Here is another favorite, actually, from the Songs.

Song of Solomon 8:7
Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away. If one were to give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned.

Here is one beautiful passage from Proverbs:

Proverbs 30:18-19
There are three things that amaze meâ€"
no, four things that I don’t understand:
how an eagle glides through the sky,
how a snake slithers on a rock,
how a ship navigates the ocean,
how a man loves a woman.

Have you wondered what the Bible says about love? Any specific queries on it?
Let's discuss it here.

Thats good that the Canadian government is doing that!

Ako ning donate ko sa red cross, ug prayers pood para sa mga tawo didto.

I read that there were estimated 75k+ dead in Haiti, but due to the shear amount of aid coming in and volunteers, a sense of normalcy has taken effect.

I have friends who are medical residents who enlisted in the Doctors without Borders who are there right now.
How I wish I could do that too. IMHO, this is a service of a lifetime.

Forward!

Another question for those say they "accept" homosexuality: kanang inyong pag accept sa mga homosexuals (practicing akong pasabot ani) or gay (incl. gay marriage) ... have you REALLY and TRULY accepted them in every aspect of the word? O gusto ba lang ninyo nga e-recognize sila sa society? But would you take them personally in your homes, ask them to be ninongs or ninangs of your children, or molohod sa inyong kasal or what-have-you, baby-sitter sa inyong mga anak, etc? Would you in some intimate way invite them to partake in your family life, etc? Or basin pod ang inyong attitude is, "Ok ra sila e-recognize, but I don't want to have anything to do with them?" Hmmmm. You don't have to answer any of these, but it sure doesn't hurt to ask ourselves these questions.

I have friends who are straight, and gays. Dili ko prejudiced sa mga b***t in their individuality, pero against ko sa ang act sa homosexuality. I respect them as human beings, with mind, feeling, and some..with faith. I have a friend who is gay and he is very active bitaw in church; tho he is not catholic, he is baptist.

We had this question in an bible study class; "Is Homosexuality a sin?"

He himself answered the question when it was his turn to give his point and give a scriptural verse; his reference to Leviticus was poignant. And at the end of his turn, he admitted to us that he himself is gay and aware of his sinful nature. We did a prayer for healing for him. When asked about gay marriages, he was against it.

It is quite interesting because for him, he is ashamed of being gay. And for him, a source of strength to battle it was turning to the bible and finding strength in Jesus Christ who is Lord.

Very good individual. I do pray for him...

Bitaw, whether motoo ta nga binuhat tas Ginoo or dili, is really irrelevant for many here. For some of us who do believe, it's not because we're that bright to claim we know everything (or that much) except that we have a religion or system of beliefs we espoused as wisdom and guide to "right living". Dautan ba diay kung mosunod lang ang tawo sa iyang gitoohan? Like some of us clarified here, we have the freedom of choice how to live our lives: pwede ka mag hinawod, pwede magbinayot o pwede pod magbinuotan. It's your life, after all. Live it as you please!!! If some here contend homosexuality as wrong, it's because they're seeing it from their own perspective or religious upbringing (ayaw lang god mo kasuko). If you think homosexuality (just being gay) is not sinful, then so be it. Imo sad nang pagtoo. Wa joy mopogos nimo. Di man lang practice of homosexuality is condemned by the Catholic Chuurch as sinful, hasta man pod heterosexual relationship that is outside of marriage og kanang nagduwa-duwa sa relasyon nga "fragile" kaau. It's also a matter of justice, you know... kanang magpahimos sa mga vulnerable (lumay ug mga kasing-kasing). ALSO, Di naman pod siguro kinahanglan "mangigo" ta (below the belt)... nga maski ang mga servants sa Simbahan, dagko usab ug sala. The Church for centuries knew that and admitted that; we preach that every Sunday. Parents preached that to their kids. Kay naa ba diay di makasasala aning kalibutana? Klaro mana sa Bibliya. Coz if you claim you're one (sinless), either you're a liar or to you I'd say, "pag sure oi!!!" (LoL). Makasasa bitaw ta tanan. Di naman na angay istoryahan pa. Discussions here are basically battles of the minds (sometimes of prides, kung kinsay bright), perspectives, beliefs (kuno, as if we're broad or open-minded) or just plain arguing for the sake of one. Ang mo-surrender, aw.... but I urge everyone to stand by their beliefs... and live them!!! For that I will respect that person, the same way as I always admired atheists or agnostics for being so brave/fearless in not believing in a God. I wish isog pod ko like them... but am I really that different from them?

Fr, tinuud bitaw ang gi ingon nimo. Sa historidad sa Church, naay church members nga nag sala pero ang Church itself has been blameless, for it has preached the Truth and has spread the Holy Gospel unto the peoples under pain of death and opposition. Since the days that the Church hid from Roman persecution till the present age.

As for your last statement, hehehe, isog man pood ka Fr., isog ka kai you had the guts to answer HIS call when others who were called did not have the strength to answer it. So ako mo salute nimo. Ang mga tawo nga naay justification in Jesus Christ's Gospel of Truth, there is nothing an opposition can do to hinder the message of the Gospel. For it is said that "Greater is HE who is in you than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4)
Brave ka kai naay faith, anyone who has faith and chooses to see what the eyes cannot see but sees what the spirit and the soul sees is justified in Christ's promise than there will be life after this one.

For those who continue to let their sin rule their lives, and who reject a God, then as it is said, they shall be sifted like weeds. And be cast into the lake of fire in the time of judgement.

REPENT AND BE SAVED.

You've said it: God designed everything in order, and according to HIS purpose.

WOuldn't that mean that the existence of gay community is part of God's plan, and has its own purpose and role in this world? If you truly believe in your God and trust everything that he did and does, then why are you questioning about the existence of homosexuals, scrutinize them and their worth?

It is just us people who are very sensitive to the "divine" law that we thought we were able to fathom. Everything and everyone that exist in this world are God's creation. Would you argue that statement? Now, why gays exist? Is it a matter of men's choice to be gay?  If you challenge the fact that gays exist, then you are implying that some of God's creations are flawed.

And I don't even believe in saints and devils. It is just us people who create those terms, do evil things and good deeds, and assessing ourselves by our own foolishness that such words really exist. And I think the word devil came into being to refer to those people who choose to defy the voice of the society. They're just being brave and courageous, but people call them evil.

Everyone is created. You were created because your mother and father bore you, and delivered you into this world.
The Lord your God loved you so much that He gave you the freedom of choice. You live your life because you have decided to live it according to your own desires, your own choosing. It is up to the individual to abide by the Word of God or not. In the end, you shall be judged. There is no changing or altering that.

The Lord your God said, "I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live."
Deuteronomy 30:19:

And what begets death? We are told that the wage of sin is death.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23

God Bless!

Man is born into the world, and perishes like all created things. He shall perish like the grass withers in winter.

