Its still Dan Lim against anyone willing to throw in their hat: Toto Veloso, Djingo Rama, Rene Relampagos or comebacking mayor Joe Torralba idf fair game for him.

To my sources, it may not be as good looking or sounding with Rene's bid: he has been a voter from Loon, Tagbilaran, Loay and now back in Tagbilaran. Seemingly, he is not as convinced he could win now in the city as in his 3rd district.

Toto or Djingo, mayor Dan can easilly go fight head-on. It would be bad for Edgar's bid though, Chatto wouldf definitely spend for these guys while DNL could position his canons for an anti-Chatto blast.

Too bad.

The discovery was accidental, oral traditions would say.

A piratical raid prompted the Dauisnons to lock themselves in, to keep the marauders out. Unluckilly, it stormed during the time and the pirates could not leave town either. So the pirates had to stay, while the people inside could only suck their thumbs in fasting kay wa na man juy makaon.

Tradition further went on saying a kid was crawling under the altar table while the congregation was praying for deliverance.

Somebody later noticed the kid's knee with mud.

This prompted the men in the group to dig up the source and then quite miraculously, the water source spewed fresh water despite its close proximity to the sea.

Dauis Church has got a different appeal. The oversized posts lining the aisle, the trompe l'oile paintings and the general look of a church in Florence is quite astounding.

Try searching for the images of the Cathedral of San Lorenzo de Medici of Italy and you would most likely agree with me that the semblance is rather peculiar.

It is therefore no wonder why Dauis Church has become a venue for most weedings of the century, not counting the amazing plaza at the church's backdoors.

The paintings over the altar table hoewever were attempted restorations.

Lito Arcaya, the artist however could not make it true to the original he made his own mark. Kind of him for putting clearly the Boholano skill in the ceilings.  ;D

ANg altar sa Valencia Bay has been restored, thanks to Fr. Estoque who has the right sense to call on a Valencianhon to copy the segmented carvings from molave and and come out with the right measurements. It was indeed tedious but at least we have seen teh attempt at getting near the original.

The gilt however still needs to be done right so that the altar regains the glow it used to have. Too bad the church now is not as dark as it was suppoede to be when the elders were worshiping in dark rooms. If it were, the attempt at restoring the altar to its original stature maigh pass.  ::)

I am sure, as a public office, the City Accountant's Office could not just ban people from entering it.

But unless they have every reason to belive that those people who have access to the office  ferrets out official records without the due process to be kindlings to the burning war between the city adminsitarion and the opposition, the move could be legitimatlely done.

I am sure it legitimizes the move in as much as banning a person into an office would be a far better cry that suing him for deliberately passing privileged information to those whose intention is only to sow dissent and possibly claim the City Hall with nary an effort.

Catigbian - Bohol / Pamilihang Bayan
February 12, 2009, 11:18:44 AM
Catigbian wins Bohol’s
best market in 2008

NOT resting on their victory after ranking next to the best in 2006, Catigbian Public Market finally bagged the best market award in Bohol this year.

But for Mayor Roberto Salinas, this is one great opportunity to be competing again for the region’s best market, he aired during the awarding ceremonies held at the Island City Mall in Tagbilaran Thursday.

Salinas, a navy captain before he joined the local government, said the victory is also an affirmation that it is not the building that delivers the honor but the constant drive and dedication by local leaders to deliver customer friendly services that spells the by-word in their market’s operations.

Catigbian Public Market, authorities say was a post-war infrastructure and competed in 1956 and should pale in comparison to the modern markets sprouting all over Bohol.

But in this year’s provincial search for public and private market places complying with trade laws such as price tags and weights and measures, Catigbian bested other contenders in a province-wide search for the Pamilihang Bayan, local Department of Trade and Industry sources revealed.

Taking the two next spots in the Pamilihan’s recent awarding ceremonies are Ubay and Tubigon.

