Bible Study / Re: a glimpse of HEAVEN
July 21, 2009, 09:36:06 PM
Absolutley. NO ONE can come to the Father but through Him, who is Christ Jesus.

As we see, and observe, God The Father is The Supreme Lord of All. But as we see and read in Genesis, God and Man's link was severed and God's favor to man was tested in the fall of Adam and Eve in Eden.

Where the most wretched, most impure, most decieving, father of liars, the demon satan, May The Lord God REBUKE him, decieved Eve into taking of the fruit, and herself decieing Adam. To the rebuke of the Lord God of Heaven, who specifically and purposely forwarned them in partaking of that said fruit.

The bond between God and man was  re-esterified by the coming of THE CHIRST, as predicted and fortold by the prophets (Elijah, Jeremiah, etc). Christ, who IS God in THE FLESH, came down from Heaven to bear witness of the PURE Love and Forgiveness of His Father In Heaven. That God would humble HIMSELF to die for sinful man, so that those who would believe in HIM, would be saved from eternal perdition, as is already destined for the world. For the world belongs to Satan, May the Lord God rebuke him. The flesh is finite, but the eternal soul--which liveth in the body--hidden from the eyes and senses, but does occupies the body--is and was created for Heaven and Eternal Reunion with The Father.

God Loves Us, that is undeniable. He loves even sinners, and those that do not know of Him or choose to accept him.

God Loves us so much, that he would offer the precious blood of The Perfect Lamb, Christ Jesus, who is SALVATION ON HIGH, that WHOEVER so believeth in Him and calls on HIM, will be saved! Saved! :)

But for those who do not, and choose to follow false pretense and prophets, shall be destined to the Eternal Pyre.

As Christ Tells us, "There will be false christs and false prophets that will come to mislead the sheep."

God Bless~
In Christ Jesus' Name!
Amen.

Revelations 21: 5-27

5And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

6And He said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

7He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

9And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.

10And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

11Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

12And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

13On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.

14And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.

16And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

17And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

18And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.

19And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;

20The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.

21And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

22And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

23And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

24And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

25And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

26And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

27And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

----

Christ IS the Alpha and the Omega. The beginning and the end. It was revealed to us in Christ's transfiguration that He is the Glory of Heaven, for all things were created For Him, and Through Him. As we saw the same in the transsubstantiation of water to whine, bread to body, whine to blood.

Christ Is Savior. Christ Is King. Christ Is LORD.

Repent and be Saved!

Let us read Revelation, it is described to us:

"Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea." (Revelation 21:1) "Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband." (Revelation 21:2) "And" God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." Let us proceed further to the discussion of Virology, a subset of Microbiology.

One topic that I want to share here is the concept of Pox Viridae (Pox Viruses), this is the 2nd largest viralgroup, next only to herpes viruses. It contains DNA and RNA. It is brick-shaped ; it is a double stranded DNA , which is enveloped. And there are over 10,000 viruses particles produced from each affected cell and one big particle.

So let me share some Epidemiology of Small Pox:

Pox Viridae do not cause chickenpox; chicken pox is caused by the herpes viridae varicella zoster (VZV). Do note that Pox Viridae Used to cause Small Pox.

Why do we say 'Used' to cause small pox? Answer: That last case of small pox was in 1977. Small Pox is the only major viral agent that has been eradicated from the face of the Earth.

For more than 3 thousand years this highly contagious virus spread via the respiratory tract; causing pox skin lesions and death. A concerted vaccination and surveillance program conducted by the World Health Organization brought this tyranny to an End.

Small pox was the agent that was responsible for the ERADICATION of the Native Americans in North America and Central-South America.

The Small Pox Virus has been eradicated by Medical Science.
Completely.

Quotable Quotes / Ignorance and Economics
July 20, 2009, 01:02:06 PM
It is no crime to be ignorant of economics, which is, after all, a specialized discipline and one that most people consider to be a 'dismal science.' But it is totally irresponsible to have a loud and vociferous opinion on economic subjects while remaining in this state of ignorance.