However, The Lord Our God's Eternal Living Word lasts from Eternity to Eternity. Unshakable.

For all things were created for Him and with Him. And the Eternal Living Word is Jesus Christ.

Added to this,

1 Peter 1: 22-25

Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart. For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. For, "All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall but the word of the Lord stands forever." And this is the word that was preached to you.

LGU Philippines / Re: Filipino Diaspora
January 24, 2010, 07:51:44 PM
By the time Spain successfully established la Villa de San Miguel in 1565, it had been experimenting with various ways
of colonizing people for almost half a century in Mexico, so it was able to transplant what “worked” for them in Mexico,
and to revise strategies for enterprises they thought could have gone better. Accordingly, one of Spain’s first priorities in
the Philippines was “pacifying” the indios, through armed force, but especially via religion, in ways similar and dissimilar
to how the early missionaries had operated in Nueva España. The Spanish felt that use of religion and culture to “mould the natives in the Hispanic image” was particularly important in las Filipinas, because, unlike in Mexico, they had not inherited a unified state in the Philippines, but rather, “fragmented units of islands and islets of various sizes separated by numberless bodies of water.”

The relationship between the Philippines and Mexico began with almost a cosmic coincidence nearly 500 years ago. In March 1521, Ferdinand Magellan “discovered” a group of unrelated islands in the western Pacific, which would later be named and claimed Las Filipinas, for King Felipe II of Spain.

With the subjugation of the Filipino idios by the Spaniards, the establishment of the Imperial Audencia, the establishment of central control in Manila and the divisioning of power regional gobernadorcilos, the Philippines was then integrated as an overseas territory of the Viceroyalty of Nueva Espana. This political, religious and economic relationship led to almost 300 years of uninterrupted trade between Manila and Nueva Espana in the Accapulco Galleon Trade.

Filipinos were employed in the galleon trade, and many Filipino sailors and workers did end up settling in Mexico, and other territories that were part of the Spanish Empire in the New World. Many Filipinos even immigrated to Spain. Marrying into the local population.

Filipino Diaspora begain much earlier, actually, it started in the 16th century, and would reach a climax in the pre-revolutionary epoch when Spain liberalized Philippine's ports to international trade.

LGU Philippines / Re: Filipino Diaspora
January 24, 2010, 06:35:21 PM
Actually, the beginning of Filipino Diaspora began in the late 19th century when Spain began liberalizing the Philippines, and would continue during the change of hands in the transitory period when the United States took control of the former Spanish bastion in the Orient.

The United States imported Filipino migratory workers to work in the plantations of Hawaii, California, and in the shipping industries. The first Filipino immigratory wave to the United States occurred in the early 20th century, leading to thousands of Filipinos settling into western states in the United States. This number would continue to rise especially during the Marcos Period, since Marcos was a proponent of Filipino overseas program. His infrastructural projects lead to the graduation of Filipino Technocrats and their immigration abroad to appease not only national need for capital, but to also appease international demand for skilled workers.

Since then, the number of Filipinos abroad have risen immensely. There are over 10 Million Filipinos abroad; this does not include the ~3 Million Filipino-Americans, and does not count the millions of Americans with Filipino ancestry. Not to mention the millions of Filipinos in the Middle East, Europe etc.

There are over 95 million Filipinos in the Philippines.
In my opinion, thank God for the immigration to abroad. If not for this, then there would be 10+ million more Filipinos in the already overcrowded Philippines.

Economics drives everything. History has already made that clear. :)

tungod ba kay ang ilang gipangayo is a force-to-be-reckoned threat to the long-formed and long-guarded core of the society and culture? sometimes changes in the flow of things can open our eyes to the endless possibilities that would have been forever missed otherwise.

yes, there are certain mandates and orders from the society and its culture that same sex marriage would have trouble getting into, like the procreation and the very concept of marriage. even these are not an absolute hindrance to the argument of pro-same-sex marriage. in fact, they get the nod in other countries.

it is definitely right that human respect is only what it needs to bring this kind of union into position just as hetero unions have had. but institution of marriage as i've understood does not arise on social acceptance alone, which includes respecting their individuality, rights and decision; also, it stems from the natural order of creation - male & female; penis & vagina; semen & sperm; day & night; life & death. this is the natural law from which the "right"-ness of hetero-marriage has been founded. hence, our society may accept and allow SSM, but that doesn't follow that it makes it RIGHT by the dictate of our nature. suffice it to say why our religious brothers and sisters are adamant against the SSM insistence to call their union "marriage" because they don't look at it RIGHT, precisely because it's against Nature, and they ascribe Nature as part of God's plan, His Creation. This is where faith comes into play. (ug tingali moingon na pod si MBD ani, F***B*** that faith!! hahahaha)

sa ako lang, ako lang ni, the loophole of the argument to respect their rights and privileges in our society is that it is based mainly on political and humanistic intervention and influence, which they have obtained in other societies but not yet in the Philippines. It's a strong argument but not strong enough, which leads me to say KUNG mao man galing na nga respetohay man kaha ta, ngano mang di man ko tugotan mangasawa sa akong silingan nga dalaga na pero 10 anyos pa. o nga makapangasawa sa akong TUKOY nga mas bootan pa sa ubang TAWO nga asawa. ingnon man kaha ko nila nga "nabuang na ka", "gibaliw man tingali ka", pero di ba ingon man tingali nang gugma? hahahha.

If I may add, Glacier, there are members in the medical/scientific community that view consider homosexuality not only an abnormality, but the enemy to species procreation. Heterosexual marriage follow natural as well as divine law. Why? Simple, the union between two lead to offspring, which in essence lead to the continuation of the genetic line that the parents come from. Thereby ensuring genetic immortality, which is guaranteed and observed in the health and procreation of offspring. Homosexual union and marriage (to them might be a 'personal right'), is deviation in that it is the act of going against the natural order.