This year’s Bohol market finalists are Inabanga, Ubay, Tubigon, Antequera, Talibon, Guindulman and Jagna, evaluation team data revealed.

According to evaluation team member, they hope the search motivates market operators and vendors to ensure upholding of consumer rights, establish standards on this line, encourage market them to run markets following prescribed standards to protect consumers from inaccurate weighing scales.

The “Pamilihan ng Lalawigan” encourages markets to show concern for consumer welfare by demonstrating commitment to the Bantay Bilihin program through complying with fair trade laws, improving the market place and adhering to social commitment and responsibility by implementing complaints and redress mechanism, he continued.

Catigbian topped the Search for “Pamilihan ng Lalawigan” by setting up sustainable quality standards which ultimately impressed the evaluators upon checking on established criteria.

Catigbian has Cresilda Rulida as market administrator while a support staff of revenue collection clerks, utility workers and market collectors assists her.

With a market implementing no permit no display policy, revenues generated here run from a little over a million in 2005 to whooping P1.7M in the following year. In 2007, even with the separation of incomes generated from the modern Livestock Center, Catigbian still managed to get P1.4 M and about P1.1M with a quarter still left in the year.

Here, laminated business permits are mandatory and visible price tags and price monitoring boards are also enforced as market bulletins are installed, Salinas said in his speech during the awarding ceremonies.

The public market here has also functional Timbangan Ng Bayan scales, implements one-on-one calibration in all weighing scales, puts up a Consumer Welfare Desk, color-coded market sections for easy identification, covered garbage receptacles in strategic locations and has obstacle free aisles and passageways.

Aside from visibly clean market surroundings, Catigbian also puts up a public address system, modern cash registers for market collection booths and dispenses free health services during market days.

The innovation has also allowed Catitgbian market to be an object of admiration from visiting legislators and development planners who hope to replicate the practice, Salinas shared.

Tubigon, Bohol / New Classification for Tubigon
February 12, 2009, 11:16:18 AM
Tubigon now 1st class town

TUBIGON, under Mayor Luna Piezas, jumps from its last classification as 3rd to first class town, an achievement that would probably go in local history as rare.

Tubigon shares with Ubay barging into becoming Bohol’s first class towns, a position then solely occupied by Talibon.

Then earning a little less than P44 million four to five years ago, the town’s income leaped astronomically in the past three years to an average of P55 million, reported town treasurer Servanda Salomon.

Records bare that Tubigon has earned an average of P63.361 in the past 3 years, catapulting it to the top position.

On the development, local tax observers see that the dynamic local leadership and its improvement of the town market is instrumental in the increase of income.

While many Tubigon residents speculate about increased taxes to maintain the status, Salomon said that aside from the real property taxes, which they do not have any control, municipal taxes remain the same, or until a new tax ordinance is passed.

“There is no upgrading yet of local taxes, except the real property tax, which is revised every three years, she said.

We are expecting a revision of municipal tax ordinances in 2010, as mandated by the local government code, she added.

Wanting to downplay the fear of tax rate jumps, the town bagman said the biggest impact of the re-classification is increase in paychecks for local employees.

“The reclassification basically affects the salaries of local employees; the salary standardization would now be using the first class bracket following salary standardization,” she bared.

The Bureau of Local Government and Finance (BLGF) in its memorandum of circular no 01-M (15)-08 dated November 20, 2008 has issued the re-classification of Bohol municipalities, effective July 29, 2008.

According to BLGF, class brackets are based on average annual income in three years.

First class towns should have an average of P55M or more, 2nd class towns earning P45M to P54M average.

Third class towns earn P35M to P44M; fourth class: P25M to P34M; fifth class P15M to P24M and sixth class towns earn below P15M.

Pamilacan dancers retell
conversion tale in Cebu

CHILDREN dancers of whale hunters now renewed sea shepherds bring Bohol’s most astounding environmental conversion story to the country’s premier tourism promotion event in the Visayas this March 1 in Cebu.

