I've seen pictures of my parent's wedding. All I can say is: Elegant.

Their wedding was all out. It was held in the Roman Catholic Church in Valencia, Bohol.
The entire town attended the wedding, a huge procession.

The wedding gown of my mother was elegant, which my father purchased for her, and my father clothed in the traditional Barong Tagalog. Eelegant embroidery.

I plan to have my wedding in Valencia, to continue the legacy of my parents, my grandparents, my great grandparents and my ancestors before them.

Continuation of the history.

To Nicholas and Raquel,

Of course you two shall be invited to my wedding, in the not-too-distant future. ;)

I plan in having 2 weddings. The first one will be an American-style wedding, and the other will be held in the Church in Valencia, an old-vintage style Filipino wedding. :)

he he he. Di mo kalimtan nako.

Dia man diay ning thread lami basahon, way nakahatag nakog notisya bahin ani maong nalipat bwahaha. Since the title of the thread includes "Roman" (meaning, Latin Rite), the current status on the issue of celibacy is: No, dili pwede ang Romano Katoliko nga pari magminyo. It's Church law, man-made law which I think started around the middle centuries. Kay sa miaging mga katuigan priests were not celibate. But as far as other Catholic religions are concerned (e.g. Greek Orthodox and other rites) they give their priests option to get married before ordination. But those who get married have no chance of being elevated to the rank of Bishops. For those who chose to stay as celibate, once ordained, dili napod pwede mag minyo.

Celibacy issue is human precept, not natural law. So, pwede gehapon ibalik sa dating practice... but not likely in our lifetime hehehe.

Re: Gwarg's quotation about celibacy as a command of Christ, nope, there's no such verse where Christ ordered celibacy for his priests (he only talk about it as a gift/charism for some, but not for all)... although most of His disciples left homes and families in order to follow Jesus and were sent as Apostles to bring the good news to all corners of earth.

But as of the present, Canon Laws prohibits priests from getting married... automatic ang penalty which is the suspension of his priestly function. So kung magminyo ang pari, way mahimo ang simbahan, and yet priests stay as priests according to the line of Melchiades, aw, Melchisedech d i, dili na lang maka function as one except in case of real emergency... when all rules collapse!

Great explanation, Father.

The very same words that my spiritual director and good personal friend, Fr. Mark Hoffman, reiterated to us in our many Catholic Male Collegiate Retreats at the Diocese of Erie, Pennsylvania.

In the words of His Eminence, Bishop Donald Trautman, the Bishop of the Diocese of Erie, "The ministry of priesthood rises above the toils of marriage life, for the ministry of the royal priesthood concerns itself with the Word of God unto the people. God is Boss. The Priest is the employee. By rite, the priest is married. He is married to Christ Jesus. Body and Soul."

:)

Absolutely Yours in Christ Jesus LORD,
A humble servant of the Lord,

Joe-g,

The soldier-conscripts that served in the Fuerza/ Guardia Civil were mostly Spanish Peninsulares, after the Peninsular War.
The Spanish soldiers that were sent to the Philippines prior to the Peninsular War were mostly white-Spaniards that were raised in Neuva Espana and La Plata.

The Spanish soldiers based in the Philippines, rarely, ever went back to Spain or their respected lands of birth (Nueva Mexico etc), rather chose to spend their lives in the Philippines. Marrying into local women.

May God bless you with discomfort
at easy answers, half truths, and superficial relationships
so that you may live deep within your heart
May God bless you with anger
at injustice, oppression and exploitation of people
so that you may work for justice, freedom and peace
May God bless you with tears
to shed for those who suffer pain, rejection, hunger and war
so that you may reach out your hand to comfort them and
to turn their pain into joy
And may God bless you with enough foolishness
to believe that you can make a difference in the world
so that you can do what others claim cannot be done
to bring justice and kindness to all our children and the poor.

Hey Nick, yes, I was in a college exchange program and admitted to attend Medical Classes at the University of Kiev Mohyla Academy of Law and Medicine.