I have had conversations with other geneticists regarding this issue and one added (let me paraphrase his view):
"If we look at homosexuality beyond the moral window, and more so in the biological phenomenon, we will notice that its proliferation is probably nature's way of deviation hormonal regulatory pathways in certain male and female subgroups to check assymetrical human population growth. Human beings are apex predators and, thus, have no competitory species, and if we follow the Malthusian Theoretical Concept, if there is an unchecked assymetrical growth in one predatory species and a linear growth resources, then there will be a point in time in which the assymetric growth of the predatory species will overtake said resources, which would lead to a sharp decline in population. We know that nature prevents a total populatory decline by introducing viral outbreaks, bacterial outbreaks and natural disasters to limit the predatory species, thereby giving time to the resource population to recoup. Homosexuality, in essence, is a deviation of hormonal and reproductory establishments, but the proliferation of homosexuality could be seen as nature's way in reducing unchecked human population growth trends. Since homosexual individuals cannot reproduce according to their lifestyles, their threat to the natural order is limited, since they have accepted a self-genetic ban; denying their genetic longevity by denying the acquisition of offspring in the natural order."

that's true, WarWick, everybody deserves happiness.

too bad, our society is not as simple as it is, where we can just go in and ask what we want or need because we deserve it. like, "i love you, will you marry me?" and there, in split seconds, you have it. for even in the simplest of relationships, acceptance demands time and has to take lots of arguing, making up and letting go. human beings don't grow like other animals. it takes us weeks before we start to walk, and months to talk, years to understand and centuries to form a nation.

however we see this country, the introduction of something not inherent to the culture and norms of this people formed by centuries of religion, conflicts, adaptations, struggles and faith is simply presumptuous. some people should realize we're still a fundamentally heterosexually-oriented community. if this people has to stand against same-sex marriage, it is not to disrespect their orientations as gays and lesbians, or to treat them as disease of the society. it is for me to protect the long-held traditions and institutions of the people, which has been a seminal to their being. i guess this side is where respect should start and not from the other side.

for me it will come. only time can tell. this move should first prove itself as empowering rather than divisive to the fabric of our society. it needs more than education, it needs trust in each other. it should not just point to the vision of happiness; it should also point to the future of mankind and of our future children. good night!

Glacier, let me also add something into perspective that you lightly touched upon. You mentioned about the problems in introducing a foreign concept to a particular conservative society, namely referring to the Philippines in this regard. We have to consider that the conservative aspect bases its stance on natural law and the natural processes; the standard norm. Homosexuality, in this sense, is a deviation of natural law, and is the antithesis of the natural processes.

I will use an analogy: the muscle contractility phenomenon. Actin and Myosin heads will bond, allowing contraction and then release, which is powered by ATP breakdown (adenosine tri-phosphate). Two different muscle bands are required to fulfill this movement. There is no actin-actin movement, or a myosin-myosin movement. No! There is only actin-myosin.

The same as the human fertilization phenomenon in Embryology. The female egg, which carries an XX set of genetic codes will be fertilized by a male sperm, which carries a genetic codet of XY. An egg cannot be fertilized by an egg, nor can a sperm fertilize a sperm. The latter examples are deviations and improper natural processes that will result in a nill of species offspring procreation and thereby lead in pan-analysis: the degradation and obliteration of an entire species due to failed embryological synthesis in development.

A man, which is a sentient being composed of organ systems, which in itself is composed of organs, which in itself is composed of tissues, which in itself is composed of cells are governed by Natural order. Each cell is composed of micrological organelles, which in turn are composed of ordered ions, which are in turn composed of atoms, which follow an ordered law of positive and negatives. Opposites attract. Negative and positive will attract; and similar charged atoms will repel. Two positives will repel; same as two negatives will repel.

If an atom, which is positive will attract a positive then, this would lead to the disruption and the collapse in the entire organization of all life systems and matter in the entire universe. And to follow the laws of quantum physics and atomic physics it is LAW that two positives will not attract, nor will two negatives attract. Everything is ordered; in the natural world as well as in the universe that this planet is but a minute speck and integral member of.

May I also add that there is no such thing as third gender. The continuum of God's Earth has transcribed itself through natural procreative measures. One being XX genetic based (female) or XY genetic based (male).
There can only be 2 sexes, which is responsible for categorization of 'gender'. Throughout God's green earth, male will mate with female to give forth offspring.

It is only man in his need to make sense of things that we have a socially accepted use of the term 'third gender' to give the term gay/homosexual/lesbian/transexual a more 'political correct' term. The position society is placed here is an example of the quintesential fork in the road. Members in society decide have the freedom to decide where they stand in this issue. Again, there is man's law, but there is a greater Divine Law.

Think about it that way.

There is an ordered way of things.

God designed everything in order, and according to HIS purpose.

Man, is the only living social animal that has the ability to lie and to deceive himself from accepting TRUTH.
Man has the ability to twist a lie to sound like truth. Again, an effect of the devil's presence in this world.

That said. The Truth will set you free!

Let me ask you something people (at least the proponents of gay marriage). Why wouldn't proponents of pet lovers ALSO propose to the powers-that-be that they also legalize marrying their pets (e.g. dogs or cats) because many of them, too, can claim it's beyond sex and erotism? Why can't these people claim "human respect" as the underlying reason? Or use that argument that says "why would a heterosexual would want to marry one from the opposite number?" Why not?

Why would your answer be NO? Is it because we can sense something wrong in what I'm proposing? Is it really wrong? Think about it? Animals are just as good (esp. dogs and cats) as many humanoids (hahaha).

Or is it because it just so happen that it's not YET what we (as a society) consider at this point in our civilization as RIGHT? Meaning, it's not a matter or question of "human respect" or what-have-you but a matter of right or wrong. As far as I know, being gay or having gay relationships (worse yet, gay marriage) is not yet ackowledged as something right... at this point at least. Besides the Bible (and for a moment here just forget the Bible) NONE of this world's societies (maybe a few cities like San Francisco, etc) have acknowledged yet that a gay relationship is something normal or right much as they haven't recognize or shall ever legitimized/legalized a marriage between pet owners and pets... for reasons so obvious.

I have lots of friends who are gays and I respect them and enjoy their company... but I have also a religion (you don't have to belong to the one I am part of, you know) that I espoused , respect and follow to the best of my ability and we have what we call a BIBLE, a book we simply believe (without others to theologize it) as inspired by God that serves as guide to right and proper living. That what I hope people would respect us for... when we simply stand by what we believe as right and proper. If you believe or would like to live your life otherwise, I think the the world is big enough for all of us... you can always find your niche somewhere. And good luck to you on that!

Pero sa pagka karon - when our knowledge and understanding are as imperfect as we are - morag subidaon pa jud nang inyong ge propose nga gay marriage, even if most people already give respect to the gays and even enjoy their presence amongst us. I hope they have already passed the stage nga mahibaw-an sa ilang mga amahan kay aron di unja makulatahan (that's the joke part in this). If there's any consolation, you're always welcomed in my world and circle and laugh it all!!!

Excellent post, again, Fr.

Mao nay giingon Raq "if there's a will, there's a way." Fight for what you believe is your right. Sigon ra na sa lalis. Priests are only human and needless to say, imperfect. Sometimes bookish, sometimes stretchably liberal. At times pastoral, at times pod have a mean streak in them like everybody else, hahaha. Sakto ila gibuhat sa imong silingan, Raq, nga gibiyaan ang lungon sa sulod simbahan. Naa baya na sa bibliya. See Luke 11: 5 ff - The Parable Of a Persistent Friend:

And he said to them, “Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves;  6 for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him’;  7 and he will answer from within and say, ‘Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you’?  8 I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs.

