Reviewed Systemic pathology, and started my research on my presentation on Cardiothoracic Surgical Procedures on Pilot Studies for my presentation in the Journal of Medicine, to be held on the 17th of September.

Had dinner, went biking, and all that fun stuff.

Pessimism and Optimism is essential in Medicine.

It is the optimistic patient that usually survives procedures, and the pessimist that falls to the spread of disease.

The human mind is incredible. :)

I think I have fallen for a Pinay. lol!
I walked with her today to find a bike for her to bike from her apartment complex to the med campus. It was hilarious today. We walked to the bike shop and to see that it was closed till 2:30pm. So then, we walked back...(a 2 mile walk!!!) we were both thirsty. She bought me a can of iced tea, though i tried to resist but she insisted, "cuz you walked with me, Al!!"
haha how could i deny the offer? hehe. i did end up buying her another can of iced tea as well.
So afterwards we walked back (again!) and did find a black bike for her. Not bad, 180$.
We biked back to campus. haha. We took the back roads, behind the soccer field and the cemetary. It was more of a race, really. haha.

She's pinay. 1st year Medical student. Class of 2013 batch.

General Topic / Re: Child of the Sun: Demons and Doctors
September 07, 2009, 02:03:52 AM
Thank you for this article, Ate Ging.

My response to this article is mostly analytical and in sympathetic towards the medical providers: namely, the Physician/Surgeon, Nurses and other allied health professionals.

The statistics provided in this article is staggering, the lack of medical providers and the malnourished peoples in the country suffering from Merasmus, Kwashiorkor syndromes and other malnourished states a result of deficiency in protein-based meals.

However, instead of putting the blame on the medical care provider and his 'unholy alliance' to the pharmaceutical companies and the drug reps, there should be conspicuous analysis on the health management of the country. The country, referring to the Philippines, is experiencing a population boom, and considering the medical establishment is unable to care and provide the necessary care for the rural population, then the most strategic initiative would be to increase medical school acceptance rates, or creation of more nursing and medical schools in the Philippines.

Fine. So let's say, hypothetically the country graduates more physicians/surgeons out of medical school--now how is the establishment going to keep them from migrating abroad? Incentive. Incentive. Everything in this world works in financial incentive, as well as professional codets. A physician's role is to provide medical care to those in need, and also who can provide for the physician. Afterall the life and the procurement of a Medical Doctorate is not an easy task. 4 years undergraduate studies (BS, B.A) and then 4 rigorous years of Medical Schooling, and when that is finished, another 3-4 years of medical residency, and then another additional 3-4 years for medical fellowship.

Lets be practical, who pays for medical education? Is it cheap? Of course not. Medical School is quite expensive (in the United States and abroad). We are looking at an education that costs the student and his/her family close to $200,000 + by the time he finishes. Or in the Philippines, close to $1-2 million pesos worth of education. Now who will pay for the loans?

Financial incentive drives everything, especially in this globalized market and society that we live in.

The Physician immigrates to greener pastures so that he or she canprovide for his or her own family, his or her own needs. We afterall live in a realistic world. It is fine to be idealistic at times, sure.

The Medical Health System in the Philippines needs to increase the wages of the physicians/nurses if they wish to seriously keep their medical professionals within the country. But in dealing with medical immigration abroad, this will be phenomenon that will continue, so long as there is a demand for resources. It follows the economic laws of 'Laissez Faire'. On the notion of free market economics and the millieu of Supply and Demand.

As we speak there are over 180,000+ Filipino Nurses in the United States. Over 20,000 Filipino Physician/Surgeons. Most of them migrated here due to the economic hardships in the Philippies, and the innate need to look for greener pastures. Its a humanistic trait, a humanistic and realistic incentive. hehe

----

In regards to Tiongco's writings about the medical drug reps, that may be a problem in the PHilippines, but here in the United States, that is not so much a reality anymore.

New Laws have prohibited the bribery of physicians and they are now not allowed to give tickets, or expense-free medical sabatticals abroad or around the country. New laws that prohibit such were passed during the Bush Administration.

Bro, Thank You so much for sharing that prayer song.
"I'm pressed bu tnot crushed, persecuted not abandoned,...His Joy is gonna be my strength."