It was a life-changing experience for me as I had to take a crash-course on Ukrainian/Russian.

You say, "You do you, and Imma do me."
I say, "Aight, girl, fa sho"

You laugh,
I laugh,
You look at me,
And I pretend to ignore

You smile,
I see you with my peripherals,
and I yield to your lips curved in smile,
--I smile.

I lie down with you in the couch,
relaxed, break from studies.
My head on top of your stomach,
you take your hand and rub my face,
fingers carressing my lips.

Baby, are you down down down?

You say, "I can hear your pulse."
You put your hand on my chest,
to inspect my breathing rate.

LoL.

You and I--we're unique, you know that?

So, do your thing. Study.
You do you and imma do me.

Kisses and hugs,

Again, the calling to the priesthood is not for everyone.

All of us, I myself am included in this, will be tempted by sin,
and if that flaw impedes in one's ability to minister to the flock,
then it should be known to the minister to evade in ministering.

Many are called to the Royal Priesthood, but very few are able to completely answer the call.

Daghan ko'g respect sa mga holy priests, holy brothers, sisters, and mothers. And all religious life.

May the LORD's call be answered by men and women who are worthy to serve in feeding the sheep. ;D

Pray na lang ta mga LAYMEN. Pray for ourselves and for our brothers. Because---in the end---we are part of the Communion of Saints.

Pray.

The Holy Rest of St. Imelda Lambertini of the Holy Eucharist.
The Child Saint. The Rapture of Divine Absolution.
Her innocence and faith is made known to us, that the LORD GOD has preserved her body through the centuries.
Her soul has risen to heaven over 7 centuries ago, and her body has not decayed. INCORRUPTIBLE.

SAINT IMELDA, INSPIRE US!
PRAY FOR US TO THE SEAT OF DIVINE WISDOM.

THAT WE MAY HAVE THE BURNING DESIRE TO YEARN
TO TAKE CHRIST INTO OUR BODY.
THE ADORATION AND LOVE OF THE BLESSED EUCHARIST.

PRAY FOR US.

it's a divine encounter.. just like what st Imelda Lambertini  experienced.

"Imelda Lambertini entered the Dominican Convent at the age of nine. She had a burning desire for Jesus in the Holy Eucharist and wanted to receive Communion but was not allowed because she was under the required age of twelve years. She received a special gift from the Lord on the Feast of the Ascension in 1333. While praying, a Host appeared suspended in mid-air in front of her. The priest was called and he gave her Holy Communion. She went into ecstasy and never awakened. She died while receiving her First Holy Communion! Her body remains incorrupt."

he he he, yes, Bem. St. Imelda Lambertini is also the patron for young eucharistees to recieve the Holy Eucharist.

In my personal view lang, Blessed Imelda was so fully touched by the power of Christ Lord in the Eucharist that the her joyous exaltation of her soul was so much that her physical body, the capsule and shell of the eternal soul, was unable to contain her soul's abounding reverberation. That her soul rose to heaven, to join the rows of Holy saints and angels. To sing in eternal choir in the eternal song of praise to the Most High.

There is a saying, "the spirit is willing, but the body is weak."

The body may perish, but the soul, is destined for immortal judgement---and if granted salvation---shall abound in Eternal Paradise with the LORD.

I love the productive discourse in the forum. As a medical professional, my life is enclosed in medical rotations in the hospital or engrossed in book(s) and reading. The conundrums of medical jargon and clinical significance permeates my entire study, from the moment I wake up--dress up--go to class--go to the hospital, read, review, teach etc. One goal. One mode.

Aside from the occasional hanging out with friends, peer reviews, which are modes of stress relief and non-work-related stimulation, there is Tubag Bohol. My personal web site. he he he. I love this site, because it has been a mode of therapy for me, since undergrad studies.

I realize that I've posted over 18,000 posts in this site. As living testament to my addiction (sarcasm) to this site. The entrenched interest and discourse.

One learns alot, one corrects and in return--corrected in the process. Process. Everything here is a process.

