A three-ton wedding cake?

Life is a piece of cake, they say, but a cake in Baguio City seemed larger than life.

Models pose beside the wedding cake

The three-ton chocolate wedding cake was unveiled--and sliced--during the Thursday opening of the 9th Annual Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Weekend in the city up north.

The 28-feet tall, 24.5-feet wide cake is said to be enough to serve 10,000 people.

The Pentagon chief's trip coincides with an escalating row between Asia's two largest economies over an archipelago in the East China Sea administered by Tokyo under the name Senkaku and claimed by China under the name Diaoyu.

Tensions have steadily mounted since pro-Beijing activists were arrested and deported after landing on one of the islands in August. Japanese nationalists then followed, raising their flag on the same island days later.

On Tuesday, Japan announced it had nationalised three of the islands in the chain, triggering protests in China. Tokyo already owns another and leases the fifth.

The uninhabited islands are in important sea lanes and the seabed nearby is thought to harbour valuable mineral resources.

Asian territory disputes could trigger war: Panetta

By Dan De Luce
AFP News
16 September 2012

Chinese activists set fire to a Japanese flag during a protest
in Wuhan, over disputed islands in the East China Sea. AFP

China and other Asian countries could end up at war over territorial disputes if governments keep up their "provocative behaviour", US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said Sunday.

Speaking to reporters before arriving in Tokyo on a trip to Asia, Panetta appealed for restraint amid mounting tensions over territorial rights in the East China Sea and the South China Sea.

"I am concerned that when these countries engage in provocations of one kind or another over these various islands, that it raises the possibility that a misjudgment on one side or the other could result in violence, and could result in conflict," Panetta said, when asked about a clash between Japan and China.

"And that conflict would then have the potential of expanding."

Japanese manufacturers move to Philippines
Rising yen, risk factors in other countries

Japanese manufacturers are making a beeline to the Philippines due to its young, English-speaking labor market following a rising yen at home and risk factors like floods and political changes in other hubs.

Electronics firm Furukawa Electric Co. Ltd. and adhesives maker Cemedine Co. Ltd. are the latest to invest with a combined 1.016 billion yen in initial capitalization alone. This brought new Philippine investments by major Japanese companies to at least 16.51 billion yen so far this year.

"All by Myself" is a power ballad written and performed by Eric Carmen in 1975.

The verse is based on the second movement (Adagio Sostenuto) of Sergei Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Opus 18.  The chorus borrows from the song "Let's Pretend" that Carmen had written for the Raspberries in 1973.

The song was the first release from Carmen's first solo LP after leaving the power pop group the Raspberries and was originally recorded by the author and released in December 1975 to great success.  It reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, number 1 on Cash Box Top 100 Singles and number 12 in the UK.  The single sold more than one million copies in the United States and was certified gold by the RIAA in April 1976.  In a 2006 poll for UK's Five programme Britain's Favourite Break-up Songs Eric Carmen's version of this song was voted seventeenth. Money accounted for

“The money was all accounted for and spent on beneficiaries, contrary to what they are saying,” she said.

Oebanda said the statement of the whistle-blower about her ordering that receipts be faked “were not true.”  She also denied that 32 boxes full of fake receipts were taken from the VFFI office.

“Audit was still on-going and the auditors did not present to us their findings so we could explain our side,” she said, adding that aside from the audit, “a parallel impact evaluation is also being done and (would) involve third person testimonies. (This) will show the Visayan Forum’s activities and contradict allegations (that there were) no beneficiaries.”

The VFFI official said she was looking forward to the hearing of the case so she could face her accusers and clear the foundation’s name.

“We are ready. We are not hiding anything,” Oebanda said.

Oebanda also dismissed as an “intrigue-sower” the whistle-blower who reported the alleged anomalies to USAID.

“She was with (VFFI) for four years, and when she was still here she was described as intrigera,” she said.

The charges have apparently started to worry some of VFFI beneficiaries.  A survivor of human trafficking interviewed by Inquirer said she was concerned that the controversy would affect the help extended her by the foundation.

“I was 14 when I was rescued by VFFI from a cybersex den. I am now 19  and studying (to be a) social worker in Philippine Christian University,” she said.

“Paano na ang mga katulad namin na tinutulungan ng foundation.  Sa mga sinabi nila, baka magsara ang foundation (What will happen to us now?  The charges might close down the foundation),” she said.