Amen! Amen! Amen! :)

Bro, i am happy to know that  your heart is comforted and feeling better. There have been times in my life, bro, that ive been under scrutiny and loss at the death of loved ones and friends, but you see, all of these have been written in the Book of Life. The Lord appropriates a time and place for everything for all of us, as it is written and told to us in the Blessed Word.

But for you and I, we are both young men, and still in the prime of our lives, the Lord has so much to offer us, though the road that lies ahead may be long, we as Sheeps in Christ, are comforted in knowing that our Beloved Sheppard will come to us if we are lost and are astray. hehe.
He tells us that if he has 100 sheep and 99 sheep are with him, and 1 sheep is astray, he will find that 1 lost sheep and try to get him back. That illustrates the love and FAITHFULNESS of our Lord Jesus Christ. Wow! What a love! hehehe!

Bro, will keep you in my prayers. Please also keep me in your prayers.
Pray for me as I need him more than ever in my life.

God Bless you!
Take care always~

Yours In Christ,
Lorenzo

Bible Study / Re: Bible Study: Tubag Bohol Version
September 04, 2009, 05:17:05 PM
The Bible speaks about repenting from sin. To repent means to change one’s mind, to turn from, and turn to God. Here mind is referred to but the heart is implied. John the Baptist came crying Repent! Repent! Jesus Christ began His ministry with a call to repentance in Matt 4: 17. This call is not to the nation of Israel or nation but it is now the call of repentance to the individual. When we repent and turn to God for Salvation we must exercise or use our faith to receive Salvation.

-----

There are two types of repentance and we can see both in the Old Testament and the New Testament. I will call them this way throughout this text.

1. WORLDLY REPENTANCE

2. TRUE REPENTANCE

What does it mean when I say True Repentance or spiritual repentance?

What does it mean when I say Worldly Repentance?

Let us look at both ways through the word of God:

1. WORLDLY REPENTANCE

Turn your Bible to Exodus Read Chapter 9:

9:1 This was the fifth time God impelled Moses back to Pharaoh with this demand, “Let my people go!” Moses may have been tired and discouraged, but he continued to obey. Is there a difficult conflict you must face repeatedly? Don’t give up, don’t quit, when you know what is right to do. Moses discovered, persistence and patience is a virtue of God and God will reward obedience.

9:12 God gave Pharaoh numerous opportunities to observe Moses’ warnings. But in the end God seemed to say, “All right, Pharaoh, have it your own way,” and Pharaoh’s heart developed into permanently hardened. Did God deliberately harden Pharaoh’s heart and make null and void his free will? No, he merely confirmed that Pharaoh wholeheartedly chose and preferred a life of resisting God. Likewise, after a lifetime of resisting God, people may possibly find it impossible to turn to him. Don’t delay until just the right time before turning to God. Act now as you still have the opportunity. If you persistently ignore God’s voice, eventually you will be unable to hear God’s call at all.

Focus: 9:27-34 After promising to let the Hebrews go, Pharaoh immediately broke his promise and brought even more trouble upon the land. His actions reveal that his repentance was not real. We do damage to ourselves and to others if we pretend to change but don’t mean it

Pharaoh represents the world’s type of repentance. Pharaoh cried out to Moses’ and said he repented but as soon as the plague or hardship was removed he returned to the same sin. How many times have been guilty of refusing to obey God’s word and asking for forgiveness and shortly after the hardship is over we return to the same sin or thing that brought us into bondage in the first place. Pharaoh experienced the power and might of the one true living God and the world of Pharaoh would learn about the Lord through these experiences. Pharaoh represents the natural or physical mans reasoning against the word of God or the spiritual conflict between man and God. Natural disasters can cause us to call out in fear and helplessness; along with hardships or difficulties man cries out but this is not the same as true repentance but arises from the terror of the difficulty or hardship. Man will return to his sin when this type of repentance or bargaining is done. Pharaoh feared the hardships of the plagues but he did not fear or turn to the Lord with a true heart repentance.

Review:

1. Pharaoh did not acknowledge his sin or tendency to do wrong.
2. The nation and Pharaoh did not realize his sin was rebellion against God.
3. They never admitted their sin to God and turned from it.
4. Pharaoh never trusted in God’s willingness to forgive although God demonstrated his patience and Willing to relent.
5. Pharaoh never accepted forgiveness because the hardness of his heart.

2. TRUE REPENTANCE:

Turn your Bible to verses Ezra10 and read.