A micro-macrocosm of the world that we all belong to and are part of. :)

It's not just a regional web site.

Manay is right, we should not endorse and take any fictional works literally per se the book "Angels and Demons".

---

That being said, I think the sculpture is quite interesting and worthy of discussion:

here is a discourse:

--Some modern critics have derided the semi-syncopal religious experiences as veiled orgasmic phenomena rather than spiritual encounters. However, Robert Harbison has expressed his doubt that Bernini, a follower of the mystical exercises of followers of St. Ignatius of Loyola, would have intended to depict here an episode of lust fulfilled. Instead, Bernini aims to express the facial and body equivalents of a state of divine joy.

Teresa is experiencing a transfiguring coma, the Sleep of God, described by mystics, in which a glimpse of glory is received. Mystics like Teresa would pray for days, often unfed, to achieve such visions. It would have not been unusual for devout daily church-goer like Bernini to spend hours at prayer each day, seeking this experience. The expression here is more like that of the joy of heavenly encounter found in Bernini's Blessed Ludovica Albertoni in her deathbed.

This scenographic chapel unites lifelong themes for Bernini. True to Baroque sentiment, it illustrates a moment where divinity intrudes on an earthly body. Irving Lavin said the transverberation becomes a point of contact between earth and heaven, between matter and spirit. But the dichotomy of the conceit in this artwork echoes further in conjoining joy and pain in Teresa's expression and the conjunction of gilded rays with rippled stone. The unity of architecture, theater, and sculpture found in this complex is a quintessential baroque feature, with the Holy Ghost as light bathing or guided by the gilded rays framing the stature from windows atop the chapel, allowing the sky to enter church.

The effects are theatrical, including the discourse the saint renders among the flanking Cornaro pedigree. The cherubic details around Teresa may repel a secular minimalist, yet they add to the notion that we are seeing a moment of time where God has intruded into one woman's soul, if not pierced her literal body.

10 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven

For there is no comparison to the Name of the Blessed Lord God!

For HIS name rises above all names, seated in heights of spleandor,

Hark to HIS Divine Precepts, honor, mighty, justice, grace, and praise be unto HIS Name.

That the Lord My God was powerful enough to shed mercy to this undeserving student,
the grace to surpass the studies set before my feet.
That the LORD GOD WHO IS ABOVE ALL, has granted me victory over my exams.

I glorify His Name,
Honor, Sacrifice I give to him.
The VICTORY that HE has bestowed upon me, I give back to HIM.
HIS, all is HIS.

The noble Judas ans his fellow comrades made prayers for the dead, as mentioned in 2nd Maccabees, which is an inspired Book in Old Testament. And it was through their prayers that the dead who died in sin were released and atoned.

For prayers of the living rises like incense before the Throne of the Eternal Living God.
Who hears and reads prayers according and appropriated before His Mighty Judgement Seat.

God, who hears all prayers, is a merciful Lord.
Did he not repay the faith of Job after his faith was tested by the devil?

Did he not repay the faithfulness of Mariam and family members of Lazarus when they cried in tears to the foot of Jesus The Christ?
The Lord Jesus Christ, who is MOST LOVING, was moved to tears!
And he resurrected Lazarus, then and there. :)

For the Lord God is a compassionate and Loving God.

Yes there is biblical reference to a state of Purgatory. In the Original Holy Bible, the Catholic Bible, there are books of 2nd Maccabees as well as Sirach (equivalent to Ecclesiastes) and other books that have been removed from the Protestant Bible by Martin Luther, since he, referring to Luther, disagreed with the books and declared them to be 'apochrypal books' or what the Catholic Church refers to them as Second Canon.

Protestants will say there is no reference to Purgatory in the Holy Bible, because well, simply put, Martin Luther and supporters of the Protestant Reformation removed books that vindicated the Teachings and Traditions of the Holy Roman Catholic Church, namely, reference to the Sacraments and the teachings of a Purgatory.

