Bible Study / Re: DAILY PRAYER
November 04, 2009, 02:16:17 PM
Brothers and Sisters in Christ!

PRAY THIS DAILY PRAYER.
----

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray this prayer in the power of the Holy Spirit. In the name of Jesus Christ I bind, rebuke, cast out and bring to no effect all spirits of division, discord, disunity, strife, anger, wrath, murder, criticism, condemnation, pride, envy, jealousy, gossip, slander, evil speaking, complaining, lying, false teaching, false gifts, false manifestations, lying signs and wonders, poverty, fear of lack, fear spirits, murmuring spirits, complaining spirits, hindering spirits, retaliatory spirits, deceiving spirits, religious spirits, occult spirits, witchcraft spirits (including Jezebel, Delilah, Queen of Heaven and Apollyon), and spirits of antichrist.

I bind and break all curses that have been spoken against me. I bless those who curse me, and pray blessings on those who despitefully use me. I bind all spoken judgments made against me and judgments I have made against others. I bind the power of negative words from others, and I bind and render useless all prayers not inspired by the Holy Spirit; whether psychic, soul force, witchcraft or counterfeit tongues that have been prayed against me.

I am God’s child. I resist the devil. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. I put on the whole armor of God. I take authority over this day, in Jesus name. Let it be prosperous for me, let me walk in the love of Jesus.

The Holy Spirit leads me and guides me today. I discern between the righteous and the wicked. I take authority over Satan and all his demons, and those people who are influenced by him. I declare Satan is under my feet and shall remain there all day.

I am righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I am God’s property. Satan you are bound from my family, my mind, my body, my home, and my finances. I confess that I am healed and whole. I flourish, am long lived, stable, durable, incorruptible, fruitful, virtuous, full of peace, patience and love. Whatsoever I set my hands to do shall prosper for God supplies all my needs. I have all authority over Satan, all demons, and beasts of the field.

God, I pray for the ministry you have for me. Anoint me God for all you have called me to do for you. I call forth divine appointments, open doors of opportunity, God ordained encounters and ministry positions.

I claim a hedge of protection around myself, spouse and children (names) throughout this day and night. I ask you God, in the name of Jesus, that you dispatch angels to surround me, my spouse and children today and to put them throughout my house and around our cars, souls and bodies. In the name of Jesus I pray that you will send angels to protect my house from any intrusion and to protect me and my family from any harmful demonic or other physical or mental attacks. I ask this prayer in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Blessings and Peace of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Pray with me, folks.
For this is not just for Brother Skelton, but for all of us, who are innately tempted by sin.