10:1-2 Focus verses: 3-4-11 Ezra prayed earnestly from the heart. A large crowd wept with him. The hearts turned to repentance and turned to God.

10:3 Why were the reasons these men were commanded to send away their wives and children? Even though the measure was extreme, intermarriage to pagans was strictly forbidden and outlawed (Deut. 7:3-4), and even the priests and Levites had intermarried. This might be compared today as to a Christian marrying a devil worshiper. Although a hardnosed solution, it only involved 113 of the approximately 29,000 families. These marriages were outside the law with pagans who served other gods. They were not covenant marriages. Even today, many are not in covenant marriages. They were believers marrying unbelievers.

Ezra’s strong action, although very difficult for some people, was necessary to preserve and protect Israel as a nation dedicated to God. Some of the exiles of the northern kingdom of Israel had lost both their spiritual and physical characteristics through intermarriage. Their pagan spouses were the root the people worshiping idols. Ezra did not desire this to happen to the exiles of the southern kingdom of Judah.

10:3-4, 11 Following, Ezra’s earnest heart rendering prayer, the people confessed their sin to God. They asked for direction and the God’s way and will in restoring their relationship with God. True repentance does not end with words of confession; this would be mere lip service. Repentance must lead to corrected behavior, actions and changed attitudes. When you sin and are truly sorry or remorseful, confess your sin to God, ask His forgiveness, and accept His grace, mercy and forgiveness. Then, as an act of appreciation for your forgiveness, make the needed corrections. 1 John 1:9 (KJV) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10:11 As believers in Jesus Christ, all our sins are forgiven. Christ Jesus’ death cleansed us from all sin. Why do we still confess our sins? Confession is more than appropriation of Christ’s forgiveness for what we have done wrong, and we do not have to re-confess sins that were previously confessed. Confession is agreeing with God that our thoughts, words, attitudes and actions are wrong and contrary to God’s will. It is recommitting ourselves, to do his will and to renounce any acts of disobedience. Confession is turning away from sin and asking God for fresh power to live for him.

Focus verses: 3-4-11

Ezra prayed earnestly from the heart. A large crowd wept with him.

The people repented from the heart but repentance did not stop with confession. The people turned from their sin, wrong deeds and actions or deeds. True repentance will not stop at confession or it is only lip service. Confession is agreeing with God that our thoughts, actions, behaviors and attitudes are opposing to his word and will. True repentance will lead to change. Confession and repentance brings about recommitting to God’s will and word, and renouncing our disobedience to God. Disobedience is rebellion and the Bible or word says this is the same as witchcraft. Disobedience brings death. Obedience brings life.

I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw: A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest -- and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man.

Dear Brother Joseph,
pray this. Pray this daily:
------------------------------

Dear Lord Jesus, you went about healing all those who were sick and tormented by unclean spirits. You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk. You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from the dead.

O Divine Physician, I come to you now in great need of your intervention. I surrender my life and health into your loving hands. I ask you to send forth your healing power into my heart, mind, body, soul and spirit. Remove from me every lie of the enemy and destroy all the word curses that have been spoken against my health.

If I have accepted medical beliefs that I should not have, I ask for your forgiveness and denounce those beliefs right now. I break every agreement that I have made with my sickness and disease. I denounce every symptom of my illness, and I ask to be set free by the power of your truth.

Please send forth your Holy Spirit to renew my mind and cleanse my thoughts. I refuse to bow down and serve the symptoms of my illness any longer. Please draw my attention away from myself, and help me focus on your enduring love.

O Divine Physician, you are the source and strength of my recovery. Show me how to proceed with your plan for my restoration. I surrender my healthcare into your loving hands. Please help me to discern every aspect of my treatment, medications and recovery process, so that my every thought and action conforms to your good and perfect will for my life. Amen.

I was brought to tears at reading his testimony, and the struggles that he has gone through. I feel as if God has brought me to this page and is calling me to help people jud that are suffering like this.
I was also deeply moved at the compassion of people like you (and all the living saints out there!!) that are so loving to bring this up to us! To give us the awareness!

That, I am very sure of.

