When shall it be that we shall taste the sweetness of the Divine Will in all that happens to us, considering in everything only His good pleasure, by whom it is certain that adversity is sent with as much love as prosperity, and as much for our good? When shall we cast ourselves undeservedly into the arms of our most loving Father in Heaven, leaving to Him the care of ourselves and of our affairs, and reserving only the desire of pleasing Him, and of serving Him well in all that we can?

Another major mistake :

Another would have to be my failure to appropriate time to hang out, meet up with some friends from high school while during college years. It seems to me that most of my really good friends from high school are now either engaged, married or have kids! (insane how fast they grew up!) I find myself spending time with some of them whenever I'm home, however, the conversations ive had with them reveal how much time i've been separated from them--or the differences in interests. The times that I spent in college, teaching college classes, taking summer classes, internships etc really did take time away from my good friends.

The mistake of not keeping in contact with them is one regrettable action. Something that I'm trying to remedy by keeping in contact with most of them via facebook or via lunch-dates.

With a blink of an eye, 7 years have passed by since we graduated high school, and within another blink of an eye, we'll all be in our 30s and beyond!

Super nga bahoang fruit jud. When my uncle came back from Malaybalay Bukidnon , he brought this fruit back for me to try. As soon as he gave me a piece , i almost threw up because the smell was so overwhelming. lol.

My Lolo, who was there with me, was eating it and liked it, and since he is 84 years old and didn't show any hesitation at eating it, i just tried my best to prevent from suka-ing. LOL.

This fruit really stinks. But it is sweet, once one gets used to the smell.

Pero i enumerate usa na imong mistakes beh? aber??? hahahhahaha!

Luoran ko sa una, dali ra ko mo loose interest by the mere answer and actions of people that acted lewd and gave inappropriate responses. It was a mistake because it was a failure to see the true colors of people when in fact the basis of their actions and talk was just their persona. Years later and with patience, i learned to properly read into people and my 'Luoran-ness' was controlled; na checked na.

Love is sufficient of itself; it gives pleasure by itself and because of itself. It is its own merit, its own reward. Love looks for no cause outside itself, no effect beyond itself. Its profit lies in the practice. Of all the movements, sensations and feelings of the soul, love is the only one in which the creature can respond to the Creator and make some sort of similar return however unequal though it be. For when God loves, all he desires is to be loved in return. The sole purpose of his love is to be loved, in the knowledge that those who love him are made happy by their love of him.

This past July 2010, I drove to Sagbayan Peak and witnessed the utter beauty of the Province of Bohol. The green trees, the rolling chocolate hills, the reverberant chirping of birds, the butterfly's spark, the familial atmosphere,--made the locale truly magical for me. I fell in love with the beauty of the place, the shores of Bohol in view, with Cebu by the distant. The following pictures that I took was an attempt to capture the beauty of the Province. To truly experience the beauty of Sagbayan, one needs to visit the place. The cool ocean breeze that caresses one's face as one marvels at the view--adds an almost ethereal feeling.

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
'Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt of life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
'til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand

Finding Your Inner Strength
The Christian Perspective

by: A. Lorenzo Lucino Jr

One lives life thinking that there are obstacles confronting us and preventing our acquisition of an intended goal; many can conclude and even name these obstacles as: individuals, economic predicaments, political restrictions, intellectual limitations etc, the list seems to go on right?
One lives life constantly under the eyes of others, and one becomes consumed by this perception of trying to beat all others, but in this personal search to self-conceived perfection, one realizes that -- in the end, one looses something. It is the result of bargaining for perfection in any field, especially when one takes advantage of others to attain a goal, or sacrifices a relationship with a loved one, as well as family to attain a pedestal of a position, a work ranking, a job abroad, whatsoever it may be. There are losses, that is the sad point.

However, have you ever thought to yourself that--what if there really was no need to sacrifice family, what if success and feasibility are intertwined and depended on one thing: Your own self realization. Yes, what if you noticed that the problem that one had previously contributed to others and objects, really and truly was one's own self lacking one pivotal factor: FAITH.

One refers to a verse in scripture, which reminds us of the importance of faith in Jesus Christ as the source of success. In this day in age, where faith is challenged, where mental and spiritual strengths are attacked as one fights to survive in life. We are reminded by this message in the bible that personal strength and enlightenment depends on a relationship with the Almighty Lord God in Heaven. It is when we entrust our plans and our ways to the Lord that one receives blessings to accomplish the said task. We are reminded this time and time again in specific verses in the Holy Bible:

1. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. [Proverbs 3: 6]

2. Commit your works to the LORD And your plans will Succeed. [Proverbs 16:3]

When one realizes that he or she cannot do it alone, when one entrusts the burden of plans, of special appointments, of crucial moments in life to the brilliance and Wisdom of the Lord, one is inspired to complete what others would consider 'Impossible'. It is the beauty of a moving faith, it is the realization of the self and relation to Jesus Christ. That He works through you, for you have been purchased at a price.

Do good and may your works glorify Your Father In Heaven.
In the end, that is what counts the most.

