Dodong, murag nindot nang 6 yr MD/PhD program, as you said, naay daghan advantages. Angayan gyud ka ma director/administrator sa ospital, dong. Murag mopatuo gyud ang tawo nimo kung ikaw na'y mosulti.

It's gonna be a tough one, choosing which one will fit you better. Esp. karon, daghan kaayo ka'g choices. Medical schools are a-calling. Daghan nag lumba to enroll you, dong. Hehehe.

Bisan bata pa ka, dong. And you said, you lack life experience, there's so much about you that miss belle and I admire.

Tinuod dong, you are brilliant. Pero hard-working kaayo ka pud. Daghan kaayo mga brayt nga tawo nga wala'y effort, mga tapulan. You work very hard, ga persevere jud ka. And that's what separates you from other brilliant, young people. You could have taken on a much easier path, but you're choosing something that's gonna be tough for you in the next few years, medical school lisod kaayo na, not only academically, pero physically pud...walang tulugan gyud na.

So, Miss Belle and I are your proud Ates. Not only are you smart, you value hard work. You're young but you know what you want, and you're willing to sacrifice a lot of things to get it. We love you, dodong!

PS. It would be nice if you had a special girl to make you smile along the way.

Di ba dong, si Jaja engineer man?

Si Jaja guapa na, brayt pa gyud. Viva Boholana!

So you now you work in the private field, ate? Do you see yourself going back into academia and teaching pharmacy students again?

You are very lucky, Ate, to be blessed with such a virtue. And I think you were definately a great pharmacy instructor when you taught it.

Plano nako dong, kung mag tigols nako, basin mo balikbayan kos atoa, mag teach part-time, then part-time sun worshipper in Panglao, chugging gallons of pina coladas. Hahaha.

Pero wala man nako nahuman tong masters, unya karon you definitely need a grad/post-grad under your belt para maka teach. So, I'm planning to enroll in a PharmD program next year puhon maluoy ang ginoo, pero wala man nag offer ug special PharmD program for RPhs ang school dire, the closest one is Univ of Florida, which means ma associate ko sa Gators, the Dawgs worst enemy! wuhuhuhu!  :'(

Ikaw dong, what kind of doctor are you planning to be?

------------------------------------------------------
Miss Belle, average ra jud ko, honestly. Igo ra gud maka 1 + 1 = 11...hahaha! Si dodong Bran maoy brilliant gud. I believe he is going to be one of the most gifted doctors sa iyang generation. Excited ko para niya. Our dodong will make his mark, and you and I hopefully will still be around to witness that.

Yes dodong, they say that people who are blessed with extraordinary intelligence don't make good teachers. What is a basic question for you, may not be so basic for everyone else. So, you get frustrated.  :)

I really liked teaching. I had the patience, I think. It felt good to be surrounded by so many young people, eager and hungry for knowledge. You feel young as well, you'll never get into a rut mentally because you're learning new things everyday.

I taught the basic pharmacy courses for freshmen and sophomores. I was a student as well, working towards my Masters. What sealed the deal for me was the 75% tuition fee discount for the teachers. And also, since the Dean was a consultant at UniLab, kaming tanan sa faculty, kanunay ma invite sa mga parties and shows, events sponsored by UniLab. Mao jud to akong favorite, free food!

That was a fun time in my life.

;D

PS. Maglagot pud ko anang mga cheaters, dong. Hate jud na nako.

A girl I know was eating at a small resto in LA, and at the next table, na notice daw niya nga naay lalake nag inusara ug kaon, he was wearing a cap. She approached him and said that he looked a lot like Orlando Bloom, he just smiled and said hi. Pagka dungog daw niya sa voice, that's when she realized it was really him! Nag estorya2x pa daw sila kadiyot, she got a pic and an autograph. He was very nice kuno, very down-to-earth.

Hahaha!

I have no desire to solve our country's problems. The best contribution that I could make is just to try to be a good person, to my family, my friends, and the people I deal with and encounter on a daily basis. I am not very noble, huh? Dili man ko patriotic...