Ask of it in Jesus' Name, friend, and it will be given to you.
May the peace and love of our Lord Jesus Christ, Our Loving Savior,

Question and Answer / Re: How did you learn Tubag Bohol?
September 04, 2009, 03:31:13 PM
We are a gregarious group of people, as a group, I have analyzed that Boholanos (foreign and domestic) are a hard working people. We are proud of our hard work, yet humbled in our innate religious nature. Overall, the Boholano is quite family oriented. Though he may be thousands of miles away from his family and roots in Bohol, he or she will give back, and talk frequently to his relatives and maintain an umbilical relationship with his home region.

Boholanos are a very reticent, observing, and overall, productive group of people. Our island may not be as metropolitan as Cebu or Manila, but the expanse of our province, our green pastures, our rolling chocolate hills, and our natural resources are abundant and profound.

As a people, our island and our people are a shining beacon of what a Philippine Province should be. Ecological, environmental, resourceful, and God-fearing. hehehe!

Dong, I hate jud vaccination. I only have a simple mind.  My thinking is that, a bacteria is gonna be injected in my body to fight the flu thru the vaccine.  That thought bothers me no end. I was hoping to reserve my "courage" to deal with needles when I donate blood which I am due next month. Can I do other things instead of vaccination?    :-X

Yes, of course, that is understandable, 'te.

You can beef up your innate immune system by eating alot of citrus fruits (orange, lemon, grapefruit) and taking your daily multi-vitamin requirements. Taking 1000mg of Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) is a great way of beefing up your immune response. Daily prophylaxis is great.

If you ever have flu-like symptoms: per se: Shortness of breath, high fever, sweats, NVD(nausea, vomitting, diarrhea), and GIT irritation, then its best to go and talk to your Family Physician. These are the warning signs of Flu.

Cheers!

We used to have a Horror-Movie Weekend.
My former love and I would watch horror movies back to back.
What I loved? Whenever she gets scared, she wraps her arms around me.
I can hear her breathing and feel her heart pulsate. I would put my two arms around her, and she tightens her grip. One-ness...

General Topic / Re: On The Swine Flu: My Explanation
September 04, 2009, 01:57:05 PM
Ate Ging, Swine Flu is the same thing as Type A influenza, it is just a subtype H1N1, the meaning of subtypes is: mutative types.

Patients and the general population are recommended to get their annual flu shots because viral strains mutate year after year, as a response to host defenses and anti-viral drugs that are in use.

I would suggest that you get the Swine Flu vaccination, especially in endemic areas (farm land, swine farms, immigrant population regions). The reason why we recommend it is because the H1N1 viral strain is resistant to ribavirin and rimantidine treatment (the two are the first class anti-virals given to patients).

However, do note that H1N1 viral strain is susceptible to Oseltamivir, Zanamivir and Interferon Alpha as well as Gangcyclovir and other high yield anti-virals.

----

There is nothing wrong in preventative care (including prophylaxis; vaccination). Unless a patient is already immunocompromised (meaning if a patient has a present weak immune system, then vaccination is contraindicated).

I hope that helped.

This is the duty of our generation as we enter the twenty-first century -- solidarity with the weak, the persecuted, the lonely, the sick, and those in despair. Let me give you guys the total medical explanation.

When dealing with terminal patients, many of them have already made a decision to go on code DNR, and many of them made the decision with a sound mind.

Sometimes, patients' wills and preference are written in their case sheet.
And /or some of them have transferred decision to the Power of Attorney.

Hospice care provides a comfortable and pain-free palitative care for patients suffering the last stages of disease such as : Aids, Cancer, Renal failure, Hepatospleno failure, etc.

In the hospital, if a person is diagnosed with
terminal cancer, the oncologist will discuss
this with the patient if coherent or with
the family or whoever has the power of
     attorney the decision concerning the
     medical intervention for the patient.

A Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) the
same as No Code status will be written
meaning if I find this patient without
respiration then I don't have to do CPR
    just let  the patient go.

Oftentimes, terminal patients will be placed
under the care of Hospice that is if the oncologist
will determined that he has short time to
    live up to 6 months

    Comfort measures only that is
to make  the patient pain-free with narcotic meds
possibly morphine IV  and other derivatives
it will sedate the patient, mostly asleep
at the same time it will suppress the respiratory
area, that  will hasten their demise as well.

All these decisions has to be put in writing,
to make it legal and binding, para sad tawon
dili mi makihang mga nurses sigi sedate aning mga
himatyon na, sunod sa orders sa mga doctors.