So, the argument will be deviated in the fact that they deny the existence thereof, yet at the same time, they are the ones that deny the accuracy and legitimacy of 2nd Maccabbees and Sirach. For example lang. :)

--

Slackware asked, "Where is a state of purgatory mentioned in the Holy Bible?"

I will answer this, by Grace of the Holy Spirit who commands me to speak.

:

2 Maccabees 12:42-46.

Turning to supplication, they prayed that the sinful deed might be fully blotted out. The noble Judas warned the soldiers to keep themselves free from sin, for they had seen with their own eyes what had happened because of the sin of those who had died. He then took up a collection among all his soldiers, amounting to two thousand silver drachmas, which he sent to Jerusalem to provide for an expiatory sacrifice. In doing this he acted in a very excellent and noble way, inasmuch as he had the resurrection of the dead in view; for if he were not expecting the fallen to rise again, it would have been useless and foolish to pray for them in death. But if he did this with a view to the splendid reward that awaits those who had gone to rest in godliness, it was a holy and pious thought. Thus he made atonement for the dead that they might be freed from this sin.

Quotable Quotes / Forgetting the Meaning
September 26, 2009, 06:05:32 AM
The fish trap exists because of the fish. Once you've gotten the fish you can forget the trap. The rabbit snare exists because of the rabbit. Once you've gotten the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words exist because of their meaning. Once you've got the meaning, you can forget the words. Where can I find a man who has forgotten words so I can talk with him?

Pare, what were the kinds of things they said diay?

Ive read briefly into this before, there is a Mason Temple in South Jersey, actually. In Linwood, New Jersey.

#35348
I heard about a similar case, pare, in Pennsylvania. Some years ago an Amish man killed his wife and disemboweled her intestines, and by the time law enforcement came, the wife was already dead, and the husband eating the remains.

Its manic episode; Excessive dopaminergic activity; deviant schizophrenic state.

Its really sad, as this a mental disorder, and these people have no control over it; as their thinking ability has been jeapordized.

May the Law prevail, perhaps there is a mental hospital to properly assess this patient.

Stand firm to your choice, do not let questions deviate the path.
#35356
Mo add lang ko, just because this question was asked to me and my friends.
On the way out of the mosque, the imam approached us, and asked if we were muslims, I immediately replied, "Al Kitab", which in arabic means, "People of the Book", referring to Christians.

He immediately smiled and asked me if I would like to come again.

I replied his question with a question of my own, 'Would you like to come to Church mass with us, my friend?'
He smiled in return and walked away.

In the end, I admire Tariq's ability to fast for a whole month.
He goes, on occasion, to church with us, as his room mate is my choir partner, Job.

#35357
my good friend Tariq,

#35358
It really was an interesting yet odd experience, going to the Mosque.
I did not want to go inside at first, but after seeing my friends go in, proceeded inside.

I maintained silence throughout the entire time, and excused myself out of the mosque when the Imam began their call to prayer.

I wanted to ask you all, have you ever gone inside a mosque? What did your experience feel like?

#35359
My good friend and medical colleague, Tariq, who is a Muslim (Sunni) broke his fast this week, after the end of Ramadan. He and his fellow muslim brothers invited me and some friends to celebration of Eid Mubarak. The culmination of the Holy Month of Ramadan in the Muslim Religion.

Though I am not Muslim, I did respect my friends' views and religious practice by attending the Breaking of Fast in the local mosque.

There we had some food and conversed and enjoyed a good day.
It was a good experience, as I went with other Catholics and Christians that wanted to extend good will to the muslims in our class.

I ask and pray for greater patience, really, bro.

One of the things that my spiritual director, Fr. Mark Hoffman used to tell me in our Catholic Conference Meetings was that I have a fierce oratory ability, he likened me to a crusader-monks in the olden days.

But then again, I and many of my own fellows that could not answer the call have to deal with our own faults and shortcomings that prevented us from answer the call, completely.

It is really hard sometimes, tho, bro. Because these thoughts to do come and go. Even when I am at the hospital at times, these thoughts come again.