The foundation’s headquarters in a residential area in Cubao, Quezon City, is inside a compound where new two buildings are separated by a small garden.

VFFI employees hold office in a three-story building, while the other building is the foundation’s livelihood learning center, said the VFFI staff. With reports from Jhunnex Napallacan and Carla P. Gomez, Inquirer Visayas; and AFP

Funding suspended

In a phone interview on Friday, Oebanda said the VFFI was a USAID partner for more than six years but funding was suspended without prior discussion three weeks ago.  She added that she received a letter from USAID officials saying that their funding was suspended pending the outcome of an investigation.

Oebanda also clarified that what was being audited was USAID funding worth P97 million, not P210 million, which the VFFI received from 2005 to 2011.

Oebanda said she was thinking of returning the awards given her by the US for her pioneering work.

In 2005, the US Department of State recognized the VFFI as exemplifying one of the international best practices for its antitrafficking partnership with the Philippine government and private shipping companies, and cited its founding president and executive director for the impact of her work.

In 2008, Oebanda was named by the same US department as one of its Heroes Acting to End Modern-Day Slavery in its Trafficking in Persons Report. The US Department of Labor also presented her the first Iqbal Masih Award for the Elimination of Child Labor in 2010.

The former leftist rebel known as “Kumander Liway” in the mountains of Negros in the late 1970s has denied NBI findings that a big portion of the money donated by the USAID to the VFFI is missing.

Leading antitrafficking group

The foundation, considered the leading Philippine group in the fight against human trafficking, had also received financial support from international companies Starbucks and Microsoft.

Its founder has been tapped as an adviser to the Philippine government as it seeks removal from an international watch list where human trafficking remains rampant.

Angeles said the NBI has asked the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) for records pertaining to VFFI, including those of the group’s beneficiaries.

“The auditor in her initial findings said there were indications of lack of beneficiaries and discrepancy in records submitted to other government agencies,” the NBI antigraft head said, adding that the result of one audit showed that the VFFI had listed 100 victims rescued, while the DSWD record only showed 30.

The VFFI, Angeles said, is a member of the IACAT whose members also include Vice President Jejomar Binay and the NBI.

Oebanda said she felt betrayed by the action of the US development agency, a partner of the VFFI in its antihuman trafficking campaign, but promised to clear the foundation’s name in court.

The USAID asked the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in August to probe the foundation over funds for the group’s projects that it said were missing.

“We have recommended to the Department of Justice the filing of charges of falsification of documents. More serious charges could follow,” said NBI antigraft chief Rachel Marfil-Angeles.

Angeles said the findings were backed by external auditors hired by USAID, which checked disbursements to the foundation covering the period 2005 to 2011.

NGO founder ‘shocked’ at USAID rap of funds misuse

By Nancy C. Carvajal
Philippine Daily Inquirer
September 15th, 2012

MANILA, Philippinesâ€"An emotional Ma. Cecilia Flores-Oebanda on Friday denied the charges filed against her by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) for allegedly falsifying documents to hide the misuse of at least P210 million ($5 million) in funds donated to the Visayas Forum Foundation Inc. (VFFI), a nongovernmental organization she founded in 1991.

The VFFI president said she was “shocked by the malicious attack” on the NGO  that she had “built for 20 years with blood, sweat and tears,” but vowed to “continue to provide services for victims of exploitation and human trafficking” (and allow) “our body of work to speak for itself.”

Polonius's Advice to His Son

There ... my blessing with thee!
And these few precepts in thy memory
Look thou character.  Give thy thoughts no tongue,
Nor any unproportion'd thought his act.

Be thou familiar, but by no means vulgar.
T'hose friends thou hast, and their adoption tried,
Grapple them to thy soul with hoops of steel;
But do not dull thy palm with entertainment

Of each new-hatch'd, unfledg’d comrade.  Beware
Of entrance to a quarrel but, being in,
Bear't that th' opposed may beware of thee.

Give every man thy ear, but few thy voice;
Take each man's censure, but reserve thy judgement.

Costly thy habit as thy purse can buy,
But not express'd in fancy; rich, not gaudy;
For the apparel oft proclaims the man;
And they in France of the best rank and station
Are of a most select and generous chief in that.

