let Thy mercies be upon us, O Lord.
    R. As we have hoped in Thee.
    V. O Lord, hear my prayer.
    R. And let my cry come unto Thee.

    Let us pray.

O God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, we call upon Thy holy Name, and as supplicants, we implore Thy clemency, that by the intercession of Mary, ever Virgin Immaculate and our Mother, and of the glorious St. Michael the Archangel, Thou wouldst deign to help us against Satan and all the other unclean spirits who wander about the world for the injury of the human race and the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Protection From Michael The Great Prince

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend me from battle;
Be my safeguard
against the malice and snares
of the negative seen or unseen energy forces.

Rebuke the negative energy forces oh God
I humbly beseech you,
and do thou oh prince of the heavenly host,
by the Divine Power of God
thrust into the darkness,
all the negative seen and unseen energy forces,
and all of the ugly spirits who wander about the world
seeking the ruination of souls.

In Jesus Christ's name I pray,
who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit
One God
forever and ever.

Amen

The Name Micha-El means, "Who Is Like God?"

St. Michael, who ranks among the seven archangels, is also one of the three angels mentioned by name in the Scriptures, the others being St. Raphael and St. Gabriel. St. Michael is spoken of twice in the Old Testament, and twice in the New. The first reference occurs in the Book of Daniel (chapter x), where Michael comes to comfort Daniel after he has had a vision, and promises to be his helper in all things. In Daniel xii, Michael is called "the great prince who standeth for the children of Thy people." In these references Michael is represented as Israel's great support during the seventy years of the Babylonian captivity. Daniel, wise and holy leader that he was, wanted his people to understand that God had not forgotten them, and that, even though enslaved, they had a royal champion. In the New Testament (Jude ix), we are told that Michael disputed with the devil over the body of Moses; this episode is not mentioned elsewhere in the Bible.

In the Apocalypse (chapter xii) we find the most dramatic reference to St. Michael. Here John recounts the great battle in Heaven, when the wicked angels under Lucifer revolt against God, and how Michael, leading the faithful angels, defeats the hosts of evil and drives them out. In this role he has been painted by many artists, and the poet Milton, in book vi of Paradise Lost, recounts the famous struggle. Because of this victory, St. Michael is revered in Catholic tradition and liturgy as the protector of the Church, as once he was regarded as the protector of the Israelites. In the Eastern Church, as well as among many theologians in the West, St Michael is placed over all the angels, as prince of the Seraphim. He is the special patron of sick people, mariners, and grocers; in Asia Minor many curative springs were dedicated to him. His cult has also been popular in Egypt, Rome, France, and Germany. His emblems are a banner, a sword, a dragon, and scales. The name Michael is a variation of Micah, meaning in Hebrew, "Who is like God?"

Colossians 4:5-6 -
"Walk in wisdom toward them that
are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech [be] always with
grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought
to answer every man."

i was studying then and with my buddies, 4 of us went to a beer haus where you can get a girl to seat nxt to you. each of us had a girl.

my girl was very young then maybe 16yo...she said she was a waray from Leyte.
to make the story short, i found out that she was forced to go to Manila, short of beng kidnapped. and she said she wanted to go home.

hmmmmmmm, i'm not sure what the drinks made me do but...

i convinced her to go home with me in my dorm...she sneaked out of the beer hauz...with the only clothes she had on herself. actually it looked like i was kidnapping her from her manager  ;D

with the help of my friends, we bought some of her clothes, undies and we give some of our own shirts. we bought a boat ticket to Leyte....and to make sure she is going through with the plan, we brought her to the pier and accompanied her inside the big boat. we give her a little pocket money and i kissed her goodbye.

we did not leave the pier until the boat left....

no contact with her after that.
ahhhhhhhhhh i dunno where she is now but i know she must be blessed by God.  8)