Tribu Pamilacan would be representing cultural treasures of a fishing village and would be bringing in their best dancing form that handed them a major award during the Sandugo Street-dancing festival.

The tribe would be the province’s best dancing showcase at the launching of the Wealth of Wonders (WOW) Philippines diversity of cultures in a showcase billed as One Visayas to be held in Cebu, weeks from now, sources from the Bohol Tourism Office bared.

Homegrown choreographers led by Winston Sendrijas and Jeremeel Decasa, who have been handling dance workshops across the province have been reportedly staying in the formerly whale-hunting island of Pamilacan.

They aim to retrain and recreate the dancing form, which got the island contingent the Bohol Sandugo festival’s Best in Production Design award last year.

With Tribu Pamilacan, also expected to put up their cultural showcases are street dancers from top Visayan festivals as Sinulog, Maskara, Buglasan, Ati-atihan, Dinagyang and Pintados among others.

Tribu Pamilacan would be presenting in a highly choreographed dance drama a depiction of the extraordinary island life in Pamilacan especially when the fishers turned to a lucrative and yet dangerous whale hunting industry

The dance drama however ends with the story of how the fishers, with the help of government and nonâ€"government organizations have turned the anti-environment practice into one eco-cultural tourism enterprise that hauls for them the accolade as sea shepherds.

It may be recalled that Pamilacan was once best known for its stenchy backward fishing community, one it got from sun-drying whale meat.

Now, also from the island comes out one of the country’s fascinating news of ecological tourism which could possibly be Bohol’s greatest conversion story of the decade.

Wanting to build on that story, children dancers have been on the heat of rehearsals set after class hours to impress their story for the whole region to learn, choreographers said in an interview last Sunday.

The Provincial Government through the Bohol Tourism Office, the Ayala Foundation through Ms Bea Zobel and Joel Uichico, LGU Baclayon and some unnamed sponsors jointly fund the tribes Cebu performance, reports said.

San Miguel - Bohol / Outstanding Mayor
February 12, 2009, 11:11:39 AM
Bonior earns DSWD
outstanding mayor

THE mayor of San Miguel town recently reaped a singular accolade from the national government for putting up innovate bureaucratic measures to dent on poverty in his town.

Mayor Claudio Bonior recently received the Most Outstanding Mayor of the Philippines award from the World Bank and its project funds implementer; the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) shared municipal information officer Menandro Pesquera in an interview.

The award was for DSWD Kapit Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan Comprehensive Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) Special Leadership Awards for local chief executives.

The awarding which was held at the Imperial Palace in Quezon City last February 3 was also attended by awardees from all KALAHI CIDSS areas across the country, reports from San Miguel bared.

Coming in after the DSWD has earlier tied up a partnership with the town, Bonior took poverty alleviation by heart while persuading his colleagues in government to prioritize counterpart support for the country’s social service delivery program, sources close to the mayor added.

“He also pushed for the empowerment of communities consistent with the community driven development tenets adopted for projects under the DSWD,” Pesquera stressed.

According to him, with poverty stalking the town barangays, Bonior strongly pursued community participation in deciding priority development project which the town can counterpart.

Projects his town partnered with World Bank funds implemented by the DSWD include key farm to market access roads, irrigation spillways, rural electrification projects, school buildings, health centers rain collectors and farm impounding systems, he enumerated.

San Miguel tapped the DSWD KALAHI CIDSS from the national government since 2006 and Bonior continued on the steps to poverty alleviation when he assumed office in May of 2007.

Making the KALAHI CIDSS a top town priority supported program, his move also enthused people belonging to the San Miguel Area Coordinating Team, Pesquera said.

The town area coordinating team also won two more awardees: Engr. Ronilo Gauma for outstanding project engineer and Cherry Merin as outstanding municipal roving book keeper in the Philippines.

Tubigon, Bohol / Free Rides To Cebu
February 12, 2009, 11:09:45 AM
“New craft” prompts free
Tubigon - Cebu passage

SINCE last week, boat passengers taking Cebu-Tubigon route had the surprise of their lives when they got free rides in three Tubigon-Cebu regular trips.