I will not deny, it is a gradual process. I know HE is still calling me to answer the call, but I just cannot answer His call. It is too much, for me, to do. I wish I was stronger..weak. In the end, i am weak.

#35365
It is impossible for the United States to fix everything. We have enough problems to deal with , in itself. In a discussion with a colleague yesterday, I found it quite alarming how our deficit-incurring our defense program has been. Perhaps, it should be addressed by the Defense Committee in Congress to reduce defense spending.

I do admit this. More emphasis should be placed in resuscitating our market economy. The military can hold its ground for now, in the mean time.

Just am happy that the dollar was able to hold on to its worth, especially after this recent financial meltdown.

#35366
I used to contemplate and entertain thoughts of priestly ministry in my last year of college, actually.
But the only thing that prevented me from fully acting on it was the notion of total sacrifice.

I want to have children in the future, to be a physical father, by His Will.

And this was a problem that I had, after attending many various Catholic Conferences for Male Catholic Students at the  Diocese of Erie, Pennsylvania and the Diocese of Pittsburgh, I talked it over with my collegiate chaplain.

His words of advice to me was, "Al, discern, you must discern the calling, if it is legitimate and genuine."
"Are you willing to sacrifice and give up everything to carry the Cross of Priestly Ministry? Can you answer the call of the Royal Priesthood?"

I could not.

I just could not do it. I was called, but I could not answer fully.

And it is okay, for me, i realize that God calls me to a different purpose in life. To live a life of a layman, and to heal the bodies of sick fellows.

----

Many are called to PRIESTHOOD, but very few can answer its calling.
Priesthood is TOTAL SACRIFICE.

:)

It is , in my opinion, one of the greatest Sacraments...

My response:

Nope. If you want to get married, be a deacon or a eucharistic minister :)

There are 2 holy lives:

1. Life of a Priest of Christ or Brother of Christ or Sister of Christ
1a. Life of a Deacon (religious orders that are allowed to marry)

2. Life of a Layman and Laywomen. Can marry, which the sacrament of marriage between layman and laywoman is the quintessential example of Holy Life, a manifest of God's Love, and the fruit of their Love---> Children.

:)

Sacrament of Priestly Orders are for those who are Called and ANSWER the Call by THE MOST HIGH.

The Church are the believers, and Christ is our Eternal Priest.

Who shares His eternal life through the breaking of bread and the sharing of blood in Mass.

When we eat His body and drink of His blood, we proclaim the death of Jesus CHrist until his second coming.

It is work of Salvation.

Are you a firm believer in Christ? Do you uphold the Truths of Scripture and Do you earnestly and faithfully accept HIS Body and Blood? Do you, in your heart, proclaim Christ as your PERSONAL RISEN LORD-KING?

Yes? Then you are saved.
Saved.

You will be counted in the Book of Righteous, at the Day of Resurrection.

Thanks for sharing that very colorful and beautiful personal anecdote, Manay Wilms, :)
I learn more about you every month!  he he he

You sure are right, manay. Romans 3;23 says it all, "For all have fallen short from the Glory of God, for all have sinned before God."

That is why we, members of the Communion of Saints, have to pray for one another. For the living and the dead.
We are all saints. You, your parents, mine, myself, our friends, etc etc. A saint is a person who believes in Christ. And is saved in Christ.

It is the greater continuum of the truths preached in Catholic Church; the concept of COMMUNION OF SAINTS.

I talked to my friend Mercedes yesterday at church,

It is as if the Holy Spirit was there waiting for me, through my friend Mercedes, GOD BLESS HER HEART!

Just for everyone to think and ponder,

Read Matthew Chapter 5, specially verses 13-16:

“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet.

14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Purgatory is the state of purification before one ascends the ethereal clouds.
If one dies with mortal sin,
If one has died with a questioning faith,
for it is written that, 'Only children such as these who believe can enter the kingdom of God.'

To enter the gates of paradise, we have to have a purified faith in Christ.
WHO IS THE ONLY WAY WE CAN BE SAVED.
CHRIST, AND IN CHRIST ALONE.
And we must have works that speaketh for our faith.
For it is said that faith without works is DEAD.