One topic that Fr. Francisco and I delved in, which I would like to share with you all, was regarding the issue of apathy. Specifically, religious apathy. In his words, apathy --and religious apathy was the very basis of the crumbling of society, it is in this aspect that absolutes are now being challenged, increases in violence, religious discrimination and moral diversion. Strong words, and most of all powerful in his message--which was based on Sacred Scripture. Tho we joked around here to bring some 'fun' in our very strong and serious conversation, his message was resilient. And I noticed that tho he and I were the ones talking, alot of people in the party were listening, eating and listening. I noticed this.

Fr. Francisco mentioned to me how the situation in Spain was grave; that the church there was in a situation where the youth are not as religious anymore. He did say that that was the very basis for the catholic re-evangelization in Europe, most especially in areas that are ideally catholic. The past  5 years, he said, there has been a surge in catholic revival; the youth are coming back to the fold.

And one thing that he truly appreciated and enjoyed in the Philippines was the sense of Catholic Steadfastness in the people; which he wishes were as strong in Spain. He surprised me with a saying:

"5 centuries ago, it was the Spaniards that spread the Christian faith in the Philippines, but 5 centuries later it is the Filipinos and Philippines that are teaching us how Catholic Lifestyle is supposed to be--and we want that again. So we are re-evangelizing each other."

I could not help but smile and listen intently to his message.

We delved much into the importance of retaining the faith, the importance of understanding biblical scripture , and talked about what changes could be seen in government (in Spain as well as in the Philippines). He asked me about my family, my friends, and my personal patron saint. I never knew such a man who was so intent in getting to know a person so deeply as Fr. Francisco; and we both learned much from each other in a brief span of 4-5 hours.

There is truly something about meeting a man whom feels, thinks, and believes so strongly about something as one does--it provides this spiritual awakening--or enlightening of ideals like never before. I do truly believe that he was sent to me by the Holy Spirit, and he did exactly what he came to do in the Philippines. He helped in evangelizing the faith of people, myself included.

Wherever your paths may lead you, Fr. Francisco, I pray to the Judgment seat of Christ that you are continually protected, guided, and empowered to preach the Gospel of Christ and to continue to spread the Message of the Church for the Glory of Christ.

Amen. God Bless You!

Poems and Poets / Ang Paghigugma (Loving)
August 24, 2010, 01:21:50 PM
        ang paghigugma
isa ka matahom nga tinaga
kung ikaw nagahigugma
kaangay mo ang isa ka bata
bata nga gamay nga wala sang problema
kundi kalipayan lang
mahibi man gamay
pero wala gid gadugay
ang kalain sang buot dasig malipatan
kay ang paghigugmaanay lamang
ang gaka dumduman
kung ako magahigugma
tinguhaan ko gid
nga ang akon ginahigugma
indi maglakat palayo sa akon
kag indi man ko maghimo sang isa ka butang
nga ang akon hingugma magapalayo
maghigugmaanay kita
sang wala katapusan!

I've been invisted to that place many a-times pero wa pa jud mo materialize hehehe  ;D

lol!

During my first experience to the Maribojoc Sabong (Cock Derby), my Uncle Jan took me to Aup Aup because he was hungry--so we drove around Maribojoc's pantalan and lo and behold, there was AUP AUP. We laughed.

The service was good, alot of youngsters were singing / karaoking / and the atmosphere was quite inviting. So we relaxed before going back to the Sabong. It was a good experience--my first time there. :)

Visit it next time , Fr.

Perhaps, phon, i can take you to AUP AUP. :)

HOPE NASAB!?!?!!!!

@lorz affected na kaayu ang tourism. we are labeled BLACK by HK na.

We should learn from this and really apply change. And then this reflects back to Bohol where the recent robbery in Danao occurred just this past week.

There was control by the police during the course of the hostage drama which started at around 7am. Onlookers are barred and even reporters are not allowed to go near the bus. It was just the police acted slowly and they had to rely from the statement of the bus driver who escaped who told them that all hostages are dead at the time of his escape. Aside from that, they were not able to verify or re-negotiate with capt. mendoza about his new demands. Most of the SWAT operatives of MPD are not ready in this kind of situation as you can see some of their members are so relax. Some seen just wearing a bullcap and just standing beside the bus as if he's waiting for someone to come down. They throw tear gas without them wearing gas masks. As you can see when they entered the bus for the clearing operation, they were not wearing anything. Some of them are only wearing surgical masks. So they got stinged by the gas and they went out gasping for air and tearing eyed. Good thing it was raining, they just wiped their eyes with water from the downpour.
The video reached the whole world and the whole world are laughing at our police operatives most specially the SWAT operatives who are considered an elite police unit.

It is clear, Ray, that this was not taken seriously as it should have been. I hope and pray that our tourism industry will not be affected by this..

Question and Answer / Re: Do you still eat Ginamos?
August 24, 2010, 12:29:41 AM
haha i never knew how good ginamos was until i visited the mangga fish market, and also valencia's fish market.
The best kind of ginamos is the really small fish kind, the name of which alludes me. When I came to visit some friends in Valencia, i noticed that some of them were eating ginamos w/ kamote and a rather bitter/short banana. :)

There was no control , there was no clear delineation between civilian region and police controlled region. Civilians were around the bus and the ambulatory vehicles were blocked from accessing the bus after the hostage taker was neutralized. Understandingly nothing like this has ever happened before, however, this is a reminder for the MPD to bolster its response teams.