-----------
Open your ears to our words, O Lord.
   Consider our innermost thoughts.
Pay attention to our cries for help, our king and our God.
Because we pray only to you.
In the morning, O Lord, hear our voices.
In the morning we lay our needs in front of you,
           and we wait. (1)
Have pity on us, O Lord, because we are weak.
Heal us, O Lord, because our bones shake with terror.
Our souls have been deeply shaken with terror.
But you, O Lord, how long...?
   Come back O Lord.
Rescue us. Save us because of your mercy! (2)
We are worn out from our groanings.
Our eyes flood our beds every night.
We soak our couches with tears.
           Our eyes blur from grief.
They fail because of our enemies.
Get away from us, all you troublemakers,
because the Lord has heard the sound of our crying.
The Lord has heard our pleas for mercy.
           The Lord accepts our prayers.
All our enemies will be put to shame and deeply shaken
with terror. In a moment they will retreat and be put to shame.
O Lord our God, we have taken refuge in you.
Save, us and rescue us from all who are pursuing us. (3)
Arise O God! Lift your hand O God.
Do not forget oppressed people! (4)
Look at us! Answer us, O Lord our God!
Light up our eyes or else we will die
and our enemies will say, "We have overpowered them."
Our opponents will rejoice because we have been shaken.
       But we trust your mercy.
Our hearts find joy in your salvation.
We will sing to the Lord because he has been good to us. (5)
The Lord is our inheritance and our cup.
You are the one who determines our destinies.
Your boundary lines mark out pleasant places for us.
Indeed, our inheritance is something beautiful.
Let the verdict of our innocence come directly from you.
We have avoided cruelty because of your word.
In spite of what others have done,
our steps have remained firmly in your paths.
           Our feet have not slipped.
We have called on you because you answer us, O God.
           Turn your ear toward us.
Hear what we have to say.
Reveal your miraculous deeds of mercy,
O Savior of those who find refuge by your side
           from those who attack them.
Guard us as if we were the pupil of your  eye.
Hide us in the shadow of your wings.
Hide us from the wicked people who violently attack us,
from our deadly enemies who surround us. (6)
We love you O Lord our strength.
You reached down from high above and took hold of us.
You pulled us out of the raging water.
You rescued us from our strong enemy.
O Lord you light our lamps
Our God turns our darkness into light.
       God's way is perfect!
The promise of the Lord has proven to be true.
He is a shield to all those who take refuge in him.
God arms us with strength and makes our way perfect. (7)
Even though an army sets up camp against us,
our hearts will not be afraid.
Even though a war breaks against us,
we will still have confidence in the Lord.
We have asked one thing from the Lord.
This we will seek: to remain in the Lord's house
all the days of our lives in order to gaze at the Lord's beauty,
and to search for an answer in his temple.
Now our heads will be raised above our enemies
           who surround us.
Do not surrender us to the will of our opponents.
False witnesses have risen against us.
           They breathe out violence.
We believe we will see the goodness of the Lord
in this world of the living.
Wait with hope for the Lord.
Be strong and let our hearts be courageous.
Yes we wait with hope for the Lord. ( 8 )
We have taken refuge in you O Lord.
Never let us be put to shame.
Pull us out of the net they have secretly laid for us,
into your hands we entrust our spirits.
You have rescued us, O Lord, God of truth.
We will rejoice and be glad because of your mercy.
           You have seen our misery.
You have known the troubles in our souls.
You have not handed us over to the enemy.
You have set our feet in a place where we can move freely.
Our future is in your hands.
Rescue us from our enemies, from those who persecute us.
Smile on us. Save us with your mercy.
O Lord we have called on you, so do not let us put to shame.
Let their lying lips be speechless,
since they speak against righteous people
           with arrogance and contempt. (9)
O Lord attack those who attack us.
Fight against those who fight against us.
           Arise to help us.
Hold your spear to block the way of those pursue us.
Let those who seek our lives be put to shame and disgraced.
Let those who plan our downfall be turned back to confusion.
Let their path be dark and slippery
as the Messenger of the Lord pursues them.
Rescue our precious lives from the lions.
We will give you thanks in a large gathering.
We will praise you in crowd of worshippers.
Let those who promote themselves at our expense
be clothed with shame and disgrace.
Let those who are happy when we are declared innocent
           joyfully sing and rejoice.
Let them continually say, "The Lord is great.
He is happy when his servants have peace."
Then our tongues will tell about your righteousness,
about your praise all day long. (10)
You have made us endure many terrible troubles.
You restore us to life again.
You bring us back from the depth of the earth.
You comfort us and make us greater than ever. (11)
During times of trouble we called on the Lord.
The Lord answered us and set us free from all of them.
It is better to depend on the Lord then trust mortals.
It is better to depend on the Lord then to trust influential people. (12)
We wait for the Lord, our souls wait,
and with hope we wait for his word. (13)
Loudly, we cry to the Lord.
Loudly we plead with the Lord for mercy.
We pour our complaints in his presence,
           and tell him our troubles.
When we begin to lose hope,
You already know what we are experiencing. (14)
A righteous person will always be remembered.
We are not afraid of the bad news.
Our hearts remain secure, full of confidence in the Lord.
Our hearts are steady, and we are not afraid.
In the end we will look triumphantly at our enemies.
The wicked people see this and become angry.
They angrily grit their teeth and disappear.
The hope of those wicked people will vanish. (15)
O Lord blessed is the person
whom you discipline and instruct from your  teachings.
You give us peace and quiet  from times of trouble,
while a pit is dug to trap wicked people.
When we said "Our feet are slipping,"
Your mercy O Lord continued to hold us up.
When we worried about many things,
Your assuring words soothed our souls. (16)
We call your name from the deepest pit, O Lord.
Listen for our cries for help.
Don't close your eyes when we cry out for relief.
Be close at hand when we call to you.
You told us not to be afraid.
Plead our cases for us, O Lord. Reclaim our lives.
Look at the wrongs that have been done to us. (17)
We will look to the Lord.
We will wait for God to save us.
We will wait for our God to listen to us.
Don't laugh at us, our enemies.
Although we have fallen we will get up.
Although we will sit in the dark, the Lord is our light.
Then our enemies will see this, and be covered with shame,
because they asked us,"Where is the Lord your God?"
           Now we look at them.
They are trampled like mud in the streets. (18)
The reason we can still find hope is that we keep this
one thing in mind: The Lord's mercy. We were not
completely wiped out. His compassion is never limited.
It is new every morning. His faithfulness is great. Our
souls can say, "Lord is our lot in life. That is
why we find hope in him.  The Lord is good to those
who wait for him, to anyone who seeks help from him.
It is good to continue to hope and wait silently
for the Lord to save us." (19)
Lord please pay attention to our prayers and
to the prayers of all your other servants who want
       to worship your name. (20)

In the name of our High Priest and Redeemer, the
Christ, through the power and intercession of the Holy Spirit,
our Comforter, we pray in faith, hope and love.  Amen!

But the WORD OF GOD lasts forever.

I subscribe to:

Even if we don't agree, let us be civil to one another.

Or sa medicinae dictum, they say,
"The patient may disagree with you, and he/ or she may have a vendetta, but always manage to nod and go on with the diagnosis without impediment."

I like that. Mo subscribe gyud ko ana.