REJOICE IN GOD'S MESSAGE OF SALVATION.
Let your light shine so bright, so that they may see your good works, and Glorify Your Father who is in Heaven.

Gwargz,

The Love and Absolute Wonders of God the Father works in total awe, for all to see and feel.

It is in the preservation of the Blessed Saints that we are reminded of the LITERAL rise of Christ.

That we believe that Christ was CRUCIFIED, was burried, descended to hell and on th 3rd day, ROSE AGAIN.

We believe that HE conquored the powers and authorities of this world, and that through HIS resurrection, by Will of The Eternal Father, has purchased for us, those who believe in Him, a life Eternal.

We believe that Christ walked on earth, after his crucifixion, ate and prayed with the apostles, and showed his wounds to those who questioned.

So we too are reminded that these things DID HAPPEN. That WERE ACCOUNTED AS TRUTH.

So we are reminded, as a people of science, of law, and justice, that GOD THE FATHER is Eternal and His Words unchallenged. A love that is INCORRUPTIBLE.

That He prevents the bodies of HIS saints from decaying!

THERE IS NOTHING IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE LORD OUR GOD!
WHO IS CLOTHED IN ETERNAL SPLEANDOR, AND WHOSE LIGHT PERMEATS ETERNITY!
GLORIFY HIM!
HIS NAME IS GLORY
HIS NAME IS ABOVE ALL NAMES
HE WHO IS MIGHTY TO SAVE!

In Christ,

Blessings and Peace of Our Lord Jesus Christ be with you and your family, Manay.

Thanks for the question, manay it is very hard to care for parkinson's patients, there is great emphasis on physical exertion and emotional/mental ability, God Bless you for your love and caring of your mother in law.

If it is difficult, I would recommend you purchase a nasal feeding tube, to increase nutritional input for your mother-in-law. A decrease in appetite and refusal to eat is a hallmark of parkinsons patients. If you can, Manay, it would be beneficial if you could hire a part-time nurse to help you care for your mom-in-law.

Remember to feed your mom enough soft foods: proteins, starch, and multivitamins.
--If you can, purchase ensure for her, it is a chocolate brand of drink (comes in different flavors; it is a rich source of multi-vitamins, and high in protein and anti-oxidants).
This is what we give to my Lolo, who is himself 82 years old, and is good source of calcium, especially good for elderly patients with developing osteoarthritis and osteoperosis, and increased osteoclastic conditions (bone loss).

here is the link to ENSURE.
Im sure it is found there in Germany, its quite common in Europe.

For your mama's hypertension, ask your doctor to put her on Anti-Hypertensive medication:
recommed the following:
1. ACE INHIBITORS (angiotension converting enzyme inhibitors)
--> If your mom develops coughs when taking ACEINHIBS, then i recommend she takes: ARDS (LOSARTAN)
2. Beta Blockers
3. Calcium Channel Blockers
---> this works well for elderly patients over 55yo.

Thanks for asking Manay, and I do earnestly hope and pray your mama stays in good health.

God, who is told to us in Timothy is unapproachable since His Divine Light. No one has seen the Father God, but we are given a glimpse of His Divine Power through His Son, Jesus CHrist.

For it is said, "No one can come to the Father but through Jesus Christ."

The Lord God, has sent his messages to His beloved through Angels.
He appropriates messages through Angels, who are messengers of Almighty Providence.

----

The following are examples of Angels being sent to declare GOD'S message:

1. The Angel of God and wrestling the prophet Jacob--the latter being blessed for surviving the encounter
2. The 3 Angels that talked and conversed with Abraham, and on the salvation of the two sister-cities : sodom and gomorrha
3. The Angel Raphael being sent Tobias
4. The Angel Gabriel was sent to Mary of Bethlehem to bring glad tidings that she was chosen by God The Father to bear His Son, Jesus Christ LORD.
5. The Angel of God that unlocked Apostle Peter's prison cell, and allowed Peter to escape unscathed.

and many, many more!

