I sat in contemplation today as I watched this video again, and talked to Job, and Albert earlier. How truly...Filipino.

That despite our regional differences, we are all--in the end, FILIPINO.

Albert's ancestral root is in the province of Iloilo, Western Visayas.
Job's ancestral root is in the province of Lucena, Luzon Mainland.
and my humble ancestral root comes from Bohol, Central Visayas.

All three of us represented our provinces in this performances, but all represented the Philippines.

God Bless the Philippines!

Mao bitaw. I know that there is also a Sales family in Valencia. Related man ko sa Salise family b/c my lolo's mother was a Salise. Mrs. Donisia Salise. She married my great grandfather, the late Mr. Ricardo Salvo.

In regards to Tito John, yes we are very close. We always attend their family events and our families host the vigils to the Blessed Santo Nino every Christmas/ January.

His older sister was good friends with my lola, the late Mrs. Fortunata Tan Salvo.

Dear S__________,

I love how you are so direct to me, you share your honest opinion, and do it so respectfully.
We talked to dayas I enjoyed my rainbow trout, and you enjoyed your Spanish Fajita.
I gazed at watched you eat today, and took everything in.
You have a peculiar way of eating, very meticulous.

Thanks for lunch.

Love Talk / If I Could Express My Love,
December 12, 2009, 07:04:09 AM
by: Albrando Lorenzo Lucino Jr.

If I could express my love for you,
it would be unfair for my heart would feel my lips and my mouth unworthy to usher forth the purity of love.

If I could sing to you how my heart extolls in joy in seeing you,
it would be to no avail for my voice is not as beautiful and unable to come to par with the ethereal reflection that I feel when I see you, hear you, talk to you, am with you, converse with you, laugh with you, overall~ just being around you.

If I could write you letters, and write I do, it would yet still fall short,
for there no words to describe my feelings, some come close, some fall short, words do no justice.

I I could pick you flowers, roses, daffodils, orchids, for you, still it would be impossible,
for the flowers that I have listed cannot even compare to the beauty and the aroma that you exude from each and every single facet of your entire being, which God Almighty, was glorious in designing and creating.

If I could hold you for the whole night, I would feel ashamed and guilty because I know that when I hold you with my arms and my hands, it is hard for me to let go, to release your body's warmth, to separate our lips from one another.
For your lips are are sweet as the nectars that grow on top of Mount Olympus, as soft as the gentlest breeze on the first morning of spring as the dew of the melting white snow melts, as warm as my beating heart's life blood.

If I could express my Love, my love, I would cry for its beauty and deep countenance and faithfullness is what I share to only the luckiest and worthiest of souls. You are worthy of it. And I give it to you, freely, openly, totally.

If I could sing a praise, I would sing in Glorious Shouts to the Lord, for allowing us to meet~ for His Plan I will trust in.

My darling sweet heart, baby cakes, my sweet escape,..Mahal Kita. Gugma ko nimo. Palangga Ko ikaw. I Love You...

Hi Lady,

7 more days till we are home for winter break.
You know, woman, before I met you, I wanted to get back home all the time, but now that since I've met you, I miss you so much. Distance between you and I in these next two years will be great. I will be in clinical rotations, and you will be still finishing your 2 years of basic sciences.

I want to know that I cannot picture myself with any other woman besides you.

You correct me, you give me constructive criticisms, you teach this Leo to lower his roar into a purr, to remind me to see the ground that I walk, and I love it. I would rather have it come from you than anyone else. Because I cherish you. I do really care for you..deeply.

Study hard and good luck on your finals.

Know that I am praying for you. And thinking about you.

Faithfully Yours,
Albrando

Take heed;

The LORD is a jealous God, filled with vengeance and wrath.  He takes revenge on all who oppose him and furiously destroys his enemies!  The LORD is slow to get angry, but his power is great, and he never lets the guilty go unpunished.  He displays his power in the whirlwind and the storm.  The billowing clouds are the dust beneath his feet.  At his command the oceans and rivers dry up, the lush pastures of Bashan and Carmel fade, and the green forests of Lebanon wilt.  In his presence the mountains quake, and the hills melt away; the earth trembles, and its people are destroyed.  Who can stand before his fierce anger?  Who can survive his burning fury?  His rage blazes forth like fire, and the mountains crumble to dust in his presence.  The LORD is good.  When trouble comes, he is a strong refuge.  And he knows everyone who trusts in him.  But he sweeps away his enemies in an overwhelming flood.  He pursues his foes into the darkness of night.