Neither a borrower, nor a lender be;
For loan oft loses both itself and friend,
And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry.
This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,

Thou canst not then be false to any man.
Farewell; my blessing season this in thee!

-William Shakespeare, Hamlet, Act 1, Scene 3

there was ample warning from park caretakers that the waterfalls were off limits at the time.  but these kids, being 13-year-old kids who probably very often got their way, jumped anyway.

standard class field trips always need the cooperation of kids considering that adults who accompany them, like their class advisers, cannot rein them in all the time, especially that such adults have to watch over more than 10 students on the average.

their adviser is suffering as well now and just as traumatized over the accident during her watch.  she's a relatively young teacher, a decent and upright woman of spanish extraction, the younger sister of someone i know who used to win honors for our school for winning spanish declamation contests.  i am sickened about this tragedy as it feels so close to home.  i am praying for the teacher that she be spared the blame.

sometimes, in our grief we try to cling on to something or someone to blame.  i hope the families of the victims of this tragedy would be just and merciful.

it is safe to presume that the laws of man are made based on the laws of god.  ang problema lang, kandaiyag interpretasyon ang tawo sa laws of god, kanyahay ra lainlain ug relihiyon.  por ehemplo, kun tukhion pag-ayo, ang claim sa non-catholic christians kay wa baya sa bible nga ang pari di maminyo.

hey, this sounds like an INFORMAL THEME SONG OF TUBAGBOHOL!  bol-anon ang sinugdanan ani nga medley, bol-anon sad ang ending.  arang gajod.

(the formal one?  hehe, i personally can wait forever for the composition of fr chic.)

case no. 2: another pinoy and german male couple.  nagproblema si pinoy.  sure, they can get married, he said.  but a requirement for marriage is an authenticated certificate of capacity to marry from the philippines, duly signed by his parents.  he cannot expect that, he said.

i can also foresee a great change in the dynamics of our relationship, he had said.  i think we are okay with the status quo, he added.

so there, dili tanan nga naa ana nga kahimtang naghinam nga maminyo.  the road they trek is much more complicated than we can ever know.
#29928
namoypoy ko sa hitsura sa surviving german partner.  he not only was in extreme grief, it fell on him to fix everything, from the investigation to the funeral arrangements.  kun diha pa siyay legal rights as a legal partner, dako unta kaayo ang makuha nga financial and social burden.  sige na lang ang emotional because he had to go at it alone.  regardless of his sexual orientation, he remains a citizen who has every right to be protected by the state.  as it was, the state had no basis for giving him such protection.
#29929
mga kaila nako ni sila sa una (i haven't heard from them now, but i wish them well)---

case no. 1:  pinoy ug german lived together as a couple; unmarried.  bisan tuod ug mahimo nang maminyo, tahakunon pa baya ang process, labi nag foreigner ang usa.  anyway, they seemed happy enough.  but one never knows what demons can grip the inner sanctum of a person.

nakaila nako ang pinoy; iyang negosyo jewelry-- palit sa pinas, baligya sa germany.  (take note, barato sa ato.)  ginagmay rang negosyoha god, mao nga nakapalit kog ariyos agig inamigo.  maogtas kog katawa ato niya kay arang kapaspas sa wit ug ngilngig ang sense of humor.  one day nahibaw-an na lang nako nga naghukot siya ug pisi sa refrigerator, gihukot ang pikas tumoy sa iyang liog, dayon ambak sa bintana sa ilang apartment.  no reason was given and no one, not even his partner, knew of any sign that things were leading to that.
#29930
mga abogado or those with a sufficient background in law ang kahibawo sa tinuod ani, but it seems to me like bisan tuod ug naay last will and testament, mora man tingali ug ma-contest pa sa mga next of kin kay naa man tay given laws of succession or inheritance (or whatever the term is), like spouse followed by children if married, parents then siblings if unmarried, etc.  it would be great kun naay maka-explain ani nato dinhi.

