I agree, Tita Lee.  The wife was punched here and there in this thread and if somebody wants to stand up for this woman, who is not even proven guilty, then let them be.  For all we know, the wife of Mr. Martin is also suffering for the loss of the father of her child, not to mention the accusations that she has a hand to the killing of her husband.  It's a sad story.

Manay, I see your point though but we didn't tell the friends of Mr. Martin to let him rest by not digging personal information anymore and posting these personal infos here.

The wife may be guilty and may be not.  And if she is not, she was made guilty already because of all these allegations.  And if the wife is not guilty, I don't think some people will ever be happy because their minds are already made up that she is guilty.  Again, it's a sad story.

Peace to all.

Exactly.  As what another TB member said in the other threads, crime knows no race.  It isn't fair to "condemn" the whole race just because a murder or two had happened.  In America, murders happen almost everyday and I still couldn't believe that most of the perpetrators are family members and or close friends.  Just the other day, they put to rest in Tracy, California an 8-year old girl Sandra Cantu kidnapped and then killed and raped (I don't know which particular order - killed first then raped or raped first then killed).  And the suspect, a 28-year old mother, the mother of Sandra's best friend and a neighbor, a grand daughter of a local Baptist pastor.  Another case that's still on going is the murder of a baby girl Caylee in Florida allegedly by her own mother.

There's also a case I remember that couple of women friends marry homeless people here then insured these men then later died in suspicious manners.

What I am trying to say or should I say, let me reiterate that I agree with the person who said that crime knows no race.  It happens everywhere.  It is disgraceful that some crimes happen in our own beautiful province which are known to be home of loving and peaceful people, but it is still unfair to label the whole country as some sort of horrible people to the point of "imploring" for prospective investors not to go to Bohol.  Killing of a person, be they are white or blue, still hurts all of us. It is so wrong to curtail the life of a person, no mater how bad we perceived these people are.  These victims have families who care for them so much.  No matter what, killing is just so, so unacceptable and a very big sin.  We punish the sinners not the whole race.

I don't think there's a third party involved. The day before Mrs. Etong allegedly committed suicide, they were discussing about household bills.  Ted was asking his wife a list of expenses from helpers' wages to electricity bill.  You see, no matter how famous they are, they also have problems like normal people do.

The morning Mrs. Etong allegedly committed suicide, Ted Failon was on board.  He was supposed to meet his wife somewhere to discuss their problems after his program at 10:30 a.m..  He kept calling but the wife didn't answer so he left work about 15 minutes before his program was supposed to end.  When he checked their bedroom, she wasn't there.  When he checked the bedroom of one of his daughters, the bathroom was locked so he asked the househelpers to get the key and when they opened, Mrs. Etong was already bath in her own blood.

Ted Failon didn't report right away what happened as he took his wounded wife to the hospital.  I guess he didn't want to report it right away to avoid media frenzy.

I saw in the video how the Pamela, the sister of Mrs. Etong was arrested and when her brother tried to shield Pamela, he too was handcuffed.  There were lots of screaming.  They were like criminals rounded up by the QC police officers.  I think it was so inhumane of the police m since the siblings said they didn't want to leave their dying sister. And there was no case or warrant to arrest at that time.

Mrs. Etong died while her sisters and brother was in police custody.  Paita jud oi! It was so heartbreaking to see how Failon's family was violated. I can understand why he was angry and sad at the same time.

How could Ted Failon's wife do this to her children and husband and family, it's just beyond me.

Haze, kanang first set, sweet treat na.  that's white chocolate with two kinds of toppings:

kanang naay red sa top, melted candy with rice krispies unya kanang isa is kind of cheesy topping made or cream cheese and mascarpone with dehydrated dried mangoes (philippine-made mangoes).

Kanang sa second set, that's savory as in real eggs.  ang topping ana, a mixture of the egg yolk, mayo, pickle relish, diced celery, mustard and  pouched shrimp.

yes, both are unhealthy!  ;D

LGU Philippines / Jala: No deal With Sec. Yap
April 13, 2009, 01:41:32 PM
The battle for the Third District congressional seat will be a virtual clash of the titans - between two administration figures holding national posts in the Arroyo government.

As reports arise that Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Arthur Yap is maneuvering to cut a compromise deal for a single term in Congress, former congressman and now Transportation and Communication Assistant Secretary Eladio Jala, who has bared his plans of staging a comeback in the 3rd district, says no such agreement was reached between him and the agriculture boss.

In fact, the two officials have evaded discussing their own political agenda during chance encounters and sorties in the 3rd district, said Jala in an interview with the Chronicle yesterday.