This after cut-throat competition showed its form and old shipping industry players started asserting their weight in an attempt to sidle out a “the new player” who wants to anchor on the business they have so far wielded power.

The free trips however are only for passengers taking the Tubigon Cebu 7:00 AM, 12:30 PM and 2:50 PM.

Free passages are for passengers who choose the standard two-hour slow boat trips to Cebu over a sleeker and faster 45-minute new player StarCraft, one that can finish the trip in 45 minutes.

Long time industry players Jadestar Shipping Lines and Tubigon Ferry Island Express have shrugged off passage rates, not minding the fuel and operational expenses for now to make sure that Siti-Inter Island Cargo and Services Company Incorporated is gone and out.

Jadestar puts up the 7:00 and 12:30 while Tubigon Ferry Island Express plies the 2:50 slot.

For the faster Starcraft 1, it can however field the same boat for the three trips and vice versa.

The trip back from Cebu to Tubigon however is not affected and is pegged at P180-200 still.

The entry of the new craft came after Tubigon Sangguniang Bayan officially granted the application of SITI Inter-island Cargo and Services Company and hoisted the ropes for the ship owner’s bid to get a Certificate of Public Convenience for the route and back.

The SB approval also assents to the new craft’s return trips from Cebu to Tubigon at 5:45 AM, 11:45 and 1:45 PM.

Meanwhile, Tubigon information officer Ligaya Castillo in a phone interview said they are glad of the development specifically on the entry of a new craft as it would bolster sea traffic and bring more economic development to the town and Bohol’s northern corridors.

“Mayor Luna Piezas is also elated about the coming of the new boat believing that the new service would leave in its wakes countless job opportunities and makes sea trip to Cebu relatively easier,” she added.

From my sources, it was upon the egging of somebody high up that DA Sec Arthur Yap decided to throw down his political hat on to the 3rd district seat this 2010.

And then, after a Malacanang official visited Bohol, the high up pusher suddenly reversed because according to my source, Boy Eladio is having the seat in his crosshairs. He asked the Malacanang guy to tell Artie Yap to go for the first district then.

Artie, the guy who has got no known parlors in a non-aggie district is like a fish running out of water. In no time at all, he would be dried fish if he takes the District 1 bait.

There are a lot of things that a studio can do to get you the shots as you imagined.

There are also a whole lot of equipment you may need.

One thing i would like to put up is a portable dimmer which would be useful when you take kind of nice fotos with the character, the texture and the artistry that looks professional.

One with a barn door would be ideal and a couple of blue gels could enhance the effects.

Placing the light too is crucial, and ms da binsi is right, as her shots prove putting the light at different angles actually enhances the feel of the image.\

Talk of the Town / Re: Helmet as a protection?
February 12, 2009, 10:28:16 AM
Glacier has a point there.

I had a friend who bought one of these helmets for compliance. He only has a Honda Dream kile what i have. He laso has got nice acessories on them, including oversized mufflers.

I was about to ask him to test his new helmet, like a quick job at possibly throwing it if it should survive the impact.

When he took it from the handlebars, it slipped and fell. And it did. It cracked right there and then.

He tapes it with the two-inch masking tape right under where it could not be seen. He also wound a black electrical tape around the headgirth and he still escaped the flag down yesterday.

That for him is ingenuity. Perhaps for the enforcers, it is safety.

For me, that's a-one stupidity.

And you could not get caught in the highway if it is that stupidity in your brain yould wish to collect after you be brushed dry on the pavement if you meet Mr. Accident.

Talk of the Town / Helmet as a Protection?

Anytime today, as it was postponed from yesterday, the Land Transportation Office's Regional  Flying Squad would be amassing in its impound motorcycles from lowly Boholanos who could not afford to Buy four-wheeled vehicles.