#29931
una, ang legal rights or privileges ba kaha nga involved intawon.  dugay gaipon ang duha as a couple, through thick and thin, they took care of each other, were happy together, and suffered together.  tepok ang usa.  kinsay ahat nga mopakita to claim all the rights and privileges of the deceased (insurance, estate, etc.)?  ang relatives nga wa gani manumbaling sa kalisod sa ilang paryente sa buhi pa.  gi-disown pa gani intawon.

this is one aspect that was considered when same sex marriage was thought out.  it gives protection to the one who carried out the role as the other half of a couple, regardless of the gender.
#29932
una ra kaayo ang europe by a good ten years ning same sex marriage, way kisaw pareha sa u.s., wa gani mahimong political issue.  kun tukhion ug tarong, masabtan pod ang mga rason, although truth to tell we can only hope nga di ni mahinabo sa atong next-of-kin.
#29933
i'm against it, but if others will go into it, who am i to stop them?  in the same way that i hope that divorce will never be legal in the philippines, so do i hope that same sex marriage will never be.

kana nga hidden akong ipasabot.  but just like any thread here when people's thoughts and ideas come in and the thread twists and turns as it gets longer, makasabot ra ko nga niliko ug nahimong hidden identity na hinoon.

Quotewa jud koy makuha nga info sa imong profile. wa jud ko maka kita kong unsay hitsura nimo kay iring ra may makita sa imong "logo" ...i dont know kong nag post ba ka ug mga pictures nimo dinhi. wa ko kaila unsay ngan nimo ug asa ka nag poyo.

then i'm glad i succeeded.  the choice of revealing or not one's (official) name here is one of the factors that made me decide to join this forum.  it is enough that i go by the name of islander here, so i am islander.

mas swerte ka in more ways than one nga way makuha nga profile o hitsura.  it would not make any difference in the information or knowledge or opinion that one shares.  and that's what we're after here, right?

kun magkailaila by some serendipity, fine.  kun socials ang tuyo o pasabwag sa kasangkayan ug kaparyentehan how far we've gone or how our efforts have reaped their rewards or even how sad we are with our lot, then there's facebook to turn to i guess.

we can of course do the same here, why not.  but at least here we have a choice.  in fact, what i like best here is that we can go on and on about a certain topic, whether we know our (official) names or not.  note: official is parenthetical because islander as a name is good enough as any, and it's my name here.

Quotei can only judge nga arangan ka ug kahimtang kay i know you travelled around the world. naka kita man hinoon ko ug world but not as a tourist but as a working boy, a sheman.

ikaw gyod, sir balong.  wa man tingali magpasabot nga arangan ang tawo kay nakatuyok sa kalibotan.  there could be more than one reason, as you may know.  you yourself gave one, and that's being a 'sheman'.  mahimo sad nga naay makatuyok sa kalibotan tungod kay gitakintakin sa iyang amo nga donya pachang nga dugay na niyang gisilbihan as a maid, okay?

John Allan "Jack" Jones (born January 14, 1938) is an American jazz and pop singer.  He was one of the most popular vocalists of the 1960s.  Jones was primarily a straight pop singer (even when he recorded contemporary material) whose ventures in the direction of jazz were mostly of the big band/swing variety. Jones won two Grammy Awards. (wikipedia)

There’s the rub, of course.  Some things are off limits, and rightly so.  Others have no limits at all.  Several radio presenters asked me yesterday if the unrest in Cairo and Benghazi may have been timed to “coincide with 9/11”.   It simply never occurred to them to ask if the video-clip provocateurs had chosen their date-for-release to coincide with 9/11.

Robert Fisk is an English writer and journalist from Maidstone, Kent.  As Middle East correspondent of The Independent, he has primarily been based in Beirut for more than 30 years.  He has published a number of books and reported on several wars and armed conflicts.

The New York Times once described Robert Fisk as "probably the most famous foreign correspondent in Britain".  He reported the Northern Ireland troubles in the 1970s, the Portuguese Revolution in 1974, the Lebanese Civil War, the Iranian revolution in 1979, the Soviet war in Afghanistan, the Iranâ€"Iraq War, the Gulf War, the Bosnian War, the Algerian Civil War, the Kosovo War, the 2001 international intervention in Afghanistan and the invasion of Iraq in 2003.

An Arabic speaker, he is one of few Western journalists to have interviewed Osama bin Laden, and did so three times between 1994 and 1997. (wikipedia)

Ironically, there is room for a serious discussion among Muslims about, for example, a re-interpretation of the Koran; but Western provocation â€" and western, alas, it is â€" closes down such a narrative.  Meanwhile, we beat our chests in favour of a ‘free press’.  A New Zealand editor once proudly told me how his own newspaper had re-published the cartoon of the Prophet with a bomb-filled turban.  But when I asked him if he planned to publish a cartoon of a Rabbi with a bomb on his head next time Israel invaded Lebanon, he hastily agreed with me that this would be anti-Semitic.