Quotable Quotes / St. Augustine On Justice'
July 20, 2009, 12:59:12 PM
Without justice, what are kingdoms but great robber bands? What are robber bands but small kingdoms? The band is itself made up of men, is ruled by the command of a leader, and is held together by a social pact. Plunder is divided in accordance with an agreed upon law. If this evil increases by the inclusion of dissolute men to the extent that it takes over territory, establishes headquarters, occupies cities, and subdues peoples, it publicly assumes the title of kingdom! This title is manifestly conferred on it, not because greed has been removed, but because impunity has been added. A fitting and true response was once given to Alexander the Great by an apprehended pirate. When asked by the king what he thought he was doing by infesting the sea, he replied with noble insolence, 'What do you think you are doing by infesting the whole world? Because I do it with one puny boat, I am called a pirate; because you do it with a great fleet, you are called an emperor.'

Quotable Quotes / On Absolutism and Libertarianism
July 20, 2009, 12:58:26 PM
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Dear Sky,

Up there yonder above the celestial abode, where clouds flicker and dance, where rain clouds perfunge, where rainbows are born and frolick on this good green Earth.

Sky, have you been spying on us again?
You've seen me walk, cry, laugh, elope, commune with friends,
You've seen me from the moment i came out of the hospital when i was born, to the very present moment.

Sky, for all the brightness you've provided, continue it.
Sky, for all the rains you've poured out to test our resolves,
and to water the grounds to make green all the Earth. Thanks.
It helps.

From the highest of the highest to the lowest of the lowest.
Thanks, keep on shining forth.

You could never ever find a way to counter my Danish gambit moves, hahaha.
Our typical chess games @ Grounds For Change Coffee House. haha, do you not remember that one time ? Matson, Matson, typical of you.

A blonde girl merely has to come to the table, and your entire attention was lost. And I made my moves to pick at the defenses of your chess army. hahaha, lol!
Crazy Bostonians.

You were lucky that Allison didn't see you eh? hahahaha! or maybe she did?

I'll miss and do miss our mixed conversations, which usually was very multi-faceted, if tha word even describes it, or can even deign to describe it. A game of chess, and at the same time drinking coffee, talking about politics, then switch on to a conversation on the female physiology and anatomy (hahahaha!), and then to the consistency of the coffee mug, then on to politics again, then on to history discussions/debates.

The mind was racked and rivetted with outstanding thinking, with the substantial, the abstract, the personal analysis, the community's analysis and view, then the antagonist's view. hahaha!

We left too many conversations on hold, my dear brother and friend.

I wish you were still around, Rob. I do miss you, my dear friend. So very much.

Fork On The Road

In life, we will come across our own symbolic 'fork on the road'.
Two ways leading to one direction, the difference is that one way is the Right, and sometimes may be referred to as the 'unpopular' route, especially in these trying times. And the other route may seem 'popular' in today's times, but in accordance to the Word of God, is wrong.

Do you listen to your cosncience and do what is right, though hard and trying? Or do you take the easy way out, and do what is wrong---yet quick to the chase?

Free Will. Its your decision to make. Just remember, the Big Guy Upstairs is always watching. :)

Always~

Hey robbo, just venting this out man, i talked to one of our mutual friends the other day (she sent me an email regarding she read the page i made for you, in your memory) and i couldn't react. I was brought to some kind of realization that wow, its been almost 2 years bro. Its been almost 2 years since we've had a conversation. What's wierd is that it seems only like yesterday. Who could ever forget the passion of Robbo Matson? You were a passionate guy, bro. In all that you aspired to be, your strivings, and your volunteering.

Its crazy how time has passed, and I guess, ive somehow gotten over your death, bro. But in a way, it still hurts deep down inside knowing that i wont be able to see you. or ever continue our (many) conversations that we left on hold. Man, i think the last one was the time when we watched the movie "American Adobo" hahaha. Which was a pretty good movie actually.