Love Talk / Re: An Open Love Letter for an Unknown Woman
November 04, 2009, 01:21:33 PM
My Beloved Darling,

Darling, I have thought about this for some time now,
for my heart and soul always thinks.
Even when we talk and I sit to listen, I think always.
I think ahead, always.

My love, would you cross the oceans for me?
My love, if I were hurt and needed your longing presence, would you come to me?

If I were sent to the dismal places of The Midwest to do my residency there, would you follow me?
Or would you comply with the distance that will be placed between us, in our march towards our goal?
For you know, my sweet, I would wait for you. I will reject any and all offers by any woman and all women that comes to my path for the sake of you. And you know it. For my heart is yours. I offer it to you.

But would you do the same for me?

Would you wait for me? As I would for you?
Love, my love, I would climb the mountains for you.
I would pick the nectars of old for you.
I will write you letters as I have already done.
For these letters are but a mere superficial manifest of my feelings for you.
Deep.

I have opened the door to my soul to you, which I keep closed to many.

Baby,

I thought about you today though we did not even talk.
I saw you today during break, but was unable to stop and converse for I had so much work to do.
I got your text message, loved it.

My love, my sweetheart, my little muffin kisses, I relish and crave you.
But we must be conservative and rational on our feelings, my love.
Wait for me, love, and I shall cross the oceans for you.
Wait for me, love, and I shall follow you, to wherever you may go.

Wait for me,
Wait,

Love Talk / Re: Your Opinion On : The Best Kiss
November 04, 2009, 01:08:35 PM
The Kiss,

It is not based on how many times the lips touch, nay.
The perfect kiss is dependent on a multi-faceted aspect:

The timing of the kiss,
the emotions beneath it,
the softness of her lips,
the moist passion.

The involvement of the tongue,
not too hard, not too weak, but just right.
Passion, and emotions combined with the physical longing.
Combined in one.

For myself, I can kiss my love for hours.
And not grow weary.

A woman's mouth, is the doorway into her soul.
For out of her mouth, speaks her soul.

I think there are plenty of mature  young men out there, Raquel, its just that it is hard to sift the immature from the mature ones especially for women in their early 20s because of the assocation of friends and thus leads to early/incorrect assortment.

Bro, good point.

Mo admit lang ko tho, the sexual prime of a man is really in his mid 20s to 30s.
Natural sildenafil and cialis. he he he. No need for artificial product.

One word: Hour-Glass Body.

Something about a woman in her late 20s, perfumed with christiana dior, with red nail polish, dressed in fine lingerie, and red silk dress. 3 inch heels. Lipstick on, but conservatively applied.

Mature and well developed. The Voluptuous type, yo gusto.

Male barbers are, in my opinion, fast and rough. I don't enjoy being catered by them.

I prefer female barbers because they take their time, they like to chit chat. I love how they take their time with their fingers, gliding through my hair, and take the time to use the scissors even after the shave.

My own personal prejudice.

hehehe I can subscribe to this emotional frustration.

Whenever I go to the barber, my instructions are simple and direct.

"Sir, I want a military crew cut. Please and Thank You."

He replies, "How short, do you want it?"

I remark, "Military style, Please, and Thank You."

He remarks, "And your beard? You 'want it shaved?"

I remark back, "I did not mention the beard because I don't want it touched. Please, and Thank You."

Lorenzo, thank you for refreshing my memory with those info you
narrated, yes, I learned those way back in my schooldays.
I just share  what I learned and anybody can check it out through
the internet check Dr. Mercola, he is one of the very few
compassionate medical person known , and  more
from other sources that I know of.

Here's more that I would like to share to all;
Mrs Desiree Jennings, 25 years old of Reston, Virginia believed all the hype.
She dutifully got a flu shot to earn healthy living points for her
work health plan. She was in great health- until a few days
after getting her safe and effective shot when she came down
with flu-like symptoms; fever, vomiting, weakness in her legs
and body aches. She got the shot on August 23.

After Labor Day, she was even more fatigued.
She passed out at work and again at home
Her husband took her to the emergency care as she went
into convulsions.
She was transferred to a hospital in Loudoun County, Virginia
where she spent 3 days.

She was transferred to Fairfax Hospital, then to John Hopkins
in Baltimore to see specialists.
She was seen by 60 medical experts, including her
primary care physician, physical therapists, speech therapists
neurologists, psychiatrists and a bevy of nurses.

Desiree can whisper softly but not talk loudly.
She used to run 3K, but now can't walk five feet formally.
She can move sideways and backwards but not forwards.

Her Physical Therapist in John Hopkins diagnosed her
problem as dystonia.
Dystonia is a neurological movement disorder where sustained muscle
contractions cause body jerks and abnormal or
repetitive movements.

To add to the family's misery, Desiree had a
seizure trying to navigate the stairs in her home, she slipped.
Her husband Brendan leaped to catch her and broke his foot.

Wiser now, Desiree and most of her doctors say,
"Don't get the flu shot if you're healthy" and not at risk.