The rumors on Sec. Yap's intention to run in the 3rd congressional district was confirmed after he filed for voter's registration in barangay Buenavista, Loboc town, two weeks ago.

Originally registered as voter in Manila, Yap is a Boholano by affinity due to his marriage to the daughter of Annie Gow, a native of Loboc.

According to reports, the camp of Yap is striking a deal with Jala in order to be given the opportunity to represent the 3rd district in Congress. The congressional mandate will purportedly be Yap's stepping stone for a senatorial bid in the 2013 elections.

The 3rd congressional district will be tendered to Yap "on a silver platter", according to the report, with the assurance that Yap will vacate it after one term in office and run for senator in the 2013 polls.

When asked to comment on such negotiation, Yap in a text message to the Chronicle last night said, "I have not been informed or aware of such arrangement".

Jala will not totally sit it out in the next three years as he will retain his cabinet portfolio in the Department of Transportation
and Communications (DOTC) or may be given an even higher position by President Arroyo, according to the report.

Jala however brushed aside any likelihood for such a scenario.

"Such a deal is the surest way to alienate your supporters," said Jala who declared his intention of reclaiming his old congressional seat presently held by son Adam Relson Jala.

"If somebody has to withdraw from this race, it should be him (Yap), not me," Jala stressed.

Jala said his desire to serve again the people in the 3rd district gained momentum as supporters and leaders have persuaded him to seek re-election.

Jala was first elected as provincial board member representing the 3rd district for six years before his three terms in Congress.

The former lawmaker's dominance was put to test in the last election following his son's slim victory over former governor Rene Relampagos. Jala got 65,081 votes over Relampagos' 62,106 votes.

Despite allegations of vote-padding and vote-shaving, the Jalas persevered keeping the congressional post within the family.

"The voters will be the ultimate judge. But as I see it now, I still have the warm support of my constituents in the 3rd district," he added.

"While forging such an agreement allows us to form alliances and ensure that the top leaders of Bohol remain a cohesive force, I don't think I can turn my back to my supporters who have been intact for more than 15 years," Jala pointed out.

GMA'S NOD?

Asked whether Pres. Arroyo would intercede to iron out hitches within the administration bloc especially the looming collision with Sec. Yap, former congressman Jala admitted there has been no official statement from the president on the matter.

In fact, Pres. Arroyo was very cautious to comment on Bohol political positioning during a recent meeting at the Palace with Gov. Erico Aumentado, Vice Gov. Julius Caesar Herrera, Rep. Edgar Chatto, Rep. Roberto Cajes, and the Jalas.

"Even before we met with the president in Malacañang, I already informed the other Bohol leaders that in the event Pres. Arroyo would ask me to give way for Sec. Yap, I would readily turn down such proposal," Jala disclosed.

He said Aumentado, Herrera, Chatto and Cajes all agreed to respect his decision but each expressed their intention for party unity.

"I was honestly worried that the president would ask me to yield in favor of Yap, but I'm glad she did not," Jala said.

Arroyo went on to discuss about ongoing projects in the province and simply listened to the Bohol political situationer.

YAP'S VISIBILITY

The DA secretary is always visible in Bohol, especially in the towns of the 3rd district where he had been rumored to run since last year.

One of Pres. Arroyo's designated stewards in implementing the Comprehensive Livelihood Employment Program (CLEEP), Yap has at his disposal some P50-million in DA funds to help farmers.

In another interview, Yap had said his visits to Bohol "must not be injected with political color" as this is in line with his job to implement agri-related production program especially that he was assigned by the President to coordinate the projects in the province

Asked to comment about the use of agriculture funds and Yap's political positioning in the 3rd district, Jala said he is just thankful to the secretary for bringing projects to the district which is represented by his son.

One of the youngest to be appointed to the Arroyo cabinet, Yap, who is a lawyer by profession, held at least five positions in government since 2001.

He first entered government as president of the Philippine International Trading Corporation of the Department of Trade and Industry. He later served as administrator of the National Food Authority for two years. Yap was also designated director general of the Presidential Management Staff.

Pres. Arroyo became the secretary's economics professor when he took management and economics in college.

Well, we couldn't help it; we were singing and dancing.  What is Pinoy party without singing and dancing!

Thank you so much, Dong, for your kindness and gentleness.  I am in constant process of cleansing my heart with pain brought about by people I don't even know (even if I know their names  ::)).

As I said to guadalrose or to the person behind this username, I wish him/her real peace in his/her hearts... especially at this lenten season.