And has Al-Qaeda â€" defeated by the Arab revolutionaries who demanded dignity rather than a Bin Laden Caliphate across the Middle East â€" now decided to cash in on populist grievances to advance their Islamist cause?  Libya’s largely impotent government blames the Americans themselves for Stevens’ killing â€" since the consulate should have been evacuated â€" and suggests that a Gaddafi clique was behind the attack.  This is ridiculous.  If the armed militia in Benghazi, calling itself the ‘Islamic Law Supporters’, are more than telephone-gunmen, then al-Qaeda involvement has to be suspected.

With the help of our wonderful new technology, however, it only needs a couple of loonies to kick off a miniature war in the Muslim world within seconds.  I doubt if poor Christopher Stevens â€" a man who really understood the Arabs as many of his colleagues do not â€" had ever heard of the ‘film’ that unleashed the storming of the US consulate in Benghazi and his own death.  It’s one thing to witlessly claim that the US would go on a “crusade” against al-Qaeda â€" thank you, George W. Bush â€" but another to insult, quite deliberately, an entire people.  Racism of this kind stirs many a crazed heart.

In many ways, it’s familiar territory.  In fifteenth century Spain, Christian cartoonists drew illustrations of the Prophet committing unspeakable acts.  And â€" just so we don’t think we have clean claws today â€" when a Paris cinema showed a film in which Christ made love to a woman, the picture-house was burned-down, one cinema-goer was killed, and the killer turned out to be a Christian.

When a Danish cartoon in a hitherto unknown newspaper drew a picture of the Prophet Mohamed with a bomb in his turban, the Danish embassy in Beirut went up in flames.  When a Texas pastor decided to ‘sentence the Koran to death’, the knives came out in Afghanistan â€" we are leaving aside the little matter of the ‘accidental’ burning of Koranic pages by US personnel in Bagram.  And now a deliberately abusive film provokes the murder of one of the State Department’s fairest diplomats.

The provocateurs, of course, know that politics and religion don’t mix in the Middle East.  They are the same.  Christopher Stevens, his diplomat colleagues in Benghazi, priests in Turkey and Africa, UN personnel in Afghanistan; they have all paid the price for those ‘Christian priests’, ‘cartoonists’, ‘film-makers’ and ‘authors’ â€" the inverted commas are necessary to mark a thin line between illusionists and the real thing â€" who knowingly choose to provoke 1.6 billion Muslims.

So another internet clever-clogs sets the Middle East on fire: Prophet cartoons, then Koranic book-burning, now a video of robed ‘terrorists’ and a fake desert.  The Western-Christian version of al-Qaeda then goes into hiding (an essential requisite for publicity) while the innocent are asphyxiated, beheaded and otherwise done to death - outrageous Muslim revenge thus ‘proving’ the racist claims of the trash-peddlers that Islam is a violent religion.

back to the White House in Washington, DC

President Obama also addressed the ongoing ignorance over his faith, including the belief among some in the U.S. that he is Muslim.

'You know, there's not much I can do about it,' said the president.

'I have a job to do as president, and that does not involve convincing folks that my faith in Jesus is legitimate and real.

'I do my best to live out my faith, and to stay in the Word, and to make my life look more like His.

'What I can do is just keep on following Him, and serve othersâ€"trying to make folks’ lives a little better using this humbling position that I hold.'

for more of this very long critique, for those with the leisure to go through it word for word to separate the chaff from the grain, here's the link:

http://oliverqueenathewatchtower.wordpress.com/2012/06/28/a-critical-look-at-the-youtube-video-obama-mocks-attacks-jesus-christ-and-the-biblevideoobama-is-not-a-christian/

as for the writer of this critique, he has this to say about himself at the end of his article:

In sum, I hope that this has been a useful analysis when dealing with deceitful narrators against a person, such as the United States of America.  People not only haven’t been reading their Bibles, but they’ve been following wolves.  There’s a deficit of skepticism in America â€" a concept that America was founded upon.  Lastly, I wish to further perpetuate the statement that I am not a Christian.  I was raised a Christian, and preferred a life of reason, skepticism, and philosophy.  This does not however mean that I do not find relevant and important moral standards within Christianity, or other religions.  I believe in justice, I believe in virtues, compassion, forgiveness, peace, and a variety of other principles that are found within all corners of the world â€" whether it’s by the hand of Christians, or non-Christians.  I do not, however, support lies, and deceit in the name of God.
#29993
Before I continue with an analysis, I feel that it is necessary to share a few observations.  First, this small video was only 2:09 in length as compared to the entirety of the original speech that Obama gave, which lasted 43:31.