Karon Lunes, and I just finished my long week-end shift,
sad to say pero usa sa akong patients kay
after having the flu shot didto sa iyang doctor's office
matud sa family niya kay after over a week, she suddenly
became mentally altered, nakalitan ang bana grabe ka yabag
motig-ik usahay abi nako dunay iring sa iyang room.
All the neuro tests that the doctors can think of gibuhat na
but no answer to the family of what is going on.
Wala gyud ko mocomments sa pamilya what I know, I am
defending my job as I said I love to give needles
that's my favorite part of being a nurse.

Flu shots, yes, anyone who wants it just say the word
I will administer it but absolutely not to me  :D
Hmnnnn interesting

Ma'am,

It is a pleasure to exchange ideas, and information with you here. I take highly into consideration your point of view and your veteran experience as an R.N. In fact, I had a conversation with my own mother about Swine Flu while she was here last week visiting me, and my own mom who is a a veteran ICU Nurse for over 25 years agrees with me. She is hesitant on live vaccines, but accepting regarding attenuated vaccinations.

As physicians, we are encouraged and trained not just to educate our patients about different forms of vaccination programs, but are also encouraged to be injected with all vaccinations for hospital exposure sakes.

Thank you for your post, I read it and take it into serious light. Again, always good and enlightening to read the words of our skilled nurses.

Respectfully Yours,

Romans 3:23, 'For all have fallen short of the Glory of God."

We all are repeat offenders. We all sin, even after remission of sin. It is mandated after man's fall and due to Satan's rule in the world. Man is tempted to sin. And will always sin. As such we are all deservant of death and eternal perdition. It is said in Romans 6:23, "For the reward of sin is death, but the Gift of God is Life in Jesus Christ."

The meaning of this is that all will sin. Either it be sexual lust, which is a sin, lying, gossiping, perjury, commiting adultery, commiting murder, covetting, jealousy, anger, etc. All of these are sins. And non in this world is free from it.

And all are repetitious sinners. Repeat offenders.

It is not for us to Judge. For we are not God. Nor do we know how God thinks like or how he functions.
For it is said to us, folks,

""For my thoughts are not your thoughts. Nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. "
--Isaiah 53:8

Remember that folks.
#34933
Let us Pray for strength to Brother Skelton.

And instead of condemnation, let us offer prayers on his behalf before the JUDGMENT SEAT OF JESUS CHRIST LORD.

Bless and in return we shall be blessed!

#34934
I do believe in TOTAL REMISSION OF SINS!

If we confess in our hearts to the Heart of Hearts--Jesus Christ who is LORD, then the sin is removed. Cleansed.

Romans 3:23 dictates to us that "FOR ALL HAVE FALLEN SHORT BEFORE THE GLORY OF GOD!"
That tells us that no one is greater than any other, for we are all sinners.
And as sinners, we are all worthy of death!
BUT! We have life eternal for those who accept SALVATION in JESUS CHRIST WHO IS LORD!

REPENT AND BE SAVED!
REPENT!
#34935
If Skelton asked repentance from Christ, then he is forgiven. Completely washed.

It is out of the hardness of men's hearts that look for the wrongs of every situation.

Skelton is a minister of Christ, and as a man born from sin, formed from sin, he will sin in his own time.

I am sure that with prayer and with faith and support he is handling his own past.

For no saint is without a bad past.

Blessed Paul who was once known as 'Saul' prior to his conversion was responsible for the persecution and death of Stephen, a martyr of Christ.

But Paul was touched by the Holy Spirit. He is a Doctor of the Church, and powerful in Biblical Ministry.

For God sees the weaknesses and looks into the depth of the heart.

Let us pray for Brother Skelton, to continue preaching, and to stay strong in his faith and in helping to build the faith of overs through his ministry of the Blessed Word.

Christ Preserve the Faith of the Faithful!

In His Name,
We Pray.

Matthew 7: 1-5,

“Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. 3 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

Bitaw, dili nato sa ni ijudge kay basin ug nagbag-o diay na.

We must always remember, brother, to warn others of the act of Pharisaical tendencies.
None of us is righteous, none of us is worthy to be even considered pure of heart.
For there is only ONE who is righteous and it is The Eternal Living GOD.

Who would stone a brother who sins when the one who first throws the stone is himself guilty of sin?

Christ Jesus said, "The one who is born without sin can cast the first stone."

None is born without Sin , but Christ Jesus Himself.

:)
#34938
I am touched to read that individuals are concerned about Brother Skelton, however, we should remember Romans 3:23

And remember that there is none of you that is without sin. For sure some of you have committed adultery, perjury, lying, covetting, even blaspheming before the Lord Your God.

So do not judge, that is up for the ETERNAL JUDGE. Christ Jesus who is LORD.

Remember that.