The possible imponding would not basically be from non-registration or from operator's failure to get a driver's license.

The biggest apprehension is that the LTO would go for the non-helmet  wearing riders. Then, is he (driver) does have one, his motorcycle's signal lights, horns, side mirrors, modifications may not be that hard to nitpick especially when the rider has been flagged down.

Maybe, the flag down would be in the disguise of a random check point.

Believe me, after the news that broke out about the operation, outrageous violations could be just a pick away.

It started with the helmet, a convenient way to to flag down motorists.

My fear is that the helmet can just be used as a convenient way to cover the evil operation.

Helmet? well, didnt they know that those who have helmets are still not wearing it right? Or their substandard helmets bought at a shop could easily crack?

Then the petty violations. And then the habal-habal.

And then the endless list of i do not know  what else.

Dura lex sed lex. May the law not be used as a convenient way to bleed dry out dried up brothers.

Legit kaha akong fears knowing the "track record" sa "notorious flying" or flip squad sa LTO?

Valencia Church kaha ta Bay Calle?

While it may be sad that the old church has been goven a thorough facade make up, the interior is still that soul of the old Boholano Church.

Only two churches in Bohol has retained  its old wooden floors, and the Valencia Chuirch has got the most elegant wood tiles which you can really pluck oot  several portions to see that it reallly is placed on elaborate floor beams. The other one is Duero.

In Valencia, the herring bone design adopted by the artisans builds up to a dazzling grand floral
motiff at the transept crossing. I had the chance of taking a picture of the entire floor from the ceiling looking down and it was a stand out, Unluckilly, it was on my standard SLR Nikon FM 10 way back in 2000, the prints i could not locate now.

It would be nice if somebody can share the pix here? Anyone?

CBRMP sa US Aid ang gauna anang oyster culture dili nga misikat jud. Ilang pilot community ang Cambuhat along Daet River sa Buenavista. To decongest the pressure of overfishing, ilang gipasugdan ang oyster culture unja gipasunod with FCB Foundation ang Cambuhat Village Eco Tour with the oyster based main course.

The tour consists of paddling a 2 kilometer course to the main house where lunch would be served, along the way fisherman tour guide talks about how to paddle without causing drag, how to catch green crabs, shrimps, lobster, takla, hot to glean for imbao, tuway or culture pugapo.

At the main house, yould be on to cultural presentations, a thing worth looking at is the sayaw sa buli where ladies retell the story of how buli can be made into a landang or buli powder can be baked into cakes.

Dong ever forget buying a sackful of fresh oysters or bring a flat sized bottle of fresh or ginamos sisi or youll be sisi-ful when you get home.

Tired? not yet, sisi is a greap aphrodisiac, try it. hmmm?

Karon, theyre into oyster culture na sad sa smaller communities sa Cogtong Bay, murag sa Candijay nga Mangrove Adventure, naa sad silay oysters.

Scott,

It would have been perfect if you took the interior shots, i would love to have that Ah Tay bed displayed here, Its actually a rarity, the famous Chinese artisan from Binondo did not craft as many of his handcrafted beds, a credible antique collector told me less than five actually and Ah Tay the carpenter artisan was selling his beds according to his high price.

I found two of them beds in Bohol, One at Clarin ancestral Homes Heritage House in Loay, the other one here at Casa Rocha.

The third one i know, Imelda Marcos has it.

There is also one rare thing about a wooden fretwork that screens the cloister from the altar of the Loon Church, I know this one would be a rarity, so it should be kept well, protected so as not to lose it to burglars.

Snorkeled last Sunday sa Marine Sanctuary sa Pamilacan. Indeed, its the best value for the P200 i paid for the rented snorkel and protected area access.

Wished i had an underwater cam, saw this school of jackfish so thick you'd feel like suffocated and you could feel the water throb as the school moves.

Down side?

I saw a Korean tourist who had a handful of collected sea shells and corals from the sanctuary. I though she could swim but she was just there standing at a reef with snorkels and all. I could imagine the broken corals she stepped on.