9 “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.  10 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

I won't repeat everything here kay taas na ug libog pa jud. Sa tinuod wa sad ko makasabot ngano gibalibaran o guidili pagsud sa simbahan ang maong kaila/amigo ni David, tungod ba lang kay di kasado sa simbahan. Was there a deeper reason? Like, public rejection of the faith? Or personalan ra ba to sa Kura Paroko? Deri sa amo simbahan maski makasasala o gikan sa laing religion dawaton man ug hatagan ug decent funeral service if they request so. The only one (reason) I know dunay negative provision is one nga miembro sa Mason, kay duna na silay sariling funeral arrangement outside the Catholic Church nga medyo wa mouyon ang simbahan hehehe. Fr, naay question si David regarding burial kono because he had a friend who died in an accident, however, he and his partner were not married. There was an incident concerning his burial in a Catholic Cemetery.
Do you the specifics regarding any limitations to the provisions of a catholic burial?

Walay contradiction sa Catholic Church sa other christian denomination groups. Ang Simbahang Katoliko is the primo, the original, bro. Wala yamo before us. Established ang Simbahang Katoliko sa lawas ni Hesu Kristo didto sa Cross.
Gi ingnan ang first santo papa, si Peter, "Not even the gates of hell shall overpower the church."

Bisan nag guera ang protestante sa mga katoliko, wa jud nga guba ang Simbahang Katoliko kai established man ni siya, ang HOLY MOTHER CHURCH, in sanctified by Grace of Jesus Christ. It is infallable.

So, it is correct to say that other christian denominations contradict the Catholic Church's Teachings.

Actually, your ignorance in biblical historiography is apparent. It was the Holy Roman Catholic Church and the Early Church Fathers that authored and compiled the Holy Bible, with Divine Guidance from the Holy Spirit. All books that are considered canon books are included in the Catholic Holy Bible, the original bible.

The protestant, Martin Luther, removed 7 canon books that supported the Catholic teaching of Scriptural Doctrine and Sacred Tradition transpired and ushered in Divine Truth. Whereas Martin Luther proposed the concept of Sola Scriptura, which noted that Biblical Doctrine alone was necessary. The 7 books that Martin Luther removed included: Tobit, Judith, 1 Maccabees, 2 Maccabees, Wisdom, Sirach, Baruc as well as parts of Esther and parts of Daniel.

Authority comes in the original work, which was prepared by the Catholic Church. Without the Catholic Church, there would be no Bible, to which, even Martin Luther, himself, admits:

"We are obliged to yield many things to the Catholics – , that they possess the Word of God, which we received from them; otherwise, we should have known nothing at all about it."
---Martin Luther, Commentary on John, Chap 16.

hahahahaha... naa sad ni sa inyong bibliya???

Absolutely.

See 2 Maccabees Chapter 12

39
On the following day, since the task had now become urgent, Judas and his men went to gather up the bodies of the slain and bury them with their kinsmen in their ancestral tombs.
40
But under the tunic of each of the dead they found amulets sacred to the idols of Jamnia, which the law forbids the Jews to wear. So it was clear to all that this was why these men had been slain.
41
They all therefore praised the ways of the Lord, the just judge who brings to light the things that are hidden.
42
7 Turning to supplication, they prayed that the sinful deed might be fully blotted out. The noble Judas warned the soldiers to keep themselves free from sin, for they had seen with their own eyes what had happened because of the sin of those who had fallen.
43
He then took up a collection among all his soldiers, amounting to two thousand silver drachmas, which he sent to Jerusalem to provide for an expiatory sacrifice. In doing this he acted in a very excellent and noble way, inasmuch as he had the resurrection of the dead in view;
44
for if he were not expecting the fallen to rise again, it would have been useless and foolish to pray for them in death.
45
But if he did this with a view to the splendid reward that awaits those who had gone to rest in godliness, it was a holy and pious thought.
46
Thus he made atonement for the dead that they might be freed from this sin.

I see a large discrepancy with your inference: your personal anecdote, David.
Namely because you said that your friend who died in an accident was denied a Catholic Burial Mass by a parish priest because your friend was not married. That does not make any sense since you said your friend was a Catholic.
Was your friend a new convert to the Catholic Church but did not have papers to signify that he finished the 3-step process of converting into the Catholic Faith: namely 1) Baptism by water and faith 2) Holy Eucharistic Rite 3) Holy Confirmation.

If your friend did not, then he or she would not be recognized as Catholic, and I can understand the Church's point of view.

Perhaps Fr. Lungay can provide us a clearer answer to this query. I admit I am intrigued to hear his response.

David, your question is outside the phrame of this topic, but a good question nonetheless.
It would be best to address this question to a parish priest or member of the clergy.

that's true, WarWick, everybody deserves happiness.

too bad, our society is not as simple as it is, where we can just go in and ask what we want or need because we deserve it. like, "i love you, will you marry me?" and there, in split seconds, you have it. for even in the simplest of relationships, acceptance demands time and has to take lots of arguing, making up and letting go. human beings don't grow like other animals. it takes us weeks before we start to walk, and months to talk, years to understand and centuries to form a nation.

however we see this country, the introduction of something not inherent to the culture and norms of this people formed by centuries of religion, conflicts, adaptations, struggles and faith is simply presumptuous. some people should realize we're still a fundamentally heterosexually-oriented community. if this people has to stand against same-sex marriage, it is not to disrespect their orientations as gays and lesbians, or to treat them as disease of the society. it is for me to protect the long-held traditions and institutions of the people, which has been a seminal to their being. i guess this side is where respect should start and not from the other side.

for me it will come. only time can tell. this move should first prove itself as empowering rather than divisive to the fabric of our society. it needs more than education, it needs trust in each other. it should not just point to the vision of happiness; it should also point to the future of mankind and of our future children.

Think about it that way.

There is an ordered way of things.

God designed everything in order, and according to HIS purpose.

:)

Man, is the only living social animal that has the ability to lie and to deceive himself from accepting TRUTH.
Man has the ability to twist a lie to sound like truth. Again, an effect of the devil's presence in this world.

That said. The Truth will set you free!

Added to what was stated above;

Third, “gay marriage,” as the ultimate legal sanctioning of homosexual behavior, will bring with it a wave of intolerance toward, and attack on the civil liberties of, those who publicly express disapproval of homosexual practice (see Alan Sears and Craig Osten, The Homosexual Agenda). The latter will be regarded, legally and morally, as the equivalent of virulent racists. In the civil sphere, they will see their, and their children’s, educational opportunities, gainful employment, and even freedom from incarceration put at increasing risk. Christian colleges and seminaries will risk losing their tax-exempt status, access to federal grants and student loans, and ultimately accreditation itself. Public schools will intensify their indoctrination of children into the acceptability of homosexual unions and single out for ridicule any who question this agendaâ€"from kindergarten on. Parents’ rights in instilling moral values in their children will be abridged. Indeed, the state could remove self-professed gay and lesbian children from parents who express moral disapproval of homosexual practice on the pretense of “child abuse.” Mainline denominations will comply with societal trends by refusing to ordain “heterosexists” and disciplining heterosexist clergy and ostracizing heterosexist members. Since approval of homosexual practice can only occur at the cost of marginalizing Scripture, the trend will be toward a hard-left radicalization of mainline denominations.