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

Reading this thread allowed me to remember a lecture by my former Professor of Roman History, Richard Turk, a Professor of History at Allegheny College. To paraphrase his eloquent message:

"Lo, the great emperors of Rome, who deigned themselves and fashioned themselves as living God-Emperors. Seated on the golden throne of the Imperial Captilloline, in whose name the legions of Rome marched to overseas frontiers, conquering and sacking capitals, and enslaving entire populations to fuel the ever-hungry economy and machine that was the Roman Empire.

In life the God-Emperors were enrobed with the violet Imperial Regalia and crowned with golden Laurentius, their very hands were decorated with Imperial sages. From the moment they awakened in the morning, they were offered divine praises, upon visitng the Altars of the Roman pantheon of deities, they, too, were offered divine praises by the priests and by the senatorial class.

But in the end, the Emperor dies.

Who would have thought that such a regal persona such as the Imperial Eagle himself, the God-Emperor, who sits on the golden throne of Rome, upon the high altar of the Capitolline steps, would suffer a mortal fate?
A man who was washed with perfume, and massaged in olive oil, nails kept clean, foot covered in the finest silk, and whose body was covered by the most expensive armour when upon the field of battle. Whose noses were used to the smell of incense burning, and whose ears were used to hearing the praises of the governed.

Would be, in the end, destined to the Pyre. To be burned, to be reduced to ashes.

A god-emperor does die."

November 2, 2009.

By Grace of The Almighty Lord, the day was productive, mind was on track, and body was able.

Today was a productive day, started early as we changed clinical instructions to Dr. Natalia, who is now teaching us Abdominal-Gastric Systems. The level of maturity she expects of us is quite intense, and quite humbling, as we are being instructed by a highly educated veteran OB-GYN who holds two Ph.Ds and one M.D. Today we did lower abdominal inspection, the different signs; palpations, percussion methodology, patient history taking, as well as medical etiquette. I exceedingly enjoyed her class and being able to interact with a live patient. A reprieve from the long medical lectures in power point or from the staged patients (usually played by one of my medical batchmates).

Our Medical Clinical Class started at 8.AM sharp, and ended at 10 AM sharp. I had a 10 minute break for coffee before beginning Systemic Pathology lecture, which was from 10:10am till 12 noon. Work mode.

Today, I had the chance to sit down and work non-stop and just read. Haven't had this quiet time in a while, just being able to read for 5 hours straight without any interruption. :)

Am at home right now, just enjoyed a nice home-made pinakbet w/ beans and finished it with pears.
Back to work. So far, that is what I did. I shall be up late tonight till 2-3 AM to do some more work.

Thus is a life of a 2nd year Medical Student.

Dear Blog,

So I am relieved to know that my mother and my sister got back home safely. My mother and my sister came to stay with me for a week from last Saturday to this past Saturday, staying with me in my apartment, though I had classes all week. I took them to the beaches, to the medical campus, shopping districts, to church, as well as saw the sights in the local atmosphere. My friends were introduced to my family, thanks to mommy's home-made pancit and adobo that we all ate with delectable appreciation.

Thanks so much Lord for allowing my mom to take a week vacation to visit me and check up on me, as I was homesick for a bit. But that is life, and the journey in this road of Medicine is not an easy road, but it does help to see, feel, and talk to one's family and loved ones through the journey. Thanks be to God.

It feels good to know that family is good back home, Thanks be to God.

Thanks be to God, who is wondrous in His Compassion.
Praise be to God!

Brother, it is good to know that we are part of global movement, a  youth movement. The Fervent Evangelization of The Holy Mother The Church! I love it.

My friends Albert, Job, Shalabh, Eric and myself sing in our Church Choir (Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church) and we have been introducing new Christian songs to the praise songs in church, thanks to the compliance and acceptance of Fr. Ranulfo, our parish priest. Who himself is very new and post-Vatican II in mentality.

In my belief, there is nothing wrong when one sings loudly in church, and raises one's hands to the sky in reaching for the Holy Spirit's Eternal Grace.

If you really really truly absolutely clamor for His presence, and Glorify Him, He will fill you with His Holy Spirit. Powerful and spiritual experience. It is when you know that your prayers has really reached the Judgement Seat of Christ.

When someone talks about personal difficulties, do not respond with a "gloom and doom" attitude. Listen with compassion and avoid simplistic advice. Say something such as, "I know this is a tough time for you, but it won't last. Let me encourage you: God will see you through, and I'm here to help, too."

-----
God comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God

I really like this thread. :)

Personally lang for me; of course there have been times that I have been put down by the harshness of words of some individuals, impietous tongue that are meant to degrade and lambast, but you know, instead of exchanging the same words like them, for they are wicked in the heart, I forgive them. And I pray for them. I pray for them, earnestly and in fervor that The Lord God will forgive them for their blasphemous tongues. It is in HIM that we must put our trust.

Encourage one another, help one another, put aside our differences, for sure there will be some, and in the spirit of Grace of Jesus Christ our Risen LORD, we must at least glorify HIM and comply in His statues.

