O Fair Lady,

How you have influenced me, a son of Bohol, to learn the language of your own forebears.
The land of Bacolod and Ilo-Ilo, where the Gyud changes into the Gid.
Where the Sinigang is Sweet and Spicy.
Where the Pastillia is the desert of choice.
Or is that yours?

And when the lips of your precious one learns Illongo, you must, as per my request,
learn the dialect of Dagohoy.

You are ever fair in my heart, and the very light of my eyes.
I adore you, my sweet flower.

Question and Answer / Do You Have a Black Tongue?
May 30, 2010, 01:25:12 AM
People who have black tongues are the types of people who are quick to share or point out negatives about people who they have never even met before, are quick to condemn, and execute evil wishes. Are you like this?
#31609
Why do you think wicked people are wicked, in manner of speech, action, and thought?

I discussed this with a host of people during college in our collegiate bible study group. Different ranges of answers and points of views, I will share it, but before I do, I would like to see your point of view first.

To The Fairest
-Bran Lorenzo

To the gathering at evening I sojourned,
introduced myself and was introduced to different women,
sparkling smiles, beautiful faces, sweet personalities,
however,

They were dull to my senses.
For truly there is none who can compare
or even be placed in the same footstool as you.
My darling Flower.

Show me a woman who is beautiful as you
there is none
Show me a woman who is as resilient as you
there is none
Show me a woman who can even compare,
none compare to my lady most fair.

Devotion.
It is the mark of chivalry lost in age of doubt and discord.
Adoration.
For one heart to another.

Kiss on kiss.

Maka kilig jyud. Big thing in a fruitful and blooming relationship is a healthy trusting relationship, patience in one another, supporting and confiding in one another, and most of all, a healthy relationship with God. For us, our faith is what cements our Love.

Because we both agree that the Love that we have for each other emanates from the Love of the Heavenly Father, who Is Love. :)

Quote
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.""

For me, it doesn't matter. Some younger people are more intellectually matured compared to older people. Age is not really the issue here. What matters is the advice given.

So very true. Show me a boy who needs maturing, and I'll show you an old man who has failed to mature.

You know Mike, there is no comparison to the feeling of the sensational touch. It is the beauty of touch that adds a sense of third dimensional poetry to one's internal dialogue in regards to the woman of our affection.

To uncover the body of a body, is another way of saying, to see and feel lover's soul.

How sweet.

my older son took from me his love of reading encyclopedia, current events, history and geography. so he asked a lot of questions and tell us a lot of information. you know, the 'did you know' stuff.

Jig,

You remind me of what my father used to do when my sister and I were younger; he would test us the capitals of different countries. As a child, I was intrigued and took our World Book Globe and would spin it, and whatever country my finger landed on, I would ask my father. To the teeth, he knew.

My sister and I were so impressed that we tried remembering as well. lol. In regards to educating children and fostering intellectual growth, this is the ideal. We were always encouraged to ask questions and to find out the answers / reasoning for things.

This is good that you are encouraging your children in this regard, it is the gold standard to nourish a learning-environment for children. It facilitates memory retention and conceptualization.

Ephesians 2: 18-22

For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father.  So then you are no longer strangers and aliens,  but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,  built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord.  In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.

Galatians 2: 17-21

But if, in our endeavor to be justified in Christ, we too were found to be sinners, is Christ then a servant of sin? Certainly not!  For if I rebuild what I tore down, I prove myself to be a transgressor.  For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God.  I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.  I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness  were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.

Galatians 1:6-9

I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospelâ€"  not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.  But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed.  As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.

Bible Study / Beautiful Christian Tamil Song
May 29, 2010, 05:19:38 PM
This song is based on Isaiah Chapter 53

Beautiful song.

Tamil christian song - En Uyirana Uyirana......

Who has believed what he has heard from us?
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
2 For he grew up before him like a young plant,
and like a root out of dry ground;
he had no form or majesty that we should look at him,
and no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He was despised and rejected  by men;
a man of sorrows,  and acquainted with  grief;
and as one from whom men hide their faces
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

4 Surely he has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray;
we have turnedâ€"every oneâ€"to his own way;
and the Lord has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.

7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted,
yet he opened not his mouth;
like a lamb that is led to the slaughter,
and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent,
so he opened not his mouth.
8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away;
and as for his generation, who considered
that he was cut off out of the land of the living,
stricken for the transgression of my people?
9 And they made his grave with the wicked
and with a rich man in his death,
although he had done no violence,
and there was no deceit in his mouth.

10 Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him;
he has put him to grief;
when his soul makes  an offering for guilt,
he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days;
the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
11 Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see  and be satisfied;
by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant,
make many to be accounted righteous,
and he shall bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many,
and he shall divide the spoil with the strong,
because he poured out his soul to death
and was numbered with the transgressors;
yet he bore the sin of many,
and makes intercession for the transgressors.