God bless you and your family too, Dong.

Love you,

Ate Ging, in times like these and in such confrontations, my advice lang is to pray for them.

Reading the things she posted, I can only refer back to scripture:

"But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you."

-Luke 6:27-28

Bless You Guadalrose! And a blessed Palm Sunday~

Exactly, Dong!  I was thinking, maybe he or she has bigger issues than the "ugliness" of my face.  I posted his or her PMs to me so people will not be surprised to receive demeaning messages from him or her if we happen to not agree with his or her opinions about different issues here.

Thank you so much, Dong!

In regard to my comment as reply to Glacier's comment, as quoted:

Quote from: grazie7y on April 04, 2009, 07:53:37 AM
Korek ka dyan, glace!

Kadumdum lang ko sa college, nag present ko'g report sa English man siguro to or Sociology ba to entitled The Notion of Male Superiority.  Nah, na ala-an na lang hinuon ko'g man-hater!  But anyway, whether or not feminists do not like it, wa jud tay mahimo kay Men rules the world.

that has generated unnecessary reaction from guadalrose, as quoted below:

Quote from: guadalrose on April 04, 2009, 05:40:35 PM
You cannot even recollect which subject was that?  There are different languages discourses in sociological studies.

I would suggest, before I open my mouth I will do some readings.

and:

Quote from: guadalrose on April 04, 2009, 05:45:51 PM
Grazie,

Have you ever made some readings that the pre-colonial Philippines is a matriarchal society and patriarchy only came along with western colonization?

I find it sad when women are disempowered by their ownselves, not by men.

and all those times, I kept my silence.  and then, he or she wasn't happy yet, he or she sent me PM, her subject line:  of course.  Full text of her PM I quoted below:

Quote from: guadalrose on April 04, 2009, 05:59:48 PM
Ma man-hater gyud ka kung dili ka lingi-on sa ubang lalaki tungod sa kabati sa imung nawung!  Kung daghan kag kwarta pa retoke nalang para dili naka ma man hater. peace.

I was careless not to see her other pm, as quoted:

Quote from: guadalrose on April 04, 2009, 06:30:31 PM
pasensya na ha. going over board ko.

so I replied her earlier PM:

Quote from: grazie7y on April 05, 2009, 12:44:09 AM

Hello guadalrose,

Thanks for your compliments.  Di lang ko pa retoke kay ako na lang ipakaon sa mga nagkinahanglan if ever naa man ko money kon makuha na nko akong winnings sa lotto.  :D Mao man ni gihatag sa Ginoo and I have this notion that I am so beautiful although di lang makita sa mga tawo like you.  God blessed me with such beautiful heart that makes me beautiful.  Bahala'g feeling beautiful lang gud basta kinasingkasing, di patago.  Basaha balik, I didn't say I was man-hater, i love and respect men in my life and I am equally respected by men too.  Pero unsaon man mao ra pod gi abot sa imong panabot.

Just so you know, Holy Week karon so gamay ra ning imong pag biay-biay compared sa nadawat ni Lord so I will graciously take it. hehehe  God bless you and your whole family na unta di sila maka hinagbo ug tawo pareho nimo makipanghimaraut.

Grazie

Then she replied:

Quote from: guadalrose on April 05, 2009, 03:53:19 AM
Bitaw no Lenten season ron.  pero ayaw pag hypocrita kay dili ka santa.  basin laing langita ka padulong.

Unsa diay porma sa imung heart nga beautiful?  kinsay ga ingun nimo? inyung mga silingan?

Pangutan- a kuno silag usob beh.. lets stop this na oi.

Pag minyo nalang, para ang mga laki ang mo rule sa imung world... ang pangutana , kinsa kaha?

And that's all the story. I didn't reply anymore.  I realized I was not in her level so di na lang ko mosaka sa iyang level.

To you guadalrose,  real peace be in your heart.  :) Kay ako, comfortable na man ko sa akong nawong . ;D Do I think I deserve your panghimaraut, no but lahi=lahi man jud ta'g upbringing gud. So yan lang.   :)

#3777
I actually agree to those who said we are all equal.  I was just being specific kinsa ang nagdumala sa atong world.  In my world, I rule and in my husband's world, he rules, but in both our world, we both rule!   ;D  Kumbaga, eguales!  Ingon nya, ako daw ning rule pero di gani, kami ganing duha! But for sure we both respect our opinion.  At times we may not agree but as I kept on saying here in TB, when we don't agree on certain issues, we agree to disagree.  That's why we have such harmonious world!