And even if we are discouraged by the perjurous tongues of others, do not fear nor should you be afraid and hurt. For if we abound in Faith in Christ Jesus, we are justified in all things. All Things.

Christ is LORD!

“do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.”

For Roman Catholics, it is good to note that the first pope, Blessed Peter the Apostle, himself, recognized the power of the Holy Spirit in the gift of tongues (Speaking in Tongues).

Do read:

Acts 10:44-48 “While Peter yet spoke these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. 45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, 47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.”

Gifts Of The Holy Spirit

The apostle Paul addresses this tongue speaking (or glossolalia) when sorting out the recalcitrant Corinthian church. The brethren there were scrambling to outdo one another by exercising spiritual gifts. Paul (I Corinthians 14) laid down rules - rules ignored in modern practice, as I had experienced:

   1. all spiritual gifts are inferior to love - the prime fruit of the in-working of the divine Spirit (I Cor. 13)
   2. gifts are divinely dispensed to benefit the whole assembly (I Cor. 12:7)
   3. gifts are dispensed individually by God's sovereign will (12:18) and no-one has all of them (v.30)
   4. far superior to speaking in an unlearned language is the gift of `prophecy' - edifying the assembly in words clearly understood (ch. 14:19)
   5. the gift of `tongues' [languages] is not for the benefit of the converted (v.22)
   6. in public worship those who exercise it are to be limited (v.27), and are to speak one at a time to avoid confusion
   7. it's public use is permitted only if someone present has the supernatural gift of interpretation (v.28)
   8. gifts are not spontaneous but are under the control of the individual (14:32f)
   9. Any individual or church professing to have and promote the gift of speaking in tongues must be judged by these criteria.

In memory of our loved ones who have gone to their eternal rest, let us remember them.

In earnest prayer:

Lord, Jesus Christ Lord.
You who are the glory of The Eternal Father God, vouchsafe for us the clarity of mind to live an honest and God-fearing life in compliance to the Will of Your Father God. Protect us all from any and all harm: physical and spiritual.

Lord, Jesus Christ,
Grant peace to the souls of those in purgatory,
and pardon them their sins. We ask this in your Blessed Name.
Lord have mercy on those that have passed into their eternal rest.
May they be judged with mercy and justice. Lord Hear our Prayer.

We Ask this through Your Name.
Through The Same Christ Lord.
In Him
Through Him
and For Him.

AMEN.

The Context of Luke 18;

The gap between Jesus and the Pharisees began early in Luke’s gospel (chapter 5) and has been ever widening as the ministry and the message of the Lord Jesus Christ has unfolded. The Pharisees have already decided that Jesus will not be their Messiah, and thus they have begun to seek various occasions to renounce Him publicly (11:53-54). Their opposition to Jesus has progressed from questioning (11:53-54, etc.) to grumbling (15:1-2), to outright scoffing (16:14). Jesus has not been taken back by this nor has He in any way let up on them. He has already spoken some scorching words, directly renouncing their pride and hypocrisy (cf. 11:37-52). But in addition, He has spoken numerous parables which put the Pharisees in a bad light (cf. chapters 15 and 16).

One of the problems of Pharisaism was that it was hypocritical (12:1, etc.). Their hypocrisy was rooted in a desire to please men rather than God, which resulted in a conformity to human standards and values rather than God’s law (16:14-18). This resulted in an emphasis on appearances rather than on the attitudes of the heart (16:15). Thus those whom Pharisaism and others would have praised, Jesus cast in a very different light. Of those who would have been condemned on the basis of external appearances, Jesus spoke favorably. Talbert points out the way in which our Lord has consistently been overturning the contemporary value system, as outlined by Luke:

“The story fits into the general theme of status reversal in the third gospel. The New Age will overturn the values and structures of the present evil age. We meet this theme in the birth narratives (1:51-53) and in the Sermon on the Plain (6:20-26). In the travel narrative (9:51â€"19:44) Jesus’ teaching anticipates this eschatological reversal even now in overturning the estimate of what is virtue and what is vice. Consider 10:29-37 (good Samaritan/bad priest and levite); 10:38-42 (good inactive Mary/bad active Martha); 11:37-41 (good unclean/bad clean); 12:13-34 (good poor/bad rich); 14:7-11 (good humble/bad exalted); 15:11-32 (good prodigal/bad brother); 16:19-31 (good Lazarus/bad rich man); 18:18-30 (good poor/bad rich). Into this thematic context 18:9-14 fits (good tax collector/bad Pharisee) as another example of Jesus’ reversal of values. How can it be? What is wrong with so obviously good a man as the Pharisee? What can be right about so obviously perverse a person as the publican?”27

In the 17th chapter of Luke’s gospel, the focus has changed to the coming kingdom of God, introduced by the question of the Pharisees concerning the timing of the coming of the kingdom (17:20). Jesus briefly answered their question and then turned His attention to His disciples, instructing them concerning the kingdom. The topic is still the kingdom of God when we come to chapter 18. Verses 1-8 have to do with the disciple’s need to persist in praying for the coming of the kingdom (even though its arrival may appear late), and adversity, persecution, and injustice may suggest that the coming of the kingdom and the establishment of justice on the earth therefore seems unlikely. The second paragraph in chapter 18 turns from prayer for justice to prayer for mercy. Here, the self-righteous prayer of the Pharisee is contrasted with the penitent prayer of a tax-collector. Jesus turned the tables once again by saying that it was the penitent tax-collector who went away justified, rather than the pious-appearing Pharisee.