;D

With regards to Mike using up all the colorful words in the known world, I guess the situation warranted it. Kung nag wonder ka unsa ka chaste in thought si Mike, all I can say to this is: he's a kind man but he's no saint.

And that's a good thing. Today's men need to be maginoo pero medyo bastos in order to survive in today's world.
#3151

Bisan dire sa Amerika, mga pinoy magpinalabwanay...a lot of them are so flashy...materialistic kaayo...gaudy kaayo'g mga style...

Naay ubang nurses nga kaila nako (esp. in Calif) nga pinoy, mga hilas man kaayo...kung mo porma mura'g mga milyonaryo...mao jud to akong impression sa mga nurses kay mga datu gyud...sa pinoy community sa calif, mga nurses ang superior kintahay kay sila man dagko'g paycheck...imagine my surprise, nga pag abot nako dire where maihap ra ang pinoy, lahi ra gyud. In my job, I deal with nurses everyday. Ang mga puti nga nurses lahi ra man gyud, simple ra kaayo sila. Nothing flashy. Just regular working people.

Anyways, with regards to Metrobank, I couldn't say anything negative. Mao na akong banko sa Pinas, and I've always received good service from them.

*to be fair, I know many wonderful pinoy nurses too*

#3152
These are all noble goals, Mr Sigbin. Heroic ideals...

But we don't know what we want.

Knowing what we should do, and doing what we should...are two very different things.

Sa imong standard, kinsa man ang guapa nga artista?

#3154
I've noticed this too, Mike. Poor gyud kaayo ang service sa atong nasud.

One thing I like about the US, you can expect really good customer service here.

Last night, we ate at a resto and our dinner was late arriving, the manager came over to our table apologetic and said that dinner was on the house. And that we could order whatever else we wanted for free. Service like that, you just don't get in the Philippines.

A few months ago, I was trying to get my passport renewed. I called the Embassy in Washington DC, and the girl who answered the phone was so rude.

But was she pretty?

Yes, it is true in other countries...but that is not necessarily a good thing, is it? The Basques and the Sikhs feel oppressed and are treated as outcasts, maybe the source for the term, separatists?

I am thankful as well that we haven't gone through civil war. Some people think, though, that it is coming. As a last resort for national purification, washing away the vermin perhaps infecting our government?

Pray tell, Mr Sigbin, what binds us together as Filipinos? Our penchant for telenovelas? Our love of balikbayan boxes?

You already pointed out that so many Pinoys hardly remember the words in our national anthem, and that patriotism is not what it used to be.

Maybe the tie that binds us all together is our lack of patriotism.

I agree with you, sir.  There is not even much respect for the flag or the national anthem anymore.  Sometimes you see a flag, faded and tattered, and left in the rain.  Sometimes you meet people, supposedly professional, who forget entire stanzas of the Lupang Hinirang.  It is as if people are ashamed to take pride in what symbolizes the Filipino.  Patriotism is not what it used to be.

What does it mean to be Filipino?

We are a fragmented group of people, not a nation, but just people living in a bunch of islands grouped together. We primarily identify ourselves as Boholanos, or Cebuanos, Ilonggos, Ilocanos, Pangalatoks, Pampaguenos, Bulakenos, etc etc...

We are as suspicious and wary of the people who come from other islands in our country, as we are scared and suspicious of aliens.

ambot lang, miss belle, you might wanna try a carrot gyud...

that carrot soap came in a black square box, manufactured in Butuan.

ang akong classmate nagtug-an nako about that, she was really pretty, unya hamis kaayo ug face, puwa puwa ang aping...

I asked her what she was using, carrot soap daw...

mao to pag try nako, effective gyud...

Dili man to mapalit sa dept. stores miss belle, we had to order it from a dealer...

Sa grade six pa ko, I used to let a papaya get so ripe that it's almost rotten, then I mash it, and put it on my face for 30 mins.

In college, I used Likas Papaya as body soap, then the revolutionary carrot soap for my face. I used to always get compliments nga hamis daw akong nawong.

Unya dire sa states, wala naman carrot soap. Losyang ever na gyud.