But anyways, just venting this out.
It realy is true what they say, that we meet few people in ourlives that come and go. But the ones that really influence and leave a mark, are those that go away,  and we never see again, yet we remember them, the good times, the warm times, the friendly camaraderie."

Your Friend,

If you leave, don’t leave now
Please don’t take my heart away
Promise me, just one more night
Then we’ll go our separate ways
We’ve always had time on our sides
Now it’s fading fast
Every second, every moment
We’ve got to, We’ve got to make it last

I touched you once, I touched you twice
I won’t let go at any price
I need you now like I needed you then
You always said we'd still be friends someday

If you leave I won't cry
I won't waste one single day
But if you leave don't look back
I'll be running the other way
Seven years went under the bridge
Like time was standing still
Heaven knows what happens now
You’ve got to, You’ve got to say you will

I touched you once, I touched you twice
I won't let go at any price
I need you now like I needed you then
You always said we'd meet again

I touched you once, I touched you twice
I won’t let go at any price
I need you now like I needed you then
You always said we’d still be friends

I touched you once, I touched you twice
I won’t let go at any price
I need you now like I needed you then
You always said we'd meet again someday

ohwoah ohwoah ohwoah ohwoah ohwoah

If you leave (ohwoah)
If you leave (ohwoah)
If you leave (ohwoah)
Don’t look back
Don’t look back

Today was hilarious, simply hilarious.

My friend Tom did his presentation on FAD (alzheimer's) on our weekly Journal of Medicine Association--AMSA Chapter. AMSA stands for American Medical Student's Association.
There was a considerable number of folks that attended today's lecture: 60-80 or so at least. Tom presented well, introducing the etiology of the diseae, the clinical symtpoms, possible genetic causes, treatment, diagnosis etc. the whole kabootle. ;)

So i told him i'd film the presentation. But what i didnt tell him was that id film also a pre-presentation intro. Taken 1 hour before his presentation. lol!

Guys will be guys, i guess. Hahahaha~

Lets thank The Lord God for giving us men and women who, despite these times, hold on to their virtues and shine forth their goodness. Like a lamp unto the whole house.

This is a calling for all of us to shine our own light, hehehe!

God Bless All of Us.

Philippians 2:12-18

12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyedâ€"not only in my presence, but now much more in my absenceâ€"continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

14 Do everything without complaining or arguing, 15 so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe 16 as you hold outc the word of lifeâ€"in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing. 17 But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you. 18 So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.

Collegiate understanding and undergraduate works even master's work mean nothing, when it comes to medicine.

First, let that be made known.

In undergraduate college, I took 2 semesters worth of Microbiology and Virology, but the course Im taking right now in 2nd year Med : Medical Microbiology and Integrative Immunology is totally different from undergraduate schooling.
The focus is totally different. Undergraduate focused more on the genetic and molecular aspects, in medicine, we focus more on the clinical aspects, reading data and lab analysis, diagnostic testing, preventatives and treatment (if any).

My advice to all pre-med students and or students considering medicine is this:
--It's never too late or too early to start reading. Read journals, articles, read medical papers, read micro, read lab works, etc. Just get your hands on something and READ. Believe me, when you start medicine, you Won't even have time to do anything else but read assignments, or to finish a 500-600 paged textbook within 2-3 weeks time, and at the same time finish preqs in other classes. So Read, Read, Read.

There is no such thing as procrastination here. If you do, don't expect to do well. I'm telling you that right now. To your face, direct, honest, truth.

So start early. Be proactive.
But as the saying goes, "You do what you can with what you have, and with the time you have alotted to you. So work."

hehehe.
Hear, Learn, March On!

Always,
A. Lorenzo

6:01 PM, eastern standard time;

Just got out of our presentation for FAD (Familial Alzheimer's Disease), which my colleague, Tom, presented in the Journal of Medicine Association. I filmed his pre-presentation message, lol, which basically captures the typical mind of male med students  (esp. 2nd years that have been deprived of that certain luxury--sleep--for quite some time) ;) hahaha!

Today, my goal is to finish some more micro reviews, then do a little tutor/review session with some colleagues on CNS Pharmacology, later tonight, God Willing---I have enough time to cover the material to review.