#33657

First, legal and ecclesiastical embrace of homosexual unions is more likely to undermine the institution of marriage and produce other negative effects than it is to make fidelity and longevity the norm for homosexual unions. We will come back to this later.

Second, and even more importantly, homosexual unions are not wrong primarily because of their disproportionately high incidence of promiscuity (especially among males) and breakups (especially among females). They are wrong because “gay marriage” is a contradiction in terms. As with consensual adult incest and polyamory, considerations of commitment and fidelity factor only after certain structural prerequisites are met.

The vision of marriage found in the Jewish and Christian Scriptures is one of reuniting male and female into an integrated sexual whole. Marriage is not just about more intimacy and sharing one’s life with another in a lifelong partnership. It is about sexual mergerâ€"or, in Scripture’s understanding, re-mergerâ€"of essential maleness and femaleness.

The creation story in Genesis 2:18-24 illustrates this point beautifully. An originally binary, or sexually undifferentiated, adam (“earthling”) is split down the “side” (a better translation of Hebrew tsela than “rib”) to form two sexually differentiated persons. Marriage is pictured as the reunion of the two constituent parts or “other halves,” man and woman.

This is not an optional or minor feature of the story. Since the only difference created by the splitting is a differentiation into two distinct sexes, the only way to reconstitute the sexual whole, on the level of erotic intimacy, is to bring together the split parts. A same-sex erotic relationship can never constitute a marriage because it will always lack the requisite sexual counterparts or complements.

By definition homosexual desire is sexual narcissism or sexual self-deception. There is either (1) a conscious recognition that one desires in another what one already is and has as a sexual being (anatomy, physiology, sex-based traits) or (2) a self-delusion of sorts in which the sexual same is perceived as some kind of sexual other. As one ancient text puts it, “seeing themselves in one another they were ashamed neither of what they were doing nor of what they were having done to them” (Pseudo-Lucian, Affairs of the Heart 20). The modern word “homosexual”â€"from the Greek homoios, “like” or “same”â€"underscores this self-evident desire for the essential sexual self shared in common with one’s partner.

I am not talking merely about what some prohomosex advocates derisively refer to as an “obsession with plumbing.” I am talking about a fundamental recognition of something holistic, an essential maleness and an essential femaleness. Why else would 99% of all persons in the United States (97% heterosexual, 2% homosexual) limit their selection of mates to persons of a particular sex? Why else do so many “gays” claim exclusive attraction for persons of the same sex rather than, say, gender nonconforming persons of the other sex? All this indicates a basic societal admission that there is an essential and holistic maleness and femaleness that transcend mere social constructs.

In this connection, too, it is interesting that homosexual men, even those who bear effeminate traits, usually desire very “masculine” men as their sex partners. Why? Undoubtedly many desire what they see as lacking in themselves: a strong masculine quality. Such a desire is really a form of self-delusion. They are already men, already masculine. They are masculine by virtue of their sex, not by virtue of possessing a social construct of masculinity that may or may not reflect true masculinity. They need not seek completion in a sexual same. Rather, they must come to terms with their essential masculinity.

In sum, why is “gay marriage” wrong? Most importantly, the idea of “gay marriage” is an oxymoron and a rejection of a core value in Judeo-Christian sexual ethics. Marriage requires the two sexes to reconstitute a sexual whole. By definition same-sex erotic attraction is predicated either on the narcissism of being attracted to what one is as a sexual being or on the delusion that one needs to merge with another of the same sex to complete one’s own sexual deficiencies. Arguing that we should grant marriage status to homosexually inclined persons to avert promiscuity is like insisting that we grant marriage status to adult incestuous or polygamous unions to promote relational longevity. It doesn’t address the main problem with this particular kind of sexual immorality.

But “gay marriage” is also wrong because it will more likely weaken the institution of marriage than moderate the typical excesses of homosexual behavior. The dominant rhetoric of “gay marriage” severs marriage from childbearing and, not surprisingly, leads to more out-of-wedlock births in the population as a whole. The fact that relatively few homosexual couples will get married precludes from the outset any major positive impact on homosexual behavior. Those that do get married will still experience extraordinarily high rates of outside sex partners and divorce, owing to the absence of complementary male-female dynamics. The result will be a further devaluation of monogamy and permanence for the institution of marriage.

Finally, “gay marriage” will bring about the ultimate demise of structural prerequisites for marriage (for example, as regards “plural unions” and adult incest) by making affection the ultimate trump card; increase the incidence of bisexuality and homosexuality in the population and thereby expose more young persons to their negative side-effects for health; and lead to the radical abridgement of the civil and religious liberties of our children, to the point of prosecuting any public expressions of misgivings regarding the active promotion of homosexual practice.

no one can tell at present the accuracy of the bible...we were not born yesterday but the bible is the living proof of yesterday, that's what the church says...
but on my side,it doesn't matter to me how accurate the bible is...basta it serves as my guide to live a righteous life...just imagine how living life could be without the bible?without the church?

homosexuals are not to blame to what they have become...even science cannot exactly explain why there are gays and lesbians when there should only be straight man and woman...science says it could be due to some factors such as the kind of environment they are living or could be genetics...

pero para sa ako, nganong maglalis pa man ta ani?
enough na man siguro nga nadawat na nato ang ilang pagkasila ug nga girespeto na sila sa katilingban...lisud ipamugos ang unisex marriage coz it would become a war between the church and the homosexual community...dugang-dugang sa kagubot sa kalibutan oi!

pasabta ra gud ko, unsa man rason ani nga mga gays ba nganong gusto nilang makasal sad sila?

wa pa na ang inyong gitawag ug Holy Roman Catholic Church sa birth sa church...

God is even questionable!

To add to that statement, Jas4, even before the Holy Church was established during Pentecost, the Jewish Priests and the Prophets who walked the earth before the WORD MADE FLESH came to the world also preached the sins of homosexuality and its abomination before the Eyes of God.

God hated it so much that he incinerated Sodom and Gomorrha with his Divine Fury.

The Talmud, the basis of the Old Testament, ushers the same message with Church Doctrine regarding this issue.

And to correct you, NO. God is not questionable.

The one who dared to question god was the devil. He was denounced and cast out of heaven.

#33660
No one is questioning your right to respect individuals who you term as 'third gender'.

God made man and woman, nganong naay b***t/tomboy? God knows what is in our hearts.
I highly respect these third gender, they should be a normal part of our society, my opinion.