Angels are God's messengers. We see this throughout OLD TESTAMENT and NEW TESTAMENT chronology. he he he

A reading from Isaiah 59, verses 9-21:

9Therefore justice is far from us,
   and righteousness does not reach us;
we wait for light, and lo! there is darkness;
and for brightness, but we walk in gloom.
10We grope like the blind along a wall,
   groping like those who have no eyes;
we stumble at noon as in the twilight,
among the vigorous* as though we were dead.
11We all growl like bears;
   like doves we moan mournfully.
We wait for justice, but there is none;
for salvation, but it is far from us.
12For our transgressions before you are many,
and our sins testify against us.
Our transgressions indeed are with us,
   and we know our iniquities:
13transgressing, and denying the Lord,
and turning away from following our God,
talking oppression and revolt,
conceiving lying words and uttering them from the heart.
14Justice is turned back,
   and righteousness stands at a distance;
for truth stumbles in the public square,
   and uprightness cannot enter.
15Truth is lacking,
and whoever turns from evil is despoiled.

The Lord saw it, and it displeased him
   that there was no justice.
16He saw that there was no one,
   and was appalled that there was no one to intervene;
so his own arm brought him victory,
   and his righteousness upheld him.
17He put on righteousness like a breastplate,
   and a helmet of salvation on his head;
he put on garments of vengeance for clothing,
and wrapped himself in fury as in a mantle.
18According to their deeds, so will he repay;
   wrath to his adversaries, requital to his enemies;
to the coastlands he will render requital.
19So those in the west shall fear the name of the Lord,
   and those in the east, his glory;
for he will come like a pent-up stream
that the wind of the Lord drives on.

20And he will come to Zion as Redeemer,
to those in Jacob who turn from transgression, says the Lord.
21And as for me, this is my covenant with them, says the Lord: my spirit that is upon you, and my words that I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, or out of the mouths of your children, or out of the mouths of your children’s children, says the Lord, from now on and for ever.

A reading from Isaiah 59, verses 1-9:

See, the Lord’s hand is not too short to save,
nor his ear too dull to hear.
2Rather, your iniquities have been barriers
   between you and your God,
and your sins have hidden his face from you
so that he does not hear.
3For your hands are defiled with blood,
   and your fingers with iniquity;
your lips have spoken lies,
   your tongue mutters wickedness.
4No one brings suit justly,
   no one goes to law honestly;
they rely on empty pleas, they speak lies,
   conceiving mischief and begetting iniquity.
5They hatch adders’ eggs,
   and weave the spider’s web;
whoever eats their eggs dies,
and the crushed egg hatches out a viper.
6Their webs cannot serve as clothing;
they cannot cover themselves with what they make.
Their works are works of iniquity,
and deeds of violence are in their hands.
7Their feet run to evil,
   and they rush to shed innocent blood;
their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity,
desolation and destruction are in their highways.
8The way of peace they do not know,
and there is no justice in their paths.
Their roads they have made crooked;
no one who walks in them knows peace.

Bible Study / Re: Ecstacy of Saint Teresa, you view?

I believe in it.

For did not the Holy One of God came down from Heaven to Earth?
Do we not believe that the GREAT I AM,
chose to be born into the form of man, so that man could be saved?
Chose to be born by a humble maidservant, Mary of Bethlehem. Wife of Joseph of the House of David?

Did not the Lord God Jesus Christ compel the apostles to speak in tongues at the day of Pentecost?
Did not the Lord God marvel the wise men, learned men in the temple when He was but a boy-child?

Teresa was touched by the Holy Spirit.
Awakened with the fire of God's Divine Awakening.
The birth and evangelization of a Solid Life In Christ.

Hers is a perfect example of woman's obeiscance to God's Will.

You see, brethren in Christ,

Since days of Old, the Lord's message to us, even in the Old Testament to New Testament, has been this:

Put Trust in the Lord, and He Shall guide All Your Paths. Delight In The Lord, and He shall appropriate for you.

----
Psalm 37:4
Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.