My buddy Albert cooked something, should go over there later to have dinner, but other than that. Work. Study. And maybe some sleep? hahaha, oh sleep.

the things you have prevented,
for all the good things, the challenges,
the trying times, the beautiful times,
For the climbs, for the shortcomings,

From the highest of the highests, to the lowest of times,
For being with me, and most of all---Inspiring Me.

Excellent explanation, mora man kog nabalik pagka student,
anyway, the medical field is a continuous process of learning
in which we need in the daily care  given to the patients.

Nurses in general are really neglectful in taking care of  their
kidneys.  When we are busy, we just keep going and
push  till  our job is done. We forget to drink nor to take
a bathroom break. Well, patients comes first as  they say.
I manage  to find time though to sip some water, to refuel
  and boost my energy.

I was told about a joke as follows;
A young woman was found unconscious on the side
of the road possibly being mugged or just passed out.
The ambulance personnel assessed her, no ID found.
Personnel # 1 said, "I'm know who this woman is"
Personnel # 2 asked, " Who is she?"
Personnel # 1 said, " She is a nurse, her bladder is very
distended and firm to the touch"
:D

lol, palamuut pood. Cute uy! Firm to the touch diay ang bladder?
ah mao ba..interesting.

Hmmm unsa pa? Yes, well, when i was doing rounds this past weekend, we had nursing students in our floor. I was flirting with some. hahaha. O man, o man, o man.

Nursing students are hot. Smart kaayo, and look good in their blue scrubs. This one nursing student i talked to was wearing cute pink clogs. hahaha cute kai bright pink raba.

This is the best part of this message of the Lord Our God:

" (30) Favour {is} deceitful, and beauty {is} vain: {but} a woman {that} feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. (31) Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates."

Amen. For beauty and youth passes like the grasses and flowers. But the virtue and faith of a woman of God is constant. And the LORD GOD is her justification, her sanctifying GRACE.

(Proverbs 31:10-31)

(10) Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price {is} far above rubies. (11) The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. (12) She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. (13) She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. (14) She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. (15) She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. (16) She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. (17) She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. (18) She perceiveth that her merchandise {is} good: her candle goeth not out by night. (19) She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. (20) She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. (21) She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household {are} clothed with scarlet. (22) She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing {is} silk and purple. (23) Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. (24) She maketh fine linen, and selleth {it}; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant. (25) Strength and honour {are} her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. (26) She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue {is} the law of kindness. (27) She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. (28) Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband {also}, and he praiseth her. (29) Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. (30) Favour {is} deceitful, and beauty {is} vain: {but} a woman {that} feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. (31) Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Reading that poem reminded me of one thing that my father told me, something that he told me several years ago.

First, i want to say that my father is an all-around, good man. Religious, pero quiet about it. Protective father, loving, and giving father. A good provider, God Be Praised.
Dili mo smoke ahong dad, dili mo inum pood, dili mo gamble, dili pabastobastos. Conservative and an living example of a man of God.

I asked my father one time, when we went to a Filipino party, "Dad, why don't you drink like your friends?"

He responded to me, in his voice--which describes my father totally,
He said to me (and I will never forget it):
"Bran, if your friends and your peers drink, that does not mean you have to drink,
if your friends smoke, gamble, does not mean that you have to do so because
they do the same thing. Dili. You have to make your own decisions.

Puydi ang tawo mo katawa sa joke, pero ayaw pa bastosbastos if that joke is made against you, smile ra lang. Ug pa binuang-binuang ang tawo nimo kai di ka mo agree sa ilang opinion, bahal ra pood. Stick to what you believe is right. Going out of your way to please others--and betraying what you know is Right is fake. you are betraying your own self and lying to yourself.

Mao na di ko mo inum
Mao na di ko mo sigarilyo
Mao na di ko mo sugal-sugal."

My father graduated Holy Spirit School and Divine Word, and I think the teachings they taught him really molded his outlook on life. Because overall, he is a quiet man. Very retiscent, but calm.