The saying goes, "Put your faith and your trust in the LORD in all things, for He shall direct your paths. In all your ways, acknowledge the LORD, and He shall make your paths straight."

Glorify the Lord and humble yourself before His presence, and for sure He shall glorify you.
However, if one glorifies himself/ herself and does not recognize the Lord, for sure~ the Lord shall humble you.

Question and Answer / Re: What type of car do you drive?
December 11, 2009, 08:38:25 AM
Thank you, Bai Bedo! It was my 18th birthday present that my father bought me. It was a surprise present, as I remember going with him to Vineland Mitsubishi Motors, a Mitsubishi dealership in Southern New Jersey.

I was in my senior year of high school.

My father told me that he wanted to check some truck out; I followed him, and went with him to the dealership.
Then the car salesman talked to him and said, "so is this your son, the lucky guy?"

I was amazed. My dad was smiling. "Yes, this is him."

Then my dad took me to the side and told me that that 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Sport was "YOURS".
I lit up and smiles and grinned. I could not believe it.

We drove it home. And I have had it ever since.

I used it in high school and used it throughout college. And am using it in medical school. I will probably keep this SUV forever; it is my first car; and it has sentimental value to me. It was my father's gift/ present to me.

~~~~
I promised him that one day I would get him a Mercedes S-500 someday.
He corrected me, "Di ko ana, gusto ko Mercedes GL Series!"
hahahaha!
I love my DAD. :)
1 Peter 3:1-6
In the same way, you wives must accept the authority of your husbands, even those who refuse to accept the Good News. Your godly lives will speak to them better than any words. They will be won overYour beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight . That is the way the holy women of old made themselves beautiful. They trusted God and accepted the authority of their husbands. For instance, Sarah obeyed her husband, Abraham, when she called him her master. You are her daughters when you do what is right without fear of what your husbands might do.
Proverbs 31: 9-31
The Wife of Noble Character
A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.
She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.
She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.
She gets up while it is still dark;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her servant girls.
6 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.
In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.
When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.
She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
"Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all."
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.
Two sides of the coin lagi, bro. It is a gas guzzler, pero, the benefits is that it is friendly and perfect for a big family, and provides safety for people who drive alot--or in areas where it snows alot. Good investment, imho.
My parents drive a Toyota Seqouia as the family car. It is a gas guzzler, but provides excellent protection for the family. It's a V8, its also 4 wheel drive if necessary, pero safe.
You do get what you pay for.
There was a time last year when I was so busy studying for our final exams in 1st year medicine that I did not even have enough time to cook food..mo kaon lang ko sa gawas kai medyo busy. And I always wore my green GAP Sandals. Then one time as I was walking to class to Pharmacology...my sandal strap broke because it literally was thinned out. LoL!
My professor saw this happen as he walked in the classroom and chuckled at me, "Dr. Lucino, I think you might need to replace  your footwear."
nakakatawa pood ko intawn. :P
And I sometimes bike to campus..so i biked back to my apartment with one sandal on my feet. ha ha ha!
Spain's Military Forces that were stationed in the Philippines did go through an interesting change of styles.
During the 18th century, when the level of Hispanization of the Philippines was in full scale, the the uniforms worn by the Alcade Mayores and the Military Ruling Class consisted of the following:
Note that the Spaniards even wore their traditional "whig" attire and full coat even when they were in the heat-steaming jungles of the Philippines.
Royal Spanish Officer's Uniform.
Royal Attire.
Infantry Attire.
Spanish Royal Dragoons.
Hi!  Would you know the color of the Spanish officers' uniforms of this period (Phil-American War)?  Some suspect that it was light gray.  Earlier paintings show navy blue and red.
The Spanish Officer's Uniform during the Spanish-American War/ Spanish-Philippine Revolutionary War of Independence was standard light blue. With stripes on the leggings.