No one is judging, we are reiterating the Word of God. God is the Final Judge.
Additionally, God is the creator of all things, the creation of man and woman. However He is not responsible for one's personal choices, these follow strictly to man's own free will.

It is simple Truth that is found in Scriptural Doctrine. One that the Holy Roman Catholic Church has been preaching since the birth of the Church.

Agreed, I may understand why individuals call each other 'bro' or 'sis' as brothers or sisters in Christ.

But Jesus Christ, who is true God and true Man is not a bro, but our Lord and Savior.

A 'brother' refers to someone equal to you. We are not equal to Christ. As Christ who is the Eternal Living Word is GOD and is therefore supremely higher than you or I or any other being that walks the earth.

John 13:12-17
When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. "Do you understand what I have done for you?" he asked them. We are not hating our brothers and sisters who are stricken with this lifestyle that is an ABOMINATION before God.
We are posting and warning because of our LOVE for them as GOD loves them. We preach and send a message because we want them to be saved, and to correct a wrong.

God wishes all to be saved, it is up to the individual to accept salvation in Jesus Christ and adheres to His Covenant. Or continue with a lifestyle that will send them to the eternal pyre in Hell.

The Sexual Sin no one ever discusses - Masturbation - Pleasing Self Sexually.

Matthew 5:27, "You have heard that it was said to those of old, `You shall not commit adultery.' 28, "But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

What is Jesus saying here in Matthew chapter 5? First of all, the Lord is telling us that the act of Adultery and the act of thinking about adultery are on an equal plain of sinfulness from God's perspective. As Christians, we need to be careful not to do what the world does, that is to view sin from man's perspective. Unsaved man says: "living together unmarried is all right, having children out of wed-lock is all right, having sex outside of marriage is all right and pleasing yourself sexually is all right!" BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT GOD SAYS !
What does masturbation or sexually pleasing your self have to do with Matthew 5:28? Plenty! Jesus is saying to us that the act or the thought of adultery are both sinful. The moment a man or a woman begins to focus on pleasing themselves sexually, they're oppening their mind up to lusting in the mind, which is sinful.
The Bible only provides for sexual satisfaction and fulfillment in the marriage relationship, PERIOD!
1Corinthians 7:2, "Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband."
The Greek word that translates "sexual immorality" is "porneia", from which we get our English word, "pornography". Pornography entices people to think, to look and to please self. This is just what Jesus was saying NOT to do in Matthew 5:28. "Porneia" does not require a picture on paper or a computer screen. "Porneia", sexual immorality can be a picture in your mind. Here lies one of the biggest problems with masturbation. You're setting yourself up to think about or imagine a sexual partner. This is nothing but fornication of the mind, adultery of the mind and immorality of the mind! All of which is Sin before God.
Ponder the following Bible passage in the light or what we think about and what we should think about:
Philippians 4:8, "Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy, meditate on these things."
It's quite clear that pleasing yourself sexually would violate the teaching we find in Philippians 4:8, 1 Corinthians 7:2, Matthew 5:28 and a host of other passages in God's Word.
The apostle Peter describes the wicked as "Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children" 2Pe 2:14. If you're a Christian, your heart and mind should not be full of adultery, but rather your heart should be full of pure things and God honoring things.
Job, in the Old Testament, gives us some godly advice:
Job 31:1 "I have made a covenant with my eyes; Why then should I look upon a young woman?"
He made a vow with his heart and with his eyes not to look were he should not, not to look upon women to lust. We need to do the same wheather you're a young man or young women. Determine not to let your mind go where the Lord never intended it to go. In God's power, you can win the battle of the mind!
Christians need to understand that God gave the sexual relationship in order for one spouse to please their partner. The focus is not on pleasing self, but rather on pleasing your spouse! Consider the following passage of Scripture:
1 Cor. 7:3, Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband. 4, The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. 5, Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
In the 1 Cor. 7 passage, you see no mention of pleasing self sexually, but rather, the spouse's responsibility is towards the other marriage partner. Masturbation goes against this biblical teaching of meeting the others need. Pleasing yourself sexually sets you up to have a self-serving mind set in marriage and this will only lead to problems in the marriage. Be forewarned, young people, what you do now could be setting up a habbit that will hinder your marriage in the future.

I know its natural and human pero ang pagbuhat sa ingon wala ni gi exempted sa Ginoo nga dili sala.Akong pangutana is human mo nagtagbaw sa inyong kaugalingon ani wala bay bisan gamay nga guilt inyong nabati?
Ug molalis ta ug dili sala ingnon ta dili sala ang pagmasturbate pero ang nakasala kay samtang nagbuhat mo ani naghunahuna mo ug image sa babae ba ron or kinsa inyong gihunahuna so diha ni mahulog ug sala.

Yes, you have a point, Raquel. But adultery in that aspect that is being quoted is a man who is married and lusting over a woman in his mind. It is being specific. Because in the old testament, the pharisees were quoting a verse that adultery is physically sleeping with another woman while the man was married, or a woman sleeping with a married man etc.

Jesus corrects them by saying that adultery is when a married man lusts over a woman in his mind. He is therefore still guilty of adultery for he has forsaken his sacred sacramental wedding vows!

Scripture in Genesis declares that marriage is when man and woman become one before God. The act of adultery is betraying your wedding vows and cheating on your husband or wife.

This does not subscribe to a man or woman who have not yet entertained or taken the sacred wedding right or joined together and man and wife before God.

Read: Gen. 2:18, 21-24, Ephesians 5:23-32

Regarding adultery, you must define in properly in order to engage in proper biblical dialogue and study.

What is adultery?  Adultery is illicit sexual intercourse between married or unmarried persons (if a married man beds with an unmarried woman, the man is guilty of adultery, and even if the woman did not know that the man was married is still an adulter. Same applies for a married woman sleeping with an unmarried man; both parties are adulterers.)  It should be made clear, however, that the sin of adultery, as serious in God's sight. Read also 1 Corinthians Chapter 6.

OKAY!

That said, lets get back to the orig. topic.

grabe na ni, medical and biblical passages na man ni. I still  have with me a copy of the sunday publication of tagbilaran diocese which discussed the church stand on masturbation. Ingon dire nga masturbation is okey if the purpose of the one doing it is the release of anxiety and not for pleasuring ones self. I subscribed to Lorenzo's explanation, I would rather masturbate than risk my self of STD/STI.

Mao lagi, medical and biblical messages lagi. great combo ni.
Pero ug mo basa ta sa bibliya gi ingnan man ta sa Romans 3:26, "For all have fallen short before the Glory of God."
Ang meaning ani, no one is righteous before God because God alone is Righteous and Pure.

Innate na man ta ani since the fall of Adam and Eve sa Eden in the first Transgression. Pero, gi tagaan ta sa SALVATION IN JESUS CHRIST. Mao na si JESUS CHRIST is referred to as the 2ND ADAM. It was in Adam that man fell from God's Grace. And it was in CHRIST that man could receive salvation and peace with God.