My Father, is a loving Father. He disciplines, when he has to. But he loves all the time.
He comforted me one time after I was disciplined when I did something bad when I was a child, "Bran, I discipline you because I love you, Anak."

-----

God Bless Fathers, who instruct and discipline their children towards righteousness.
For it is a Command of GOD The Father.

Light of the world
You stepped down into darkness
Opened my eyes let me see
Beauty that made this heart adore You
Hope of a life spent with You

Here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You’re my God

You’re altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me

King of all days
Oh so highly exalted
Glorious in heaven above
Humbly You came to the earth You created
All for love’s sake became poor

I’ll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross

Call:
Call upon the name of the Lord
And be saved

2. My failure for the day was in not telling her the truth. She smiles, I smile back. But i ignored the fact that i wanted to go over there and pick her up, and kiss her. lol.
How can i ignore her? I cannot. Lady, lady, you gorgeous lady you. If you find this, then yo know. The price of preservation..

Protective kaayo kining Pinoy brother.

Ug mo adto mi sa mall with my barkadas, and my sister and her friends her with her ma relaxed ko. Pero as soon as naay lalaki (nga very obvious what his intent is), mo ingoon ahong mga amigo that "Your eyes widen like a lion". lol.

In college, there were college guys that would flee once they saw that i was coming to visit or to talk to my sister.

hehe, dili allowed ma pabastosbastos ang lalaking tawo sa ahong igsoon baji.
Dili puydi.

If he comes from a good family, good background, speaks properly, carries himself properly, well around, and carries himself, mo approve ko. Pero if he is spineless and is 'shady' (and believe me I can easily see through people), dili puydi.

My siblings already know that I am a very protective Kuya.

Di ko gusto mo pick up ahong mga igsoon ug bad and negative vibes from people that have no bearing, plus kanang tawo that easily curse and pabastosbastoson, dili ko gusto sila mo hang out with that group of people.

Habit is based on observational learning.
If you expose yourself and surround yourself to constant negativity and vice, you yourself will pick up on it and be influenced. Clinical observation na, as well as personal observation.

My view is like that of my father's.
:Studies first, unya ra ning mga date date.

Ive had to talk to my younger brother about this as well. As he's coming of age; 16 na siya. And guapo raba kaayo. I had to tell him, "Preserve, preserve. The girls will offer, but you must preserve. It only takes one thing to ruin an entire process. Preserve."

Ingon dayon, "Yes, Kuya"

Di ko gusto ma pabastosbastos lagi. Wa ko yamo patience for that.

Hehe, never good to drink too much coke because it can cause metabolic acidosis. As well as heavy carbonation.

Think about it this way lang.

Think to yourself, "What will happen if i drink alot of one drink?"

And then analyze the medical situation.

:::

1. Okay so person X^2 is sitting in his house and drinks a 2 liter bottle of Pepsi (lets say this guy is a caffeine junky, lol!)

2. Okay so person 2X^3 is sitting outside of her cubicle (she's an IT specialist ;) ) and drinks a 2 liter water gallon (she's thirsty, she was recalibrating and rehydrating herself--trying to restore her electrolytes after binge drinking the night before with her college buddies).

---

So let's analyze the scenarios we've been given ;)

Scenario 1: Mr. X^2 clearly isn't wise. Drinking a 2 liter bottle of pepsi with an empty stomach will not only expose the stomach to heavy concentration of acidic pH. What's the result of this if kept in a chronic state? Peptic Ulcers, folks. Burns right through your mucosal lining of the stomach.

Scenario 2: Ms 2X^3 is merely restoring water balance (she was hypovolemic, as indicated), so the intake of 2 gallons of water is warranted to maintain fluid homeostasis. Water (H2O) is a pure liquid. Not acidic, and not too basic. Neutral. Its effect on the GIT system is positive: it cleanses the stomach, and expels any fecal matter in the DJI region to the large intestinal region, then out through the anal sphincter. To your local handy dandy toilet. lol

Clinical and Critical difference here:
Case 1 --> leads to metabolic acidosis as well as peptic-gastric ulcers. As well as neurologically speaking, caffeine binging can lead to self induced tachycardia--> if patient was a CHD patient or  CVD patient, is heavily contraindicated.