Second, in this small video, the extent to which Obama is quoted is only 81 words â€" out of 4,592 (0.017% of the actual speech).  The narrator used three times as many words (245) to critique Obama’s entire speech, personality, and religion only to conclude that he wasn’t, in fact, a Christian.  Not that this is particularly earth shattering, it does at least, in some small way, show how things can be sorely taken out of context from its original message, and then hurled into the public domain â€" dominated by bliss and ignorance â€" where it will be perceived as fact rather than the fiction that it is.

First, the narrator states that this 43 minute speech is Obama’s effort to explain why he finds it difficult for America to use the Bible to help guide public policy.  An interesting thesis, really.  As for what Obama had to say, this is it:

“…I’d like to talk about the connection between religion and politics and perhaps offer some thoughts about how we can sort through some of the often bitter arguments that we’ve been seeing over the last several years.”
#29994
“[Narrator]On June 28th 2006, Senator Barack Obama gave a speech to the Call To Renewal Conference. Where he explains why he finds it so difficult for America to use the bible to help guide our public policy.

[Obama] Which passages of scripture should guide our public policy? Should we go with, Leviticus which suggests slavery is okay? Or we can go with, we could go with Deuteronomy, which suggests stoning your child if he strays from the faith? Or should we just stick to the Sermon on the Mount? A passage that is so radical that it’s doubtful that our own Defense Department would survive its application. Folks haven’t been reading the bible.

[Narrator] Senator Obama after you so arrogantly mocked and ridiculed the books of Leviticus, Deuteronomy and the Sermon on the Mount, taking those passages from the Bible so painfully out of context you then condescendingly stated quote: “Folks haven’t been reading their Bible.” un-quote. As if the American people don’t know what’s in there. The real question is, do you know what’s in there Senator? For instance, did you not know that most Christians and Historians agree that the Sermon on the Mount, contains the most spiritually inspiring words ever uttered by Jesus Christ or any other religious leader. And as far as you sarcastic remark regarding the Defense Department not being able to survive the Sermon on the Mounts application, I can assure you Senator that Christ would never advocate to turning the other cheek to terrorists and America’s enemies. As your smug laughter so clearly implied. And did you not know Senator Obama that the book of Deuteronomy which you also arrogantly mock and ridicule is what gave us the Ten Commandments. Folks all those condescending remarks distorting our Judeo-Christian Bible did not come out of the mouth of Barack Obama’s pastor Jeremiah Wright. No! It came straight out of the mouth of Barack Obama.

[Obama] Folks haven’t been reading their Bible.”[5]

The text of the video will be shared here, which was gathered from a website (as I did not feel like transcribing it myself), and edited as there are some errors.  I will explain how this video is misleading, and how it garners to the population of voters who would rather accept things blindly, through biased assumptions, and a deficit in critical thought.

The video can be quoted as (and of course it his highly recommended that you watch the video before continuing): ---as posted at the beginning of this thread---

A Critical Look at the YouTube Video: “Obama Mocks & Attacks Jesus Christ and the Bible/Video/Obama Is Not A Christian”

I recently came across a video on YouTube, although it was because a friend of mine shared it with me who got it from a friend. Regardless of how I came upon it, the YouTube video is titled “Obama Mocks & Attacks Jesus Christ And The Bible/Video/Obama Is Not A Christian.”  This particular video was posted on October 12th, 2008.

At this point, you’re probably curious why I would even write about the video on June 25th, 2012.  For one, the video still exists for people to witness, behold, and guzzle down unwittingly.

Another reason, is that because it still exists, it still has influence.  My friend, who showed me this video, was outraged at the fact that his friend, who posted it initially â€" believed what it had to say.  This of course is a fundamental problem with politics and the abundance of fact-free campaign ads, as this video was meant to function as.

The video, which is only 2:09 long, scrapped together a few moments from a keynote address called “Call to Renewal” on June 28th, 2006.