According to I CORINTHIANS 6:9-11:

(1) Fornicators shall not inherit the kingdom of God. This term refers to those who engage in sexual activity which God has declared sinful. He has not declared all sexual activity. In fact, He condones and even encourages lawful sexual activity according to His design and purpose (I CORINTHIANS 7:2-4; HEBREWS 13:4). Fornication refers to sexual activity outside of the marriage relationship between a man and a woman. It would include premarital as well as extramarital sexual relationships of whatever duration from a one night stand to an ongoing affair. Such activity was rampant in first century Corinth. It is rampant today in our own society. But it matters not how commonly it is practiced, it is still unrighteous and it will keep one from entering heaven.
(2) Idolaters shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Those who offer to others what belongs unto God are idolaters. A person's idol might be a huge, grotesque image carved out of stone before which he bows. Or it might be his own desires. It is anything that a person adores more than God. Idolatry will keep one from entering heaven.
(3) Adulterers shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Adultery seems to be more specific a term than fornication. It is usually limited to sexual unfaithfulness to a marriage partner. Adultery will keep one from entering heaven.
(4) The effeminate shall not enter the kingdom of God. When we see this word, we think of a sissy. But the word goes beyond that. It refers to one who is soft, specifically, to the passive partner in a homosexual relationship. Being effeminate will keep one from entering heaven.
(5) Homosexuals shall not enter the kingdom of God. This word is used twice in the New Testament; in the text we are examining as well as I TIMOTHY 1:10. It denotes one who would take the leading role in a homosexual relationship. It is not fashionable today to suggest that such activity is unrighteous and will keep one out of the kingdom of God, but that is what the Covenant of Jesus Christ says. Practicing homosexuality will keep one from entering heaven.
(6) Thieves shall not enter the kingdom of God. There is no excuse for taking that which rightfully belongs to another. Whether its shoplifting, pilfering, short-changing or armed robbery, fraud and extortion, it is thievery. Whether the person doing the stealing is rich or poor it will still keep one from entering heaven.
(7). The covetous will not enter the kingdom of God. This has to do with having an uncontrollable desire to possess a certain thing. It motivates one into committing sin in order to satisfy greed. Coveting that which belongs to another will keep one from entering heaven.
( 8 ) Drunkards shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Children of God have no need to cloud their perspectives nor dull their senses. We must be able to think and reason clearly. Drunkenness causes one to lose focus and rationality. Those who give themselves over to intoxication will find that it keeps them from entering heaven.
(9) Revilers shall not inherit the kingdom of God. There are many to speak boldly about things that they know little about. Many men and women of God have had to endure reproach for their faith. Not even the Son of God escaped verbal abuse. But they will not have to endure it forever because there will be no revilers in heaven.
(10) Swindlers shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Seducers and smooth talkers of all kinds are included here. The religious con-man belongs to this group as well as the secular. Those who prey on others by trying to take advantage of their misfortune would also be included. Swindlers cannot take their ill-gotten goods with them when they leave this world, nor will they enter heaven.
#33674
Do you know that homosexuals will not enter heaven?

I am not lying. Scripture declares so!

REPENT!

"Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God. "
--1 Corinthians 6:9-10

REPENT!
OR BURN!

Contrary to what some folks would have you to believe, I know of very few preachers of the gospel who relish the thought of people missing heaven. "Fire and brimstone preachers" they call those who are faithful to the Scriptures and take the warnings therein seriously enough to mention them. Preachers and teachers of this sort are usually characterized as harsh and unloving. Certainly some of them are. But facts are facts and that the Word of God warns that certain types of behavior will cause people to be lost. And isn't it also possible that many of those sounding the warnings are doing so because of genuine concern for others? The liberal "do whatever you choose to do" crowd will deny it, but it is the truth.

It is in the spirit of concern and loyalty to the facts as God has caused them to be stated in His Word that this article is written. It is not intended to make anybody mad. The title suggests that not everybody is going to heaven. Already, we are being too "narrow-minded" for many people. But we shall go even further and get specific, but not any more specific than the Scriptures. So if you do not like some of the specifics, take your argument not to the source of this article, but to the source of the Scriptures upon which this article is based; our Creator.

This mortal life is fleeting and finite.
But ETERNITY is such a long, long time.

Well said.

In effect, the world we live in is ruled by the devil. How do we know this? Because there are many instances in which society in general approves of a wrong.

Brother, we know that the devil is let loose in the world. This world belongs to the devil; he is considered the god of this current world. For this world is already doomed, and only those who listen and do the precepts of the LORD JESUS CHRIST will be saved.

What does SCRIPTURE say about the devil and this world?

2 Corinthians 4:4
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

But brothers and sisters! Just because the devil rules over this world, does not mean that he has victory over us. No way! Because greater is HE that is in us that he that is in the world!

1 John 4:4
You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.

What does the LORD YOUR GOD say about marriage?

HARK! AND LISTEN TO THE LORD YOUR GOD:

Ephesians. 5:23-32
For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of his body, the church; he gave his life to be her Savior. As the church submits to Christ, so you wives must submit to your husbands in everything.
And you husbands must love your wives with the same love Christ showed the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by baptism and God's word. He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man is actually loving himself when he loves his wife. No one hates his own body but lovingly cares for it, just as Christ cares for his body, which is the church. And we are his body.

As the Scriptures say, "A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one." This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one.

Now, brothers and sisters, what does your LORD YOUR GOD say about homosexuality and the practice of homosexuality?

Leviticus 18:24, 30
"Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you. Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the Lord your God."

------------

Jesus said in John 14:15, 23-24, "If ye love me, keep my commandments. If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings."

So I would say that if you truly love Christ, you would want to do what pleases him. And as we have already read, homosexuality does not please the Lord.

And 1 John 2:4 reads, "He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him." And 1 John 1:5-6 reads, "God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth."

Christ said that you are either for Him or against Him. You cannot pick and choose the parts of the Bible that you like and then ignore the parts that don't fit your lifestyle. God will give you the strength that you need to overcome your homosexual desires, but you have to love the Lord enough to turn from that sin. You cannot have it both ways. "If we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries" (Hebrews 10:26-27). You have read the truth. Are you going to continue wilfully sinning?

To the LORD GOD be endless Honor, Glory and Majesty!
His WORD is infallible. Glory to God!

Homosexuality in general is an immoral sin, and the act and propagation of thereof is an abomination before the eyes of God.

The reason for the decadence of many western nations now is because we have deafened the ears to truth and moral correctness to satiate the liberal left's clamor for 'political correctness'. Ergo, now it is considered 'politically correct' to use the term 'gay' rather, one should use 'same sex'.