Case 2 --> Liquid therapy. In this case the water intake was positive. Since she was hypovolemic. Had she been hypervolemic, or was a CHD patient: clinical features of periopheral edema, fluid retention due to CRF (chronic renal failure), would be detrimental. In that case excessive water intake would be contraindicated due to the already increased pre-load, and increased afterload--and therefore furtheremore increae the burden of the O2-starved heart (which in that case would be suffering from cardiomegaly)

hehehe.

Inspiration & Hope / Re: The Concept of Tithe
July 15, 2009, 01:56:40 PM
Quote from: fdaray on July 13, 2009, 08:05:44 AM
Malachi 3:10 (New International Version)
10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.

2 Corinthians 9:7 (New International Version)
7Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Comparting the two verses, the second verse is great. You can heartily give  more that the tithe.
Your have more blessisngs if your give more.  Both the two are the commands of God. Malachi 3:10 is obligatory while 2 Cor. 9:7 is cheerful giving.

It is said," better to give than to receive. What counts most in life is what we do for others.

hehe, both messages (Malachi and Corinthians) usher the same meaning, Mr. Daray. The tone has not changed, just the matter of perception for the individual according to the Message of the WORD.

When the Lord says "Test Me" in Malachi 3:10, it was an invitation to all to show their faith and Trust in God. The message of Trusting God in Everything, has not changed at all. Whatsoever.

All in all, the basic message is this: If you want to be blessed, tithe and Give to the Lord. If you don't want to be blessed, don't tithe. Tithing is an act of Trust. You do so not because you are forced to do so--but you do so because your Faith directs you to Give in Trusting God's Good Graces.

Its a beautiful concept, an act of Faith. Hearing and Doing the Word. It illustrates how despite the times have changed, freedoms and rights acquired through the liberalization of society---that the Man of God still TRUSTS in God's Grace.

"For Man cannot live by bread alone, but by every WORD that comes from the Mouth of God"

Bible Study / A Message To Husbands: Hear The Lord!

In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does To HIS Church-

Ephesians 5:28-29

Husbands, love your wives. Cherish her, adorn her, protect her, as does Christ Jesus for The Church.
Direct Command na. From the Lord Our God. Lord of HEAVEN and ALL THE EARTH. Lord of all things SEEN and UNSEEN.

We are comanded and prepared to walk in good works.

This verse in scripture completes prior verse in Ephesians that demands 'Faith' for Salvation. :)

God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christâ€"by grace you have been savedâ€" 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
(Ephesians 2: 2-10)

We are reminded that by Faith in Jesus Christ we are saved, but Faith must be completed through your work. Complemented.

Ephesians 2:10 states, "We are HIS workmanship, created in Jesus Christ for Good Works, which GOD PREPARED beforehand that we SHOULD walk in them."

Faith and Good Works.
We cannot be selective in Scriptural Analysis. Ephesians 2 tells us that We are all saved by faith because Christ died for our sins, lest any man should boast. Meaning ani, is that we are saved by Christ's dying on the cross.

But as we were created by God through Christ Jesus--WHO IS THE WORD made FLESH--we were also created to walk in good works.

Ang meaning ani reiterates the same message by the concept of "Being Both Hearers and Doers of the Word." [Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.]

Beauty In Struggles

Life is not life without struggles, the victory of a climb is not victory without the angle and vigor of the trek. The beauty in struggling, in working for what you believe in, Through the merits and Grace of Jesus Christ the Savior Lord, is justified in us through our blood, sweat, toil, and sacrifice.

The good will always struggle, will always be confronted by those who delight in evil, and perverse speech.

It is up to the good individual to bathe in the glory of struggles. To which Christ has demanded us to walk in.

The pains and labor in this life pales in comparison to the Glory to which we shall recieve in Heaven. The Lord's Will be Done.