Yes, yes.
One time i was studying for lab exams, and was reviewing with my darling that evening. Then out of no where (in the dead of night), she started getting emotional with me. Emotional talks and it was very heartfelt. One cannot describe in words the feeling of perfect contentedness..but i had that feeling.

Being cheesy or acting cheesy is okay...its a mark that you guys aren't afraid to tell each other anything. And most of all, it comes from the heart.

And in the grand scheme of things, that is what counts.

The foot is a highly sensitive part of the human anatomy. It has extensive nerves and musculature. During a woman's period, foot massage can help her destress and take away some of the pains of the 'bloating' feeling.

Some times, when she was really feeling bad, I would take a wash cloth, damp it in cool water, and gently wipe her forehead and face with it. I could not bear seeing her in pain.

Poems and Poets / To Nanay Milie
May 29, 2010, 01:59:37 PM
Nay,
There are so many things that i wish to say to you
There are so many things I wish to ask you
To listen to your voice as I used to when I was but a child

Nanay, you were like a grandmother-like figure in my childhood,
I can still remember the time when i was but a child,
the haircuts you gave me,
do you remember them?
The delicate trim of your scissors, cold steel
with gentle caress on my child face,
the pour of johnson's baby powder
the smell of it still lingers in my memory ever so implanted.

Do you remember the time when you went to the Simbahan?
Was it St. Joseph's? I forget the name now, however, i can never forget your dedication.
Daily, you went to church and would take me there from time to time,
Eucharistic adoration
and rosary prayers.

In the eyes of a child, i was amazed at your devotion to faith,
and impeccable devotion to the Virgin Mother.
Or the time you took us to the monastery,
clothed in my best,
i went with you to visit the monks and priests,
Nanay.

Nanay, you are older now, much older in years and yet
my mind still remembers you as my Nanay.
With your smile so soft, and eyes so brown, gentle and loving Nanay.

I have never forgotten your last message to me when I left.
You said, and I will never forget, "Ampo Kanunay"

I love you Nay.

I am a very passionate man. I talk not only with my mouth, but through my eyes when i gaze at her, and with my hands. I like to hold her, embrace, kiss, etc etc. When she is having her period, i will get her favorite: chocolates and give her a foot massage. Patience is something that i had to re-learn with her. And am perfecting.

I am constantly reminded how she is lucky to have me. On the contrary, it is I who is lucky.

When you are in love, your actions display your words. Simple truth. There are no inhibitions.

She inspired me and motivated me along the way, as with my father. From elementary, to middle to high school. Throughout college and Medicine Proper. My mother epitomizes sacrifice and love. There is nothing my mother and father would not do for their children, again, it illustrates their parental role and loving nature.

My mother taught me to be stern with choices, and to remember one's roots and family. My mother was influential in my religious life and Faith growth. Always encouraging us to pray when in difficult moments and to always Trust in God.

I am so lucky to have such a good and loving Mom.

By: Bran Lorenzo

Cool rays windy days the harvest of sunshine that rests on my notebook this day
where can it go? this feeling that i have right now.
If I were to describe the delight i have in knowing that i have you, on to have you in my arms
and if i say it much, darling, it is because i cannot help myself.
Do you remember one time when we were enjoying a glass of tea,
there by on Spanhoekk by that quiet quaint Dutch resto that I used to take you to,
one thing that i cannot deny myself is the need to describe thoughts and feelings, an understanding
that you and I have and delight in.

I dream sometimes, sweetheart, that we are in Bloomfield again, by the old park near the bountiful antique outlets
with our cup of latte, hand in hand.

The feeling of your hand in mine.
My heart is happy, darling, and I want you to know that.

I wait again, my adored one, to again touch your hand.

I picked up my younger brother from school one time and was late by 30 minutes. The little guy asked me, "Kuya, what took you so long?" I answered, "I woke up late, kiddo. I'm sorry."

Then he said, "Kuya, how could you!"

:P

So I took him to the Custard Store and we had ice cream as a way to make it up.
I can't help but smile knowing how big he has become and is so prim and proper for his age. Already correcting his Kuya. I could remember to the time when I used to wash him when he was a baby, change his diapers, make his milk, and putting him to bed. I was there with his Ate Angel to see him crawl the first time, walk the first time. I can still remember the first time he said, "KUYA!" ha ha ha!

This reminds me of an anecdote.

One time in college a group of us undergrads attended a Tri-Beta Meeting, the national Honors Biology Fraternity, and a group of white-Americans were poking fun of a classmate of mine who was a female Vietnamese-American. The reasons for it was because of her thick Vietnamese accent and her physical features, I was so distrubed by it. I could not help but take the defense of Tam (her name). And these gentlemen aimed to become doctors?