The position we are placed in as members of society, is observing the transpiration of our society, namely in the united states. Do we, sacrifice moral correctness for say secular uniformity in accordance to the wishes of the minority? Again, take in example Europe. The continent that is Europe is the sepository of Christianity in that it is in Europe that Roman Catholicism blossomed and spread Christian morality throughout the world; namely: Spanish overseas spread of christianity to the new world, as well as English and French missionary activity in its overseas colonies. We see and notice that Europe has liberalized and has already lost its Christian roots, abandoning it to satiate secularism. Europe's christian/catholic following is dwindling. It is loosing its own cultural root. An effect of uber-liberalism. :)

America, which still remains staunchly christian and conservative, as compared to liberal europe, will remain so for an indefinite time. But we have europe to look at and analyze if we continue on this liberal march.

Its about a moral wrong. Moral wrong and speaking against abomination. It is wrong, therefore do not be afraid to speak against what is wrong.

Yes, males do have nocturnal emission, but this occurs only when there is excessive amount of unreleased ejaculate in the penile urethra.

The condition called Monk Syndrome is paralleled to Prostatitis. Males need to release ejaculate at lease 5 times a week in order to prevent prostate cancer from developing long term.

This is a medical fact.

For those who masturbate at least 1-3 times a day; or engage in sex with their partner at lease 1-3 times a day, then you will have a decreased risk in developing prostate cancer as compared to an individual who does not ejaculate 5 times a week.

The term 'Monk's Syndrome' was coined because there are high levels of Catholic Monks who develop prostate cancer due to their chaste lifestyle.

High levels of Roman Catholic priests also develope this due to this chaste lifestyle, despite the liberal news media's negative portrayal of Catholic priests.

The truth speaks in contra to the liberal left's stance. :)

There is actually a medical condition called "Monk's Syndrome".

As you know, monks lead a chaste life, and many monks deny themselves sexual pleasure etc.

Many marriages, relationships fail because of lack of sex between man and woman.

A man with a woman who has a decreased sexual appetite will not be able to satiate a man with a large sexual appetite. The man, will then go outside the marriage to fill his primal hunger. As a negative effect, will lead to a crumbling marriage, and then divorce.

Sex is necessary. It is imperative for any relationship and marriage.

Its the beauty of love-making.  he he he

Not just that, Glacier, masturabation is recommended by family therapists and sex therapists in order to increase the health of a marriage/ relationship. Daily masturbation exercise increases a man's orgasm threshold, thereby allowing him to hit his partner's orgasm potential before he reaches climax.

Another excuse aron magpatuyang. Masturbation is offense against Chastity. This apply to every single person ug sa menyo sad siguro.Masturbation the deliberate stimulation of the genital organs in order to derive sexual pleasure.Masturbation is an intrinsically and gravely disordered action.

Karon naa koy pangutana ninyong mga laki hilig mag lulo di ba ug magbuhat mo ani maghunahuna man mo ug baje? Naa ba moy guilt feeling inig human or wala? I'm sure naay voice deep inside sa inyong heart nagtell murag di man siguro ni maayo or basin sa segi na ninyo balik balik ani gi murder na pud ninyo inyo konsensya.

It's not an excuse, Raquel, but a biological and NATURAL act. Human males masturbate starting in their adolescent years to prepare for sexual intercourse, which is biological predisposed, in order to facilitate the mating and the proliferation of offspring. Of course, considering how highly social the human being is, mating is preceded by a courting ritual, eventual marriage, and then the act of sex to procreate.

Masturbation might be considered a sin, but better it is to masturbate to relieve anxiety than to have unprotected sex with a woman and lead to an unplanned pregnancy. Or God-forbid, have the woman abort the child because of the unprotected sex.

Medically speaking, it is better to masturbate than to have sex with an over-sexed individual and risk acquiring STD/AIDS, genital crabs etc.

That can be countered, actually. There are patients who are in hospice care who are suffering and want death.
There is a dichotomy surrounding the concept of death. In one aspect, it represents the end of life and all emotions, feelings, memories, and the automation of that particular life. In the other, it represents a release from pain, anguish, and toils of life; Freedom, more or less.

We must take into consideration that it is the Athiest minority that were responsible for the repudiation of the removal of prayers in schools as well as championing the cause to remove the word 'GOD' in all public institutions and governmental edifices. The same minority group that has allied with the lesbian gay movement to implement their crusade to allow gay marriage. Gay unions, have been recognized, but marriages, not so. Since marriage involves private religious orders that are beyond control of government.

The goal here is seeing the twisting and destruction of church-taught human moralism.

In this effect, as we see in liberal europe where there is a decrease in population growth rates, which corresponds to the high levels of homosexuality in said countries. An effect of unnatural unions. How can it be a marriage when there is no offspring created.

Biblically speaking, the Bible condemns homosexuality as an immoral and unnatural sin. Leviticus 18:22. Whenever there is mention of marriage, it is between a male and a female. The first mention of marriage, Genesis 2:24, describes it as a man leaving his parents and being united to his wife.

Good point, brown.

Well stated, ergo, if we support this we see the continued degradation of the sanctified sacrament that is marriage.
Only in uber liberal states does gay marriage receive support. The majority of the United States remains in opposition.

The Philippines, which is actually a conservative nation, will never take kindly to passing this. Where the church has a strong role in the political spectrum.

Additionally, in the United States, this remains a sensitive topic.

It is simple.

Romans 1:26-27: "For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence [sic] of their error which was meet."

Am in complete opposition to gay marriage. Marriage is between man and woman. Not man and man as well as woman and woman. Abomination and unnatural. It does not follow natural law.

LGU Philippines / Re: Who Was Augustus?

Question: Was Octavian (Augustus) successful in the preservation of the threatened Roman Republic after the murder of Julius Caesar by Marcus Junius Brutus and Gaius Cassius Longinus?

There is a dichotomy of answers to this question.

1. He preserved the order of the state and its functions by restoring peace after the defeat of the Republican Army against the army of the Second Triumvurate, which was formed between Octavian and Marcus Antonius. His campaign to punish the traitors of the state, namely Brutus, and Casius and any political figures who gave aid to said traitors led to the mobilization of the Roman Military and establishment of Octavian's prominent role in the Senate as well as in palace life.

2. His coronation in effect ended the Epoch of the Republic, and the beginning of the Empire. Rome would once again be ruled by titular monarchs with absolutist powers that had the ability to counter any policies that the Senate of the People of Rome passed.

Absolute and Total Power. Augustus not only was the unchallenged political lord of the realm as Emperor of the Roman Empire, but was also charged as the Guardian and Protector of the Old Roman Religion. As Emperor he was considered and regarded as a living god. The incarnation of the divine Jupiter in human form.

Thus, giving him pure power. Each day he arose, prayers and sacrifices of animals and burnt offerings were made to his person. And when he died, was the center of an official cult of the emperor.