Piety, Persistence, Penitence, and Prayer

Read Luke 18.

1 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. 2 He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men. 3 And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’ 4 “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care about men, 5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually wear me out with her coming!’ “ 6 And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7 And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8 I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” 9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other menâ€"robbers, evildoers, adulterersâ€"or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’ 13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’ 14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” 15 People were also bringing babies to Jesus to have him touch them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. 16 But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 17 I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

---

In studying Luke chapter 18 it may be good to pause and look back on the gospel of Luke from the vantage point of the Book of Acts. Dr. Luke wrote both of these books as companion volumes. We seldom study or teach them as such, although we probably should. These books were written a number of years after the death, burial, resurrection and ascension of our Lord. They were written at a time when the church was born and was rapidly growing. It was also a time when the church was predominantly Gentile, but when the Judaizers were working very hard to make law-keeping Jewish proselytes out of Christians and treating them as second-class citizens in the kingdom of God. Furthermore, it was a time when the first generation of believers, including the apostles, were about to pass from the scene.

The Books of Luke and Acts made a great contribution to the church in many ways, but pause with me to consider two specific areas which will shed light on what we are about to study in Luke. First, it was becoming evident that the kingdom of God was not likely to commence as quickly as some thought and hoped. As we now well know, there was to be some period of delay between the first and second comings of our Lord. The kingdom of God would be established, but not immediately. When Luke wrote this gospel the saints were coming to this conclusion, and Luke’s writing was intended to demonstrate that this delay was hinted at, indeed clearly implied, by our Lord’s words to His disciples. Our text in verses 1-8 points to this delay and to its implications.

Second, the church Luke described in the Book of Acts was constantly hounded, resisted, and rejected by the legalistic Jews who wished either to Judaize Gentile saints and the church or to keep them at arm’s length as second-class citizens of the kingdom of God. This opposition to the church by the Judaizers is a frequent theme in Acts, and Luke sets out to describe its roots and its remedy in the gospel account which he penned. By describing the opposition to our Lord by the Pharisees in the gospels, Luke prepares us for the opposition to the church by the Judaizers in Acts. Just as the Pharisees looked down on Jesus and the “sinners” He attracted and received in the gospel of Luke, the Judaizers looked down on Paul and the Gentile Christians. Why, after reading Luke, should we be shocked to see the opposition of the Jews to the church in Acts? Furthermore, in his gospel Luke sets out to show us very clearly that while the Pharisees (not to mention the Jews in general, including the disciples) rejected and resisted the grace of God being bestowed on Gentiles (especially Samaritans!â€"cf. Luke 4:16-30; 9:51-56), Jesus from the very outset purposed to save them, and He would not be hindered from doing so (cf. Luke 4:24-27).

My point is to establish that we are intended to understand this passage in Luke and, indeed the whole gospel, not only in the light of what has gone before but also in the light of what is going to happen (which is dealt with in the Book of Acts). We should understand the Book of Acts in the light of the preparatory writing of the gospel of Luke. Thus, Luke is indeed a prerequisite to understanding Acts. Much of the error in interpreting Acts may be the result of an inadequate grasp of Luke and its preparatory message.

Our text contains two major paragraphs. One unifying element is the common ingredient of prayer, which is a theme in both paragraphs. In the first (verses 1-8), we have the prayer or petition of the persistent widow which is constantly put before the unjust judge. In the second paragraph (verses 9-14), we have the prayer of the self-righteous Pharisee contrasted with the penitent prayer of the tax-collector.

Take note that in our text the Lord Jesus is teaching His disciples two lessons in contrast. The first lesson, that of perseverance in prayer, is taught by contrasting God, the righteous Judge who will speedily bring justice to the earth, with the unrighteous judge who reluctantly and only under duress gives the persistent widow the vindication and justice for which she petitioned. In the second paragraph, Jesus taught the attitude which is prerequisite for all prayerâ€"humility. Thus, we see the smug self-righteousness of the Pharisees contrasted with the repentant contrition of the tax-collector. The underlying spirit of both is revealed by their prayers.

In this text we can learn much about ourselves from our prayer life. We will also find that Jesus has much to teach us about the kind of prayer befitting the saint who awaits the coming kingdom. We should consider carefully these words spoken by our Lord and recorded under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit by Luke for our instruction and edification so that we may live in a way that is pleasing to Him, by His grace.

Note Ma'am,

that it was through live-attenuated vaccines of Small Pox in the 1960s-1970s that led to the total eradication of Small Pox from the face of the Earth.