It is amazing how turn of events manifests.

These guys who used to make fun of Tam ended up dropping the Pre-Medicine track due to the difficulty of our program and switched to economics and business, whereas Tam and I and many others finished it and proceeded to Medicine Proper. So now, I always think, just because you are limited via language barriers or physical appearance, that should not be a limiting factor or a reason for you to diverge from your goal and objective, rather should be a motivational factor.

Tam is now a 3rd year medical student who is also in a dual MBA program for Health Care Administration. She goals to become a Pediatric Oncologist, and I am sure that she will be a great one. She may be small, she may have an accent, but that girl...has a big brain. Intelligent.

She moved mountains. :)

dili aplikabol ang jesus christ sa criticism dinhe sa Germany. Tingali defense mechanism nako kay foreigner ko, babaye pa jud. Please don´t forget that there is rampant mail-order brides here, and prejudice and cliche´s exist.

There is a discussion culture so pwede maglalis.

I told my kids not to get in trouble just tell me and I will face the parents and the school director.

bisan sa simbahan katoliko, mokanta gani ka ug German mosipat kay mangutana kabasa ka ug song book?
Kon ting lamano na Peace be with you, laktawan ka kay lain ang imong dagway. I complained to my parish priest and told him to bring this issue in his homily, he did and they slowly accepted me as a loud asian singing parish member, (anad gud sa karaoke)ha ha ha ha.

Manay, I am sorry that you go through such blatant discrimination, but you know what, it is okay because despite the discrimination of others, you have raised a fine family. You raised your daughter well and your son well. Always enrich the family life with religious vocation and faith matters, as it augments any weakness (in anyone).

As for the prejudices of others, it is a sign of ignorance.

Keep on pushing forward. :)

a mentor once said, there are only three fulfillments in life. to plant a tree, to bear a child, and to write a book. i already have a child. i already have planted a tree (abs cbn la mesa watershed), and i currently write in newspapers and magazines about parenting (can't be considered a book yet haha).

but i guess it will always be having to build a family of my own ;) i think that's an accomplishment.  ;D but.. i know i know, i got a long way more to go.

Keih, there is no comparison to family. That is the dream and the goal. The ideal.

For me, I dream and pray that someday I, too, will be married and have children, if it is by His Will.

And if He is Kind, I pray more than 4 children. he he he!

For they say, children are a blessing to the father, like a quiver of bows, they augment him. And a loyal and loving wife is a blessing, like the gates of a city. :)

Graduating college and earning my degree and putting to good use my scholarship (it was not an easy ride! stressful kaayo tong' undergrad years).

Being accepted into an dual MD-Ph.D program. It is hard work, but as we are reminded in the Bible, you reap what you sow. So if you sow hard work and dedication to studies despite the present difficulties, you will reap the reward!

Or what my medical advisor would tell me whenever I come to his office, "GET OUT! Study some more! Study till your eyes fall off! "

Talk about motivational talk. Errr...absolutist talk? puahahahaha!

I love you Dr. Barone!! ;D

Ingon man to si Jesus Christ "Blessed are you when they speak all manner of evil against you because of me..."

Better to suffer an inustice by man but reap the Glory in Heaven. For I guarantee, that the Shepperd will throw the weeds to be burned and the wheat to be harvested.

matud pa ni Manay, depende sa tao... there are only few people nga pwede mu-criticize nako but other than that, jealousy na oi

People like that, my dear, are not worth your time or your concern. Consider them as insects that do not matter, what benefit does it give you to listen to their chiding and their unproductive talks?

For me, throughout college, and medical school i had to deal with people who were against me, jealous man sila gud.
Pero for me, i dont care, you just have to put in the mindset that we will always be approached and made fun of by devils in good clothing. We deal with this as it is part of life, part of the human experience. If they are jealous of you, and speak ill of you, it is for the fact that you possess what they do not and that you are doing something right that they cannot accomplish or lack that ability. So, since it is in their nature to hate what they cannot have or cannot attain, they will manifest that same character. It is a defensive psychological action on their part.

So what do we do? If they are negative, then we must be positive. Ignore the negative and focus on the positive end result and the goal, the objective.

i firmly believe that people who likes to criticize other people and pag-plus pa labaw pud daghan ta ma-criticize niya is a form of jealousy gyud......

I agree, Anne. :)

But for me, I just pray for those who have a tendency to have evil tongues and speak with deceit. They cannot help it man, as it is in their nature. We, must be the better. We delight in knowing that we, though we are small like the mustard seed, can make even mountains move.

In Christ, all is possible.

Let them criticize and let them talk. For all they have is talk.

Talking and Doing is totally different. :)