Here is a Spanish reinactor dressed in the uniform of the Royal Spanish Infantrymen during the 'Dos Guerras De Espana' (The 2 Spanish Wars) / referring to Spain's defeat to both the United States and the Philippine Forces.
The following were the Spanish Cavalry Uniforms during the war:
The colors have not changed.
Yea man, I know my Mitsubishi will last a long time. My dad still drives his 1996 Toyota 4 Runner to work; it has over 300k miles in it. Runs like new.
Im hoping that my Moterosport lasts until I finish residency. And maybe I can get / treat myself to a new luxury sedan or luxury SUV.
I get about 21 mpg wen i drive in the highway; about 17-18 mpg when I drive in the city.
Lorraine wants to go into Obstetrics/ Gynecology  and/or Pediatrics.
Just from knowing her all 22 years, and from observing her care for her brothers, her friends, working in her lab, and her dedicated studies, she will, indeed, be a good physician.
She is loving, compassionate, open minded, lovable, direct, STERN, conservative, family oriented, forgiving, not quick to judge, beautiful, Religious and Faithful to God, and motivated/ directed in her studies.
As my only baby sister, I will continue to watch over her and guide and direct her during her studies in medicine. As we both have plans in opening a medical center together someday. A Lucino Medical System. By God's Divine Grace.~
With her personal choosings, I trust that she will be as discerning and selective in whoever she chooses to be her lover/partner. And she knows that her Kuya will not accept anyone that is unworthy of her. Only the best for she deserves nothing BUT the Best.
Her humility speaks when silence overwhelms.
Her intelligence is testament to our blood line.
Her beauty is product of Valencia and the blood line of Salvo, Salise, Tan and Lucino.
She is loved and cherished by her family.
And Justified in her Savior Lord~ JESUS CHRIST who is LORD.
Lorraine, keep your eyes on the goal.
You can do anything and All Things through Jesus Christ who Strengthens You.
Is it normal for daydreaming how our children would look like~?
And my eyes are set on you, and no other.
I shall wait for you, as you should wait for me~ for I shall wait for you, you know that.
I shall cross the seas for you.
I want to be the one to protect you, care for you, be there for you.
I call you. You and no other.
I praise Him for this beautiful day, I praise Him for the strength He bestows upon me,
I praise Him for the enlightened heart that I have in concerning you and studies,
for the Lord Jesus Christ is Kind to me, gracious to me, and faithful to me.
I praise Him for the kindness that you have shown to me,
for our many outings and our many dates~ laughing, and growing deeper into one another,
for the many sunsets that we have seen together~
for the privileged and gift in seeing you sleep~ and being able to protect you in your most precious of moments.
Praise to the King The Eternal Father God, Praise to the Risen and Resurrected Son Jesus Christ, Praise to the Most Holy Spirit Who proceeds from the Father and the Son Jesus Christ. Holy And Exalted In Heaven and throughout All Creation!
And I shall Wait on the Lord's Continued Graces in Blessings of Life and Love, for He is my Cup and Bread.
I pray that the Good Lord continue to watch over us, my Love, that His Blessings are fulfilled to those who asketh~
I pray that the Faithful Lord Jesus Christ continue to empower you with words of wisdom, with a mind that continues to strive in the path of knowledge, which comes from the Goodness of the Lord, with a mind that seeks and longs to work in righteousness, and with the faith to move mountains set before you. My love, I have tried with all my being
to grasp a form comparable to thine own,
but nothing seems worthy;
I know now why Shakespeare could not
compare his love to a summer’s day.
It would be a crime to denounce the beauty
of such a creature as thee,
to simply cast away the precision
God had placed in forging you.
Each facet of your being
whether it physical or spiritual
is an ensnarement
from which there is no release.
But I do not wish release.
I wish to stay entrapped forever.
With you for all eternity.
Our hearts, always as one.
Bible Study / Re: Prayer For Enemies
December 09, 2009, 02:43:11 AM
Lord, the hardest thing you asked
Was that we love our enemies. (Matthew 5:44)
We know how we'd like to love them:
We'd love our enemies to be far away.
We'd love them not to compromise our security.
We'd love them not to scare us or change the way we live.
We'd love them to be lovable.
You know, God,
We'd love it to be popular to love enemies.
We'd love our neighbors to respect us for this good deed.
We'd love the people on the news to provide examples of how to love.