Makabadlong kaha ang taga Pamilacan ani nilang mga turistang way batasan?

Kile i said Bay, the Local Government Code was crucial in the decision of the Courts for the case.

It is true, the provincial government should have the responsibility, but that it also delegated to local governments, as per LGC mandate.

A barangay government, a legitimate Local Government has indeed the power but it did not realize that with that power comes greater responsibility.

Yes, the contractor was eventually punished, and it was, sadly one which the court determined. Had i the real say, id have him pay an exorbitant amount as penalty and come out with public apologies published in papers of general circulation.

Kon ako pa, kon ako adunay pako...lupdon ko....

But i am only a spectator

The recent development is Julius Herrera is non negotiable when its the 2010 gubernatorial seat is meant.

As my informants in your hometown calle, Conhing has already given the "go"signal for Julius Herrera during the town ABC gab. Herrera - Lim was what the source told me.

As far as Edgar is concerned, Bohol political insiders doubt if Edgar would make a go if he senses a contender who also can command votes. Especially if he would be going for the post with another guy Cesar Montano, whose vote support would basically be coming from his pie.

Second, Edgar may have a tough baggage, hes definitely be at war with Dan Lim in Tagbilaran, a thing he gets from practically backing Toto Veloso.

He may also have axes to grind with Administration mayors who lost in the last elections because Edgar has to choose sides and pour the funds intended for the District 1 mayors to bail out a Veloso drowning in the city.

And then, if it would be a Yul Lopez against Ae Damalerio for the first district, chances are Edgar would go for Ae. That way hed lose a sizable chunk of Loon votes, that 25,000 already.

Here, with bated breath, we await whom Erico would annoint. That is where the biggest boost for anybody's candidacy can be reckoned.

It should ideally be like that Sir.

Sadly enough, there was no effort at seeking the right permits from any government entity. In other words, perhaps since the barangay government (i am not mentioning the name) thought it was a project they can do, they quarried from one  hill which was closest to their road improvement for ease of transport.

The fact is, it was raided by a team with RLR on the lead. This was after staff from then Vice Gov. Chatto and the Sangguninag Panlalawigan accidentally saw a new road branching off from the Carmen Sagbayan road.

Too late too, because the same week, it come out of the TV

Lest we fall into another hen and egg viscious cycle, lest just try to start somewhere deep down.

How is the big question nga nagtangag og usa ka sakong bugas humay.

First, if youll take a closer look at the teachers in preschool, then youll know where one educational system overhaul is most needed. Kong baga, sa preschool teacher pa lang, not even 50% (sorry for the bite) is psychologically capable. Last time i knew, anybody who has gone through a four year course could be a day care teacher.

So you wont wonder why first proper teachers own a terrible grasp of their sublime mission.

You cant blame them because their teachers in college did not have any idea that they'd be doing a try at making the first impression of educating kids.

Second, reality says majority of out teacher graduates are not the best siblings in the family.

The best minds take law, engineering, medicine, nursing and other high falluting sounding courses. The least, i mean those whose brain functions only enough to make body movement  their parents usually decide for them: take up education.

And the brainier in the course usually pass through college with nary a challenge.

Ang teacher graduate is only strongest as the best their sometimes incapable college teachers can give.

And their teachers in early years also find similar predicament.

So where are we now?

Sadly,  our Department of Education does not have the same grasp of what they are doing.

Poor Pinoys.

Maayo diri sa ako trabaho kay apil sa ako monitoring ang local issues, ang TB proves to be one hell of a hot issue source.

Bitaw, Mansasa once happened to be the same place where an old "city"on stilts called Dapitan was located circa 1560's (Pigaffeta)

Spaniards even referred to the place as "Venice del Oriente" probably in reference to the city where the houses were on oversized stilt posts and the passageways were actually waterways.

The city was accordingly a trading center and gold was a medium.