Bible Study / What Defiles A Person?
July 15, 2009, 12:51:49 PM
10 And he called the people to him and said to them, “Hear and understand: 11 it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.” 12 Then the disciples came and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?”

13 He answered, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be rooted up. 14 Let them alone; they are blind guides.  And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.” 15 But Peter said to him, “Explain the parable to us.” 16 And he said, “Are you also still without understanding?

17 Do you not see that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the stomach and is expelled?  18 But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. 20 These are what defile a person. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone.”

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I recieved good news and wonderful news from my good dear friend JR. A collegiate colleague and confidant. JR, who graduated from Allegheny College this May 2009 with a degree in Physics has told me that he has made the decision, under blessings of his family and his spirit, to join the Royal Priesthood. My friend JR will begin the Seminary this Fall 2009.

I ask and beseech all of you, brothers and sisters in Christ, to pray for him, and to keep him in your prayers. For strength, for the Word of God to burn in his heart, and in his tongue and mouth. So that he will be strengthened for all days in his earthly life to live and breath the WORD.

To be an anointed Sheppard of Christ. To walk in the same footsteps as our Lord and Savior, that humble carpenter, Christ Jesus. :)

Please, keep an extra prayer for JR Louvre. May the Lord God bless and keep him. Amen.

Amy, I am so sorry for your loss. Be strong, sister, be comforted in the fact that those who die in peace and in friendship with Jesus Christ shall be judged fairly unto the Jurisprudence of the Lord Jesus Christ. Who is a Fair Judge. And Loving Savior.

God our Father,
Your power brings us to birth,
Your providence guides our lives,
and by Your command we return to dust.

Lord, those who die still live in Your presence,
their lives change but do not end.
I pray in hope for my family,
relatives and friends,
and for all the dead known to You alone.

In company with Christ,
Who died and now lives,
may they rejoice in Your kingdom,
where all our tears are wiped away.
Unite us together again in one family,
to sing Your praise forever and ever.

Amen.

Amy, be strong, sister. We're here for you. Please know that.
God Bless You, your family, and the soul of  your Lolo.

Turn your ear to heaven and hear the noise inside
The sound of angels' awe
The sound of angel's songs
And all this for a King
We could join and sing
All to Christ the King

How constant, how divine
This song of ours will rise
Oh, how constant, how divine
This love of ours will rise, will rise

O praise Him
O praise Him
He is holy
He is holy, yeah

Turn your gaze to heaven and raise a joyous noise
The sound of salvation comes
The sound of rescued ones
And all this for a King
Angels join to sing
All for Christ our King

Oh la la la la la la
Oh la la la la la la
Oh la la la la la la la la la

How infinite and sweet
This love, so rescuing
Oh, how infinitely sweet
This great love that has redeemed
As one, we sing

Hallelujah
Hallelujah
He is holy
He is holy, yeah

Bible Study / My Savior, My God

I am not skilled to understand
What God has willed, what God has planned
I only know at His right hand
Stands one who is my Savior

I take Him at His word and deed
Christ died to save me; this I read
And in my heart I find a need
Of Him to be my savior

That He would leave His place on high
And come for sinful man to die
You count it strange, so once did I
Before I knew my Savior

My Savior loves, my Savior lives
My Savior's always there for me
My God: He was, my God: He is
My God is always gonna be

Yes, living, dying, let me bring
My strength, my solace from this spring;
That He who lives to be my King
Once died to be my Savior

That He would leave His place on high
And come for sinful man to die
You count it strange, so once did I
Before I knew my Savior.

For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Hebrews 4:12

imho, beating around the bush is impractical. If one disagrees or agrees, say it. Directly. Simply. Face to face. Not behind his or her back, but to the face.

Prompt, direct, and firm.

Christ gave us mouths to speak directly, gave us eyes to look at each other's eyes when we speak to each other. Not to talk to a person's back. But directly.