But then, if loving enemies were easy,
Jesus wouldn't have told us about the tax collectors and gentiles,
Who love only their friends. (Matthew 5:46-47)
If loving enemies were easy, we know
We wouldn't need God's strong arms to bear us up in difficult times.
We wouldn't need the blood of Christ to save us from human sin.
We wouldn't need the Spirit flowing among us, wiping our tears.
We wouldn't need the Bible to tell us what the world does not.
God of all mercy,
Who loved us when we were your sinful enemies, (Romans 5:8 )
Who saved us through your immeasurable grace,
Who gave us a gift we did not deserve,
Let us imitate you by loving those who are yet our enemies. (Ephesians 2:1-22)
Teach us to know how to love enemies,
To wish them the best of the life you intend each human to have,
And then pray and act so those wishes come true.
Teach us hope, so we know that with your blessing, impossible dreams become reality.
Teach us faith, so we know that only the strength to stop hating will halt the cycles of violence and revenge.
Teach us forgiveness, which we know is suffering love through piercing tears.
Teach us, O Lord, your ways.
When our community looks at our congregation,
Hears our words and sees our deeds,
Help them to know that you, the God of love, live among us
And that they can come to us to learn about Christian love of enemies.
A Prayer for One's Enemies - by St Nicolai of Zica
Bless my enemies, O Lord. Even I bless them and do not
curse them.
Enemies have driven me into Thy embrace more
than friends have.
Friends have bound me to earth, enemies have
loosed me from earth and have demolished all my
aspirations in the world.
Enemies have made me a stranger in worldly
realms and an extraneous inhabitant of the world.
Just as a hunted animal finds safer shelter than an
unhunted animal does, so have I, persecuted by
enemies, found the safest sanctuary, having
ensconced myself beneath Thy tabernacle, where
neither friends nor enemies can slay my soul.
Bless my enemies, O Lord. Even I bless them and do not
curse them.
They, rather than I, have confessed my sins
before the world.
They have punished me, whenever I have
hesitated to punish myself.
They have tormented me, whenever I have tried to
flee torments.
They have scolded me, whenever I have flattered
myself They have spat upon me, whenever I have
filled myself with arrogance.
Bless my enemies, O Lord. Even I bless them and do not
curse them.
- 2 -
Whenever I have made myself wise, they have
called me foolish.
Whenever I have made myself mighty, they have
mocked me as though I were a dwarf.
Whenever I have wanted to lead people, they
have shoved me into the background.
Whenever I have rushed to enrich myself, they
have prevented me with an iron hand.
Whenever I thought that I would sleep peacefully,
they have wakened me from sleep.
Whenever I have tried to build a home for a long
and tranquil life,they have demolished it and
driven me out.
Truly, enemies have cut me loose from the world
and have stretched out my hands to the hem of
Thy garment.
Bless my enemies, O Lord. Even I bless them and do not
curse them.
Bless them and multiply them; multiply them and
make them even more bitterly against me:
so that my fleeing to Thee may have no return;
so that all hope in men may be scattered like
cobwebs;
so that absolute serenity may begin to reign in my
soul;
- 3 -
so that my heart may become the grave of my two
evil twins: arrogance and anger;
so that I might amass all my treasure in heaven;
ah, so that I may for once be freed from self
deception, which has entangled me in the dreadful
web of illusory life.
Enemies have taught me to know what hardly anyone
knows, that a person has no enemies in the world except
himself.
One hates his enemies only when he fails to realize that they
are not enemies, but cruel friends.
It is truly difficult for me to say who has done me more good
and who has done me more evil in the world: friends or
enemies.
Therefore bless, O Lord, both my friends and my enemies.
A slave curses enemies, for he does not understand.
But a son blesses them, for he understands. For a son
knows that his enemies cannot touch his life. Therefore he
freely steps among them and prays to God for them.
Bless my enemies, O Lord. Even I bless them and do not
curse them.
Amen
' Skip Manila and go to the south instead'
ha ha ha, I love it!
This is what I would say to foreigners wanting to travel to Philippines:
"Go visit the provinces, outside of the cities, have to visit Bohol and Cebu. Don't be afraid to ride the Jeepneys and the pedicabs! If you visit Visayas say to the beautiful women, "Hoy kamusta man ka, gwapitang baji!" he he he!
The Filipino people are one of the nicest, warmest, and accepting people in the world! Have a great time! Enjoy! And dont forget to take pictures~!"