It was  a massive UN-WHO (United Nations-World Health Organization) led campaign. And in 1979, the last case of Small Pox was heard, and it was in East Africa.

It was through a vaccination program that has eradicated Poliomyelitis/Poliovirus (the virus that caused Polio) in children and young adults, it was through an effective global vaccination program that eradicated Small Pox from the face of the Earth. Small pox was the viral forms that caused the deaths of millions of native americans in Norht America, as well as hundreds of millions of peoples throughout the span of human history.

And it was through a viral vaccination program that we, Humans, have defeated our ancient foe.

It is also through viral vaccination program that we have decreased and lowered flu-related deaths throughout the united states and the world. It is also through the vaccination programs that we have reduced the mortality rates due to the plethora of viral infections out there (paramoxyviridae, orthoviridae, cocksakieviridae, HPV, EBV, HSV (T1,2) etc etc.)

You and your husband made a very smart decision for your children
See below the information I would like to share with you;
     What's in a Vaccine?
Most people are not aware that vaccines typically
contain in addition to the viral and bacterial RNA or DNA,
many of the following fillers (according to Dr. Joseph Mercola)
aluminum hydroxide, aluminum phosphate, ammonium sulfate,
amphotericin B, animal tissues;pig blood, horse blood,
rabbit brain, dog kidney, monkey kidney, chick embryo,
chicken egg, duck egg, calf(bovine) serum betapropiolactone,
fetal bovine serum,  formaldehyde,
formalin gelatin, glycerol,
human diploid cells (originating from human aborted fetal tissue)
hydrolized gelatin, monosodium glutamate (MSG),
neomycin, neomycin sulfate, phenol red indicator
phenoxyethanol (antifreeze),
potassium diphosphate, potassium monophosphate,
polymyxin B, polysorbate 20, polysorbate 80,
porcine (pig) pancreatic hydrolysate of casein,
residual MRC5 proteins, sorbitol,
sucrose thimerosal (mercury)
tri(n)butylphosphate, Vero cells,
washed sheep red blood cells and more .

Tan-aw ug balik ang formaldehyde para na sa
   mga patay gamit pag embalsamar
ang mercury makadamage kaayo na sa
   utok (neurological damage)

Unya moingon ang news kono rising
epidemic ang autism, hmmm.

Depende ra man na, Ma'am.
There are two types of vaccines, available, Ma'am.
Live and Attenuated.
Live forms are ones that cause insidious onset--but provide the body with the necessary antibodies, best given for healthy individuals and are contrindicated for immunocompromised patients.
Then there are Attenuated forms of vaccines. Weak viruses that are placed in bacteriphage capsules and are intradermally administered into the patient, weak enough to not cause a major immune-host reponse, but effective enough to allow the body's COMP immune system to produce approproiate memory B cells and with it antibody-coating systems to provide host immunity in later exposures of the same viral form in the future.

this is a very nice news pareng lorenz.

Its good to know that research is indeed proceeding.
Right now, tho, most funding in medical research is in the total cure for HIV/AIDS.
We have now created and distributed PIs (Protease inhibitors) and antiviral meds that help in stemming the effects of a decreased CD4 count and a immunocompromised state, which has greatly increased the survival rates for HIV/AIDS patients in just the last 15 years.

Aids patients that used to only have a 4-5 year life expectancy in the 1980s are now having a life expectancy rate of 30+ years so long as the right protease inhibitors and antivirals are given in combo with appropriate abx(antibiotics).

That is the beauty of medicine, my dear friend, we march continually to progress.
For the betterment of the entire Human Species.

WN,

We just need to be realistic here. We all knew that corruption is super rampant in our country. Was there anybody being convicted of corruption? Imprisoned?

We all knew that they are corrupt. But to prove them in court is a different story. GMA is also corrupt. Impeachment against her does not work and we all knew the reasons. Do you believed that erap is not corrupt? erap was noted of much wrongdoings as president. although you can say he was not even convicted with the plunder. but in reality he did the plunder. just proving it in court is difficult, as you said, they can thwart the law. The justice system does not work as it meant to be.

Now, both GMA and Erap noted to be corrupt and have wrongdoings as President, You still want erap to be president? What for?

It is a sad reality that we Filipinos (Foreign and Domestic) must grasp and take into serious consideration.
The governmental corruption in the Philippines is perfidiously rampant. It is sickening.
The level and depth of corruption transcends the political pillars to the everyday jurisprudence of local law enforcement, sickening.

Stories of police officers being bribed by 100-200 peso bribe, to local beurocrats offering bribes to grant favors and political graces.

If they only knew, Marcelo Del Pilar, Luna, and the great Dr. Jose P. Rizal would be rolling in their graves. To see what their beloved Filipinas has turned into.

Rizal, in specificity, would have died a second time to have seen his beloved Filipinas, whom he gave his life for, become a literal transfiguration of the classed oligarchy that it was in his own epoch. Nothing really has changed.
Unfortunately.