Brother Azile,

God Bless you for your passion and your love of your brother and to encourage him. God Bless your brother, so that he will be justified in all that he does, through the Mercies and Merits of Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior. Who IS our Light, And Salvation.

Know that your bro is in our prayers.
Thank you, for caring for your brother and bringing this to us.
Let us, as brothers and sisters, bring this to the Throne of The Lord God.

Your message to me, reminded me and reminds all of US:

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort that we ourselves have received from God."
--2 Corinthians 1: 3-4

:)

Yours In Christ,
Lorenzo

Azile,

I could not help but read your response to Angie regarding your brother being down in the faith right now and that he is considering suicide.

I want you to tell him this for me, a message lang from me to him:

Dear Igsoon,
I know that there are times in our lives that we might feel down in the dumps, when everything seems not to go according to plan, when all we do seems to falter or is in constant hold. I understand your situation, I feel for it, Lord Knows I have gone through hard times in my own life, in fact, we all have gone through hard times in life.

However, However, and I repeat again, HOWEVER, that is no excuse for us to give up on this precious gift that has been given to us by God. This gift is called Life.

It is a one time deal, my friend, a one time chance that we have here in this good Green Earth. It is in the most difficult of times, igsoon, that we must not give up or give in to the temptation of the 'Easy Way Out.' Ayaw jud ka think of that.

Be strong, and heal. Rest and heal.

There is a time and place for things, by God's Grace, you will be better. Dont you give up, you hear?

----

Azile, I would recommend that you tell your brother to start reading Scripture.
Trust me, it helps.

God Bless you and your family.

Ethy. I do have a question for you, I was talking to my pharmacology and Behav. Psychiatry instructors regarding this earlier today and one thing that i was observing was that some typical anti-depressant drugs have inductive capability of P-450 enzymes and also some have inhibitory effects of the P-450. So in the case of depressive patients that were taking warfarin or heparin to treat their CHD conditions or any CVD conditions as well as depressive states, this would impede the effect of the drug warfarin since it would be subject to hepatometabolism, or the antithesis in the case of inhibitors of the P-450 isoenzymes. I bet you see alot of prescriptions for patients with depressive states as well as HTN/coagability states with changes in dosage for the hemotastatic drugs.

When we treat patients with drugs of the SNRI class (ventafaxine, venlafaxine), these drugs have critical A/E such as:  GIT disturbance (n/v/d: nausea-vomitting-diarrhea) as well as CNS sequelae, and instances of insomnia and sexual dysfunction.

We are taught to treat depressive patients with: Atypical drug therapy and then typical drug therapy. However, my only concern is the fact that atypical drug therapy has substantial S/E that include: tremors, seizures.

My question to you, regarding this, is : Do you see much prescription of drugs such as Mirtazapine and Bupropion to treat anti-depressive states or more so of drugs such as: duloxetine and venlafaxine, Risperidone, Sertindole, Clozapine?

Thanks a bunch, darling.

In some instances, Ethyl, the patient responds well with monotherapy of EPA (from Fish Oil) and has positive results for depressive patients. But a dual therapy with atypical types such as: Bupropion, or mirtazapine and also: EPA(fish oil) is proven effective.

hehehe cool stuff actually, i learned alot in this mini-research.

Azile, remember this message lang:

When one prays, if dili mo respond ang Ginoo immediately sa atong giampo, that does not mean He ignored us. It just means that HIS plans will proceed in HIS time. Pray hard, pray long, and most of all, always Trust in HIM.

When you think you are alone, that is when He is so close to you.
He knows us when we wake up,
knows what we are thinking,
even before we usher a word, or begin a prayer,
He already knows what we are going to say, ask, and recount.

He knows when our days are bad, good, fine, average, okayralang.

But most of all, He knows when we Trust in HIM.

Because you see--that is what builds a strong and loving relationship with Our God.
It is a simple thing. TRUST. Trust in HIM, in all our ways, all our accomplishments, failures, shortcomings, successes, etc. TRUST.

God Bless You.
Always, God Bless You.
We are praying for your brother and his situation.
May GOD'S WILL BE DONE.