Well said, Tita. Well said. This comes from a seasoned Registered Nurse such as yourself.

For terminal patients, there is hospice care. And if they're in hospice, care they're usually coded DNR.

Medicine is of all the arts the most noble; but, owing to the ignorance of those who practice it, and of those who, inconsiderately, form a judgment of them, it is at present far behind all the other arts. Their mistake appears to me to arise principally from this, that in the cities there is no punishment connected with the practice of medicine (and with it alone) except disgrace, and that does not hurt those who are familiar with it. Such persons are the figures which are introduced in tragedies, for as they have the shape, and dress, and personal appearance of an actor, but are not actors, so also physicians are many in title but very few in reality.

Whoever is to acquire a competent knowledge of medicine, ought to be possessed of the following advantages: a natural disposition; instruction; a favorable position for the study; early tuition; love of labour; leisure. First of all, a natural talent is required; for, when Nature leads the way to what is most excellent, instruction in the art takes place, which the student must try to appropriate to himself by reflection, becoming an early pupil in a place well adapted for instruction. He must also bring to the task a love of labour and perseverance, so that the instruction taking root may bring forth proper and abundant fruits.

Instruction in medicine is like the culture of the productions of the earth. For our natural disposition, is, as it were, the soil; the tenets of our teacher are, as it were, the seed; instruction in youth is like the planting of the seed in the ground at the proper season; the place where the instruction is communicated is like the food imparted to vegetables by the atmosphere; diligent study is like the cultivation of the fields; and it is time which imparts strength to all things and brings them to maturity.

Having brought all these requisites to the study of medicine, and having acquired a true knowledge of it, we shall thus, in travelling through the cities, be esteemed physicians not only in name but in reality. But inexperience is a bad treasure, and a bad fund to those who possess it, whether in opinion or reality, being devoid of self-reliance and contentedness, and the nurse both of timidity and audacity. For timidity betrays a want of powers, and audacity a lack of skill. They are, indeed, two things, knowledge and opinion, of which the one makes its possessor really to know, the other to be ignorant.

Those things which are sacred, are to be imparted only to sacred persons; and it is not lawful to impart them to the profane until they have been initiated into the mysteries of the science.
-----------------------------------------------------

Ours is the most noble of all professions.
The defender of life, the saviors of lives.

A physician, by education, and by inclination, is the defender of life.

Not the silencers of life.
Death is the ultimate enemy of the physician.
Our primordial foe.

This was discussed in Medical Legal Ethics.

The following is the Sacred Hippocratic Oath:

I SWEAR in the presence of the Almighty and before my family, my teachers and my peers that according to my ability and judgment I will keep this Oath and Stipulation.

TO RECKON all who have taught me this art equally dear to me as my parents and in the same spirit and dedication to impart a knowledge of the art of medicine to others. I will continue with diligence to keep abreast of advances in medicine. I will treat without exception all who seek my ministrations, so long as the treatment of others is not compromised thereby, and I will seek the counsel of particularly skilled physicians where indicated for the benefit of my patient.

I WILL FOLLOW that method of treatment which according to my ability and judgment, I consider for the benefit of my patient and abstain from whatever is harmful or mischievous. I will neither prescribe nor administer a lethal dose of medicine to any patient even if asked nor counsel any such thing nor perform the utmost respect for every human life from fertilization to natural death and reject abortion that deliberately takes a unique human life.

WITH PURITY, HOLINESS AND BENEFICENCE I will pass my life and practice my art. Except for the prudent correction of an imminent danger, I will neither treat any patient nor carry out any research on any human being without the valid informed consent of the subject or the appropriate legal protector thereof, understanding that research must have as its purpose the furtherance of the health of that individual. Into whatever patient setting I enter, I will go for the benefit of the sick and will abstain from every voluntary act of mischief or corruption and further from the seduction of any patient.

WHATEVER IN CONNECTION with my professional practice or not in connection with it I may see or hear in the lives of my patients which ought not be spoken abroad, I will not divulge, reckoning that all such should be kept secret.

WHILE I CONTINUE to keep this Oath unviolated may it be granted to me to enjoy life and the practice of the art and science of medicine with the blessing of the Almighty and respected by my peers and society, but should I trespass and violate this Oath, may the reverse by my lot.

You don't need a Dr. Kavorkian.

We have what is called DNR.