Diggings and treasure hunters no doubt has been pillaging the shores and Dauis has had a lot of tales of illegal diggings because of this.

its fame reached as far as the intent of the Ternateans  who raided the place which led to its abandonment by residents.

Dapitan in Mindanao was a resettlement of Boholanos from Mansasa, the rest of the people have to walk their way to a new and "nearby" location whiich they called Baclayon.

YOurginformants are simply spinning wrong tales or are simply misinformed.

1. The chocolate hills that was quarried was outside the government protected area but was intriguingly presented as it was.
2. The hill that was in Sagbayan was quarried with the nod of local officials for a barangay project.
3. The Local government code putd barangay officials directly responsible in protecting their resoucres, this time the limestone hills.
4. In no way will Capitol know all the goings on of all the areas in Bohol at one time.
5. The suceeding investigations never pointed to a politician as culprit but the contractor who was eventually asked to restore the quarried hill.
6. The governor, who was Rene at the time was eventually placed in the highlight by a network who was "paid"  or again misinformed to discredit Relampagos.
7. Rene could have been in jail if he had and now that he has no power anymore, right?
8. It was Rene-Edgar tandem who crafted the turnkey solution to Bohol's viscious cycle of depravity and lack of oppurtunity by making sure an eco-cultural heritage tourism happens here.
9. Eco-cultural because both agree that an environment friendly tourism is the only way for Bohol to go forward.
10. Sunstar did an editorial on environment protection hailing Relampagos Chatto tandem in preserving Bohol, the Sunstart archives will tell you.

Hope this serves you right? Thanks

am not as familiar with valencia but if my information serves me right, rene only lost in Loay and Sierra Bullones?

In these two towns, there were allegations of massive counting fraud. Remember, Rene's wife is an Adiong and it would be an anomaly if a Jala, who is a nemesis of the Zaraggas would take a base in Loay.

In SBullones, Rene has got a fine network, knowing that hes got an insider right under the noses of Mayor Maestrado, and him a friend of the former governor. but indeed, somebody pocketed Renes campaign mobilization fund, my sources told me.

However, out of a sense of reality, Rene did not pursue anymore, conscious of how election protests in the country would cost and how the recount could drain, not only his money but his time as well.

The COMELEC never suspended enyone while a pending protest is ongoing, so why the fuss?

that is what i am afraid gali kay until now, naa pa gihapoy moangkon nga T'saday pod sila nga tinuod.

The drift was that it was proliferated by some prominent people daw in Bohol to advance a school's new department daw. And the documentor pa is Jess Tirol, so its kind of suspicious to me personally.

I hope this is not offending the sensibilities of our friends but i would have wanted to pursue a study, most public officials ere however do not put the Eskaya as a priority.

Beautiful....... the oldest church in Bohol, Baclayon church.

Actually, Baclayon Church in Bohol claims to be the first stone church built by the Spaniards in BOhol, and it was dated 1596, or a year after Fray de Torres and Sanchez and tehir company of jesuit servants landed in Baclayon upon the request of Sra. Catalina de Bolanos, the administrator of the properties of a rich kid here named Pedro de Gamboa.

But owing to the piratical raids that pester the coastal villages, including Baclayon, the Spaniards decided they could not insist on defending the place, its people and the leaving the ongoing construction unfinished.

Eventually, they have to abandon  the project for a place where they would be relatively safe from the pirates.

They then sailed off to Loboc, following the river inland where there was a fishing community where they would again start a building by 1600-1602. By the unhampered activity in building the church, it was later completed.

It was only after more then 200 years when the jesuits went back to Baclayon to finally complete the structure in 1725.

Here, what i am telling is this: Baclayon was the first stone church started here, but it was not the first one that was completed; its Loboc.

The church in Loboc however got burned later and so the Jesuits put up another church a few meters away from the old one.

From the fabric of the old Loboc church now rises the thress storey convent of the town, perhaps the only three storey convent in the country.