Do not resuscitate.

When one is terminally ill, he or she will be in hospice care. Pain is dulled by the use of anesthetics and analgesics. Death comes within 2-3 months time.

Giving the family the time to say their goodbyes, and finish any legal paper work.

Kavorkian is the antithesis of a Medical Doctor.
A doctor, by his sacred Hippocratic Oath, has a sole job:
To delay death. And preserve life. To the best of his ability.

In medicine, we work with the wonders of God and proof of his 'fingerprints' day by day. hehehe!

God is Totality.
God is Organized.
God is Order.

Genesis 1-2 states that God made order out of chaos and nothing.
God works through systems. That is fact.

Everything in this Green Earth is systemic.
Every cell works in systems, cells make up a tissue, which make up an organ, which makes up an organ system, which then makes up an organism, which then makes up a population.

And within each cell, are organelles, which are pre-programmed to have a role, a function. And if its functional abilities is negated, it is phagocytosed by macrophages.

Every living organism has an order. Either they be eukaryotes, prokaryotes, mammals, reptilian, aquatic, avian etc.

Physics has order. Chemistry has order. Biology has order.

Even the heavens have order. Gravity and inter-planetary bodies is witness to the order.

Everything revolves.
Literally.

As the electrons revolve around the neutroon and proton, which make up the basis of an ATOM!

So do the moon, stars and planets!
The moons revolve around the planets, and the planets revolve around the stars, and the stars revolve around the milkyway, and the milyways revolve around the galaxy!

You see. God is obvious.
God is present all around us!
Every breath you take, every inspiration, expiration, every cell that is created, that dies, is proof of his Divine Brilliance and Ever Presence.

From the smallest atom, to the largest galaxies and milkyways, is organized, and is allotted a role and function. Is it random chance? Absurd!

It is the Hand of Divine Providence. Who is AUTHOR of ALL THINGS.

GOD IS GREAT!
GREAT OF GREATS!
GREATEST OF ALL THINGS
LORD OF LORDS!

As a medical scientist, I like to analyze the situation in a two point view.

The medical and scientific view and the spiritual view.
Do I believe in evolution?
I believe that the Lord created all things and that nature follows His whim.
I believe that there is a Big Bang. And that it is proof of Creation.

I differentiate myself from other scientists who are athiests in that many of them believe in the notion of random chaos. The Chaos theory. That life in earth came about via random chance.

I believe that creation was not random, but was willed and facilitated by the Mighty Hand of Providence.

Science, in all reality, is new, and we have have dug the apical layer of Truth. hehe.

I categorize myself as a Christian Scientist.
Where other hardcore scientists say Science negates the existence of a God, I say that Science is validating proof that there is a God.

A man should never touch or lay a hand on a woman. Any man who justifies hurting a woman is a spineless coward.

Man is physically stronger than a woman, that is anatomical truth.
Woman is the smarter, and the weaker sex.
So she deserves respect, and gentle treatment.

The Son of Man.

But we should not glorify ourselves, instead, glorify the One that gave us the abilities to do what we can in this life.

Man is created in the Image of God.

So, we have some traits that are are divinely good.
Man can be compassionate,
forgiving,
loving,
healing,
merciful.

But man is also susceptible to sin.
And traits, actions, qualities, and vices associated with it.

Bro, the most painful part of a break up is acceptance of it. Sometimes, some relationships are just destructive. Reading your thoughts from your posts, i cannot help but psychoanalyze your situation and that you are really hurting, and suffering because of this. The best thing, friend, is to just move on. Its hard to do, i know, believe me i know, but you just have to.

She does not deserve you, and in the end, you deserve someone else that will love you back equally the same if not even double! hehe!

Ampo lagi, the Lord has His way of delivering us out of a situation when we we think all is lost.

----

Isaiah 30:18 "And therefore will the LORD wait, that He may be gracious unto you,and therefore will He be exalted, that He may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for Him."

hehehe kani pa lagi! :)

Lamentations 3:25&26 "The LORD is good unto them that wait for Him, to the soul that seeketh Him.

Glorify God In All You Do!

Before you perform a task, Glorify God through it. Offer it to Him as sacrifice, and the Lord will guide your steps. Until the task is done. :)

Wait in the Lord..

The optimist looks at the goods in every situation; the pessimist looks at only the negatives.

One has to be the leader; analyze both and make a decision. And stick to it.

:)

We can't please them all. But it is for the best interest.

Oh? Ka lami sie paminawon na miga bulak. Maajo pa ka kay kalingkawas na. Ang samad nga ahong nahiaguman bag-o pa mao nang maghigwaos pa ko sa gabii usahay makahilak na lamang ug ahat pud.

Unta ako pud no, bisag kana na lamang makamove on na. Usahay bitaw tungod sa kabug-at sa ahong gibati mahunahunaan nahong magpakamatay na lamang kay di ko ganahan sige ug hilak.

Aguy!

Brother, don't say that.
I am sure that you, as a handsome, hard working, family oriented man, have so much to offer to the world and to your future family. Don't entertain the thoughts of suicide and harming yourself because of the loss of a loved one, even as hard as it is.

You and I are still very young. Yours is the responsibility of continuing your education and work, and if your gf does not retain your love, then it is a sign that she is not the one. If she does truly love you, then she will change her heart. remember that!

Your life, is precious. You have so much to live for!

Think about the kids you will bear in the future. For fatherhood is a miraculous blessing in itself! hehehe!

We must put our trust in GOD and in HIM alone.
For he will guide us through whatever ground and difficulty.
Christ Justifies, brother!

Believe me lagi, wait in the Lord, and your prayer will be answered...
Trust and Wait in the Lord....

Dong Bran if both of you are  really meant to be, bisan unsa pay mahitabo sa kalibutan kamo man jud diba? I agree that long distance relationship is very hard to handle, but some people can still do and i envy for those who  truly believe that distance will not hurt a bond between two people that is based on mutual respect, trust, commitment, and love. But based on my experienced, yet i also  have my own share of heartaches with my 5 yrs bf in Phils. I travelled to denmark a year after my graduation in order to save a little money before we settle down, our relationship goes fine after a year that i left but on the next following year, i can feel that his losing faith on it though iv done all my best to sustain the love in our relationship, but i understand that being far behind cannot feel up all the emptiness that we both feel inside, then suddenly i lose my contact to him, and all i knew is that he is about to marry after few months that we lose contact with each other. Damn it hurts a lot but i need to let it go, though i still have lots of words that remain unspoken but i try to forgive him coz i still hope  that there still good things that waits ahead. And the best lesson is you must know how to forget and forgive, though it takes a long process but at least you make the best step on it in order to face your new feature in life.

Concepcion, I do understand how you feel. In the case of my xgf, she and I have plans after college. She is now a 2nd year Law Student and I, a 2nd year Med student. She was the first person who I can safely say that I truly was in love with. We were friends since i was a freshman in college and still talk on occasion. The reason why we broke up was because I didn't want to anchor her to me and didn't want her to feel obliged to wait for me since I was only a 3rd year in college when she graduated. During my christmas break, i talked to her alot, over the phone, but was unable to visit her since she is in Pittsburgh and I'm based in New Jersey. In her voice over the phone, i can still feel a longing on my part and hers.

Would I be open to reopining a relationship? Of course, if it is in her interest as well. But i did tell her before that i would be unable to marry until i am finished schooling as well as my residency and firmly placed in a fellowship program in the field of my interest in medicine.

The age I want to marry is by early 30s or even late 20s. And of course, the issue of family acceptance. She, of course is White-American (French-Irish background). And though I am open in dating all kinds of races, white, latin, asian etc. I've always wanted to settle down with a Filipina woman. Preferably Bisaya.

So that is also the issue.

I cannot marry until I am finished not only studies, but professionally secured.
I want to be able to have the finances to afford a comfortable house and home for my wife, and for my children. I want them to be financially secured and safe. I don't want to marry early because I don't ever want my kids or my wife to have to suffer financial insecurities.

As a man, and as an expectant husband, and father, I want to be able to provide a level of security and stability. Which, in my strong point of view, is imperative for child rearing. And familial stability. To be able to provide for my children with the best schooling their hearts desire.

There is also the issue of familial stability. As the eldest child in my family. I cannot forget my parents and my siblings and my cousins and my uncles, aunts. My responsibility is not only just myself, but also to that of my family.

So I feel the pressure of not only caring for my own self interest, but also for the family's. Of course, that is given, considering I was raised in that atmosphere of 'Family First'.

God Willing, of course.
